Tia's Thread - Do You Wanna Partner!!!
Today let’s talk about partnership.
Now what is partnership or a team? It is
a trust between two or more people that if I reach out to that person, he/she
will reach back no question asked. It is shared memory of everything you have gone
through together. It is the feeling that until you share your triumph and
failure with them, you success is incomplete and your failure is unbearable.
What I find astonishing is that when it
comes to building a team, Sonakshi teams up with Jatin and work seamlessly
without any second thought. When it comes to trusting someone with the utmost
responsibility and relying on them not to screw it up, she reaches out to
Jatin. When expecting someone to stand by her side without fail and without asking
any questions, she thinks of Jatin.
Yet, she says that she trusts Dev. How?
Why? Where is the proof?
She hides things from Dev and he hides
things from her. So no transparency or trust that I can see.
They each solve the other’s problem
behind their back. That’s not a partnership, it’s a caretaker’s job description.
You know when you go to hotels and you come back from sightseeing and all
towels are in the rack and the bed is made as if some elves did some magic and
poof everything is hunky dory? Yeah, that.
You don’t know how long it took to put
everything back in place, you don’t have shared memory of a job well done, you
don’t high five each other at the end of each success or hug each other after
every failure. In short, you don’t develop the team spirit and trust which any
relationship MUST HAVE.
But we are expected to believe that what
Dev and Sonakshi have is love and trust and the ability to rely on each other.
Where is the proof?
When Sonakshi was crying in front of Dev’s
picture saying that she needed him and for him to come back, I thought that now
she will team up with him. But actually she relies on him even less. She is his
caretaker/minder/keeper – but not a partner.
I am not saying that Dev, with his
recent moronic attitude has given her any reason to trust him. But the fact
that he is a moron these days is also the reason that this seems more like a
baby sitter handling a kid.
Until I see that partnership, I won’t be
able to believe that they can ever last as a couple.
EPISODE: Before I write about the
episide, let me say that even Bijoy got a haircut. But Bhaiya is still holding
onto his floppy hair.
Ok, now the episode begins with Asha finding out Bijoy and all
three lose their collective breath.
Bijoy is about to go and Asha
tried to stop him.
Bijoy is furious as to how
they let it happen. He thinks that Sona must not have agreed to stay back out
of her own free will. Ishwari must have blackmailed her again.
Me (*snort*): Bijoy Baba, you
have so much trust on your daughter’s judgment, no? But guess what? Your
daughter takes after her mother who doesn’t have much of self-respect. So could
Ishwari manipulate your daughter into staying longer? Yes, she can. But why
would she want to? She hates your daughter.
So if your daughter had even
a teeny-tiny self-respect, she won’t have agreed to be an unwanted guest people
can’t shake off. But she is just that shameless.
Now guys, don’t you think
that Asha’s treatment of Bijoy is identical to how Sona treats Dev and Dev and
Bijoy pretty much behave the same way?
Both ladies think of
themselves as know-it-all and their husband/ex as dumb. Both hide things from
their respective life partner, but expect to know everything about the same
life partner. Both think that they know best and their life partner is the
burden they are carrying out of their generosity.
Just think and compare.
Anyhoo, Bijoy says that he
won’t let his children stay there. Asha signals Saurabh and he says that it was
Sona’s decision and she decided to stay back. No one forced her. He asks Bijoy
to calm down.
Bijoy says that if Sona has
done this, then he has the right to ask her questions. No one will stop me.
Asha says that he can go but
she will come with him.
Bijoy refuses to take anyone
with him. He says that if they could have done anything, they would have done
it already. He says that if Ishwari thinks that he will spare her, then she is
wrong. He will show her limits today.
Asha calls after him but he
leaves.
Me: Bijoy, you want to ask
Sona why after deciding a so-called fair system on her own, she screwed it up
too, go ahead. You have the right to ask since she is ruining your family life
and your peace of mind for her own selfish reasons. And if after that, you
decide to wash your hands of her, then you can do so as well.
However, being a blind person
won’t do you any good. The sooner you see the true reality of your daughter,
the better.
Fact 1: She is always be
pathetic when it comes to Dev. Even if Dev kicks her on the truth, she will
come crawling back. And to please Dev and keep looking good in his eyes, she
won’t hesitate to play with your emotions either. So accept that fact.
Fact 2: She doesn’t care to
discuss anything with you just like your wife. Both of them think they know
everything and as long as everyone in their life make them believe of their
perfection, everything is fine. That’s what strokes their ego. You have done it
to Asha and you have done it to Sona. But you forgot that both Asha and Sona
are never loyal to you as much as you are devoted to them. You are better off
turning your loyalty to Ronita.
Fact 3: When it comes to Dev
and his family, Sona will always take Asha’s advice because she says what Sona
wants to hear. You don’t sing Dev’s praises and try to convince her to give him
a chance (third, fourth or fifth)…
The sooner you accept these
facts, your life will get easier and then you can decide if your loyalty to
these people are worth it.
Anyhoo, Bijoy comes to Dixit
house shouting Dev’s name. He thinks that oh shoot, he came back again.
Me: Haan Bhaiya, I understand
your disappointment. Dono baap beti badi theet hain. Beti aapke Mummy ko khush
karne ke liye mar nehin rahee hain aur baap aapko oblige nehin kar raha hain.
(Both father and daughter are
so stubborn. The daughter isn’t dying and making your mother happy and the
father is not obliging you by doing the same).
Radha is frustrated that she could not convince Ishwari.
Ishwari and Radha come
running like Gopiyan (damsels) used to come running on Lord Krishna’s call.
Dev asks them to wait there
and he decides to face the fire himself.
He comes and says in a soft
tone: Uncle…
Bijoy: What uncle? We had a
deal. You will call me uncle when our family is around and here no one is
listening.
Dev: Sorry, Mr. Bose.
Bijoy: You will have to be
sorry for many things. What is Sona and Soha are doing here still? Call them. I
am here to take them home.
Dev: Okay. You come and sit,
I will call them.
Bijoy: I won’t step foot in
your house. Rule is rule. Bring Sona here.
Me: Remember yesterday I
talked about how Bijoy is like Bhishma? Bhishma was a white and black,
principled guy. When he gave his words, he never broke or tried to go around it
for any reason. He followed it to the “T”.
Bijoy is the same. He agreed
to something and barring something like an emergency, he won’t break the rule.
He doesn’t conveniently bend
rules to suit his purpose like his wife, daughter and the entire Dixit family.
Dev made a rule. Yet, he is
willing to break it as per his mood. Sonakshi suggested a solution, which she
is again bending to suit her purpose. Now that might be only time they have the
same morality. But they should not use their family as convenience. Go eff your
life elsewhere and let your family live in peace.
Dev mumbles: Don’t know what
problem this father and daughter have. Daughter is stubborn and now dad.
Bijoy: Why are you mumbling?
Say what you want to say on my face.
Dev again asks him to come
in. But Bijoy refuses.
Dev says that he can’t let
him stand there.
Bijoy says: What will you do?
Push me out of here.
Dev leaves exasperated.
Bijoy shouts behind him:
Where are you going? Are you going to get something to hit me with? I am not
going to go anywhere. I am Bengali and I will stand on your door.
Me: Baba, man ki aankhen
khol. Phone nehin hain kya aapke paas? Call kyun nehin karte ho apni nalayak
beti ko?
(Open the eyes of your mind.
Don’t you have phone? Why not call your disgraceful daughter?)
Upstairs, Radha incites
Ishwari that it seems that Bijoy will break their skull today.
Dev comes to the door with a
chair.
Bijoy slightly mollified
says: Ok, I will sit. But you go call Sona.
Dev leaves grumbling about
Bijoy’s complaints.
Me: Ek baat bolu Bhaiya. Bada
nirmal anand mil raha hain aapko apne hi older version se irritate hote hue
dekhke. Kya hain naa, ki isse bhi irritating maal ko Sona jhel chuki hain aapke
liye. Ab aapki baari. Wapas jaana padega issi irritating aadmi ke ghar. Zara ho
sake to dimaag mein zor daalke sochna haan ki Sona ko kaise feel hota hoga yehi
baat sochke.
(Can I say something, Bhaiya?
I am getting much innocent pleasure watching you getting irritated by an older
version of your own self. The thing is that Sona has already tolerated even a
more irritated version for you. Now it’s your turn. And on top of it, you will
have to go to this irritated person’s home. Please use your brain and think,
how Sona must have felt when she had to think the same.)
Anyhoo, Bijoy doesn’t sit.
Here Radha says to Ishwari that Dev is doing so much for his ex father-in-law
(*snort*). If things continue this way, then like Sonakshi Bose and Suhana
Bose, Dev will remove Dixit from his name too.
Ishwari looks at her.
Radha tells Ishwari to go
fight with Bijoy for Dev. She keeps reminding her of how much pain Dev has gone
through.
Ishwari says that she won’t interfere
in Dev’s life. She has got her son back. She is happy to see her son so happy.
Now she will be happy with whatever attention and love Dev can give her. She
will be happy in his happiness.
Ishwari
says: Dev is my principle and Suhana is my interest. I don’t want anything more
than them.
Me (Jaw hitting floor):
Haila!!! Chuti kaat mereko koi. Yeh main sahi sun rahee hoon kya? Maiya ki akal
ka naiya paar lag gaya? Chamatkaar kar diya pahadi wali Maata ne to. Devi
Maiya, aapne kaun sa danda maara ki Maiya ka bheja sahi disha mein hil gaya. Kya
woh danda udhar mein mil sakta hain humko? Kaafi logon ka bheja thikane lagana
hain.
(Somabody pinch me. Am I
hearing right? How did Maata’s brain got on track? What a miracle by Vaishnav
Maata. Dear Goddess, what stick you whacked Maata with to get her brain on
track? Can we get it on loan? We have to get a lot of brain on track urgently).
At Bose house, Asha is worrying what’s going on in Dixit house since Bijoy is not picking up the phone call.
Ronita tells her not to worry. Sonakshi will handle it.
Asha says that what will Sona do? Ishwari is there and that’s the problem.
Saurabh says that Bijoy and Ishwari had been in a cold war for a very long time.
Asha says that if it was cold war, then they would have cursed each other behind their back and would have shut up. But these two forget everything the moment they come in front of each other. They just remember who has hurt whose kid.
Me: Asha, let me correct you here. They don’t forget everything the moment they come in front of each other, they remember everything. They remember tears in their children’s eyes, they remember their children suffering alone, they remember their children broken and crushed and trying to survive each day at a time the moment they face each other.
But you won’t understand it. Because for that you need to love your child and you only love them as long as they do as you say. You are the one who forgets everything to fulfil your dream of a certain marital status, Asha. Not them.
Asha says that if his father and Ishwari come in front of each other then disaster will happen. Bijoy may spare Dev one time, but he will never spare Ishwari.
She hopes no drama will happen in front of Soha.
Me: Yep. Because Bijoy knows Ishwari’s manipulation and Dev’s monkey trick according to her whim very well. You know it too. But whether your daughter suffers due to it or not doesn’t matter to you.
But don’t worry. Bijoy actually loves Soha. He won’t hurt Soha at any cost. So no need to pretend that you are the only one who feels any concern for anyone except Sona and Dev’s prospective union doesn’t get cancelled out with the reminder of what had happened long ago.
Radha comes to Ishwari and tells her to hold Dev’s life in her palm. She reminds her of her glory days when Dev’s leash was in her hand. Radha says that since Dev’s engagement broke with Natasha, everything went bad.
Radha says that Sonakshi is digging a tunnel to get back into their home.
Ishwari says that it’s not about Sonakshi. If she can’t live without Suhana, how will Dev live without her?
Radha says that Suhana can come anytime but to stop Sona from coming here.
Ishwari says how can she do it?
Radha says to get Dev married.
Ishwari is shocked.
Radha says that with Dev being married, Sonakshi can’t ever come back.
Ishwari doesn’t like the idea. She says that if Dev didn’t agree for so long, why would he agree now?
Radha tells Ishwari to use her influence as a Mother Goddess to convince Dev. She tells Ishwari that no one can refuse God.
Ishwari looks at her temple.
Me: Probably imagining her position there. Anyhoo, I got nothing to say. Same old Radha and same old Ishwari and same old confidence in Dev’s capability to take his own decision.
Sonakshi is working. Dev comes and closes her laptop. She doesn’t want to talk.
She says that he is so stubborn. She said that she can handle everything.
Dev says that there are people who are more stubborn than him.
Sona says that she doesn’t want to argue. So leave her alone.
Dev says that there is someone who is also stubborn and he is standing on the door. He can’t handle him alone.
Sona gets confused: Which man?
Dev: Someone whose pride and self-respect are higher than anyone else’s.
Sona: Baba? He is here?
Dev: Wow. I just sang two words in praise of your dad and you got it. That means you admit that he is proud.
Sona: Shut up Dev.
Me: Yep. Dev, you gave a good description of Bijoy. Bijoy is proud of her children and he has a sky-high self-respect. But doesn’t the same description apply to your mother?
She comes down: Baba? How was your trip?
Bijoy: Nothing happened to me. You tell me what has happened to you? Have you gone mad? The house that gave you nothing but pain, you decided to stay back one more week there leaving your home?
Sona: Why are you saying this, Baba? The day we were supposed to come back, the same day Soha’s Dadi returned and Soha wanted to spend time with her. So we stayed back.
Me: Nope. That’s a lie. Soha agreed to leave in the evening. You are the one who wanted to get your junior Goddess status and made the decision yourself. Even Soha’s Dadi didn’t ask you to change your plans. You tell lies with such conviction these days, Sona.
Bijoy asks: So it only matters what they want and not what we want? We want to spend time with Soha too. I knew that they won’t let this arrangement work. I wanted to check if you are the one who is saying this. I thought they must have forced you to change your mind. But now, you are also with them.
Sona: Baba, it’s nothing like that.
Bijoy: It’s exactly like that. Dev talked to you politely for a few days and you changed your mind? Have you started to think that your relationship will be back where you left off my staying with these people? Tell me Sonakshi, is that going on in your mind?
Sonakshi is silent.
Bijoy: May be we failed to give you all the happiness and you started to think that for you and Soha, this house is better.
Sona: Baba, it’s nothing like that. You are hurting yourself and I saying these things. I am here for Suhana, not for anyone else.
Me: Good lord, Sonakshi. Could you lie a bit less and once and for all stop deceiving your family? Your father put his finger on the pulse and that’s why you got silent because even you know the bullshit you are speaking.
And no, considering how much time you spent running after Khatri while your daughter was sick, and how you disappeared after Dev disappeared leaving Soha alone, you are not here for Soha.
So, please say it to someone who still believes you.
And Bijoy, you are speaking the truth and you know the truth. You just don’t want to acknowledge it. Once you accept it, you will be better off. Some people should just be left to their own devices to self-destruct. You can’t save your daughter from everything because she doesn’t want to be saved.
Ishwari comes there and tells Sonakshi: Your father is right. Soha is also his granddaughter and he also has the right to spend time with her. I don’t want to take away anyone’s right.
Me (*scratching her head*): Hain? Yeh Maata mein kiski aatma aa gayee?
(Say what? Who has possessed Maata?)
Sonakshi makes face at Bijoy’s direction.
Ishwari: I wasn’t here but that’s not his fault. He wants to take you home with Suhana. So you should go. No need to worry about me.
Sonakshi: But auntyji, I just…
Ishwari: I know why you did it and I am grateful.
Me *translating*: In short, thanks but no thanks.
Ishwari: I am happy that you thought so much about this family.
Me *translating*: Now kindly keep your unwanted favours to yourself and eff off.
Dev comes there.
Ishwari: Dev, Sonakshi’s father wants to take Sona and Soha home. You go drop them off. Whatever rules have been set, everything should run as per them. No need to break any rule for me. No worries. Next week you two will come back again.
Me: Uh, Maiya… Excuse me. Drop off, matlab? He is also going to go Ghar Jamai for a week, no?
Dev: But Maa, Sonakshi wanted to stay back.
Ishwari: But her family wants to spend time with Suhana.
Dev: But if Sonakshi has taken a decision she must have thought about it. Besides if she stays back here. I will stay two weeks at her place.
Ishwari: Then both family will have to stay away from Suhana for two weeks. No, it's better to keep the current system. Sonakshi, Suhana has gone to class. She will be late to return. You two can go tomorrow.
She tells Bijoy the same that they will come tomorrow.
Dev also says: Yes, we three will come there tomorrow.
Ishwari is shocked.
Bijoy says that he will wait for them.
He leaves. Sona also nods.
Me: Tabhi main sochu ki Maata itni generous kaise? Maata ko laga ki Sona aur Soha jayegi to bete ko Halwa khilayegi. Bete bhi jayega woh bhool gayee hogi. Yeh to ulta pad gaya chaal.
(Ah, that's why I was wondering how Maata suddenly became so generous. She thought that Sona and Soha will be gone, then she can feed her son Halwa. But she forgot that the son is going where Sona is going. Her trick fell flat)
Sorry. Let me pick myself off the floor. Maata with humble pie on her face was hilarious to watch. Unke to tote udd gaye...
Then precap scene. Sonakshi is packing her bags and Dev took her things out.
Sona: Why did you do it? I was just packing.
Dev: Because you are not going anywhere?
Sona: But didn't you hear? Auntyji (gave her divine permission) that I can go.
Dev: Yes, she did. (Now let me find a loophole to not keep her word.) She said it because your father created a scene. Of course Mummy will feel bad that she won't be able to spend time with Soha. Tell your father to show his anger at his home. You decided naa, that we will stay here one more week? I don't know why he likes to create scenes so much. (So apply all I said to your dad but all justification for exact same things on my Mummy).
Me: The ones in the bracket wasn't said but I was hearing them in my head. By the way, Bhaiya, you should know that you only get things done when you create a scene. You and your mother used that tactics many time including the day you two forced Sona to agree for fertility treatment (That's just one example. I can give you many). So why are you so surprised to see Bijoy has learned your tricks and applying them on you?
Sonakshi tells him to not speak anything against her father.
Dev: Why shouldn't I say? What did he do? Because of him you are packing your bags. Come on Sonakshi. You had decided to stay back. We also have to solve Khatri matter.
Me: Yes, and because of your mother, you packed Sonakshi's bags out of your life - twice. At that time, you also had decided to keep Sonakshi in your life forever. Then why didn't you apply same logic then?
Sona: Your home isn't a defence border. I can solve it in my house too.
Dev: Are you army major that you know all strategy? What is your problem? Everything is about me, me, me. (ME: SNORT)... I also have to go with you, naa. I am not thinking about myself. I am thinking about my Mummy.
Me: First of all, let me laugh at your complaints on Sonakshi always thinking about herself. We wish she did. Then she won't have been where she is today. And did you think about her daddy and Mummy and rest of her family when you bundled Suhana and her in the middle of the night and slithered back to your home? No. You didn't. But you still expect preferential treatment.
And Sona, don't complaint now. Some people will grab your neck, if you give them your finger. So save yourself accusations and argument and stay within the agreed terms. They don't know difference between a favour and right. They start to think that favours are their rights.
Sonakshi: There is no point talking about this. Everything has been agreed.
Dev (sulking because he didn't get his way): There is no point talking to you about anything.
Sona: I didn't come here to talk to you. You came here.
Dev: You are right. I will go talk (complaint) to my Mummy. (Then you will see, na na na na na).
Me: Yep. This is why I have problem with this character anymore.
Bijoy comes home bragging: See? As long as Bengali here, nothing unfair can happen. Our Sona is coming here with our Soha. I told them that their whims won't work every time. Today Dev and Ishwari had to listen to me.
No one looks happy. Bijoy wonders: What happened? You didn't like what I said? What I said, I did.
Saurabh comes to him mocking: No Baba. You did very good. We all should clap for you. Why didn't anyone clap? Because you did wrong.
Bijoy: Saurabh, what kind of manners is this?
Ronita tries to stop Saurabh. Saurabh silences her.
Saurabh: No one says anything to Dad, that's why these things happen.
Bijoy asks him to explain himself. What happens because of him?
Saurabh: What you have done in Dixit house. What you are feeling proud off? Sona was fine there. She wanted to stay there. But you didn't let her.
Bijoy: Have you forgotten how they treated Sona there? They wanted to control her life.
Saurabh: Wow, Dad. Isn't that what happened here? Didn't you run a dictatorship too?
Bijoy: You can't talk to me like that. Asha, are you seeing how he is talking to me?
Ronita tries to take him in. Saurabh doesn't go: I want to talk today. Baba should know that we have grown up.
Saurabh says: Baba, you have to stop your childish behaviour and stubbornness. You think what you think for others is right?
Bijoy says: You don't have manners to talk?
Saurabh: No. I don't have any manners. May be we are not as smart as you. But we are capable of taking our decision on our own.
Bijoy is hurt.
Asha tells Ronita to take Saurabh in.
Ronita tries to apologise to Bijoy on Saurabh's behalf. But Asha sends her inside to see Saurabh.
Me: A few thing I'd like to say here. So Saurabh thinks that by insisting on maintaining the fair system Sona and Dev imposed on him is unfair on Bijoy's part because Sonakshi doesn't want to come back.
That's a fair point. But Bijoy is also not obligated to allow Sonakshi ever come back in his house and insist her to lie on the bed she made for herself. No one can complaint about that, can they?
He thinks that Bijoy's protective instinct towards Sonakshi is wrong and that him and Sonakshi are grown up and can manage their life. Then when Radha and Ishwari had called him thief 7 years ago and recently when Radha had tried to break his marriage with Ronita saying he has diabetes, he should have stopped his father from arguing on his behalf. He should have stopped him then from confronting Radha, Vicky and Ishwari without any proof saying that it's his life and he can fight his own battles.
But like Sonakshi, he also uses Bijoy when he wants someone to go to war on his behalf and he then hides behind Bijoy like a coward. Yet, when Bijoy does something he doesn't want him to do, he tries to preach to Bijoy how grown up he is.
Well, buddy. If you want to be a grown up, fight your own damn battles and by the way, ask your mother also to mind her business when it comes to telling Sona what she should do in her life. Whose dictatorship runs in this house 90% of the time, it is quiet visible. Just because the approach is softer, the reality doesn't change.
Vicky and Radha talks how Ishwari is their ace. They can use her to control Dev.
Then Radha sees Ishwari to come there. Radha tells her that she did nothing wrong.
Ishwari is fretting over Suhana.
Radha tells her not to feel weak. She says that Ishwari was talking about Soha and Dev was talking about Sona. She tells Ishwari to stop them from coming back together.
Me: Neki aur pooch pooch? Woh to Ishwari fokat mein kar degi. Pehle bhi kitni baar kar chuki hain.
(She will do it for free. She has separated them so many times before)
Radha says that she can't let go of the principle for interest.
Me: Bhai wah, kya naap tol ke yeh rishte nibhate hain. Kaun jyada kaam ka hain, kaun nehin, uske hisaab se faisla hota hain. Kya business sense hain.
(Wow, how they maintain relationship by their cost and value. Who is more useful and who is less, they make decisions based on that. What a business sense).
Dev is tapping into Dixit eavesdropping tradition.
Radha says that Sonakshi and Dev should not get back together.
Ishwari says that they should know it too. They have just gave each other pain and suffering. Why don't they understand that? Sonakshi left Dev and I lost my son. I won't forget these 7 years. How much hate got into Dev that was visible even until recently. Now they came together for Suhana and what if they get back together. What if in future, they again argue and hurt each other? No. I can't let again go back into the darkness. They will have to understand that the effect of their messed up relationship also affects others.
Bhaiya listens everything.
Me: Kya baat hain? Bhaiya aaj kal hamesha time pe sahi sunte hain. Pehle to incident ke baad innocent shakal leke tapakte the.
Sona: Perfect, just perfect. How can you do this?
Dev: What? I am just telling you what I heard them talking about.
Sona is not happy to be part of Dixit gossip.
Dev: You are not taking kids' words seriously, are you? You taunt me, that's fine. But don't think that I can actually control people's minds. If you want to blame someone, blame your father. He said that you like to stay here. Now you don't claim that I put this thought in his head.
Me: Aisa badnaam to Bijoy bhi aapko nehin dega. Agar aapko dimaag control karna aata, to pehle aap apni wali nehin control karte? Abhi bhi uska control panel pe aapki Mummy baithi hain.
(This accusation even Bijoy can't put on you. If you could control mind, won't you have controlled yours first? You still have your Mummy sitting in the control panel there)
Sona: Of course, you can do it. You are all rounder naa. You can do this stupid pana (stupidity).
Dev: Stupid pana? This is what you are teaching my daughter?
Sona: Not my daughter, our daughter. Forget word and understand the meaning.
Dev: What?
Sona: Prakash, he treats me like Dev Dixit's wife, not an individual. Why is that?
Dev: What do I know? You must have said something.
Sona: I didn't.
Dev: Well, if I could control minds, I'd have controlled yours first. And you won't have had this stupid short hair. You'd have had longer hair, nice ones.
Sona: Hello, my hair is not stupid. Yours is floppy.
Dev: Stop making me conscience. If I could control mind, then we'd have always been together and never would have been apart. And you'd have been crazy in love with me and we'd have lots of children and we'd have always been together.
Sonakshi (expression): Uh... Awkward... Chipku Dixit is back.
Dev (expression): Oooo shit. Did I say it out aloud? I will deny it tomorrow somehow.
Me: Yep. Isi liye kahan tha, pehle apne dimaag ko control karo taaki apni inside voice outside naa nikle.
(That's why I said to control your brain, so that your inside voice doesn't echo outside)

PRECAP: Sonakshi asks Suhana to pack her bags. Suhana asks why?
Sonakshi says that Bijoy is missing her so they are going to their house.
Soha: But I promised Dadi that I will stay with her. Why can't we all stay in one house?
Me: Because honey, then your Dadu will kill your Dadi, then your Dad will kill your Dadu. Then your Dad will go to jail and Vicky and Radha will get all his property.
Then you will end up with same combination family minus your Dadu (whom no one gives a eff about) as you had since your birth. That's why.
Sonakshi says that Bijoy is missing her so they are going to their house.

No Rules!!! Yay!!!
Absolutely! Trying hard to see that partnership in solving issues that arise in life. I thought that was what love and marriage were all about but KRP...has managed to confuse us on this. An arranged marriage is amuch better option that this kind of love that doesn't give u a sense of security and confidence that come what may they would be there for each other
ReplyDelete--tellyjo
I know, right? If two people can't rely on each other, can't depend on each other and can't even work together, then what kind of love is between them? Certainly not that of a life partner. This kind of awkwardness might come at first in arranged marriage when two people are taking time to figure out their equation. But that's not how it should be for a love marriage.
DeleteToday people gonna be so happy. Saurav bajaoed baba Bose yayy. Now he's officially the villain who shoved his opinion down his kids throats and ishu is mahan. Forget this man forgave a guy who broke Sonas heart, blessed them for marriage and never told her to divorce him. Who did, asha. Just cause he told Sona some unpleasant truth abt her thought process he's villain
ReplyDeleteNow, why am I not surprised? Ok. let me go and watch the episode. I will respond afterwards.
DeleteWell said
DeleteAt least I didn't think Bijoy was a villain today. A poor misguided fool who kept trying for fairness. But not a villain. This arrangement was imposed on him and then the change was also imposed on him. Despite him keeping his end of the bargain, Dev took his daughter and granddaughter in the middle of the night and left without even a polite goodbye. Why should he put up with anyone's whim or consider others when no one ever considers how he is feeling?
DeleteForget the show!!
ReplyDeleteTia check this link out!!
An Indian girl is rapping about society's double standards. I hope you like it. The language is PG+18, so I am warning you before hand.
https://www.facebook.com/stirredup.co/videos/278948465844073/
OMG... I saw this. She is awesome. When will we see women like these on screen?
DeleteWhen every daughter gets a father and mother like Bijoy Bose on screen (excluding the loud speaker, it gets annoying at times).
DeleteYes, his screaming is annoying.
DeleteYou had already watched the video!! :0 I guess they say great minds think alike.... ;)
DeleteYep. I will agree on that. 😀
DeleteTia , I love how you sift through the clutter and hit at the crux of the issue . And that's what makes you posts so unique .
ReplyDeleteAgree with you 100% . There is no communication , no transparency and no trust. Once the Khatri issue is solved Sona should be telling Dev "Aaj ka hogaya sahab..ghar jaaoon?" and Dev's response would be "haan teekh hai..kal time pe aa jaana"
Laughing too hard at this 🤣
DeleteOMG... I can just imagine them saying it. Sona is like Katappa. Life long servitude bondage, no rights whatsoever kyunki Raj parivaar ke saath uthna baithna Ghulam ko allowed nehin hain. 😂
Deletetia mujhe maaf karo bhai i can't watch this shitty show no more what did i watch a son yelling at father who wants to protect his daughter not falling in the pit of dixits what nonsense whats with asha she too wants her daughter to be in the darkness yet again and what nonsense even soha turned a fan to ishwari to top it after listening to ishwari words diaper baby dev has zero emotions he is not even affected whats with sona she doesn't want to be in house and dil but want to do a duty like dil serve her mil ..what is with writer righteous ppl are shown wrong cunning thieves like ishwari are shown saints what are writers teaching that raven is ram and ram is raven 🙆🏻🙏officially this show is over i thought after ishwari returns we would at least wish for something good like she redemption or dev but seems we might see bijoy and sona redemption ....🙏i can't watch this crap my head ,time is wasted ....but i will read ur wu from now on
ReplyDeleteYeah...i just read Tia's posts..cant stand this torture! I have stopped visiting IF too since Tia moved out
DeleteShailu, just imagine how I felt. My left hand was permanently on my face on facepalm position. WTF was I watching? I am still in shock mode.
DeleteI know how ur feeling and reviewing it is one more high
DeleteI am hoping they show atleast one instance where Dev learns to man up. I'm sure the entire fandom will go aww! After all they are narrating devakshi love story
ReplyDeleteBut... looks far fetched. Fandom can offer to sponsor writers tickets for BB2 :)
If Dev speaks to ishwari at least with 50% of attitude with which Saurabh spoke with bejoy then we can say that things are a bit balanced!
DeleteMy vote in there as well. But I don't think that will happen. Because Ishwari Maata is Goddess.
DeleteI cant stand this show anymore yaar....ppl r going gaga over durjoy dutta blog cos they are happy to know Sona is at fault..if you stand up for right that becomes your fault? I so love Bijoy character cos hes so much like what i see in my dad and uncles. I have a story to share and can i do it here?
ReplyDeleteYup i don't like that they are making Bijoy equal to Ishwari.given a choice Bijoy woyld have never come back to Delhi. He always gives in to his children's wishes. He may criticize but always supports them. He is open about what he feels... no masks
DeleteNo need to ask permission, Ritika. Go ahead and share. This is a no holds barred place.
DeleteThanks Tia! :)
DeletePeople like Asha exists and is pretty common in our society where the mothers tell their daughters to adjust. Until a few months back till Sonakshi got married all the women folk used to watch KRPKAB but things took a downhill turn when Sonakshi got married and until a few episodes back ...now we r back to finding peace cos all of us stopped watching the show. The reason is the show scratched some not so old but scabbing wounds of ours. My cousin sister was married into a family similar to the Dixits the only difference being the MIL was educated unlike Ishwari and nope they werent a business family. My cousin sister pretty much faced all the taunts and tantrums similar to Sona but none of us knew it initially cos she was always told by my aunt to adjust cos nothing works without adjustments. Since she was in another city , we hardly saw her post marriage and my uncle and aunt both being busy doctors could hardly visit them. Once when she came home to visit us,we found her so different from what she used to be. Silent and in her shell..she was generally a soft spoken person but fun loving nontheless. To see her so silent, was a little difficult. Now my uncle is a very nice father but relied on my aunt to handle the affairs of the home.My aunt knew all along that her daughter was in an hostile environment but did nothing to help her or tell the family and she lied to my uncle that all was fine. The end result was that my cousin realized that she wouldnt get help from her mom and in her depression took a drastic step of ending her life. My uncle still is upset and hurt with my aunt cos he feels she handled it wrong . My aunt still lives in that guilt but feels that she only wanted the right for her daughter.
Bijoy represents my dad and uncles and i would love to see such strong dads fight for their daughter. When i hear people passing scathing remarks at him i get irked. Yes, he needs to tone down but he s not wrong for he stands for the truth and its time they stopped portraying people like Asha.
The makers say they represent reality but isnt it time they started showing progressive behavior so that it drives a home a point to the viewers who learn from all this and change the reality to a better reality. Dont they have so much of a social responsibility. ??
Sorry for that long post/rant...i am so fed up of seeing people making Bijoy out as a villain. He has always been nice to Dev till the first separation happened. ,...and now i am so fed up of the show!
Ritika, thanks a lot for sharing this story. Yes, I had already shared on the IF how my sister also faced hostile situation at her in-laws place. Only difference is she had me and we both used to rehearse dialogs and strategy to fight out during our office times(our offices were close together).both my mom and Dad are like Asha and of no help. I'm very close to my sister cos we are pretty much same age and kinda joined at the hip. Thankfully through a thorough fight and well placed lagic we were able to make her in-laws see sense and now she is in a happy place at her joint family. It's so good so see happy endings. I so wish they had done a really progressive story. Now we have a Saurabh who is terribly rude to Bijoy. I haven't watched the serial so don't know how bad it was. just don't want to see my fav character Bijoy get hurt.
DeleteRitika, what happened to your cousin sister is so sad. Emotional blackmail when it comes from loved ones especially moms becomes hard (I mean a mother is the first person who is supposed to support you, when that same person asks you to make adjustement, it's a sort of emotional blackmail itself since it comes from a loved person), there is a limit to adjustements one can make, and in no way a person should end their life, but your cousin sister must have gone through huge emotional turmoil to take such a drastic step, sad there was no one to support her. I think it's big time the educational system and families take the responsibility of preparing women to be strong and fight for their rights, it starts from childhood!
DeleteSo true...my aunt despite being educated and a doctor herself felt that the society will blame the girl but what's the point thinking of the society, she lost her child. We all feel bad for her but at the same time the family feels this could have been prevented. None of the girls in our house know to cook meals besides making tea, when my cousin got married that was the first taunt that she didnt know even the stuff girls were supposed to know..she was an architect and worked in a good firm but that didnt matter and my aunt took it upon herself as a blame that she didnt prepare her daughter for the husbands house. All the things tumbled out when the worst happened. My daadi is uber cool and when she saw Asha advising Sona she said this is where most mom/women make mistake. ..as u said preparing women starts from childhood..
Deleteyup, i cant even think of the turmoil she must have gone through to do that. It hurts me a lot each time i think of that and she was sushed up by her own mom. I think my aunt must have seen that as a failure on her part if her daughter came back ? I really dont understand, should only the girl put in the efforts to make the marriage work and her in laws happy? How much effort is right? What if all the efforts dont help? do you still try upping the efforts? scares me!
DeleteOh honey, very sorry to hear about your cousin. What a tragic ending when she should not have to suffer alone. Once something bad happens, no amount of repentance can bring the person back.
DeleteThat's why I had been saying since season one, emotional abuse, infertility etc all these are real life issues for real people. They should be treated in a sensitive manner. There are people whose life is affected by these, whose life may have ended or they have suffered. The way they made a mockery of every serious issue ever portrayed on screen all to justify Bhaiya and Maiya are not only insensitive but unforgivable.
We all know how women are sometimes treated in our society even when they are not at fault. Yet when I see them justifying the abusive person and turn the victim into the bad guy, it's a case of victim shaming and victim blaming that already is rampant in our society.
If they can't do justice with a social issue, then they should stick to illogical fluff. Don't write stories on them. It's like someone making a show on domestic violence and in the end turns the abusive person into some misunderstood person with a bad past while blaming the victim for not being "understanding". That seriously makes me mad.
TV can be used to show right from wrong. But here such a powerful medium is being used to justify wrong. Shame!!!
so let's just start with the precap for tomorrow. Do you remember tia I asked you once is soha turning out to be duchess dixit after all. Yes indeed she is from what I see of the precap. Even if a street dog is regularly fed it will miss you when you are not around. Not just because of the food. It misses your attention and affection too. Here her dida and dadu bought her up and she is more attached to her pappas mumma.
ReplyDeleteThe episode was a new low. Bejoy was wrong he should not have given a shit about sona. Why did he have to go there and warn sona and show her the mirror.
Yes he loves her and doesn't want to see her hurt but he is caring about a daughter and his own family who doesn't give anything about his honour and neither deserves his love. The way saurabh humiliated his father in front of his wife and mother is disappointing and disgusting. In a way Devs slap was and can't hurt as much as saurabhs rant.
How easily the writers and saurabh forgets the major role he played by getting them debt ridden. What kind of a mother and wife is Asha? Wasn't she the same woman who lectured sona about the way to talk to dev?
Today of felt that all lines of decency was crossed on a show in Indian television. Actors should take a stand sometime and refuse to enact such a scene.
Oh God was Saurab's rant that bad? Was he just loud and rude or did he use cutting logic?
DeleteThe rant by saurabh I agree to a great extent was a long time due. His father always reserved the worst for him. But the reason for the rant the extent of the ranting and the method and the audience of his rant especially his wife was not right and can't be justified . If saurabh wanted to take a stand he should not have allowed him to go to dixit house he should have talked to him there. And the writers Keep forgetting that bijoy had a serious health condition one week ago. Sending him on a lone journey was stupid but his son shouting at him not done.
DeleteYep, I remember, Kavi. Soha also takes after her mother and grandmother. Both runs after people who show up when it is convenient for them. None of them appreciate those who stand by them through thick and thin.
DeleteSaurabh's personal issues I can understand and if he wants to talk to Bijoy about his treatment, he can. But he is using Sona's situation as smokescreen to vent out his frustration. Just like he used Ronita's issue last time. Last time he said that everyone is only concerned with Sona, no one cares about anyone else. Well, what did he do today? Why is he now getting into Sona and Bijoy's business?
Wasn't he the one who got upset at his mother when she allowed Sona to stay back another week? And where was his lecture of interference when he let Bijoy go and fight on his behalf with Radha and Vicky for trying to break his marriage? Why didn't he ask him to stand back and handle his own problem like an adult as he claims to be? Why was he then hiding behind Bijoy and stammering?
They called him thief and threw them on the street. What could he do? Sona made the business and she made them a success. If he really wants to discuss Sona's decision, then tell Sona not to change her decision if she doesn't want to. Why blame Bijoy when Ishwari willingly threw Sona out? Bijoy just gave her the opportunity to save her face while achieving her goal. Now everyone will blame Bijoy instead of Ishwari.
Like I said, Saurabh and Sona have Asha's convenient morality. One standard for self, another for others.
Tia, they all have convenient morality. Radha and Vicky are the reason why seeds of doubt were sown in the mind of Ronita's mom . Even after knowing about it, Dev just threatens her mom and not Radha and Vicky. coz ghar pe spineless ho jaate hein na kuch log. this same Saurabh did not even offer to accompany Sona when she returned with the cheque. The same Dev who continues to boast about himself being the high and mighty Dev has a problem with Bijoy's boastfulness... sab golmaal hein..I haven't watched the episode. Can't stand a no-good like Sourab be rude and loud to Bijoy. I also hope Bijoy takes a chill pill now. Sab ko invite karne do bail ko marne ke liye. Let his stay away from the bail ..
DeleteThe rest of the planning and plotting by GKB and Vicky and ishwari and her cunningness is nothing much to talk about. Dev as usual mocks bejoy and sona still is a DOORMAT( no rules) ! My grandmother is 80 and my grandfather is 94. My grandfather is an ex army man. He can be described as a very strict and as age has advanced extremely cranky person. He constantly gets into fights with my grandmother and his two daughters that's my mother and my aunt. But to this day whenever any of the two daughters dared to even raise their voice against their father my grandmother immediately steps in and ticks them off. And mind you my mother is herself a grandmother to three children.
ReplyDeleteYep. Because you can speak with your elders, tell them they are wrong or even have a discussion/debate. But you can't scream at your elders.
DeleteThat's manners which Bijoy had been saying.
And funny how Asha taught Sona how to speak to her daughter's father. But today listened silently how her son was talking to her daughter's father. If this was her, Bijoy would have stepped in for her respect. What an ungrateful woman.
And wow pretty intelligent cvs through in a thadka of romance to keep the fans happy. But for how long will this gimmick work? Just because shaheer and Erica has great chemistry they are utilising it to the hilt.
ReplyDeleteBhai kathri just come with a ak 47 and shoot them all dead just spare bejoy. I love him. He is the kind of father that girls in India would give a limb up for. I know he loud and impulsive but I will any day take a man like him than self centred mammas boy dev baby.
I agree. He is loud and annoying because of his screaming. He is also a cranky old man. But he is fair and just. He never takes more or less than his due. He is always protective of his family and very loyal to them. I can take a screaming straight shooter. But I can't take a soft spoken backstabber like Ishwari.
Deletenow a days I feel shatter is trying harder on the chemistry --- something is not clicking though... also I wonder guys: how long is shaheer away?
DeleteAyyo - more Jatin episodes at least I hope!
Girls like sona who tend to get carried away by sweet talks and looks and someone who flatters her ego on a normal day do need a strong father like Bijoy to bring them back to their senses.
DeleteLove is sometimes overhyped at the cost of respect
Sorry for the rant!
ReplyDeleteNo need to feel sorry for expressing your opinion here, hun. That's why I created this space so that people can speak their mind without restrictions.
DeleteLoved the two cents on partnership though! My mother always says to have a strong relationship the couple should be good friends first (not for the sake of it). It is then where other things follow. Trust and respect automatically build up. What Sona and Dev had was never friendship, they acted more like colleagues sharing the same work place ever since the beginning. Neither Sona nor Dev trust each other. The bonding seems so artificial now that even the old episodes don't attract me anymore.
ReplyDeleteThe situations have been made repetitive with Dev getting all the justifications for his acts.
Seeing Asha speak these days makes my blood boil more than hearing Ishwari's sant vaanis. Too fed up. Just your thread makes me wanna join the discussion.
P.S: Ishwari ko dekhke aisa lagta hain vaisnodevi jo jaate vakt seedhiyon se gir gayi!;-)
Your mother is absolutely right. I don't know if you are married. But I am. And I can vouch personally what your mother said. Friendship is the strongest foundation any relationship can have because we are most honest with our best friends. Any relationship that has that foundation, can never falter in adversity. Because even if due to disagreements or arguments, all other relationships get forgotten, the friendship keeps going strong. I agree. Dev and Sona never had the trust, the strength, the unconditional support friendship gives. Which is why they didn't last. Jatin and Sona have it. May be they have no romantic feelings. But they have that strong bond of friendship and that's why they lasted so long.
DeleteLOL this show is perfect example of how to justify abuse and insults in the name of sustaining in a relationship. Durjoy dutta is shitty writer anyway .He's not on amitav ghosh level.unfortunalty I have read 2 books of his which is full of psychoness and cheesy romance selling abuse ,puri finish hi nahi Kar payi.so his views doesn't surprises me. This show is so trying to be wannabe path breaker ke its almost funny.patnaiks and dutta needs to come out their illusions just because of some retweets from obsessive fans ,doesn't make their show"progressive" .
ReplyDeleteThankfully I never read any of his books and I never will. I don't think losing my peace of mind is worth the money I spend buying his books.
DeleteI too tried reafing one book of DD. Abandoned it before reaching midway. There was only cheese
DeleteTia don't u think writer is some what tedha ( no offensive ) no matter what they show either dev or ishwari is shown right and blaming sona for nothing . Mahaan dev says sona is selfish e lo who was selfish from the beginning me my mom my daughter it was always dev saying so and bijoy bossing was no were near dev harassment were he made sona soha dragged in to dixits mad house without even asking permission from parents now see dev feels bijoy is unfair and in precap seems like dev pumped up soha in his games she soha turned a clone already better sona leave her daughter and go marry jatin inside .
ReplyDeleteTwitter god tia ppl are praising sourabh yar what nonsense were was sourabh when sona was thrown out and he was called a thief by that family who were also thieves once still he defends dixits wah kya bakwas script yaar .
In real life ppl will not even face ppl like that and ex couple are not even cordial with each other with ex or there inlaws .
Baap re the heights of nonsense they are throwing in the show feels like breaking my tv screen or laptop but u know both are bought from my own hard worked money so why waste on such crap .
This show deserves a kheela award for such nasty script
I love Bijoy cos hes one upright and honest man. He is angry cos his daughter was hurt, he may have been shown as partial towards Sona but i think thats also cos Saurabh on his own two feet couldnt do much. Exactly, if he was so grown up why couldnt he fight his battles on his own as Tia said.
DeleteBijoy should just ignore all these ppl and stay away from them. Let them ruin /rot their lives. He deserves much better.
That's why I am not in Twitter. Not interested to read crazy stuff. Isn't it funny that people want Dev to do what Ishwari says at all times. But they also doesn't want Sona and Saurabh to do the same for Bijoy. Going against Ishwari is equivalent to throwing her out on the street. But going against Bijoy is praised. And we all know why. Anyone who is pro-Bhaiya is a good guy and anyone who is anti-Bhaiya is a bad guy.
DeleteUpdate done. Responses later. :D
ReplyDeleteLol tia this was epic lines can't stop laughing....Me: Because honey, then your Dadu will kill your Dadi, then your Dad will kill your Dadu. Then your Dad will go to jail and Vicky and Radha will get all his property.
ReplyDeleteThen you will end up with same combination family minus your Dadu (whom no one gives a eff about) as you had since your birth. That's why.
Omg ur too good with words better dev kill us we can't see his dumbness he saw what his mother was saying yet so ignorant and those smart lines didn't suite him .
U don't need to have powers to control ppl but u need brain and six sense to read ppl mind u need a bigger heart to know ppl pain to be selfless and try to learn to balance between wife and mother equally .
Being a business he should be knowing ppl well in business they need to know how opposite ppl mind work how can he be successful business but a dumb person in life .
Not only a failure in being a hubby he failed being a human too the way he treats with golu shows that he is inhuman and self centered loser who is blind , deaf and dumb in life when it comes to loving his mom and daughter.
Wish to see bijoy going away leaving these idiots faraway to lead a peaceful life such a nice human being but no value for such great father.
Wish girls had father like bijoy there won't be succide these days in real life were he sees a daughter as equal or more than son .
It's in the nature it's quit evident such fathers have no respect but few don't get support from fathers those daughters suffer like my cousin sister.
Zindagi aisi hai they have diamond in there hand yet they search around what a waste these bose family yaar
Script writer successfully ruined sane characters like saurabh Asha who knows ronita in the list just to glorify ishwari and dev and call this shit a progressive show ( no offense of the words I used) I am so angry today seeing saurabh yelling at father I was in tears
Thank you, Shailu. I wish Bijoy just dump this lot, take his mother and go back to Kolkata. Asha can then rule the roost as per her wish. No one in the Bose family deserves him. I will give my right eye and teeth for such a protective father who adores anyone who adores his daughter and hates whoever doesn't treat her well. I don't care if he is a cranky and loud old man. If people treated him with due respect of an adult, he won't have behaved such a way. He never behaved like this until Sona screwed up her life because of Dev.
DeleteBijoy is loud but correct anyway he knows dixits more than trio idiots
DeleteLet them lose soha then they might realize what bijoy was saying was right dixits are ungrateful ppl selfish and bose family are dumb always
Sona did a mistake loving this crepe and had soha as bonus but again she is falling in this pit knowingly
I have zero sympathy for sona whatever happens later it's her karma
Can someone explain the last scene to me? I don't understand Sonas reaction to the gossip and what kids is Dev telling her not to trust his mom and aunt? This scene didn't make sense to me ... Was it just so they could have a romantic moment? Urgh what happened in that scene before all the mind control and hair talk can anyone enlighten me?
ReplyDeleteThat was to forcefully enter romance. It sounds gibberish anyway. They just had to enter Bhaiya's drunken confession in sober form.
Deletewell --- he is "trusting" her maybe? Whatever the case - the 'romance' seems to have lost any chemistry! Are they fighting or what? Not seeing chemistry since the red shirt day :)
DeleteCan I explain it???
DeleteDev was happy that the people around him have started to think that he and Sona are behaving like a couple. So, he rushed to Sona and told her how his mother and RR felt regarding their behavior. Sona said that they are thinking this way because Dev is making them think this way (mind control). He says it is because your father said things which made her feel this way. Sona says that Prakash makes her feel like she is Dev Dixit's wife meaning you must've made him think like that. On that, Dev says that I do not control people's mind and if I did, I would've stopped you and blah blah blah....
IN other words, dimagh ki dhai krna and Romance ke naam pe BS present krna
Ah, thank you. Now it all makes sense. Thanks for explaining. But obviously Dev's Mother Goddess and Aunt don't want them to get back together. Did Dev again apply his selective hearing there and just plain ignored that portion? What do you think?
DeleteHe simply ignored it.
DeleteTia ,you are absolutely right about Asha and Sona being similar in the way they treat their husbands. Asha wanted to accompany Bijoy to Dixit house , so that she could shut him up/calm him down if required , much like how Sona is now handling the Khatri issue while keeping Dev from getting directly involved.I also agree with all the facts that you have stated . But having said that , I feel that Bijoy's approach today was wrong. His concerns were genuine , he saw right through Sona's intentions and had every right to get upset. But he could have done this privately over a call. I feel Asha should try to correct his approach , rather than ignoring/ ridiculing his concerns , hiding things from him and basically treating him like a child.
ReplyDeleteSonakshi's indecisiveness is annoying me . Bhaiyya aur Maiyya ko impress bhi karna hai , baba ko disappoint bhi nahi karna hai. Infact , Bhaiyya aur Behena dono ka yehi problem hai. I wish they had atleast 5% of the conviction and resoluteness that Ishwari and Bijoy often display. Khair chodo... And Bijoy needs to understand that Ishwari takes no pleasure in keeping Sona in Dixit house or in controlling her . In fact , with Sona's presence she fears losing control over her son's life, as is evident from the 'bad time physically approaching' expression on her face every time she looks at Sona (Tia , I just can get over this expression ) If given a chance , she would ship Sona out to a different planet and not just out of her house.
As for Saurabh's outburst, I feel it's just pent up frustration that has finally found a reason and time to let itself out. I feel Bijoy has always undermined Saurabh's confidence and has never stood by him like he stood by Sona. But Saurabh picked the wrong issue to let it out and like you mentioned , it looks a bit convenient. Also comparing Bijoy's protectiveness and concern for Sona to Ishwari's morbid obsession for control was wrong. These people really do not understand Ishwari . Ishwari attempts to control her son's life to fulfill her own selfish needs. It's a different thing, that she doesn't admit this fact even to herself much less to the outside world. She sees herself as a generous , noble , self- sacrificing being and that level of self-delusion har kisi ki bas ki baat nahi hai. Bijoy, on the other hand merely wishes to protect Sona from ill- treatment and another heart break . Because the last time it happened , she was left on the street literally with a broken heart. And Asha and Saurabh seem to forget that fact conveniently . Bas aaj le liye itna hi. Namaskar !
BTW Tia , Radha and Ishwari running to Bijoy like gopiya gave me a vivid image of Bijoy in Krishna's getup with these two dancing around him! But they soon found out that Bijoy baasuri bajane nayi unki bajaane aaya tha. Bwaahaha!
I will agree with you about Bijoy. I wish he had called Sona out and talked to her. I don't like screaming people. I wish he had. However, what he said was right. He will have more impact if he stops screaming and speaks in calm and precise manner. However, who can tolerate Sona and Dev's repeated nautanki for so long?
DeleteSonakshi needs to stop pretending and speak the truth. So that Bijoy can make his own decision about if he is prepared to watch Sonakshi wreck her life again or he can wash of his hands off her.
Asha is always pro married status. Happy or unhappy notwithstanding. Saurabh leans towards whoever is stronger side. Here, it is Asha right now.
Lol. I so wish Bijoy bajaoes these two chudails. But CVs ne koi aisa satisfaction nehin diya.
haven't seen the episode but the WU is itself off-putting. Please enlighten me on a few things:
ReplyDeletea) Whats the reaction from Dev after he overhears his mom? Does he tell Sona? No reaction - ki mummy doesn't want his lady back!?
b)I don't get the whole last part anyway and I won't bother...
Yet again --- another very less of SONA episode . So whatever happened to Kathri story? I guess it will resume tmrw or day after now that Erica is back!
Here's the answer to your question.
Deletea. He goes to gossip with Sona what his mother and aunt was saying and also speaks rubbish which makes no sense whatsoever.
The last part seemed too schizophrenic to me to understand. I tried to give reaction what I could get. But it might sound demented for that I apologize but it was demented rambling without any sense.
Thanks Tia -- ok what you say seems to suggest he will buy the bull shit and start staying away from SONA !! Oh dear oh dear...
DeleteSona --- please run to Jatin quickly!
What is annoying about the show is that there is no consistency!. Had the characters been this way since the very beginning I would have understood, but here they are making characters behave in a different way from their original character (few characters were spared maybe Bijoy and villains)!
ReplyDeleteBut why am I surprised, this is not the first time on indian tv!
If the characters were this whiny and annoying to begin with, JN, none of us would have invested our time in this. The lack of consistency is also reflecting on script. Just watch the last 10 minutes and you will be left with WTF expression.
DeleteWe are not the only ones to think the same, "astrix90" from IF, she raised some valid points : http://www.india-forums.com/forum_posts.asp?TID=4844175&PID=141942286&#p141942286
DeleteYes I was confused with the last scene too, what I understoo is : Dev was talking about the conversation between Ishwari and RR, I mean he was trying to explain that how everyone thinks they might get together and he started saying ki maybe she gave them reasons to think so and he has no super powers like Golu and Soha say to put this in her dad's mind too, so she must be the one who did it, Sona replied to this saying that maybe he is the one who is giving people ideas since Prakash who is a servant of Dixits behaves with her as Dev's wife !!
These two have become aliens, how I miss the mature versions of season 1 (first part of it mainly and second part few instances)

@MamtaYPatnaik basically d dutta confirmed tht leap ploy was to make money..shame shame, regressive in the name of progressive!!!
thats what i sent her ....cant stand their hum alag hai bullshit ne more
DeleteAstrix wrote excellent points. If I still went there, I'd have liked her comment. Lavanya is as usual on point.
Delete@Ritika311 I think Durjoy was either trolling the producers or distancing himself from the script that is going down the drain very quickly. He still needs to make money as an author, he might lose cred if this show tanks and associated with him ... he is the only writer people know by name and tweet at. I wonder what the producer was thinking when she tweeted his blog post ... did she read it? It doesnt seem so.
DeleteI am so disappointed with today's episode especially Dev and Sona's talks and dialogues. It's pathetic, childish, incoherent, meaningless. Is this the same show that I used to admire for it's meaningful, soulful, thoughtful, sensible, innocent, loving, caring, mature dialogues. I really couldn't understand what both sona and dev were talking in today's episode and even if I understood it is just some gibberish coming out of their mouth which is not meaningful, childish. I don't find any difference between the meaningless tashan that was shown since the beginning of season 2 and now that is being shown. The loudness has come down but they still bitch each other. The sensibility, maturity of both the characters is just going downhill and both are acting like dumb. I am feeling bad for myself watching this crap but not able let go with a ray of hope that things might change for better. But by the looks of it it's just getting messier by the day. I think I need to de addict myself from this show otherwise I will go crazy with crazy characterization of the leads that has come down to.
ReplyDeleteI don't blame you a bit. I felt that Sona seemed drugged and her speech was getting slurred. Erica must be dead on her feet working long hours to accommodate her trip. Dev looked demented schizophrenic. Where he connected his mother hoping they never get back together to him mind controlling Sonakshi to stay put in his mad house, I did not get. Half of the stuff did not make sense today.
DeleteSorry I am just continuing my rant from the above post - Few episodes ago Sona told dev that they shouldn't get back together but you know what they both will only be happy by hurting each other so it's better they get back together and hurt each other and love each other and live happily. The end.
ReplyDeleteNo need to say sorry. Say anything here about anyone. That's why we have created this thread.
DeleteMaybe Dujoy was trolling the producers with his blog post ... if you read it with this in mind it sounds like he is distancing himself from this show's script ... there are 4 other people who work on it and he is just a measly 1/5th of the team. He takes a dig at the producers and channel for extending the show via a leap to make more money. He suggests that the characters won't change their characterization, however, S1 Dev and Sona are nothing like this gunda mawali Dev and Sona. In today's episode, Dev was extremely rude with Bijoy, his mumbling was extremely offensive. I'd punch my brother-in-law if he made comments about my dad the way Dev did.
ReplyDeleteI have to ask, are all the actors just overacting in season 2 is that why it's so loud and over the top? Is it their way of rebelling to the production house for wasting their time and talent?
Yes, I really did not appreciate what Dev said to Bujoy. It really shows he never respected in him in the first place. He was just dealing with them because they were his wife's family. It really hurts to watch the show now a days. As the tile of the show there is no colour or beauty left in the show. Please cvs wind up the show. Can't see this show / characters getting worse anymore.
DeleteSonakshi never treated Ishwari the way Dev treats Bijoy, and Ishwari has said and done far worse to both Sona and Dev. I think the Dev dialogs today were meant to please the fans who hate Bijoy. Even now, Sona keeps saying that she respects Ishwari, and Dev knows what she is doing for his mom, should he at least have some respect for his kid's grandfather? Bijoy wasn't wrong to show up today ... remember Ishwari also showed up randomly and demanded to see Soha, even though she was told Soha was sleeping. Sona was still cordial to Ishwari despite the tantrum she threw.
DeleteHere one thing you have to consider. How does Dev react when anyone mocks his mother vs. how Sonakshi reacts. That's the reason how Ishwari is treated vs. how Bijoy is treated. It's up to us to stand up for our family. It's not someone else's responsibility. The way Bijoy's family treat him, it doesn't look like he matters to them at all. In spite of that he tries to protect these ungrateful lot and that's why he is insulted by others.
DeleteNow compare that to Sona. She is shown her place in Ishwari mansion for the exact reason. Just like Bijoy, she has no value there. Just like Bijoy she tries to protect them. Just like Bijoy she is politely (now, rudely in season one) is told to keep her favours to herself and eff off. And just like Bijoy she still doesn't learn her lessons.
Giving away anything for free reduces it's value, even favour.
Hey Shruti, Welcome. Feel free to slap extra on my behalf for being an utter moron. I have never seen a more pathetic girl in my life. Ishwari today practically told her to get the eff out with her daughter and she went to do her a favour.
ReplyDeleteWaise Tia, there is a thread the weekly discussion thread in IF, there are some interesting takes there, it has all kind of different points of views and some deep analysis. I think some of the writers there dissect characters and think in a very broad way that the writers and people who created the characters might have never thought about!! The way many concepts and psychological disorders are discussed, interesting to say the least! Now one would still think whether these really apply to the show or not, but people's writing is really engaging.
ReplyDeleteSo I think more than the show, the discussions are interesting
This a post I found interesting, I like this guy's writing, Suyash: http://www.india-forums.com/forum_posts.asp?TID=4843452&PID=141938941&#p141938941
I like that writing. Very well written. I agree with his analysis. Yes, it is very hard to change as you grow older. But people do change with sufficient motivation. For example, if someone is too arrogant and it's making them get fired from their job and they need to earn money, they won't hold on to their arrogance much longer because they will starve otherwise. Here the job is a necessity, not an option.
DeleteThe same way a woman even when she marries at 30, she still changes herself and adjusts in her new family because without it she won't be able to sustain a marriage. Here keeping her relationship going is the motivation.
However, if a man refuses to change and still expects somehow the woman he loves change her mind (through mind control) so that he can have his cake and eat it to with minimum or no effort on his part, it's because changing himself and his attitude for the woman is not sufficient motivation for him.
I had said once that people stand up for what is important, they also change themselves when the motivation is there. Dev stood up for Ishwari every time. Why? Because she is important. He only stood up for Sonakshi against outsiders, never against his own family. Because Sonakshi is more important than outsiders and his family is more important than Sonakshi.
But Sonakshi stood up for Dev against her brother and Elena even after they broke up. She also stood up against Bijoy for him when he was annoying Dev unnecessarily. So in her mind, Dev's respect is important at all times and that's her motivation.
That's why this is an uneven situation due to their personal motivation and priority list.
The end game is Devakshi...I think you are trying hard to ignore that part..Your points are good but to a certain limit...when you are stressing the same point using even tiny scenes and expressions then i think it is going overboard...your theory is they should not be together...so all your points are the facts you are using to prove your theory and because of that your view as become prejudiced...
ReplyDeleteThe end game is dev and sona and soha but how they arrive there is really important. And if they reach there without kicking out the uncomfortable elephants in the room the story will loose its charm and unique nature. And maturity has already flown out of the window. But a little bit of logic will help. The writers can take creative freedom but not to the extent of destroying the crux of the story.
DeleteOk. Fair enough. But tell me why the end game is Dev and Sonakshi together? Is there any reason for it? Just because they were announced as male and female lead? What did you see worth sustaining relationship between them now that wasn't there last time and still didn't work except attraction?
Delete1. Trust - Every relationship must have it. Do they have trust in each other? They say that they do. But when it comes to proving it, Dev always thinks that Sonakshi is going to screw up and Sonakshi thinks the same hence she relies on Jatin to work as her partner.
2. Respect - Do they have it for each other? Then why they each work behind each other's back? Why none of them have trust in each other's capability to handle a serious situation or crisis?
3. Understanding - Do they have it? They try to justify each other in their mind but I still haven't seen any of them asking each other for help and support.
Then how they became the end game? If you ask me, the moment they come back together with their unaltered, unchanged attitude - the game ends there and you might as well start counting backwards how soon their stint will end this time.
LOL @Ishwari wanting to shoo both Sona and Soha away and have Dev all for herself. If Dev ever says he doesn't want Soha either, Ishwari will shed a tear and eventually rejoice that she has Dev all for herself. This show is getting ridiculous by the day. How about a fun marriage track? Shaadi toh hone se rahi. They can introduce a really annoying girl who tortures the hell out of Ishwari and GKB. After all the torture, she can eventually run away a day before the wedding with all of GKB's jewelry :D That would be more entertaining to watch than whatever nonsense they are showing right now.
ReplyDeleteP.S. Read a spoiler that Sona might leave to Bose house and am assuming Dev and Soha stay back here. Yeah, it goes in line with the mess that is the show right now.
P.S.S. Astrix here
Actually sona should let soha stay with dev and he should be made to take care of soha with his mother and then I want the makers to show how a man who couldn't take out his own dress manages his own kid and golu. And I want him to struggle trying to balance soha golu his mom. And I would like to add his business but I guess it runs by itself.
DeleteDev Babu will run away and this time may not come back even after 7 days! LOL
DeleteThat's a great idea. Except Dev will dump both the kids on Ishwari and disappear. He is more like an uncle who spoils the kids than a parent.
DeleteThere are two questions that have been disturbing me.
ReplyDeleteFirst one is about that blasted prenup. I fail to understand why Ishwari agreed to put a clause in there that effectively writes off Dev's kids , in the event of a separation. And then she threatens to go away if Dev & Sona don't give her a grandchild. And now she is pining for the same grandchild. That clause somehow doesnt go well with her core characterization. And the writers are practically mum about the prenup. But honestly , that clause alone gives Bijoy and Sona all the right to keep Soha away from Ishwari.
Secondly , I don't get why Dev is made to mock Bijoy while I have never heard Sona utter a single thing . Why the double standards ? Because Sonakshi being a woman has to maintain the ideal bahu image at all costs ?
Dev mocks bejoy it's called harmless fun, sona calls out dev on being mummas boy it's called being hurtful. I too am trying to figure the logic behind this.
DeleteGood questions, SummerRain! :D Wonder when we will get the answers. On second thought will we get any answers! ;)
DeleteForget about the prenup. It seems like many other plots, CVs have swept swept it under the carpet.
DeleteDev mocks Bijoy because Sonakshi doesn't retaliate or erupt when he does it. She pretends it's for fun. Sonakshi wants to be in Dev's good books and she knows that Dev can't hear anything against his mother, hence she doesn't dare to mock Ishwari. She makes fun of Dev like Dev makes fun of her. But his mother is off limits.
Our family and loved ones respect lie in us. If we don't stand up for them, then how can we expect someone else will give them their due respect. No one in Bose family stands up for Bijoy and he always stands up for every one of his family's respect. He might bother his family, but he never lets anyone else do the same.
After seeing the happiness that people are feeling over saurabhs rant on his father I feel like an exception. Bejoy is loud and irrational sometimes but he never plots and plans to destroy people's happiness and their lives. He loves his daughter immensely and wants to protect her from getting hurt again. But he had to be blasted but never the male leads mother because she is goddess. The number of times dev humiliated and degraded bejoy in front of sona can't be counted on fingers. But if dev so much as says uff against his mother it has be when he is drunk. If he blasted his mother like saurabh did with bejoy the same public will call him a thankless son. They will expect him to be soft and polite about it
ReplyDeleteThe disparity in treatment of the girl and her family and the boy and his family is the reality of our society I guess. This is reflected in the show.
Also , when the Boses were thrown out of their home I did not see Saurabh 'man up' up and confron Dev for such a despicable act. And the same guy is now questioning his father ? Its a joke. Honestly, I have always felt bad about the way Bijoy treated Saurabh. But if Saurabh really had a problem with that he should address that and not use Sona's problem as an excuse to lash out.
DeleteAbsolutely agree with you Kavitha. I don't understand the differential treatment of Ishwari and Bijoy by their son & daughter-in-law and son-in-law & daughter respectively. Why immense respect for Ishwari and why almost no respect for Bijoy!
DeleteI agree with you Kavi. Just imagine if Sonakshi had insisted Dev to leave Dixit Mansion in the middle of the night without informing Ishwari, how that will be received there? Yep. So Sonakshi let that happen. It's Sonakshi because of whom Dev dares to mock her family and it's Dev because of whom Sonakshi doesn't dare to mock his mother. Just like it was Dev's silence because of which his family dared to insult his wife and now it's Asha's silence because of which Saurabh can talk to his father in that tone in front of his mother. Didn't Asha gave Sonakshi a lecture on how she should treat the father of her daughter? Doesn't it apply to the father of her children who is also her husband?
DeleteTia, your writeup on partnership is too good! I am feeling sorry for Bijoy, a stickler of principle and rules. When they made the rules they should abide by it, otherwise 1 week at each place will shortly become 10 days at IN and 4 days in Bose House(BH) which in turn can become 13 days and few hours in IN and few hours in BH. :D Anyways the departure time from BH will be 12am sharp because Dev can't spend more than a required minute in BH. ;)
ReplyDeleteI was totally at loss at the callous attitude of Dev towards his ex-FIL whereas Sona is busy respecting her ex-MIL and trying to help her.
Saurabh might have an ulterior motive now that he is married he may not like the idea of Sona along with Soha and Dev staying at BH. So far Raunita and Sona have not stayed together under one roof. The last time when Sona stayed Saurabh was getting married so functions were going on, all relatives are expected to stay together at that time. Now he may be apprehensive that how Raunita will take Sona's presence. Otherwise the son who never replied back to his father in that tone Sona's decisions won't have prompted to behave like that with his father. Asha also I think does not want Sona back for the same reason. But Bijoy has loved his daughter and Soha truly. So evev if he was out of station he ensured that he come on time to receive Sona and Soha unlike Ishwari who despite knowing Soha will stay at IN hardly bothered to come back on time.
I don't think it was sauravs character or psyche talking against bijoy/Sona. The CVs needed a mouthpiece to bash bijoy and they chose him cause there was none else. Asha was busy with her oh me poor soul Expression and raunita needed to be good bahu so left saurav. Remember he already once had a tantrum during dining table scene. The show is all about randomness now . Tomorrow' if suddenly Golu starts badmouth his dad or become attached to Elena like he was to dev won't be surprised
DeleteI guess you are right. I saw Saurabh's outburst as his pent up frustarions for years coming to the fore. But it could be that CVs wanted a mouthpiece to bash Bijoy. And with this, the makers are turning this to a story of two people desperately in love but caught up in the ego issues of their parents and how they will over come these challenges to reunite.
DeleteYou guys are right. We have never seen Saurabh talking like this to Bijoy. So just wanted to have some logical explanation to explain to my logical mind. :D You see for IN, I keep my brain on one side but I am still attached to Bose paribar and love Baba Bijoy :)
DeleteExactly. In an attempt to whitewash Dev and Ishwari, they are using Saurabh and Asha. Asha was regressive but she was never a Dev's blind fan until he was married to Sona. She was the one who asked Sona to fight for her self-respect and she was the one who wanted Sona to move on with Jatin. But suddenly she has become Dev ki Meera. Saurabh has more reason to dislike Dev since he broke his sister's heart twice. Last time he complained to his parents that everything revolves around Sona here. Yet he interferes in everything about Sona. Why? Did Bijoy interfere in his marital life? If they are all adults, why not let Sona be the adult and take her decision and stick to it? Why does she wilt everytime someone questions her decision?
DeleteI like your write up on partnership Tia.
ReplyDeleteI didnot like Sourabh at all. I dont like Bijoy getting disrespected.
Slept over the epi yday.
With every duty, u got rights too. When Sona needed her parents, they helped her in Soha's upbringing.
Arent they supposed to have some attachment? Sourav,Asha are behaving as if they were just waiting for Dev to reappear in Sona's life. Sona shud have asked Bijoy's permission before taking that decision herself. Ishwari's feelings are important, not Bijoy's who filled in for Dev all these 6 yrs.
Bijoy was not dictating his terms. He was asking for his right over Soha. Being a parent, the law gives her the right but morally, since she herself took her parents help while working on her job, her parents are entitled for some right. Moreover, why did Asha not share the same to Bijoy earlier? He enters and overhears and then over-reacts...why blame him when rest all are busy hiding things from him.
precap: *yuck*...so 6 yrs you stay with someone, and one day with another, you got no attachment for your dadu but want to stay with dadi....that is complete BS the CVs r showing. No normal kid behaves this way. My SIL n her daughter are perfect examples. The kid never got any love from her dadi and only a day and she is questioning...now I doubt if she is a true Bose..like those who never cared about Bijoy or even understand him...she too never missed him where as he is always bothered about them both.
I liked Dev-Sona convo. For a moment, I thot Dev will go into self-sacrificing mode and tell yes to marriage hearing his mom talk like that and realising he is bad for Sona. But I guess, in this respect krpkab is different.
Also liked how Dev gave some respect to Bijoy. Sona as well.
whatever they show, my love for Bijoy remains as strong as ever...only he is the victim of circumstances and backstabbing of his own family members. Rest all are goody-two-shoes.
Sourabh is good-for-nothing idiot. He shud swap places with Dev for a day to understand what dictatorship actually means. Did Bijoy interfere in his marital life that he was shouting like that?
His daughter, he gave 6 yrs of his life to take care of her, his right. Who is Sourabh to interfere?
And yes, most importantly, rules shud be rules and shud not be bend for anyone. Least Ishwari maate.
Lastly, someone tell me when did Soha promise Ishwari she is going to stay with her? Wasnt it Sona who broke the news!! Kuch bhi..eh CVs?
Loved your take Gaurimisha. :)
DeleteWell said guari kuch bhi ...soha is behaving like Asha all mahaan who knows they can also show soha doesn't need her mom and has replacement in form of ishwari....what nonsense.
DeleteBijoy is perfect they showing as if he is vamp and sourabh from last week they showing him as if he is the boss of the family they ruined bose family to justify dixits .
Only ppl who are still in character is Vicky and gkb rest all dumb and sona is irritating these days ...
I wish she lose soha hopefully she realize what has she got in to
You are right, Gauri. They are trying to show Bijoy as a villain for expecting a fair arrangement. Ishwari was away the entire duration of Soha's stay trying to wash her sins, but Bijoy worked his schedule around so that he can be with Soha when she comes back.
DeleteSo he has right to be upset. He didn't want this arrangement, no one asked him. When they forced it on him, suddenly he is a villain for demanding the terms are maintained? His way might be wrong, but his point is valid.
What if this bias had happened in Bose house? If Ishwari came asking for fair treatment, would anyone blame her?
This is the attitude society has towards the mother of the son and father of the daughter. And we wonder why gender discrimination exist.
You perfectly summed it up gauri!
DeleteThanks jas,kavi and shailu.
DeleteAs Tia said, its beyond me why son's mother and daughter's father are treated in different ways.
My parents and in-laws both look after my son when I go to office. Inspite of that he has got a nanny when he is with my in-laws and even I wfh. But my parents refused to have the nanny around as they want to spend more time with him. So, whenever my parents want to meet him , myself and my hubby make sure their wish is met. They too love my son a lot. My hubby understands it. We have to give the right where it is due. My MIL doesnot like it , no one cares to listen.
Being a son's mother does not entitle you to have exclusive rights, your actions do. If the daughter's father does more than a son's mother, he is entitled for his right on his grand daughter. Society is always unfair in this matter.
I still dont understand where was Bijoy wrong to have brought about such reaction from Sourabh. Is it all about Devakshi shipping which the whole Bose family is involved in? I fear this.
I completely agree. Your last line just might be the the reality of Bose house. If Asha and Saurabh have a way, they will bow and scrape on Dixit doorstep so that they take back their liability.
DeleteHi Tia,
ReplyDeleteLoved your write-up and analysis.
First of all, what you said about Sona depending on Jatin is so true. They both work as a team together and it works just fine. Yet, they throw in dialogues about love and trust for Devakshi because that is what the audience wants to hear. Anyone can see that Dev and Sona have no foundation to build their relationship on.
Coming on to Bijoy....he is a well-meaning guy who is most of the times right but his temper shadows it all. Even, yesterday he was justified in getting angry. Sona doesn't give two hoots about her family and keeps making decisions for everyone all by herself. But Bijoy really needs to learn to talk in a better manner.
About Sourabh, I am actually pretty confused. He is saying the right things at the wrong time. I get it that he is frustrated about Bijoy always demeaning him. But why is he using Sona's issues as a crutch to vent out? And like you pointed out, whenever it is convenient for him, he cowers behind Bijoy. If he has an issue with Bijoy then he needs to take it up with him in his own time and not compare the situation to Sona.
And I saved the worst for last, Asha. She is unbelievable. I never thought that I would ever dislike her character so much. The way she is behaving like she knows best; it gets on my nerves. And the way she is treating Bijoy!! She doesn't trust him at all, she never supports him or respect his opinions. Moreover, these days all she does is either push Sona to be a sati-savitri or plays the victim card for being married to a guy like Bijoy.
The show has gone down the drain in my opinion and I have actually stopped caring about it. The only reason I watch it now is because I adore Erica.
You made good points, Mauli. Yes, Bijoy is abrupt and rude. He needs to calm down. Whatever he is saying is fair. But the value is getting reduced due to his attitude. If he had called Sona out and only spoke to her about this in a cool manner, his words will have more impact.
DeleteI don't get Soha's sudden craze over her newfound family over her always attentive family. She is getting her father with her in both places. In fact she has seen more of her father in Bose house than at Dixit house.
How much time has she spent with Ishwari anyway? I can only recall a handful of scenes.
Anyhoo, nothing makes sense these days so just watch with your head in the locker.
Seriously, don't get me started on Soha's daadi bhakti...where is all this affection coming from?? And what exactly has Ish done to deserve such devotion from her??
DeleteAll of a sudden, daadi is the best!!! Asha-bijoy who!!!
I know, right? Suddenly Dadi love is being channelled from Mummy and Daddy out of nowhere.
DeleteHey Tia, Me again.... I wanted to say something in your last post as well but it never got posted so here it goes....
ReplyDeleteI am unable to post here. So if this reply gets posted, I will jump with joy.
Tia, I had understood long back that this show is not at all a romantic show (Dadi bua track) so I changed my expectations and started viewing it as a psychological experiment like I told you. This helped me keeping my expectations low and not getting fired up on seeing things being presented illogically since everything happening in the show can be explained psychology.
So, tia some psychology for you.
If you have time on you, do search for rescuer syndrome and white knight syndrome (terrorizing and overly empatic). It will explain some behaviors shown on the show.
Also surface and deep acting are the techniques used to hide emotions. ENJOY
OMG... Bang on anaysis. That was a great point. This is what I found. By the way, do you want to write your posts here? Then send me your email address and I will give you author's access so that you can write your own take using psychology. I think that will be an interesting read.
DeleteRescuer Syndrome is quintessential Sonakshi and Dev has white knight complex. Since Sonakshi refuses to be a victim, he first makes situation where she is a victim and then wants to rescue her from it.
Rescuer Syndrome - Rescuer Syndrome is when a non-personality-disordered individual assumes that their own strength, skill and knowledge are adequate to compensate for a personality-disordered individual's behavioural issues.
Many Chosen Non-PD’s are fixers, rescuers and well-meaning individuals who try to use their own ability to bring about change in others through the power of influence, persuasion, coercion or charm.
Examples of Fixers & Rescuers
- A fiance whose future spouse explodes in a fit of rage, but who chooses to go ahead with the wedding thinking "I can change him/er after the wedding"
- A husband in an abusive relationship who decides to "love her through the pain"
An abused wife who decides not to seek out professional help, preferring to "try harder to work on herself".
- A partner in a relationship who tries to keep the peace through making everything "perfect" for their partner at home.
- A parent with a personality-disordered child who seeks solutions by being a better parent.
- A child of a personality-disordered parent who tries to win their favour through academic performance.
White Knight Syndrome - Typically, white knights have a history that includes many of the following:
• Self-defeating behaviour that may involve substance abuse
• Heightened awareness in childhood of a parent's hardships
• Childhood neglect
• Childhood emotional, physical, or sexual abuse
• Loss or threat of loss of a significant caregiver in childhood
• Repeatedly finding partners who need rescuing
A white knight typically has many of the following character traits:
• Fears emotional distance
• Is very emotionally vulnerable and sensitive
• Has a tendency to idealise the partner
• Has an extreme need to be viewed as important or unique
• Tends to be self-critical or re actively blames, devalues, and manipulate others
In relationships, a white knight tends to show many of the following behaviours:
• Is attracted to a needy partner or a partner with a history of trauma, loss, abuse, or addiction
• Fears being separated from the partner, losing the partner's love or approval, or being abandoned by the partner
• Engages in controlling behaviour, often under the guise of helping
• Maintains or restores connection with the partner by being extremely helpful or good
• Responds ambivalently to the partner's success
• Describes a sense of "oneness" with the partner
• Fails to recognise the partner's manipulative behaviours
• Is seduced by the sexual or dramatic behaviour of the partner
• Evokes strong feelings in the partner in order to avoid his or her own emotional discomfort
• Maintains hope for a gratifying relationship by denying the reality of the partner's issues
See it helped. Now it will be easy to view them as psychological patients and sympathize with em lol.
DeleteHowever, Sonakshi is also suffering from white knight syndrome (overly empatic). Dev suffers from white knight syndrome (terrorizing).
My point here was that you find psychology interesting, so I wanted to help you with psychology. It was not to change your view regarding the show.
Tia, I am busy with exams so won't be able to make posts. Plus, you are way better than me in writing
@JN if you want to talk to me, lets be straight forward.... since, i was the one who said the show uses psychology and sociology as it's base.
No worries. It was just a suggestion. Thanks for suggesting the terms. :)
DeleteThis was very useful!!!👏👏👏
DeleteHey Tia, I had written something on the weekly analysis thread regarding this. If you wanna read this, I can share the link.
Deletehttp://www.india-forums.com/forum_posts.asp?TID=4840103&TPN=23
P.S Sonakshi suffered from white knight syndrome during the marriage.
@BashingHater, I hope you didn't take what I said as an offense, I was talking in general, didn't mean to target anyone. I like psychology and I'm a silent reader of the weekly discussion thread, I think there are many members there who also use psychology and some other concepts to analyse characters' behavior and personality, I like Suyash's writing as well and many other writers there as well as yours, so my post was meant in a positive way and in a general way it wasn't addressed to someone in particular :)
Delete@JN
DeleteSo watch for the fluff or for whatever delusional sense we might make using sociology, psychology, anthropology... to convince ouselves to keep liking or at least understanding the characters, otherwise we can just opt out when we can't stand it anymore and find nothing to be liked!
Can you explain the term delusional? Since dictionary.com defines it like this:
"characterized by or holding idiosyncratic beliefs or impressions that are contradicted by reality or rational argument, typically as a symptom of mental disorder."
You don't agree with my views. I don't mind but please don't call it delusional
This comment has been removed by the author.
DeleteMy purpose of pointing it out was not to insult you or mock but to show you that the word delusional is a negative word and should be used with care.
DeleteSorry, the psychology shithole(am I allowed to use the word) in me made me view it that terms and I am glad you explained it.
If you've read the weekly analysis, I often confuse myself with words and then I end up saying sorry to everyone LOL.
@BashingHater, I guess the use of the word was misplaced here I definetely didn't mean it as a mental disorder, and believe me it wasn't addressed to you or anyone else for that matter. What I meant was that we try to find logic using other disciplines when maybe writers didn't even think about it and they are just following the trend of tellywood (twists and drama), that's all! I never meant that your scientific approach was delusional, actually I find it very interesting so I guess I made a mistake using the word, and it wasn't about you I reiterate I was talking in general and maybe the use of the word was out of context. It wasn't personal at all!
Delete@BashingHater, I thought you took it personally, while it wasn't my intention at all, and I was including myslef in the lot too when I said that we try to find logic and understand characters' behavior using other disciplines (psychology, sociology, anthropology...) when Cvs maybe might have not thought along these lines.
DeleteLets call it a truce lol. You agree with me and I agree with you. Why argue for a shitty show?? Regarding the writers, no they don't know anything about psychology or sociology but indirectly they are using these two subjects which is why I told JShukla too that the show is watchable if you keep these two subjects in your mind.
DeleteI guess there is no need to try and find sense, because the case here is similar to what happens most of the time on indian tv, characterization changes to accommodate tracks and drama, any character can be butchered any time to bring in a twist or to allow some drama to happen! So obviously things will be contrived. So I guess no use to expect something great, some shows usually start with a bang and get you hooked with the nice characterization but with time things get messed up, only few shows could live up to expectations I mean character wise not track wise, only few characters could stay consistent through a whole show!
ReplyDeleteAs a viewer I don't have a problem with any track, any twist as long as characters are true to themselves, as long as they behave consistently, I have no problem with mistakes or misunderstandings as long as they are believable and as long as the character behaves according to their original characterization but I guess that's almost near to impossible on Indian tv
So watch for the fluff or for whatever delusional sense we might make using sociology, psychology, anthropology... to convince ouselves to keep liking or at least understanding the characters, otherwise we can just opt out when we can't stand it anymore and find nothing to be liked!
I agree. Viewers invest their time on a show because they connect with a certain character. But when for the sake of drama, the consistency is lost, then the character becomes unrecognisable. Then why would anyone stay connected to what brought them there in the first place?
DeleteWith the calibre of actors they got, the potential were immense. This could have been one of the iconic shows like Shaanti, Swabhimaan, Koshish etc. But instead, they have turned it into a saas-bahu saga. Even Shaheer had said that he hadn't signed up for this.
Sad but true, but this is the reality of indian tv now (I guess), at least the little I've seen, maybe it wasn't like this in the past and maybe there are exceptions I didn't see
DeleteIshwari needs treatment. She has no love for Soha. Its only and exclusively for Devrath Dixit. She is only a "Maa", not even a dadi.
ReplyDeleteI dont know if she knows her son at all. His happiness is bcoz of Sonakshi. Not only for Soha.
The way he is happy cant be just bcoz of Soha.
I'm not even trying to understand where she is coming from, I just dont want to see her manipulations.
If this time she tries to marry off Dev, I hope he leaves IN to stay in Bose house forever.
According to the new spoiler, she is going to give Dev a choice to either remarry Sona or someone else....otherwise she will go on hunger strike!! *Rolling my eyes* one guess as to what is going to happen then!!!
DeleteI hope then he changes his surname to Bose and becomes their adopted son...LOL
DeleteIshwari will defo leave her hunger strike and go running to Bose house...LOL
Sona se shaadi ka choice de rahi hai na....toh kar lena chahiye isko.
In btwn, hunger strike ka khayal nahi aaya in 7 yrs....why abhi? Bcoz raja beta is back to her*sigh*...why do I have a feeling that Dev,who never keeps his promise, will actually act true to his name and keep his promise to Sona of not saying about getting back together...which means he will agree to marry someone else for his promise to Sona. Then we will see Sona's deewangi..or something of that sort.
I'm hoping these ridiculous things are not shown in the show....its just that there is scope for all this to actually happen.
Why am I not surprised? Ishwari always uses blackmail to get her way and Dev always falls for it. Why use another weapon when the first one is getting you results? I think she thinks of herself as Rajmata Shivagami Devi who can order her son to marry a woman whether either of them wants to or not. But then, she doesn't have Bahubali as son who will refuse to do either.
Deleteguys good news this show is ending bollywood life.com confirmed it so as we assumed this show ending with no redemption half cooked tracks happy ending for sure ....finally we will move on ...no offense some what i am happy at least they end it before kicked out ...
ReplyDeleteShailu, how reliable are the spoilers? Anyways, it would have been a sad demise for a show with so much potential. That makes me sad. It's like how I feel when I start to read a good book and then the story goes into the garbage in the end.
Deletetrust me tia i too hate the show if it ends but the way story is shown hope it ends kya faida us story ka jaha bijoy -sona redemption is shown but not dev-ishwari ...a story needs to have consistency if not story is dud thats what it is and shaheer again goes to indonesia hampering the script yet again so better end it instead of fillers
DeleteI give up on reviving my DevAkshi love. I have had enough.
ReplyDeleteZyada se zyada SoTin SS me hi ek track likh dungi. Like are they even adults?!
Sure. Go ahead and write your story. I will be very happy to read it. :D
DeleteDoes the show imply that every child gets to scold their parents because hey they were strict with you and perhaps scolded you when you were wrong or took wrong decisions in life and all they wanted was correct you to make your life better. How did Saurabh turn like this. Is lecture and bhashan Devi okay with her son behaving like this with his father. Kya sanskaar diye hain Asha ji, kamaal hai. Double standards Dixits and Boses ke beech main ek seedha aur sacha insaan Bijoy kahan phas gaya.
ReplyDeleteYou are absolutely right. Why is Dev applauded for never speaking against Ishwari and Saurabh is praised for the exact opposite? If Saurabh has any issues of his own with Bijoy, he can talk about that. But Bijoy sees he is happy with Ronita, so he doesn't interfere in his life. Bijoy also saw that Sona wasn't happy with Dev and she already tried twice. Any parent will intervene if their child keep putting them in a situation which has already hurt them before. But it's the child's responsibility to say that if they don't want any intervention and also to give assurance that they won't come back crying again and they are taking responsibility for their own action. It's not Saurabh's right to use Sona or Ronita's problem to vent out his frustration because he doesn't have the courage to speak about his issues.
DeleteWill you write for episode 312 ?
ReplyDeleteI already wrote for all episodes. See my other posts. :)
