Tia's Thread - Emotional Atyachaar
Today's title of the thread was inspired from SummerRain7's comment from last post.
I am slightly modifying the song to suit Maataji. Arz kiya hain...
Tauba tera Halwa
Tauba piche se waar
Tera Emotional Atyachaar...
(Hail your Halwa
Hail your stab from the back
Hail your emotional torture)
So today I thought I'll write the condition of my mental state after watching Maataji hailed as heroine as if she has singlehandedly discovered cure for cancer, Aids and is now global ambassador of Gandhi giri (Peace and love and unicorn shit).
I started watching the show because the concept was unique. This was not a typical saas-bahu drama as in evil plotting mother-in-law, doormat daughter-in-law shedding copious tears, stupid clueless son who can't see reality even if it comes out wearing tutu and dance samba in front of his face.
Shows how stupid I was, no?
Turns out, this one too is exactly what is described above.
So because the general consensus is that this is reality, here's the reality I know.
1. Core personality of people don't change unless they themselves want to change and in that case, they make an effort to change it. Everyone learns from their past mistakes if there is sufficient motivation. Usually that motivation is someone you love more than life itself. That is obviously not the case here.
2. People who consistently are jerk, they don't get pardoned so easily.
3. People who lie constantly are not believed again, ever!!! Unless the other person is a moron, in which case, they should be assigned a baby sitter or a psychiatrist or both.
4. Grown up people whining is NOT attractive. In fact it's downright annoying. No one wants to hang around Debby Downer.
5. Someone who commits a crime like stealing (Stealing two bangles are still stealing. If they are not, I'd like to drop in Tanishq and PC Chandra Jewellers and try to grab a couple of diamond studded ones), fraud (taking someone's signature without their known consent, is called fraud and is a punishable offence in ALL countries), conspiracy, mental abuse, emotional blackmail are not treated like Goddesses. That is not anywhere close to reality anywhere.
6. A woman who was kicked out of a guy's life twice, going back there to save his family as "her" family (who by the way never considered her as a family) does not translate in real life as generous or big heart. It translates as moron and needs a psycho analysis for the pathetic need for approval.
7. A man who has selective hearing, loses functions of his brains the moment Mummy gives command yet expects to have an independent woman as his wife should get his head checked.
8. A girl's father who stands up for the mistreatment of his daughter and always fighting for her respect and honour is not a villain. Every woman should have a father like that instead of the ones who tells their daughter to go back to her abusive in-laws because he loves his image and reputation in society more than his own flesh and blood.
9. A mother who tries to send her daughter back from where she was thrown out off twice, who insulted her husband and her son and showed no sign of even a teeny-tiny remorse, is not a wise woman. These kind of women are the reason why even today a woman's success is measured by her marital status and why women have such less self-confidence to fight back for their dignity.
10. A woman who is willing to give up her self-respect to keep her marriage is not better or worse than a woman who stands up for her self-respect and dignity. It all comes down to personal choices and what she is willing to put up with to get what in return.
Some women are willing to sacrifice more and some women are not willing to settle less than equal rights. That doesn't make any of them inferior or superior to the other or it also doesn't give a license to preach. (Yes, I am looking at you Asha and Elena).
It's one thing to show this regressive thinking for older generation who lacked education, social opportunities and infrastructure to stand on their feet independently and it's another thing to show this as an example to educated, independent women of today.
Now, there are still a few people who wants exactly what I describe as abhorrent to me above. If that's what is being shown, then fine. Just don't tag it as reality because even reality is less regressive than this.
EPISODE: The episode starts with Ishwari thanking God for listening to her prayers. She says that a big burden got lifted from her chest.
Dev thanks his new Goddess Sonakshi.
Sonakshi copies modest Maalti. She says there's no need to say anything.
Dev says: There's need to say this. Whatever you have done for me and my maa... Without you...
Me: Are you thinking that Bhaiya's speech making no sense? Well, then you can imagine how difficult it was for me to write that nonsensical blabber.
Ishwari cuts in and calls Sonakshi. She asks her to come to her.
Sonakshi looks at Bhaiya for help. Bhaiya is no help. He just makes Hanuman pose again. So Sonakshi goes to Ishwari.
Maata asks her to sit by her side.
Sonakshi sits.
Ishwari kisses Sonakshi's hands.
Radha gets burrrrnnnneeeedddd...
Bhaiya gets thrilled as in Mummy likes my friend now.
Me: Haan lekin agar yehin kaam Bhaiya kar rahe hote as in kissing her hands, aap ka to alag hi expression nikalta. Hain naa, Maata?
(If this same thing Bhaiya had been doing as in kissing Sona's hand, you would have got an entirely different reaction, no Maata?)
Ishwari says (teary-eyed): I didn't know that you will free me from this burden. You have made a huge favour on me. I will never forget your favour.
Sona: No, Auntyji.
Ishwari: No, Sona. You have saved me. You have given me life.
Bhaiya is overwhelmed as in I should start preparing new nursery for my passel of kids Sonakshi is going to have for me.
Radha is gritting her teeth.
Ishwari hugs her.
Bhaiya is mentally fixing the name of his future kids.
Radha is mentally counting her bank balance to figure out how long it will last.
Sonakshi smiles. That's exactly she had worked so hard. She finally got approve stamped.
Me: Ookay, enough of this. Ishu aunty, what brand approval do you use that sane women forget all the crappy things you did to obtain that?
Radha, pack your bags. Sonakshi is already one foot in Dixit house.
Bhaiya, congratulations. Once again you get the chick without a single effort. All thanks to the coveted approval of the Goddess mother.
Sona, stop pretending and start owning up to your doormat tendencies. You are your mother's daughter, not your father's pride.
Radha walks as if in shock. Vicky is there. She tells Vicky that their the end is near. Everything is finished. Ishwari and Sona got together.
Vicky got shocked: How is it possible.
Just then Radha sees Maalti.
Maalti apologises to Radha that because of her Ishwari fell sick.
Me: Yaar, iss aurat ka kya scene hain? Poori duniya se maafi maangegi kya?
(Guys, what is this woman's deal? Will she go around asking forgiveness from the whole world?)
Then of course she has to match make. She doesn't know any background, but hey, when that ever stopped anyone to spread free advice?
So Maalti tells Radha that she should not interfere in this (BUT of course she will) Sonakshi is a great girl. If Dev and Sonakshi get back together then...
Radha stops her. She says that she was just saying that she shouldn't interfere. Still she is saying this? As she said, already too much has happened because of her. So to leave them alone.
Modest Maalti and Chirpy (but silent today) Kajal leave from there.
Vicky consoles fuming Radha.
Me: This is why one should not say sorry without a valid reason. Other people will think you are guilty even if you are not. And Maalti aunty, aap apni beti ki matchmake karo naa. Ab to Dev ki jaydaad bhi hain dahej dene ke liye.
(And Maalti aunty, why don't you match make for your daughter? Now you got Dev's property as dowry as well)
Sonakshi says that they should see the doctor. Dev also leave with her. Radha comes to Ishwari's room in anger and Ishwari looks guilty.
But of course, Bhaiya is missing and Sonakshi meets Asha who came with buttering equipment as in flowers and food.
Asha asks if everything is okay.
Sonakshi asks if her dad is okay.
Asha says: As long as he keeps holding on to his ego, he won't be okay. As he is getting older, he is becoming more stubborn. I don't even pay attention to him these days.
Me: Wow Asha. So that's the kind of marriage you are recommending. Such respect for your husband, father of your children.
Bijoy is the one with ego, huh? Correct me if I am wrong, but which advice of yours actually came up with a positive result? However, everyone of Bijoy's prediction came true.
You convinced Sona and Bijoy for Dev after their break up, it ended in divorce.
You convinced Sona to forget about Dev not even bothering to call her on his birthday while she was waiting to celebrate his, it ended in Ishwari's taunts.
Bijoy said that Ishwari will make his daughter's life difficult. That came true.
He said that Dev will never stand by his daughter going against Ishwari. Also came true.
He said that Dev can't make his daughter happy. He was right then as well.
So may be the ego he has is because he is always proven right. But don't think that you don't have an ego. Your ego is that despite you never being right, you force people to do what you want them to do. Bijoy never tried to impose his opinion or feelings on you.
But you claim that you are an amazing woman because your marriage lasted. Is you pretending to be a martyr by ignoring your husband and his feelings is your idea of happy marriage? Pardon me if some women actually want to be in a relationship where people don't have to pretend for the sake of a marital status.
I think right now, I hate you more than any other character on screen. Hope no man ever get a wife like you and no woman gets a mother like you. You are fine as the mother of a son.
Sonakshi says: It must be so difficult for you to come now. But you still left everything and came to see me.
Asha: You were so tensed here. Where else would I have gone?
Me: Why? You'd have stayed in home like you did when you heard your daughter crying her heart out for being stood up by Dev on his birthday. You'd have stayed home when you heard that Dev and Ishwari were forcing her to go through fertility treatment. It's not as if you came running anytime Sona needed you.
You came running now because you want to tie her in a bow for Dev so that you can guarantee her married status before Bijoy can remind her of the past.
So don't pretend that you are a particularly concerned mother.
Asha says: You have shown so much courage. I am so proud of you. In this kind of situation if there were some other person except you and Dev, they could not have supported each other.
Me: How conveniently you are trying to push this match, Asha.
First of all, let me ask you, do you know what's going on? Then how did you know your daughter showed courage?
Secondly, the proof that you don't know anything is your last statement. Dev accomplished nothing here. Everything was done by Sona and Jatin with the help of Saurabh. Yes, that's right. So whatever praise of team work you want to assign, assign it to Sona and Jatin. Dev just whined and Sona just baby sat here. That's not team work or partnership. That's baby sitting job.
Sona says: Dev and I...
Asha tries to interrupt: I know...
Sona says: No, Maa. You don't know. I have promised Baba, I sweared on him that nothing can happen between Dev and I and I have no intention to break that promise.
Asha's face looked as if she was this close to closing a deal and her competitor got the contract.
Me: And this proves my analysis of Asha's agenda. She had been pushing her agenda behind her fake concern. Sona, you should not be bound by your lies to Bijoy. But you should remember why you and Dev didn't work out in the first place.
When you were Ishwari's nutritionist and doing things for her and her family, Ishwari showered love on you too. But the day she saw Dev's increasing dependency on you, she turned against you.
Today the same scene is being repeated. So don't use Bijoy to hide behind thinking that Asha, Dev and whoever then can curse Bijoy and you won't get blamed. Stand up on your own damn feet and take your own damn decision.
And stop listening to others when it comes to your life's decisions.
Ishwari tells Radha that she can talk to her about anything. Radha is ignoring her and cutting fruit.
Ishwari requests her to talk. Radha says that she used to think that Ishwari thinks of them as her own. But actually she doesn't. She can accept that Ishwari needed money but she didn't come to them. But she is upset about Ishwari hiding such a big thing from them and they came to know from outsiders.
Ishwari says that they are her own. She asks for forgiveness.
Radha says that from now on she can take her own decisions. That's fine. She doesn't need Radha.
Ishwari keeps begging for forgiveness and says that she knows that Radha thinks of her as sister. She promises that she will never hide anything from Radha. She will always ask Radha about even little things before doing everything.
Radha forgives her.
Me: So Ishwari, let's start with your bank account password, your locker's pass key and keys to your jewellery box and we will go from there. What say, Radha aunty?
Anyhoo, Asha says: I know you are speaking the truth. But all I am saying is for you to do what is right for you.
Me: Good advice. Remember that and stop butting your nose in.
Sona: Who learned right from wrong from someone like you, how can she make mistakes.
Asha smiles.
Me: Flatter flatter flatter. But you are the one whose life is in clutter. So no matter how much you slather butter, it won't matter because you have your protective father.
Asha hands tiny lunch box to Sona and says that there is food there for Ishwari ji and there is more food than for one person, so they should eat as well.
Sona nods and Asha leaves from there.
Asha comes to Ishwari's room where Radha was sitting.
Ishwari looks scared as eff glancing at Radha.
Radha snarls: Now meet her too. I don't understand who is outsider and who is your own.
She gets up and snarls at Asha pointing the chair she was sitting on.
Asha puts her flower on the side table and sweetly asks: How is your health now?
Ishwari says that she is fine. But looks at Radha scared and starts coughing.
She reaches for water when Asha offers to get it for her. She hands her a glass of water.
Radha leaves from there fuming.
Ishwari watches her going in fear.
Asha as usual oblivious sits down.
Me: I wonder what is this woman made of? No really. In her house, she regulates how people should react, think and behave to her specification and sulks when they don't. Here, clearly Radha and Ishwari making it clear that she is not welcome there, yet she sat down? How obvious could their body language be for her to get it?
But then, she is on the quest to get her daughter back in her home. So she is trying to ingratiate herself in the family as hard as she can.
Anyhoo, Ishwari, for politeness's sake asks how is everyone.
Me: Not that she gives a damn. But since Asha is not moving. So small talk it is.
Asha smiles: Everyone is fine.
Ishwari: When this happened, Sonakshi was in our house. I didn't know much. But later people said that she put medicine in my mouth. That made a difference. She is a doctor. In this cases, she is used to reacting fast in emergency.
Asha smiles: You are looking tired. You should take rest.
Translation: See? I am so concerned for you. Please let my daughter come back.
Ishwari: Why did you bother? Sonakshi was here.
Translation: Why the eff are you here? I really wish you just skedaddle.
Asha: Where is bother about that? I also told Dev to call us if he wants any help.
Translation: See? I also care about your son and always eager beaver to help. Please blackmail my daughter to go back.
Ishwari's expression: Tu yahan se khisakne ka kya legi? Small talk kar liya, tujhe jhel liya. Ab tu nikal.
(What will you take to slither from here? Did the small talk, tolerated you long enough. Now git going)
Asha (finally got the hint): Okay. You take rest. I am going.
Ishwari's expression: Thank God. I thought she will never leave.
Just then the kids come running there with Elena.
Asha doesn't leave. She is still there hugging Elena.
Soha doesn't even look at Asha. She climbs in the bed straight by Ishwari.
Soha starts buttering where Asha left off. She asks Ishwari how she is doing?
Ishwari says she is fine (finally with genuine smile instead of constipated smile).
Soha says that she missed her. She should come home soon.
Golu says that he missed her too.
Soha got Ishwari card she made herself.
Ishwari says that she got happy just by seeing the card.
Golu says: I also helped Suhana to make the card.
Soha says: No Dadi, Golu is lying. He didn't help.
Golu protests.
Ishwari steps in before a fight starts.
Soha says that she doesn't want her to get sick. So she is making this card for the last time.
Just then Radha comes there.
Me: Haan bhai. Aap bhi aa jao. Yeh hospital thodi hain. Yahan to circus laga hain. Sab muh uthake ghoos jao.
(Yes, you also come. This is not a hospital. This is a circus. Everyone can come walking in any time)
Soha says that she will take care of Ishwari. Ishwari says that now she will go to her grandmother's house (Asha), then who will take care of her?
Soha says: That's the problem. I wish we all lived in the same house. Isn't it, Asha?
Ishwari isn't that happy to hear it.
But of course Asha smiles.
Translation: Yes, my darling. I hope your mother and you go back under your Dadi's thumb so that I can tell everyone that my daughter is married instead of just successful entrepreneur.
Golu chirps: That will only happen if ex-Bigchi becomes Bigchi.
Ishwari is super embarrassed and looks at Asha.
Asha and Elena give each other "Eye"-five look. Because they can't high-five and lungi dance in front of everyone, naa.
Radha fumes.
Elena takes the kids home.
Elena and Soha tell Ishwari to come home soon.
Asha also takes her leave finally.
Ishwari looks at Radha and looks down.
Asha sees the glass of water that Asha handed Ishwari and smiles seeing that Ishwari didn't drink the water Asha gave her.
Ishwari gives a small smile.
Me: Maata ne thik kahan tha. Insaan apni izzat khud banata hain, aur khud hi utarta hain. Jaise aaj Asha ki aukat dikh gayee. Ghar mein to sherni bani phirti hain. Lekin bahar apne hi harkat ki wajah se, chuhe ki aukat bhi nehin bachi.
(Maata was right. People make their own respect and ruin it themselves too. Like Asha's standard was clear today. She behaves like a tigress at home. But here, because of her desperate behaviour, her respect wasn't even worth of a rat.)
Soha and Golu see Sona and comes running. Soha says that she missed her and her dad. Sona says that she missed her and Golu too.
Soha asks for her dad. Golu asks her too. Sona says that he went to meet the doctor. She asks them to go home and she will send him home to meet them.
Soha asks if she will come with her father to take care of Dadi like she used to take care of her when she was sick.
Sona says that there are a lot of people there to take care of her dadi. She says Soha can take care of her. And she also should come to see her other grandparents (whom she doesn't give a damn about). They miss her too.
Soha says that she will come. But her mother will come to see Dadi, no?
Sona says that she will try.
Elena finally decides to get a move on. Sona asks if Soha was fine.
Elena says Soha is an angel. She helps her to take care of Golu.
Golu asks if he is a kid who needs taking care of.
Elena says sorry.
Soha and Golu start bickering. Then Golu drags Soha away.
Elena says to Sona didn't she say that Soha helps her caring for Golu?
Sona laughs but says that she used to think that Soha is happy alone.
Elena says that she used to think the same for Golu.
They both agree that they each have learned something from the other.
Elena says that may be that's why her mother used to send Elena to Sona and Dada.
They laugh.
Me: Yes, CVs. We got it. But guess what? I have a solution for Golu and Soha's loneliness. Let's make the kids rotate with parents. What say? As in when Dev goes to Bose house, he can take Golu with him and when Sona comes to Dixit house, she can bring Soha. Problem solved.
Oh wait, that's not the point you were trying to make?
In her room, Ishwari is kissing Soha's card. Radha is back on her seat. Sona comes there with medicine.
Me: So Sona has been now demoted from doctor to nurse. Excellent.
By the way, seeing Ishwari's expression, all the overwhelming love of about an hour or so ago, is gone already. Ishwari instead making the same face which I make when I see someone annoying approaching.
Sona gives Ishwari medicine. Ishwari takes the bottle and sniffs it and says that it smells bitter. She won't have it.
Sona says that it's medicine. She has to take it.
Ishwari refuses to take it.
Sona insists.
Radha says in saccharine sweet voice: Since Sonakshi is insisting so lovingly, have it naa?
Sona says: Soha would have had it by now too.
Ishwari says: But her grandmother can't have it.
Sona says that her kada with neem and whatnot is also bitter. This can't be as bitter as that.
Ishwari says then she can give her kada made by her. She will drink one or two glasses. But she can't take this medicine.
Sona says fine. Then she will put it down. And when doctor comes to scold her, she will watch and also call Dev to watch.
Ishwari asks where is Dev.
Before Sonakshi can answer, she asks Sonakshi and Dev to go home.
Sonakshi says no.
But Ishwari says that they need rest too. They can come back later.
Sonakshi leaves.
Ishwari makes a huff as if finally she left.
Radha says: Sonakshi left threatening her about Dev. She asks Ishwari to take the medicine.
Ishwari, without hesitation, takes the medicine.
Radha says: Wow, you took the medicine so fast. It's good that my doubt got cleared. Otherwise I was thinking so many things.
Ishwari says: What were you thinking?
Me: What every optimist person was thinking, what else? That this doggy tail got straightened overnight. But turns out that us realists know you better, Maata. Isn't it?
Radha says that she thought that when Ishwari hugged her, Sonakshi might use her to come back in their house. She wants to get Dev married, not ruined. (*SNORT*). What she did for Ishwari, even Radha is applauding. But that doesn't mean that they should forget her nature.
Ishwari says that Sonakshi isn't bad. But she is very different from them. They could not understand her and she could not understand them. And because of misunderstanding her relationship could not continue with out house. But I have understood that just because someone is different, that doesn't mean that they are bad.
Radha get scared: So you are saying that what happened 8 year ago was all our fault? It was not her fault? If that was the case, you'd have taken medicine from her. You won't have made excuses by saying the medicine is bitter. I just want good for you.
Me: Radha is bad. But she speaks on point. Bulls eye, Radha. Ishwari pretends to be good and speaks about the right way aloud. But she never follows it. She had said before that her biggest concern was Sonakshi's good nature and it's still her biggest concern. She will never like Sonakshi for that reason. She would like a daughter-in-law who has flaws by whom she can shine brighter.
Ishwari says that she promised that whatever she will do, she will tell her first. But Sonakshi...
Radha says: But what? The truth is that that Bangalan didn't change and nor your son changed anything for her. You are exactly the same and she is too.
Ishwari worries.
Dev hears everything standing outside.
Me: And that brings back the crux of the matter. Radha has once again hit the bulls eye. Her intention is not good. But what she is saying is 100% correct.
If in an equation, no one changes anything, then even if you repeat the equation until infinity, the outcome won't change.
That's why human being has two ways. One, if they love something or someone enough, they change to have them in their life and Two, they never change and let that thing go.
For example, if a smoker really wants to compete in Olympics in swimming, he has to choose what he loves most. The smoking or the gold medal in swimming. He has to let one go to have the other. He can't quit smoking means, he will never win a gold medal in olympic in swimming. His lungs will fail him. And if he wants that gold medal hard enough, he has to leave smoking behind.
Ishwari is worried because she knows that she will never be able to love any woman whom her son loves. That being the case, even if Sonakshi bends over backward for her, even then, she will never be able to accept her.
She knows it. But she keeps pretending to be a better person when she is not.
I am glad Bhaiya heard it though. But then again, the question remains what will he do about it? If I have to guess, nothing. Because he never loved Sonakshi enough to take any step for her against all odds which is exactly what I had been saying since season one.
PRECAP: Ishwari calls Sonakshi in Bose house. She invites her to come for dinner with her whole family.
Sonakshi looks at Bijoy.
Ishwari asks if she will come.
Me: Halal karne se pehle bakde ko hamesha khilaya pilaya jaata hain, aisa maine suna tha. Aaj dekh bhi liya.
(Before killing a lamb, it's fed well. That's what I had heard. Today I saw it)...
No Rules!!! YAY!!!

No Rules!!! YAY!!!
Hello everyone,
Next weekend is long weekend for us (Victoria Day for Ontario). So my husband and I will be in Stratford Saturday to Monday watching plays as is our yearly tradition - one by Shakespeare (Twelfth Night) and one a musical (Guys & Dolls).
So I won't be writing this post next Monday, May 22nd.
But not to worry. I am leaving our very capable Ashi to open the thread and write it for you.
You know how incredibly funny and witty she is. I will drop in to respond/comment if we have time.
Love

Today ishwaris beloved stubborn reema lagoo expired. They used to be a rage in 90s as mil dil combo in tu tu mai mai. It brought back my childhood memories. Now ishwari is mil. Time flows like river to never come back. What remains is only memories. There is no point holding on to grudges in life. As they say in zen Buddhism. This too shall pass.
ReplyDeleteYou are a visitor on planet earth on a tourist visa with defined entry and exit days. Even otherwise the visithe period is short. So no point fighting and holding on to grudges against anybody.
Yes, I remember the iconic Tu Tu Main Main with Supriyaji and Reemaji. That was one of my favourite shows.
ReplyDeleteI agree. There's no point holding grudges. But as I mentioned in my previous post, only stupid people forget life lessons.
Awesome show it was. Now that I think back television shows used to have such high standards.
Deletedon't even remind me of those days logic ,script , sensitivity ,reality, novaltic were creativity was top notch no trp nonsense or money craving ph who made awesome shows like tu tu me me .gone those days creativity was ruling and trp had no existence ...nowadays we see cloning of shows with different names but ladies have to be doormat thanks to lady director ekta, rashmi, gul etc who been a women shows crap and say nayi soch and wish women 's day to women showing fancy doormats in there shows
DeleteOk so after all that mahaan acts and detective work by sona to get into halwa gang ishwari reached the conclusion that sona is different from the dixit but she is not bad for being different. Someone correct me if I am wrong.
ReplyDeleteOf course she is different she is bejoy bose's daughter. She is a morally upright and hardworking woman. With zero self respect but still not a two bangle chor and psycho like you ishu.
Did you also notice Ishwari's body language? She was saying something but her body language was something else. She was behaving exactly like we behave with someone we have to tolerate, but we don't want to.
DeleteHopefully cvs won't make bejoy too say sorry to ishwari and her little son dev. If they do that then I am definitely going to make a twitter account and throw some carefully chosen abuses at the makers.
ReplyDeleteI agree. Bijoy is turning out to be right once again. Ishwari's body language was screaming one thing and she was saying something else. Radha also pointed it out today.
DeleteToday's lesson:
ReplyDeleteKutya... oops!! kutey ke dum tere ki teri rehti ha... And when those kutas are fat copiuos Ishu, weak slender Sonakshi and Brawny ballsless Dev jo k DD ki writing ka nishaana bn gaye ho tu how the F will their get their tails straightened?

DeleteSorry for making multiple posts but I feel a bit bewildered with the episode today. I don't understand what the characters are anymore. But the precap of ishwari inviting bose family over somehow reminds me of a wolf inviting the little red riding hood! You know how the turkey is fattened up before a feast 🦃
ReplyDeleteTo end up on our table as 🥘🍲🍗🍥
OMG... I thought the same thing. See my pic. I imagined Sylvester the cat eyeing tweety while she takes bath in a soon to boil pot on the gas. Lol...
DeleteTia, wah!! wah!!
ReplyDelete@SummerRain...thanks for the inspiration
Today's epi...Ish maate got moksha in hospital. Hospital admission does wonders to narcissists I guess...saari dimaag ki batti jal jaati hai
So, now I know the permanent cure for Ish...admit her permanently in hospital.
Sonakshi was ok. Chalega.
Asha , as usual, highly irritating. I hate the way she talks abt Bijoy. I hate her, hate her. Is that how someone talks about an ageng husband?..that to for Bijoy? I tell you the way she replied to Sona abt how she came for her, I felt like giving her one tight slap...somehow,husband-wife relationship is most underrated in the show. For you to have a good marital life, you need parents approval and kids. Either kids are your priority or your parents...you yourself or ur better half are never your priority.
So, to help Sona, who herself is a mother to a 6 yr old, nutritionist, Asha came running to hospital, without bothering about Bijoy.
Words fail me to describe such idiots. And its only bcoz we have such ppl who are assumed to be sensible, we are still churning ideas of women empowerment thru movies which never become reality.
Her reply about bijoy though- I don't listen to him. Sums up her zero regard for rhis guy. Truly #wifegoals asha madam is👏👏👏👏
DeleteAgree agree agree. I felt like giving Asha a tight slap today. She is becoming increasingly insulting to Bijoy. She deserved someone like Dev who'd have created a scene in front of his mother and a mother-in-law like Ishwari who would then give her hell.
DeleteThe only good things about the episode was that Sonakshi has no intentions to break Bijoy's promise meaning she is also not ready for the relationship.
ReplyDeleteSecondly, Ishu treated Asha like a nurse. Well deserved.
Finally, Bhaiya's Naaaaaaiiiiinnnnn moment!! (horrible acting there I have to say that)
@BH, which scene are you talking about...Bhaiya's where acting was horrible?
DeleteBhaiya was almost not present in the epi...thnx to Indo trip.
The last 20 secs of the episode
Deleteok. I think I missed it.
DeleteHighly recommended. It was funny AF
DeleteAgreed. But I didn't like how Sonakshi used her promise to Bijoy to prove her point. She should have said it was her decision. Bijoy didn't ask her to stay away from Dev. He asked her the truth. If that's the truth which she said, then she should not use the swear to justify it. And it that's a lie, then she should not use Bijoy's influence to turn that into truth. Either way, she should learn to take accountability of her own decision.
DeleteSee, no balls Dev se kuch tu seekhana ha... So she is hiding her feelings behind Bijoy's promise. Taakey jb dil ki ghantiya tun tun hojaye tu she can blame Bijoy for being a rastay ka kaanta... This is what she has learnt from her new found mommy boo iShU...
DeleteLol !! Great title ! Coincidentally , the name of the movie this song is from, is DevD...I just realized that now. Waise , your version is much more apt !
ReplyDeleteWill come back later after the update .
I know, right? How appropriate. Thanks for the suggestion. :D
DeleteOne of your point is very valid. That a man who dances to mothers tunes wants to marry an independent woman. Perfect recipe for disaster bcoz they simply cant co-exist in reality.
ReplyDeleteI still dont understand Dev's mama bhajan till date. Sonakshi atleast knows that Bijoy will agree for her happiness. Dev was pretty sure Sonakshi will not be his mom's choice. Then, what did he expect? For Sonakshi to tolerate crap.
Momma's boys shud marry girls of mamma's choice only. Even then, people face issues.
Weird.
I still find it difficult that a businessman of Dev Dixit stature is a puppet in mom and xwifey hands.
If I say I know such a guy in real life who was a momma's boy and was a puppet in his mother hands. And when he tried to support his wife, his momma created huge problems for them, will you believe me??
DeleteAnd this guy is a well renowned doctor who has his own hospital and clinic.
DeleteThanks Gauri. In my opinion, Mamma's boy should not marry until their mother is alive. Because at the end of the day, no woman wants to live their life with someone who can never make any decision on their own. Sorry, but it's like marrying a robot whose remote control is in someone else's hand. People keep giving examples of Shravan Kumar. But people forget that Shravan Kumar never married. That's why he could give his 100% devotion to his parents.
Delete@BH, I will believe you. This Mamma's boy phenomenon isn't just epidemic in uneducated masses, it's more rampant in educated middle class strata. Poor, uneducated people who do hard labour morning to night don't have time for kitchen politics. Their mother also works backbreaking labour as well as wives. Ultra rich people have too much distractions going on from partying to vacationing etc. So they also don't have time to waste playing who owns the man more. But middle class educated class, where the mother is home all day with no hobby but taking care of the family and no job or friends to keep them busy, that's where this kitchen politics get played. That's why everyone needs hobbies and interests. Empty brain is Devil's workshop. When people are busy with their interests, they don't have time to play games.
DeleteI believe you BH. I see so many of them around. Some stood up and took the decision to chose wife and some gave up ,ending in divorce.
DeleteThats why I said. Even if you marry of your mother's choice, then too a mama's boy faces issue bcoz nothing actually satisfies the insecurities of a mother who controls her son.
There is nothing wrong in being a Mamma's boy. The problem lies when the relationship refuses to grow and let go with time. When the boy refuses to grow up to be a man.
gauri i agree to ur point how he became a businessman were he needs to know ppls management very well god knows what type of script is this ...once he can be fooled but he is fooled all the time by ish he even don't realize the attitude he shows is other story and hating feminist word if so he would marry a gavar jo pati ki dool hoti
DeleteTia, I disagree. This emotional and narcissistic abuse is there because of the wrong customs and traditions which have been flourishing in the society. I blame socialization for momma's boy thinking.
DeleteYou see many rich people as well many poor people also run to their mommies without using their brains. Why? Because the mothers who face emotional abuse due to their husbands or MILS tend to spend all their time nourishing their child in order to reduce it. But in their subconscious, they want to get this psychological abuse out of their systems which is why they start treating their children like puppets who only listen to them and force them to help them get out of their abuse. But in the process, the kids get emotionally abused and the process repeats.
How can it be stop? Simple. Unnecessary women and men socialization needs to be extirpated. Hence, equal rights of both the genders should be promoted while accepting the difference between the genders.
And do you wanna know who that person is???
DeleteHummm... You got a point BH.
DeleteAm I rhe only one getting irritated at this extreme demonizing of bijoy to show how all r at fault? As if CVs r hell bent to show both famikies were equal responsible for break up not that D were more. When bijoy took the kasam it wsnt like this- swear on me that u r telling truth that u have no feeling. Why omit the trurh? Sona today pretended as if bijoy made her swear never to go back to dev. No he didn't! Also asha madam didn't look too pleased.
ReplyDeleteWho said yesterday here that it may go two way, either Mataji faking her blessing for devakshi hoping for new bride or she genuinely want her? Kavi is it? Kudos, u were right. R we really supposed to feel for rhis lady? She still didn't touch the water asha touched neither had medicine from Sonas hand. How we can believe she's genuine for devakshi reunion when she don't even like to have food from her?! It's like CVs trolling the viewers by showing dual shits like this.
The poem at the start though 🙏🙏😹😹😹
Me Me Me!!! Extremely irritating to see Bijoy this way....its not his actions but what others say about him is resulting in demonizing him.
DeleteIn S1, she did it for her son's happiness. In S2, she will do it still for her son and grand daughter's happiness. Thats it. She is thinking but she wont be ever able to accept the Boses or Sonakshi. I doubt that as the scenes you mention clearly show us she has not accepted Sona yet even though she hugged her.
i feel sorry for bijoy wish he died that day instead of getting stones these days
DeleteI completely agree. I am on the same league as you. It seems CVs are hell bent on proving that fathers who love their daughter, fight for their respect and dignity and despite giving them opportunity to take their own decisions, try to step up to protect them from their idiocy must be stoned by their wives, mothers, children and society. Great going, CVs. As it is women are told to die in their in-laws and only come out in coffin. Now you are stoning a few decent fathers shown on screen. No wonder women suffer in our country so much.
DeleteOh comeon, wasn't it understood that BIJOY IS THE VILLAIN OF THE SHOW
DeleteI mean, Bijoy threw poor Dev out on the streets who came to say sorry with big heart for the mistake he did not want to commit. He had just placed his hand near the face but the air breeze made his hand hit Bijoy's face.
Regarding Ishwari (producers' eye candy)...She did not want to steal the bangles but was forced to do so. She only went to clean the dust of em bangles but the air breeze made the bangles land in her pocket. When she returned home, she saw the bangles but when she came back the air breeze had blown the family out of the town. :'(
And this air breeze was controlled by none other than Bijoy. See, this proves he is FUCKING VILLAIN of the show....
Now prince charming will get the fake princess out of her problems by fighting this godzilla looking dragon and also avenge his goddess mata....
(CV's could've used this logic to absolve the two shit holes of the show)
Felt really good reading all that abt Asha. What is she made of!!! Tia, could you please slice that character into teey weeny pieces and serve me again some other day. I love it.
ReplyDeleteOh darling trust me. Just let Asha take one misstep. I will crucify her just like Ishwari. Dono Maata ko nani naa yaad dilayi to kehna.
Deletebefore i start my analysis on the episode reading wu i have to mention ur best lines in todays which i loved
ReplyDelete8. A girl's father who stands up for the mistreatment of his daughter and always fighting for her respect and honour is not a villain. Every woman should have a father like that instead of the ones who tells their daughter to go back to her abusive in-laws because he loves his image and reputation in society more than his own flesh and blood.
here starts my rant what nonsense ya tia here we have mad lady like ishwari who never gets to say sorry to others who is blessed by god always the most hurted person come saying to her instead of her we have sona who was treated badly yet did charity and we have memsaab were ish stole see the irony these 2 ladies whom ish hunted them the most are apologetic and helpful for ishwari instead .
i must say dixits are dam lucky dev /ish deeds are so bad but end result what they get is trophy which ppl tag them for being good human being ...even a thief is good human being but its either a weakness /majboori which forces him to steal things do we award them putting a thrown or will we throw them in jail ...tia tell me which book says thieves are good human being and ppl say sorry to them instead lol writers of this show trendsetting like raavan/duryodan are good and others needs to say sorry...what nonsense ...this is what they want to tell the society how to steal and get away with it easily instead of redemption get sorry from were they stole wah bhai e tho worst script ....
today reading wu i had headaches how ur tolerating tia ...
asha is one more specimen i tell u she literally wants one more siblings for soha and dev as son asp no shame to say hello to the women who avoided her in the market (not surprised because my mom used to be like asha who was so down in front of my sassu ma who is replica of ishwari there taunts also she used to take it with a smile but my dad used to be bit upset seeing and sensing what they meant but they were tongue tied looking to my future but my hubby stops his mom cuts her off in the such a way she has no say so i feel asha is real )bijoy i still love him dear u wrote so beautiful about his prediction well what can he do with dumb family of his but sona values his words thats good relief but how long we need to see ..i don't think ish changed a mask is worn to throw sona yet again this time sweet poison is on process ...
precap---calling the family to dine and bomb blasting which hits the boundery of bose family for sure ..
dev match might be fix with the new girl since cvs are expert in show fb later ...so let it start ....
p.s---why asha trying to pump sona to go to dixits if she did before itself all this drama would have been spared and secondly why did asha say to sona to fight for her self respect when dixits i mean vicky threw them and made them homeless ....can anyone crack open her brain and solve the puzzle which she is giving each day ...
one more thing do ppl get out of guilt that easily what a jet speed guilt relief ....for me if i say anything harsh to my hubby i atlas take a week to get out of that guilt ....is that so easy for ishwari being a thief she used to preach bose family and now after getting foot massage she is guilt free ....wah bhai kitna hai seekne ko ish se ...saying sorry doesn’t mean there isn’t guilt and forgiving doesn’t mean the pain is gone...................................................................................................................ok tia enjoy ur date with hubby i mean vacation buggies tho le lo ....................................................shailajaya ...see u on tuesday
Regarding asha's case- she is another selfish woman in the show..
DeleteShe wanted sona to fight for her self respect when boses were thrown out and she was ok sona breaking her relationship with dev only becuase she knows boses need sonakshi to provide for them at that time.
Now that they are well settled, she thinks her daughter is bhoj and wants to push her back into the hell even though none of the circumstances or characters have changed from s1
I hate her i tell u . Worst wife and worst mother
Shailu,
DeleteAsha is miss-goody-two-shoes.
If she has so much free time, go serve the needy in old age homes, why wasting time over Ishwari Dixit? She needs none. Dev Dixit's mother is short of food or physical help...what bakwas this Asha lady is doing.
She keeps forgetting who is Ishwari.
wahi tho gauri
DeleteThanks Shailu. @Shailu, Lavanya, I completely agree with you both. Honestly that's exactly the conclusion I reached. Asha was pushing Sona into compromising until she came to the street. Then suddenly she started preaching self-respect. Where was her self-respect when Ishwari and Radha were calling her husband and son thieves and she was saying that they will talk later as if Radha was insisting an extra pakora and she is taking rain check.
DeleteShe was shamelessly pushing Jatin on Sona and then the moment Dev came back, made him into her fairy tale prince charming and started pushing him on her.
If Dev was prince charming, then why was she out to ruin Jatin's life?
And the way she treats Bijoy is just appalling. People don't treat their servent the way she treats Bijoy. Her attitude reeks disrespect and arrogance. I don't know why and how Bijoy tolerate that if he truly has anger management problem.
@Gauri, People like Asha don't waste their time with people without their selfish need. If she was that concerned for Ishwari, why did not she call in the last 8 years asking for her health? Soha was still there. So Ishwari was still her Dadi. Yet, she did not even bother finding out whether Ishwari was alive or dead. And suddenly concern is sprouting like weed? Suddenly she is family? Hell, forget Ishwari. She did not even know that Elena had a son. That's how much concern she had. Now suddenly she is all show off her familial ties for Dev's benefit. Bijoy is far better than her. He found out how Ishwari is doing without blowing his own horn. I have no doubt that if Ishwari had needed help and he could help, he would do so equally quietly. He is not big talk and no action kind of people like Asha.
DeleteI give up. What have they made the show into. None of the leads and most of the supporting characters are unrecognizable. Except offcourse Radha and Vicky, thank goodness for that. Actually I like them more, atleast Radha. She is the only who speaks truth. Dev had spine in the initial days, no one dared open his mouth in front of him, now he has turned into a woman, listening to others talks. worst because he never gets to the crux of the talk and hears only what he wants to hear. Idiot.
DeleteAsha madam what to say, does she even know what a husband-wide relationship is, did she ever respect Bijoy in her life (forget love) because here it looks she is taking revenge from Bijoy for not being able to marry her BF. I would never believe Bijoy was worse or bad to her even in his younger days.
Atleast Ishwari never forced Neha to mend with Ranveer when she came back. Neha had her reasons. She made her choice. But Dev is her private property and so she will keep him to herself all her life.
Hated it when Sona put the blame on Bijoy as If she may have gone back to Dev but only because of Bijoy she is not. Apne baap ka naam badnam karna isiko kehtey hain. Nobody is ready to take her back, but this lady is dying to go back and her mum is ready to push her in that hell hole. An advice to Asha, why not Asha goes and lives with Soha now that Sona is back to bose house and Soha is all alone in Dixit house. She can shower her love on her favourite Dev beta and makkhan maro Ishwari Dixit. After all they too want a doormat to galiyaan sunaao every morning, noon and night and who's better than someone from Bose house to do that honour.
lol tia ....in the forum some one posted that nothing wrong in this track i sarcastically commented yesterday saying bijou is waste and ish great and she got sorry ...etc...today i saw the thread were mods chopped my post from the thread lol just like they did for u ....
ReplyDeleteLol. Let it go. Why do you bother. Let people think what they want. If they are happy, what's it to us? Good for them. We are not happy and we will speak about it. That's why I don't post anything in the forum anymore either. Why give people power over my free speech?
DeleteHi Tia, great post.. another crappy and filler episode.
ReplyDelete1. Is it just me or anyone else who thinks ishwari only praised Sonakshi bcoz of dev. Everybody knows she has attention deficit disorder. Whenever she feels the main attention isn't on her, she knows how to manipulate people and the situation to focus it on her. So today when she saw dev holding hands in front of Sonakshi and praising her, she yet again tried to change the focus towards her. Also I don't think she expected dev to praise Sonakshi so much in front of her so much. I don't think she has changed at all.
2. Of late I don't see any difference between asha and ishwari, both manipulate their kids. Only difference is that they both are doing it for exactly the opposite reasons. Regarding asha's speech today, I'm going to blame bijoy today. It's his fault that he is a good husband, his mother's fault that she isn't like ishwari, he dint slap asha's father and dint throw asha out in the streets pregnant. Maybe then asha would have understood bijoy.
I firmly believe that children first learn how to respect through their parents, it's how their parents treat each other gives them a life lesson. Even today Sonakshi and saurav respect asha so much only bcoz of how bijoy respected his wife. Just feeling sorry for bijoy, he doesn't deserve this lady.
Both of your points are bang on. I completely agree.
Delete1. I also thought that was the case. But I became sure when her attitude changed 180 degree the moment Dev left. Her lovey dovey teary eyed look was replaced by subtle games accompanied by clear body language screaming back off and get out to both Asha and Sona. But they both ignored it. Her irritation was very clear which even Radha pointed out that what she is saying and how she is behaving don't match.
2. This line, is gold.
Precisely. Children learn respect from parents. That's why children of conservative household where men belittle women, male children become chauvinist jerks themselves and female children learn that they have no value beyond what men give them. That's how cycle of abuse continues. The way Saurabh spoke to Bijoy that day, had he talked to Asha that way, Bijoy would have ripped him a new you-know-what. But Asha just stood and listened because Saurabh was speaking her language. Shame on her. This is the woman who peach marriage and respect for spouse. She used her own children like a weapon against her husband.
Sorry for the such an impersonal comment on your post, I was just eager to let my frustration out. You have a very good sense of humor, lots of times I've laughed hard reading your "me" comments. I love reading, but writing is not my forte, but I understand you need a talent for that and you have it a lot. Thanks again for lessening the irritation that we viewers suffer from the episodes.
DeleteOh no worries, hun. Thanks very much for the compliment. I am happy to hear your thoughts as well. You made very good points.
DeleteSoumya here.
DeleteWOW Thanks Tia. I really really appreciate your effort to sit thru the episodes to give us such a wonderful analysis.
Ish is so self centered...everything is about herself...even when she was thanking Sona...it was about herself...As the above reply suggests...I am seeing so much of Ish in Asha these days...both pretend to be god sent goody two shoes before their kids and Ish becomes the maniac the moment Dev turns his back on her and Asha is still the ms goody two shoes who thinks she is doing the best possible things for everyone...
Bijoy you certainly dont deserve any of these sh$t heads in your life...take Dida and Soha(before she goes more downhill from where she is now) and run...run as fast as you can and dont look back.....
I dont know why Asha has all of a sudden so much concern about Ish after 8 long years...when the last they saw her, her husband was accused of stealing from them and almost had a near death experience....
Loved your title and the poem :) :) :D
Thanks Soumya. Yes, that was always Ishwari's problem. She needs to make everything about her. From Dev's love life to Sonakshi's infertility, everything is always about her. And the moment it's not about her, she sulks, pouts, blackmails. That's what always bothered me about her. And the worse thing is that neither Dev and Sona can see it.
DeleteI agree about Bijoy as well. He deserves a better and more loyal family, period.
Hey Tia come on, wasn't it understood that BIJOY IS THE VILLAIN OF THE SHOW
ReplyDeleteI mean, Bijoy threw poor Dev out on the streets who came to say sorry with big heart for the mistake he did not want to commit. He had just placed his hand near the face but the air breeze made his hand hit Bijoy's face.
Then Bijoy took away his daughter away to Kolkata atrociously.
(CV's could've used this logic to absolve the two shit holes of the show)
When ishwari the goddess is there, how can any villain survive. She will destroy the evil from the face of this earth and save the universe... jagat maata ki jai...
DeleteJai Maata Dee... Is jaye jaye me humari dimagh ki maa behn hogyi ha
DeleteThat's what it seems, doesn't it? I love Bijoy though. He is one of the decent (maybe the only decent) father shown on television screen. This is how a father should be. He is also a very respectful and loving husband. He never disrespects or insults his wife even when she constantly insults him.
DeleteActually, he did insult his wife once in front of the neighborhood(tumhe yaad ha k tum meri biwi hi ho), but that was in impulse , so I'll ignore that. However, he is honest, blunt, non duplicitous, egoistic, ethical, a protective, loving father, obedient son and a better husband than any shown in the show.
DeleteI'm amazed with the forum actually. Even after all the things that have happened, these people are still justifying and worshipping dev dixit. Even with the disheveled appearance, they are all so impressed with this guy. Seriously??
ReplyDeleteSome people have problem with glorification of ishwari, but this guy remains a victim still. Sad to know that some women of this generation are so misdirected, that they don't have any sense of identitying right and wrong. The fact is this guy had equal responsibility in ruining his married life as his mother, actually more if you asked me. Still he remains doodh ka dhula???
Let it go, hun. There will always be people who will blindly love him. That's fine. I personally can't see any redeeming quality in him. May be because I prefer people (men or women) with a personality. Lallurams are not my type of people.
Deletetia i feel inviting bose family seems a plan by ishwari .ish by now knows dev has no intensions of going back to sona but even knows dev is emotional and can easily draw towards bose family because asha said that she told dev if she needs anything from them they would help and u know ishwari doesn't share her son with bose family and sona tho tu janti hai tia ...this dinner plan is to coat her fakeness she knows bijoy won't agree to remarriage and dev has some feelings for sona one push from sona dev will go behind her so ish will bring the topic to bose notice that remarriage will be good and soha will have a family etc...when bijoy objects so everyone might put fingers on bijoy including dev and thats when ishwari might play ok then marry of our choice to dev may be he might agree so new girl entry ....ishwari won't take blame and clean chit on her but black dot on bijoy so bose family will be eating bijoy brain ....wedding drama and soha might know it and she will be heartbroken and might hate dev thats when he might fight back and cancel the marriage ...were it started it will be halted there slowly dev might see ishwari real fake face some how soha will make him realize ...verge of losing soha will hit his head thats when dev will be like enough is enough to his mom ...asp the makers will make ish good reuniting devakshi happy reunion and bijoy will say "jele apnea zindagi dubara mat ana i won't welcome u i will throw u like some father had enough rant with saurabh and asha i will join to in there party and praise ye ishwari ye ishwari "
ReplyDeleteYou know what? You are most probably right. If I had any doubt, today Ishwari's behaviour behind Dev's back cemented that belief. Yeh doggy tail kabhi sidhi nehin honewali.
DeleteI hated Asha today. She was very unreasonable towards Bujoy, the best man, dad and human being on the show. This women has complaints against a man like Bujoy then you can imagine her having a husband like Dev and living with a person like Dev. She has no idea what her daughter has gone through and keeps giving lecture to her daughter. I am not going to talk about rest of the things in today's episode as it's a filler because shareer was not around, so I will excuse Cvs for that. Eagerly waiting for monday and looks like Ishwari has a twist for us and also Dev and Sona. So bring it on CVs - why worry when we have Tia's "Me:" to keep us engaged and happy. Happy weekend to all ladies and gentlemen out there.
ReplyDeleteThank you, hun. I completely agree. She dares to mistreat her husband because she is not married to Dev Dixit and has a mother-in-law like Ishwari. She would have been thrown on the street by now with that attitude.
DeleteI feel also ASHA has become the hypocrite.... all her nonsense is too distasteful.
DeleteAsha has a gem of a mother in law and a husband who fights for his wife's self respect(Aunty episode). How can she even understand what Sona had to go thru everyday in Dixit house! She complains about Bijoy's anger but has she seen Dev's anger?? At least Bijoy does not get into physical violence unlike Dev. Asha cannot even last for a day with mom inlaw like Ishwari and a husband like mamma's boy Dev. It is easy to give gyan from a distance but altogether a different thing to go through that kind of experience.
DeleteAsha can find emteen reasons for justifying dev and Ishwari's actions, apparently can understand their feelings but can't understand her husband's concern. Wow what a hypocrisy Asha maa.
ReplyDeleteI know, right? She is one of those people who runs after people who don't give a damn about her and mistreats people who loves her. Now I know where Sonakshi gets it from.
DeleteI felt there is no need for Ishwari to try hard to make Soha Bose to Soha Dixit. Soha already has dixit traits and is already on her way to becoming a true Dixit.
ReplyDeleteYep. Did you see how she did not even look at Asha and straight went to Ishwari? And for the first 7 years of life she only knew Asha. But now she is like who is Asha and who is Sona? She is only Dadi and Papa.
DeleteWahi tho soha is dixits group not once she saw Asha like Magnet ish drew her
DeleteObviously when one of your grand mom is sick won't you directly go to then first. Moreover children do what they want without thinking about being right and consequences.
ReplyDeleteYes you would under normal circumstances where the child has known her grandparents since birth. Here Soha has hardly spent a few days like literally less than a week and she is behaving as If Ishwari is her most favourite person. Kids take a while to recognize and be comfortable with any new adult in the family. What they are showing is not real at all.
Deletethought that was a bit OTT about SOha going all gush gush over dadi also
DeleteIn normal circumstances, that would be the case. But Soha grew up with Asha since birth. She just met Ishwari and spent time with her even less. But she is showing no interest to see her grandparents she grew up with. Her mother has to keep reminding her that they are missing her and then she gives a lip service that of course she does. But she is showing no inclination to even call them to talk to them. That's not normal.
DeleteAlso, Asha called Soha Sona's tail. So much so that she used to go everywhere with Sona and call Sona when she was late from coming home. But since she met Dev, the only reason she called Sona is to ask her to fetch her Dad. Not once she asked about Sona. Also, not at all normal. That's what we had been saying.
No one turns 180 degree overnight.
Real life is 24 hrs. Show is for 24 minutes.Real life is 7 days show is for 5 days. So is it not possible that they have to show it in compressed timelines.☺
ReplyDeleteOh I don't expect them to cover every current affairs, everything that is going on around the world. But when they claim that this is reality, then that's why I had to point out that this is not the reality I know.
DeleteHuman nature is as such that in order to praise someone and justify, the only easier route is by criticizing others or by demeaning others.
ReplyDeleteWhen S2 started, CVs made an extra effort to show Bose family as a family goal for everyone. They made us praise the way they portrayed a balanced family in spite of everyone's difference in opinion. Now when they want to praise ishwari, the only way they could is by showing a weak doormat Sonakshi and a hypocrite asha and saurav. They have degraded their characters to the point of making us hate them and they are successful, we are hating all these people.
Just hope they don't make bijoy the same...
That's exactly my point. There are two ways to make a straight line look bigger beside another straight line. You can either wipe off one reducing it's length or you can draw it larger increasing it's length.
DeleteThe same way, there are two ways to glorify someone. You can either demonize everyone around them and thus make them glorified by default without any improvement or you can make that person improve themselves and thus become glorified through their own efforts.
I prefer to raise the standards as opposed to dragging others down approach myself. That's why this demeaning other previously decent characters are abhorrent to me.
The epi seems like a joke that is not even funny. You know what the makers are ? They are bloody cowards ! I remember watcing a promo of this show long back when I wasn't event a Kuch Rang watcher. In the promo Ishwari's inner voice is asking her "when you came into this house , the mother of this house accepted you and shared her son with you (even that sounds wrong ). Will you be able to do the same ?" . And I remember thinking then ki Jo bhi ladki aanewalie hai uski toh solid bajne waali hai. You see this was the crux of the matter. Ishwari 's inability to accept any girl in her son's life. Its not because Sona is "DIFFERENT". Sometimes I feel Ishwari just needs a female body for her son that will perform all the functions of a female body correctly. Anybody who does more than that will be categorized as "DIFFERENT". But I realize that these cowards only wanted to grab some eye balls by raising such a topic. They would never deal with it the way it should be dealt with .
ReplyDeleteThe general expectation from the Khatri track was that Dev would finally realize that his mother is not a goddess. But now it looks like Ishwari gained more bhakts. I don't think I need to name the new bhakts. Its amazing, what started out to be a track that could have changed the dynamics of the mother- son relationship was once again turned into a 'hail Ishwari ' track with just a few tweaks .
1. The very opportune heart attack that made everybody forget about her crime and pray for her . oops it wasn't even a heart attack !
2. What was supposed to be a crime that destroyed a family was made to look like a petty theft of no real consequence with even the wronged party falling at ishwari's feet.
3. Butchered Asha to an extent that I thought was not possible and in the process turned Bijoy into a villain . The credit for that goes to the daughter too.
So now all the Bhakts together can build a temple for her and fall at her feet. Bijoy should just take off to some place nice and never come back. Meanwhile , Bhaiyya seems to be overhearing a lot of private conversation these days . Will his brain process all this information and come up with a sensible conclusion for once?
Well, the concept of a possessive mother-in-law making daughter-in-law's life hell is not a different concept. Pick any show and that's the basic idea everywhere. It was actually our fault to believe that this would be different simply because here the biggest villain doesn't wear loud make up like Ramola Sikand. But you know what? Because she hides beside innocence, she is more deadly. She strikes from the back and her idiot son she daughter-in-law literally don't get her tricks. If I were Bijoy, I will run somewhere far, far away.
DeleteOf course ! That was the USP of the show. That Ishwari is not your run-of-the-mill , evil , plotting MIL. And while we spent an awful amount of time decoding her character and hoping for Dev's big realization , the makers are now on a path to glorify her and everything that she represents.
DeleteIt's so nice to see like minded people. I love you guys. You guys are straight forward and believe me you guys will have less problems in your life. May be people will not like initially, but once they know you, you will be respected highly. I am glad there are people who thinks lemon is lemon and not Apple.
ReplyDeleteIn IF, being educated they are so regressive. Some claims they went through hardship and they are proud of sailing it. I found it so regressive. On the top of it they want others too follow it. All I can say is any girl marrying to their family...god bless them..
I am not watching episodes these days. I am just going through tia's update. I think I should stick to her thread only.
I think that everybody is entitiled to their point of view , no matter how contrasting it is to mine or how regressive or stupid it may appear to me . The diversity of opinions and interpretations is what makes a place like IF an interesting experience. But it is no longer that way and only two kinds of people are ALLOWED to exist there. The ones who are able to see depth and meaning and posititvity in everything that is shown on screen and the ones who are able to fangirl blindly. And when you are forced to conform to either of these just so that you can be part of that forum and invoking non- existant rules when you do not care to conform is called INTOLERANCE ! And that is not acceptable to me !!
DeleteThank you, Pramila. I actually had no problem with people who had struggled and persevered. Good for them. Their choice. But what I had problem with is when they try to preach their way is the right way. That's the same problem I had with Asha. If she had a happy marriage, great. Yet needs are different, circumstances are different, choices are different. But the problem I had with her is that she tried to push her needs, her circumstances, her choices on Sonakshi who had different threshold for tolerance, different needs, different circumstances and different choices to make about her own life.
DeleteI personally think that the right way or the wrong way is determined by individual choices. Nothing more or less than equality is acceptable for me. But for some people having less than their fair share is fine or some people push for more than their fair share. It all depends on their choices and what their life partner are willing to do.
My point was that those ladies don't accept something wrong happened. I am happy they survived marriage. But don't preach other's to adopt submissive by loosing their self respect. Those ladies don't consider themself as individuals and they don't care of identity. But they are preaching or brainwashing that it is ok to take insult. With this kind of mentality can any one expect changes in male dominated world. Their mentality is regressive.
DeleteYup I agree. Some people are extremely biased towards men in general. And they live in first world countries.... I can't believe how they hold on to regressive mentality. Worst is how one of them said Bose family stole 50 lacs from Dixits... I couldn't even ignore her like I mostly do...IF has become truly regressive. There is weird kind of obsession with symbolism everywhere.
DeleteI would have loved them giving right direction to handle such situation as they have already went through worst in their life . They are like I have gone through it others also should go through it.
Delete@JShukla
DeleteThey are biased because of the actor playing Dev... I also wanted to reply back to that woman that you do not have to glorify everything.
My answer to her would 've been
Boses were left with 2 crores which were invested by Dev and they managed to collect 2.5 crores from their own property and leasing their house, so even when they repaid the 4 crore loan, they were left with 50 lacs they got from their own property...
@JShukla: OMG! Is it the deficit of 50 lac which they are talking about?? I think Sona paid 4.5cr out of 5 cr. See that is why it was so important to return the money.
DeleteSo the money which Ishwari is siphoning off from Dev regularly without Dev's knowledge towards the payment of 1) blackmail amount to Khatri and 2) Dowry Donation. Under what category they will attribute this? The amount will not be less. Both the payments will be in lacs or crores and that too not one time but recurrent expenditure. Khatri had been blackmailing Ishwari for quite some and she has donated for multiple girls wedding. Since Dev is not aware of this siphoning off all this while, shouldn't this be also labeled as stealing?
@jasw The Dixits did not take the cheque so the Boses were left with 4.5 crores...
DeleteAnd yes, Ishwari is the biggest thief of the show, yet she is absolved for everything
@BH, that is an assumption that Dixits did not take the cheque. So if 4.5 cr were lying with Bose's then why did not they buy back their Delhi house at that time? Why did they have to move to Kolkata and wait for 7 years to buy back their house?
Delete@ jasw
DeleteFirst of all, excellent piece of writing in the analysis thread... I hope it was from you
Secondly,
The Boses had taken collateral loan from the bank as it was shown in the episodes.
I had written a post on this in the weekly thread but I am unable to find it. If I manage to find it, I will explain that how they were left with 50 lakhs using the collateral loan.
Thanks @BH. I am a lazy and laid-back person in the forum. When Jshukla mentioned 50 lac ki chori being attributed to Bose family, I went to read the thread but got a return gift of a coin ek side being Ishwari and the other being Sonakshi!!! So had to present Sonakshi's side too!
DeleteI hate how Ishwari and Bijoy are compared and equalized, now Ishwari and Sona being compared and equalized! How a thief, who is insecure, always money minded(prenup), sly(gets Dev;s signature slyly), conniving person be compared with Bijoy or Sona is beyond my comprehension.
DeleteJasw, let them compare what they wanna... we have Tia's thread here where we can discuss things without any biases and superficial rules... If you see, that thread is very biased...
DeleteTia, your 10 reality points are bang on. Regarding Ishwari's glorification, I really don't know what to say! This lady changes her scripts/color according to the audience. In front of Dev, she was hugging Sona so warmly and in front of GKB, she did not even take the medicine from Sona! Kuch Ishwari ke Rang Aise Bhi! :D GKB at least has only one shade grade. Mataji changes her shades from white to black in a jiffy! I find GKB better than Ishwari. At least she is transparent. When she wanted to siphon off Dixit she resorted to tears, lies. And Mataji, she has been siphoning off Dev's money for Khatri(blackmail money) and Donations(dowry money to poor girls) without De's knowledge! No wonder she was always so worried about Dev's money. Now prenup also making sense. She did not want Dev's wife to know about these transactions. Dev toh is a dumb guy, uske naak ke neeche, Ishwari, Vicky sab haath saaf kar rahe hai and he is clueless.
ReplyDeleteLets see what drama unfold in the dinner. Hope Bijoy is not made a scapegoat!
Thanks Jas. That's precisely what I was saying. Ishwari is a backstabber. I said in my last post that of course she will hug Sona. You need your enemy closer to twist the knife better in their back. Ishwari is the kind of slow poison who kills slowly but is more deadly and merciless than fast poison because it tortures its victims.
DeleteShe speaks all the right stuff. But she can never do it. Because no matter what she appears to be, good intention and generosity are not part of her personality. Even if Sona agrees, Ishwari will be back to her tricks the moment Dev shows his love for Sonakshi.
Rr is anytime better human than eshwari. She is greedy for money. But she is loving mother. She is more transparent than eshwari.
DeleteAgree with both of you
DeleteSure. That means another leap. Sona is still single post leap and Dev is married to whatever bakri Ishwari found to halal.
ReplyDeleteNot only that he tweeted that new blog on the show coming soon and posted the old blog about characters not changing again,. https://twitter.com/durjoydatta/status/865864728345751552.
ReplyDeleteI have no expectations, again some new meaningless track.
Yep. Same old same old. Lol.
DeleteDo you really think another leap? actors ready for this? Specially Erica. She was not happy for first leap..will she continue?
ReplyDeleteDon't hit me. May be there will another 1 night stand and Sona will give birth to tiny Dev and the new phase will be new generation brother and sister as shaheer and Erica. What say?
ReplyDeleteThere was this rumor that a leap will take place with story focusing on Dev-Sona and Suhana, so I guess Tia, you might be right with this
ReplyDeleteGod, I'm so wayla... anyways check this shit out too...

Ooohhh... Can I write the next inner voice dialogue?
DeleteBhaiya: Shhh... Practice silence now that my Mummy approved you again. You have to adjust in my hell hole and try to do a better job this time keeping your opinion to yourself. Don't worry, darling. Once we get you in somehow, you'll never hear another sorry or thank you out of us again. This is a thankless volunteer opportunity, remember? 😂
Hahaha!! welcome to Ishwari welfare trust where you have to work for welfare of Ishwari only without raising your voice nor doing anything against the Goddess.. JAI HO
DeleteTia - That dialogue sounded positively scary , sans Bhaiyya's puppy dog face.
Deletehi guys so a completely unrelated question, THAT WE CAN NOW ASK!!! WOOHHOOO!!! so i kind of stopped watching ishqbaaz after they changed the heroine opposite omkara. the love story of the thief and the idealist was really interesting and when that was scrapped and the bhaichara was replaced by tashan wala couple problems, i was just not into it. but friend had said like 2 months back that the rudra story with the fat girl was super interesting and i had thought that was pretty great but was bummed with how everything was put on a back burner to give shivaaye anika tashan more footage. so was wondering if anyone thought their love story is worth watching the show (or is it the new dil bole oberoi show?)
ReplyDeleteHummm... I don't watch Ishqbaaz. People said that it will make me mad and apparently it also has Ishwari part 2 "that girl stole my son". But can anyone else answer Ten's question?
Deletethanks my love. IB is defo one of those shows where i'd be very surprised if you even managed to like the 'hero'. the other two brothers were sober but as far as i'd seen, the 'main' lovestory was your average run in the mills- let me manhandle you into loving me situations. i havent seen any of it recently but the past left a bad taste.
DeleteAaarrrgh... I will pass then. Manhandling is not my definition of love.
DeleteRunya (fat girl/fitness freak love story) is scrapped. They took new girl who looks like quintissential Gul heorine and will try to set her up opp rudy
Deleteliterally f that. im not interested in watching 3 back to back identical love stories.
DeleteThere's a new promo out and I guess to me it seemed more of the same --- sona playing mahaan and dev silencing her. It has romantic potential so fine --- not sure what they mean by next phase !!
ReplyDeleteI wrote the next dialogue for it. See below.
DeleteBhaiya: Shhh... Practice silence now that my Mummy approved you again. You have to adjust in my hell hole and try to do a better job this time keeping your opinion to yourself. the more i see this show, the more i realize how polarized the views on divorce and single parenthood are in our society and how little durjoy, mamta and co actually know about non-nuclear families and love marriages that fall apart and reconciliation between parents and couples as well :( we have a long way to go. i feel like more stories should be said about these situations and we should speak more about the ups and downs experienced in our 'unconventional' families. then people may start realizing that things arent as dramatic nor as simplex as they presume it to be.
ReplyDeleteYes, I have also noticed how much single parenthood or two single parents raising a child is an uncomfortable concept. People assume that just because two people are good parents to their offspring, they must be good life partner as well or be compatible when it's nothing to do with the other. There is absolutely no connection between the two. Not every good son is a good husband, not every good wife is a good daughter, not every good sister or brother is a good friend, not every good employee is a good boss Just because someone is good in one relationship doesn't mean that they will be good in others as well. Different relationships have different criteria to meet. And people are judged good or bad based on those criteria not by some other relationships' criteria.
Deleteofcourse! and even a good husband, the definition of that differs person to person. i have forgiven my husband things my friends thinks were pretty much deal breakers; i was a saint to let it go, whereas things they consider small or minor would be deal breakers for me. when two people break up, its usually due to underlying conflicts in value systems. dev clearly never learnt that putting your wife's self respect on equal footing is core, but sona expected that from him. dev knew exactly where he erred but had never thought to address that when not under pressure. thats what sona wanted- thats literally all she wanted. these clashes have to be addressed for a couple to get back together. a broken couple can reconcile when they've both grown from their experiences because its actually harder to reconcile than it is to find someone new. you have a world of insecurities pertaining to each other and you actually need to fight even harder than you'd have needed to prior in order to make the second chance work. furthermore, the saddest part is that they really think its super easy to be a parent. they pretend like dev is just a great parent because he was a great fun uncle to golu! it takes years of trial and error to get parenting right. most parents can lay down their lives for their children, its kind of part and parcel of bringing them to life. parenting is not about that. its about how you handle the everyday mundane activities. dev tries to teach his daughter how to cheat out of affection. my brother has been teaching my oldest sons to card count for our weekend poker nights. troublesome habits that uncles endulge children in. not fathers. fathers tell you- no boys, you cannot do that. just play the cards dealt to you in the best possible way. i mean dev is a guy who expects GOLU to understand why he lets soha win. his mental age is 7. how does he even qualify as a parent? jatin qualifies as a father, bijoy qualifies as a father, heck even useless mama qualifies as a father (albeit an unsuccessful one). dev is still just an uncle. are they really going to gloss everything over cos its more important to have a nuclear family than a competent father? or is competency less important than sperm donation?
DeleteHats off to all single mothers. Whenever woman is alone, men become extra helpful to take advantage of her. This is my biggest fear in my life. I hope God never put me in that condition. I really admire single mothers bravery. How I wished in the serial, sona's struggle was appreciated. But alas we got to see all taunts from from dev.
DeleteI completely agree with both of you on this. Dev has never learned to be a father. An indulgent uncle - yes. Father - no. The reason Golu and he have a relationship is not because of him, it's because of Golu's understanding nature. Dev knows the struggle his mother had gone through as single parent. But he never even bothered to ask how Sona raised Soha as single parent and still become successful. Not once he wanted to find out how Sona survived her second heartbreak by the same man. Instead he kept whining how difficult it was for him, a single man with no responsibility, having to sleep with multiple women. Boo hoo... Get me a bloody violin.
DeleteThat's why I said that one can be either a kid who expects everyone to let it go when he does crazy shit or they can be a parent. Both are not an option when you are responsible for a child.
TejAm, I saw your response to the shh .....video on Twitter. I don't have a twitter account, else I would have followed you
DeleteTejAm, I saw your response to the shh .....video on Twitter. I don't have a twitter account, else I would have followed you
Delete@Tejaswini:
DeleteYou have addressed the issue perfectly. Its value systems. The only thing Sona wanted from Dev, he never thought of giving to her. Even now, he is not thinking about fixing the problem, rather its all about what he wants or craves for, without bothering about what Sona wanted or would like to have from him. One-way relationships never work. Devakshi need to sort these things before they think of becoming a couple as this time risks are high with Suhana involved.
Really? Lol. I was using all those saas-bahu serial drama instances. Ah well, I guess this is also saas-bahu drama.
ReplyDeleteInteresting discussion !
ReplyDeleteBut I have a question unrelated to the topic.
Is Ishwari not worried about Sona revealing the details of her kaale kartoot to Bose family ? Its strange that she has invited the Boses over for dinner . Is this dinner like a token of appreciation. Something like " Your daughter saved my life and I thought I would host a dinner for her and her family. Thank you very much ! "
I don't know what twisted idea Ishwari has on her mind but whatever it is, I wish it would wipe that smugg confidence off Asha's face.
I think Ishwari thinks that all her kaala kartoot Sona must have revealed already to Bose family since she had 8 years to do so. If Sona hasn't revealed about her two bangle theft by now, she won't say anything later anyway. But considering she neither drank water from Asha nor medicine from Sona, I have no doubt that her intention is not good.
DeleteI don't what new they can actually show when they haven't resolved any issues or redeemed any characters from the previous tracks.
ReplyDeleteAs far as dev and sonakshi, I don't find any emotional attachment between them anymore. For me, they just have some leftover physical attraction towards each other, that's it, both should just get a room that's it. Now you guys maybe thinking I'm wrong. I just like to be practical. Sonakshi and dev had a lot of issues with regards to their marriage, none of those issues have been solved. More than anyone Sonakshi should know how complicated her life might get if she went back. So all this lovey dovey expressions they both are giving is just physical for me.
This situation just reminded me a Meryl Streep movie, "it's complicated".
Thanks Pramila -- as a single mom -- let me just say, everything seems tough . Parental support saw Sona and Soha through it all and not Dev!!
DeleteAs many have said - dev has not once bothered about SoNa and her feelings or how she coped ... he was too busy drinking, womanizing and feeling sorry for himself
No one expects a marriage to be perfect --- but there are non negotiable:
Fidelity -Consideration- Love-Respect and Trust ... dev doesn't have much of any of that. He loved Sona but this was a selfish kinda love
Agreed with both of you. I frankly have never seen true love from Dev for Sona since their marriage. When Sona did something for him or his family, he romanced her. When she didn't as he wanted he was rude to her or ignored her feelings or didn't pay attention to her suffering. That's exactly the kind of treatment Ishwari shells out. That's not love. As BH clearly pointed out, that's abuse.
DeleteSo that means that we fell in love with a serial that shows abuse.Kuch rang abuse ke aise bhi.
DeleteIt was love initially which turned into abuse because of Ishwari's role in their relationship....
DeleteI desperately want to see an Independent, strong Dev from now on and I don't care about Ishu's insecurities. Everything will fall in place if he man up. I hope and feel that I will get to see him.
ReplyDeleteI agree
DeleteWe watched this show for dev and sona --- the angst here is really for Dev to grow up and be a man ---
The man who wilm stand by his sona !!
Agreed. A woman married a man. If that man is right, then everything else can be tackled. Until Dev grows a spine and becomes his own person instead of dancing to someone else's tune (that includes both Ishwari and Sona), he won't be able to be a good husband to any woman.
DeleteA good Sunday AM or PM to you wherever you are! How is everyone doing?
ReplyDeleteChecking twitter and I saw : a) Pics from the set with Boses at the dinner; b) Apparently the news that Shaheer is back in Indonesia and so we are back to dev less episodes! and c) some fan-girl-ing over the new promo.
Maybe I am too cynical now --- Dev obviously overheard his mom & aunt and that they are not fully on board with Sona... so what on earth is he going to do? ! After all this --- she still has issues? Wow --- seems like the end of the line for Devakshi to me. Maybe he will support her decision NOT to marry him.
Whatever --- all I can say is --- cute as it seems, the fan girl fun seems a bit too premature :)/maybe I am just too old :)?
Actually it is growth in his character. You see he is unable to come out of his abuse, so its better if he lets Sonakhsi live her life which is what the initial promos promised us. Therefore, Dev should let go Sonakshi or take a stand and leave Ishwari(which will reduce his abuse).
DeleteRegarding fangirling.
DeleteSomething that psychology has taught me is that you eagerly want to see those things in others what you don't seem to have. If you yearn for love on screen, what does it mean then??
They crave for love and romance in their lives. So lets not judge them....
BH, not sure if I can agree to that one. I have mostly found equality in my partner and respect at my in laws. My sister had to fight for it, but she also ultimately got it. However we both wish to see this on screen also...I am keen to let people know how much more fulfilling life is when you share mutual respect with spouse. I was hoping that these makers will show the wrongs to make them right later or to show how people who don't accord respect to fellow beings suffer in the long run....sigh.. no light at the end of the tunnel except that of the speeding train.

DeleteNo light at end of tunnecessary. When there was one it turned out to be head light of speeding train. Good one. Even though I almost always stand on opposite side of your views. I can fully agree on this one.
DeleteMaharathikarna
J, we want that but for that to happen, Dev's guilt complex has to reduce since it is the only way through which Ishwari has been able to achieve her abuse. Dev's guilt complex comes from his dependent personality disorder which has reduced to a large extent but still has not been completely extirpated. So, if he eliminates it, then he should go and get Sonakshi since Ishwari won't be able to manipulate him and wreak havoc in his life.
Delete@maharath
If it is for me, then thanks. You can agree to disagree there :)
Why do I feel..we are gearing for extramarital affair. According spoiler new lady entering. Eshwari might announce dev and new girl marriage on family dinner. It will be like teaching asha a lesson.
ReplyDeleteWhole fandom thrilled for new phase.. I don't think it will reunion of devakshi. I feel rather extra marital affair. My heart so week..these days I hv hypertension problem. Is it possible this serial is cause for my BP?
Who knows, Pramila? Bhaiya was hardly living a life of a monk last 8 years. So let it be. At least Asha will get her rude attitude served back to her.
