Tia's Thread - Come to My Parlour!!!

Hello everyone,

Next weekend is long weekend for us (Victoria Day for Ontario). So my husband and I will be in Stratford Saturday to Monday watching plays as is our yearly tradition - one by Shakespeare (Twelfth Night) and one a musical (Guys & Dolls). 

So I won't be writing this post next Monday, May 22nd.

But not to worry. I am leaving our very capable Ashi to open the thread and write it for you.

You know how incredibly funny and witty she is. I will drop in to respond/comment if we have time.

I will tell a story today. We all know the story. 

Once upon a time, there was a shepherd. He used to take his flock to the field with other shepherds. 

One day he decided to bother his friends and cried wolf. His friends came running for help. When they came there, they saw that he was laughing.

The next day he did the same and so did the day after.

His friends got tired of being made fools. So they decided not to believe him again.

One day a wolf indeed come and he screamed in terror.

But alas, no one came for his help and the wolf wiped out his herd.

Moral of the story: If you always tell lies, then when you really tell the truth and want people to believe in you, it's no longer worth anything.


The reason I shared this popular story is because no matter what Maiya and Bhaiya say or do, it's no longer worth anything to me. They have ruined their reputation to that extent in my eyes. 

Instead, I will look at Amarendra Bahubali and Devsena when I want to see how a REAL man loves a woman. 

P.S. And to all those people pm-ing me about which phone I bought, I bought Samsung Galaxy S8 Plus in Orchid Grey. If you want my recommendation, then highly recommended. This is an excellent phone as per my experience in two days of use. Lol...

EPISODE: Sorry. Super busy today. Today's update will be short and sweet.

The episode starts with Sona telling Dev to go home.

Dev doesn't wanna go. But Sona forcefully takes her away.

Me: What's new in there? He always had an escapist attitude. He doesn't want to face the truth or obstacles, he runs.


At Dixit house, Ishwari is more upset about Sonakshi knowing her reality than Dev knowing her reality. She is whining that Dev didn't talk to her.  

Me: Excuse me, Maata. Didn't you just a while ago threatened Dev that if he doesn't marry as per your demand, you won't talk to him or acknowledge him as your son? Then why are you so desperate to talk to him? He is doing what you threatened to do. 

However, I am not surprised at Ishwari being more concerned with Sonakshi knowing the truth. Because you see, she knows that her son is the blind moron whom she will get back into the motherhood hoax using the past sooner or later. But Sonakshi knowing the truth means her moral lecture on Sonakshi's upbringing and responsibility are permanently over. Now she can never point a single finger at Sonakshi without five finger pointing back at her.


Meanwhile Asha calls Elena looking for Sona. Elena doesn't know. Asha asks her to check Sona. 

Elena looks in Dev's room. Soha is sleeping there alone. Elena asks a new sample called JC where is Dev. He says that he saw Dev going out with Soha's mother. 

Elena relays the news to Asha.

Asha says that Bijoy thinks the same. That's why he is tensed.

Elena tries to ignite the interference gene in Asha, but she doesn't fall for it.

Me: Really? How did JC saw them together? Dev went to Sona's house and they went from there to Khatri's house. Then how did this new sample who never met Sona knew who she is and where they went?

Kuch bhi, haan CVs?


Asha turns around and sees Saurabh and Ronita standing.

Bijoy comes there and asks what happened and why are they standing so quietly.

Ronita changes the topic using food.

Bijoy suspects that they are hiding something from him.

Me: Yes, Bijoy. They are. And when you know, you will feel betrayed again. So why don't you learn from my story above and just don't believe anything they say? It will save you time. May be once they are no longer trusted, they will learn to speak truth.

On the other hand, you can also stop overreacting and let them ruin their life. You can't stop people from self-destructing. If they are hyper to commit suicide, they will find a way. 


At Khatri's house, he instigates mother and daughter against Dixits. Khatri says that they are begging for forgiveness because he threatened them with exposure in news channel. He says that they are rich people. They can get anyone killed.

Maalti aunty gets scared. She says that her daughter should not be harmed. 

Khatri says that nothing will happen to her daughter. He says he will manage everything.

Me: These people are grade A duffers. No wonder they are in such dire condition.

Aunty, here's some food for thought. 

If you have proof that Ishwari stole from you, go to police. Why are you behaving as if you stole from them? In fact, you can even go to the newspaper yourself. Not that 15 years old theft is that easy to be punished or to be proven in court.

If you don't have proof except Ishwari's confession, then no newspaper ever run your story. So Khatri has no leverage. 

If they really wanted to kill you, they could have accomplished at any time while you were traipsing through the street of Delhi at late night with your daughter. You have more to worry than Dev killing you with your idiotic stunt.

No wonder your daughter thinks the only thing she is good for is marriage. With that kind of presence of mind, I doubt she will get any job anywhere. 

But not to worry. We have another equally duffer groom ready for her. May be she will live up to the stupidity and never realise what a shitty bargain deal she got.


At Bose house, Bijoy is worried for Sona. He calls her. Sona doesn't pick up the phone even seeing her father on the line. She has a guilty expression on her face.

Then Bijoy calls Jatin and asks if Sona is with him. Jatin says no. Bijoy wonders where is Sona. Jatin says that he hasn't talked to Sona.

Bijoy is getting worried. He calls Sona again. She finally picks up the phone. She says that she will call him later.

Just then Bhaiya is about to crash the car to oncoming traffic, Sonakshi shouts, Dev and turns the steering.

Bijoy is shocked to hear that she is with Dev.

Me: Really? Why? It's not as if her track record is particularly trustworthy when it comes to Dev. Then why do you keep on believing her every time she says something about Dev and keep getting disappointed on your worthless daughter?

And Sonakshi, next time you get all offended about your father not believing you, ask yourself if you are worthy of anyone trusting you when it comes to Dev?

If you had done nothing wrong and your mind and heart are clear as freshly foreign snow, you'd have picked up the phone the first time it rang, told your father that you and Dev are out doing a certain chore and that you will be home late at a certain time. You could have told him that Dev needed your help in his family matter and you were helping him without going into details. 

But instead, you behaved as if your father caught you making out with your boyfriend and you don't have a handy best friend to lie for you.

So one thing you can take it from someone who is always honest, Sonakshi. When someone is honest and has done no wrong, they don't feel guilty. If you are feeling guilty, then neither you are honest and you know in your heart that you lied.


Bijoy comes to Asha and tells her that he knows that Sonakshi is with her ex-husband and that she told him that she will talk later and cut the call. Saurabh says so what? She must be busy in some work and she will call later.

Asha says that Bijoy is overreacting. Bijoy says that he thinks there is something going on. 

Me: And as usual, Bijoy is right again. He might be the most intuitive person in this entire show. His guesses and predictions are always on point.


At Dixit house, Radha is pacing trying to figure out how to separate Dev and Sona and Dev keeps running to her like little kid. 

Me: Don't you worry, Radha. Dev himself is enough to make sure no smart woman (except desperate ones like Kajal) ever consider him as life partner. He will pave the path himself with the help of his Mummy darling.



Just then Dev and Sona come. Dev hesitates in front of the door. Sona gives him lecture on how to handle his mother.

Me: Behena, pehle apne Papa ko handle kar lo, baad mein Bhaiya ko lecture dena. Haan? Bhaiya ko unke charan dhona aata hain. Us mein aapki training nehin chahiye. Saalon ka experience hain.

(Behena, first you handle your dad, then lecture Bhaiya on handling his Mummy. Bhaiya knows how to lick his Mummy's feet. He doesn't need training on that from you. He had been doing it for years).


Bhaiya do some more drama (Me: Ye Gods). 

Sona gives some more lecture (Me: Just kill me now).

Radha sees them and fuming that she will end their chapter now. She goes to get Vicky. (Me: Yes, please. Can't take this whiny child and child minder duo anymore).

Upstairs, Vicky is romancing Elena when Radha knocks.

Elena opens the door and Radha barges in. She tells him to come. 

She tells Vicky to stop them from being one.

Me: Then what? Where will you get free babysitter then? Huh? Who will operate this useless piece of good-for-nothing overgrown boy? Ishwari gotta go some time. Jail, hell, who cares?


Anyhoo, Sona drags her charge in. Ishwari comes there with hang dog expression. Both mother and son look at everywhere but not to each other.

Dev is thinking about what Maalti said about Ishwari and what he said about Ishwari being his God in the past to Sonakshi. 

Sonakshi decides to prove what a great and generous woman she is to score brownie points. She tells Ishwari how in her absence, they came to know about Khatri's blackmail. That's why they tried to investigate and found Maalti and Kajal. 

Ishwari doesn't once look at Sona. 

Sonakshi also tells her that since she came back, she thought that Dev and her are together. They are just co-detective. There is nothing else between them. If anyone told you otherwise, they are lying.

Radha and Vicky come there and fumes hearing Sonakshi.

Me: Sonakshi, ab bas kar meri Maa. Ghar jaa. Ishwari ko teri shakal nehin dekhni hain. Tereko aur kitne hint chahiye yaar? Apni izzat ki ittu sa bhi parwa nehin hain kya? 

(Sonakshi, now let it be. Go home. Ishwari doesn't even want to see your face. How many hints do you need? Do you not care even a little bit about your respect?)



Mamaji and Elena also suddenly appear out of thin air. Mamaji asks what is Sonakshi talking about?

Dev says that his mother is upset with something about him.

Ishwari stops him. She says that neither she will lie now, not she will let her son lie any more. 

Me: Haila!!! Sachhi? Phir app dono maun vrat le rahe ho kya? Nehin, matlab jab bhi aap dono muh kholte ho, to jhooth hi by default nikalta hain naa...

(Haila!!! Really? Are you guys taking a vow of silence? I mean whenever you two open your mouth, you lie by default, no?)


Sonakshi: Auntyji...

Ishwari looks at her: What outsiders now know, family should know it too.

Bhaiya is silent.

Me: Lol... Aukat!!! Haath mein thama diya Sona ki Aunty drama. As in tu kaun bey.

(Ishwari handed Sonakshi her aunty drama. As in who the eff are you again)

Didn't I say that if Sonakshi conveniently dies giving Ishwari Soha's custody, then only she will get a place in Dixit house (on a desk inside picture frame with garland hanging off it)?

Badi aayee thi family banane. (She came to make them her family). *SNORT*

Ab kidhar gaya yeh tera ghar, yeh mera ghar? Ab to tu totally beghar.

(Now where is this is your home, this is my home? Now you are total homeless)

Look even Bhaiya agrees.


Ishwari says that she committed sin. She can't take the burden anymore.

Bhaiya: You committed no sin. That was a mistake. And even God makes mistakes. Why can't you make mistakes as well?

Me: Uh, wait. Which sin are we discussing? (Whips out the large notebook) The first one of theft or the second one of ruining her daughter's life or the third one of ruining her son's marriage, or the fourth one of keeping Soha away from Dev...

Tia's brain: The first one, you moron. The current discussion is on the first one.

Me: Oh like her being born?

Tia's brain: Not in dinosaur era. A little later.

Me: Her getting married and reproducing kids?

Tia's brain: Not that far away either...

Me: Ah, depriving Neha of education?

Tia's brain (frustrated): You need coffee. No. Move some more.

Me: Ah, the stealing.

Tia's brain: Yes....

Me (sulking): Well, did you see how long her list of sin is? Anyone will get confused.


Ishwari: No Dev. When I did it, it was a mistake. When I hid it, it was a sin.

Me: You hid so many things, Maate. Unko add karne laagi to sau notebook bhi kam par jayenge. 

(If I start adding them, even hundred notebooks won't be enough)


Radha asks what sin did Ishwari do? 

Ishwari starts to speak.

Dev tries to stop her from speaking saying that she did no sin. Whatever she did, she did it for them. 

Me: Haan to bhaiya, reason to har criminal ke paas hota hain. Lekin iska matlab yeh thodi hain ki crime, crime naa raha?

(Well, Bhaiya, every criminal has a reason to commit crime. That hardly means that crime is no longer a crime)

Ishwari says that if she doesn't speak today, she won't be able to live. 

Me: Only because you got caught, Maate. Had you not got caught, you'd have swallowed it today as well.


Bhaiya again tries to stop. But Maata goes into lecture mode: A son has rights on mother's love, not mother's guilt. I have to do this alone. Today my son's head got lowered because of me. 

Me: Hain? Really? Well, then why did you try to deprive your son of his so-called rights if he doesn't do as you say? Where did his rights go then?

And Maata, this is not the first time his head got lowered because of you. The only difference is that he can't deny it this time. But every time he broke promises made to his wife, every time he watched his wife getting insulted and humiliated, every time he could not be a good husband because he was busy dancing to your whims, his dignity and respect as a man and a husband got lowered until he has zero credibility as either. 

The only difference is that because then the victim was his wife, he didn't acknowledge it. But today, the other family didn't let it pass like his wife kept doing.


Mamaji asks what did she do?

Ishwari says that I stole. She thought she just stole two bangles for her family's happiness. But she didn't just steal two bangles, she stole that family's dreams.

Me: Hain? Itna drama sirf do bangles ke liye? Do bangles chori hone pe shaadi toot gayee, Maalti ke pati parlok sidhar gaye aur do ladkiyan permanent single status mein chali gayee? Aisa kaun sa kangan che? 

(So much drama for two bangles? Just for two bangles marriage broke up, Maalti's husband died and two girls got permanent single status tattoed on their head? What kind of bangles were they?)

Everyone is shocked.

Ishwari is lamenting how she stole one family's happiness to make her children happy. How what she taught Dev, she could not walk on the same path. She was her son's pride, now she is his shame.

Me: Maata, utna past mein jaane ki jaroorat nehin hain. Aapne to poore Bose khandan ki khushiyan cheen li including aapka beta, khud ko khush karne ke liye. To ab itna nautanki kyun?

(Maata, no need to go so much in the past. You stole the entire Bose family's happiness and including your son to make yourself happy. Then why so much drama?)

Aur aapne kab woh kaam kiya jiska bhashan jharti thi? Kya aapne ek advice Neha aur Sona ko diya? Tab aapko nehin laga ki aap sharm ke layak ho?

(When did you ever did what you preached? Did you give Neha and Sona same advice? Then you didn't think that you are more suited to be ashamed of?)


Just then Ishwari gets heart attack. (Convenient).

They all go to check.

Radha blames Sona that whenever she steps foot in this house, something wrong happens. 

Dev is panicking.

Sona checks Ishwari's pulse and says that it seems that Ishwari had a heart attack.

Me: Now I am not a doctor. But it seems in this show all diagnostics are done through pulses. People check pregnancy through pulse, heart attack is diagnosed through pulse. If there is any medical professional out there, could you please explain to me why are we sent to test labs and fork out a small fortune doing tests if you guys can diagnose everything by checking pulse?

Sona can't cure her daughter's simple fever. But she is a champ in diagnosing every sickness of every Dixits, except her own fake pregnancy. 

But at least she got paid her fees for her excellent service to Dixit house. She had been termed as unlucky, the source of all ill. Congratulations. I hope your hard work was worth it. Now get lost.


Saurabh is about to leave: Same drama again...

Ronita tries to stop him.

Saurabh says that he is going to bed.

Bijoy says that he doesn't worry for Sona and Soha. He can go to bed. It's five in the morning.

Saurabh says that they worry as much he does. But they don't create scenes at five am in the morning.

Bijoy says that he is not creating tension. Could not she inform us where she went with Dev this late?

Asha is making faces.

Me: Are you serious, Asha? When Bijoy had kicked both Dev and Sona at 2 a.m. in the morning, you created ruckus for him throwing a married couple out so late. And here the same daughter is out all night until 5 a.m. in the morning with her ex (they are no longer married, no matter how much you wish or imagine otherwise) and you think Bijoy is overreacting? So only his reaction are invalid at all times regardless how he reacts and you are always right? Such a hypocrite.


Saurabh says that when Sona was staying at Dev's home, it was okay for Bijoy then.

Bijoy says that it was not okay for him. Even then he had protested. Sona sweared on his head but she is still roaming with Dev.

Saurabh says that there must be something to do with Soha. She will handle it.

Bijoy says that if this was about Soha, then she should most definitely inform them. She should remember that they raised Soha, not the Dixits.

He doesn't want to argue with Saurabh. He tries to call Sona again.

Saurabh takes away his phone. He says that Bijoy won't call Sona. He has no right to interfere in her life. If anyone should call, it's him. He will call Sona.

Bijoy lets him.

Me: So Sonakshi was out all night. If I understand manners correctly, parents expect at least a call in that scenario as long as children live under their roof. Parents' home is not a hotel where you can come and go as you please. 

I remember even when I was an adult, as long as I lived with my mother, she expected a call with my whereabouts and what I am up to. She never stopped me from doing anything, but that's the least she expected. But the same Sona who used to ask Ishwari permission to join her job, doesn't bother informing her family what she is up to. Because if Bijoy worries (since no one else will), then he can do as he pleases. Who cares? 

Okay, so she could not call Bijoy before. What stopped her to call Bijoy before going inside Dixit house? Nothing. But did she do it? No. Doesn't she know how to check her cell phone for time?

She had time to talk to Ishwari to give Dev's whereabouts. But not to her dad. 

Sonakshi takes Bijoy for granted for the people who treats her like shit and call her outsider on her face. Shame on her.



At Dixit house, Sonakshi gives Ishwari her medicine and Bhaiya is as usual useless in crisis.

He is whining.

Sonakshi tells him to take Ishwari to hospital.

Sonakshi gets Saurabh's call. She hurriedly tells him that she doesn't have time to talk to him. Ishwari had a heart attack and they are taking her to hospital.

She hangs up the phone.

Saurabh tells his family that Ishwari had a heart attack.

Everyone gets shocked.

Saurabh says that they took her to city hospital.

Bijoy wonders why suddenly Ishwari got heart attack?


Me: I am wondering the same. And I am also wondering why didn't she get the same heart attack when Dev was screaming at her for breaking his marriage with the prenup and left her. This time he was actually supporting her.


Bhaiya sits in the car to drive, all fever and weakness totally gone. Radha sits beside him and Sona sits in the back with Ishwari on her lap.

Radha complaints what was the need to give trauma to delicate darling Ishwari?

Sona tells her to shut up.

Then she tells unconscious Ishwari nothing will happen to her.

Me: Sure. Whatever... Moving on. 

*Whispers to God*: Yehin mauka hain, utha lo re.

(Now's the chance. Take her)


Asha and Saurabh get ready to go to hospital. Ronita wants to come.

But Asha says that Ronita should stay back. There must not be too many people allowed in the hospital. 

They are about to leave when Asha stops. 

She returns back.

Bijoy asks what happened?

Asha asks Ronita to get Bijoy's medicine and tells her that she will tell her when to give which medicine.

Ronita leaves.

Asha says to Saurabh to take out the car.

Saurabh leaves.

Asha turns to Bijoy: Seriously Bijoy? You are not coming with me?

Bijoy: Asha, that woman...

Asha: What that woman, Bijoy? Bijoy, misunderstanding happens in friends and relatives. But in this kind of situations, people should forget little problems and stand by each other. Since when did you become so insensitive Bijoy? 

Me: Really? The thing is Asha that whatever may Bijoy be, he is not a hypocrite. He can't pretend.

1. Are they your friends? Are they your relatives? Then where were they when you were homeless and depending on Sona to get you where you are today? What did Dev Dixit or his family ever do for you beyond getting you sugar free cake and lots of fake pleasantries and flattery to keep you happy?

2. Bijoy got heart attack twice. Once when the same family kicked you out and again when you locked Dev and him. Which member of that friends/relatives visit him? None. That's how many. Dev was there the second time because he was present during the heart attack. He was not there the first time because he didn't bother to find out what happened to you after you got thrown on the streets.

So continue your hypocrisy. I am sure Ishwari will survive with Bijoy's fake pretence. You got more than enough going there.


Asha says: For you your ego is more than anything. You think only you are right and everyone else is wrong. But everyone can't be wrong naa? The surprising thing is that Bijoy that the man I married, he was stubborn. But he could see people's pain. When things comes to life and death even strangers stand up to help. And we had relationship with that family at some point of time. We were one family. You changed. You have so much hate and anger in you. One thing for sure Bijoy. I didn't expect this from you. I am highly disappointed.

Me: But I expected exactly this from you Asha. Yet I am disappointed.

You see, strangers don't go to strangers' home hearing their problem. They go when an incident happens in front of them. Like Sonakshi helped Ishwari when she first met her even without knowing her. But would she have visited Ishwari then if Ishwari hadn't fainted in front of her? I doubt it. 

Would you visit a stranger reading about him in newspaper? Why not? Because you don't really care.

People like you Asha would rather show their greatness by going to hospital. Almost like giving attendance that I was here.

People like Bijoy don't pretend. They go when they know that they care. It's not about showing up or showing the family that see, here we are. This is the proof that we care. It's about you have such a reputation of being honest that when you show up, that's a statement in itself. 

But don't worry. 80% people in the world prefer hypocrisy. I personally hope that not a single person show up by my bedside pretending to care when they really don't when I am sick or dying. 

If I have to guess, Bijoy is one of them.


They bring Ishwari to hospital. Bhaiya's whining continue, Behena's job to pacify the whiny baby continue. They hug.

Me: If Bhaiya hasn't already screwed my patience with whining before this, then I could have let this one go. But my patience is shot right now after hearing his constant whining. So I am this close to say, for God's sake, shut the eff up. Good lord, my little 5 year old nephew doesn't whine as much as him.


Radha and Vicky come there and they get shocked seeing them hug.

Me: Haan to aap baby sit karo. Khud kahan gayab ho jaate ho Sonakshi ke upar inko thop ke?

(Then you baby sit. Why do you disappear leaving Sonakshi in charge of this overgrown kid?)


PRECAP: Bhaiya is begging in front of God: You wanted me to beg in front of you naa? I am begging in front of you. Get my mother well.

Me: As per TV serial rule, God always grant wish. But like last time He granted wish with a twist (as in Sona preggy after she ran away), could he save Maata and paralyse her tongue forever? 

That will be a huge blessing for everyone.
