UK Trip - Day 7

Image
Today we woke up early because there were a lot more to see and we are only here until Friday.  We had our breakfast and left at 9 a.m. sharp. But then Greg thought he lost his blue rain jacket. So we had to make our way back because you can't go anywhere without rain jacket. But suddenly Greg remembered that he had stuffed his rain jacket in his bag. Sure enough. It's there. However, since we turned back anyway and the scenery is so gorgeous, we thought we might as well get some pictures. Make lemonade out of lemons so to speak. Today we decided to venture to Trotternish portion in the north. Tomorrow we will go to the south end.  We drove to The Old Man of Storr which is a rock formation on the cliff. It was great blue sky and sunshine when we saw from the highway, but turned cloudy and rainy when we got there. So we decided not to climb and instead just waited until the sun came out to take a picture, but didn't hike to the top.  From there we dr

Today we woke up really groggy also depressed that it was raining all day.  We went downstairs and had an excellent breakfast with sauted mushrooms, toast, baked beans, sausages, eggs and for the first time in my life, tried out Scot special Blood Pudding.  Believe it or not, I liked it. It has an aftertaste like kidney and liver but richer taste.  Anyhoo, after breakfast, we decided to have another hour of extra sleep. By the time we woke up, it was 12 noon.  We figured that since it's not a good weather, staying indoor would be a better idea. So we might as well drive two hour south to Mount Stuart which is a gorgeous home built by an eccentric millionaire.  But it closes at 5:45. So we had to hurry. On top of that, we briefly stopped to take picture of a gorgeous castle on the middle of a lake (Kilchurn Castle at Loch Awe...
