Tia's Thread - Love Notes!!!

Today I would like to share something my husband and I discussed over the last weekend.

I told you that we went to Stratford Festival last weekend.

One of the shows we watched was Twelfth Night last Saturday night.

In that story, this duke who is crazy in love with a lady, keeps sending his minions to woo her on his behalf.

In the end, the lady falls in love with one of the minions he sent to impress the lady.

So when we came out, I said that even when I read the play way back when, I thought that the duke was a wimp. You don't send minions to do the task that matters to you. You certainly don't send minions to woo your lady.

My husband said that's right. It was a dumb move on the duke's part. Then he asked me if he had ever written any love letters for me like the duke wrote for his lady love.

I laughed and teased him that nope. Not like the duke.

He said that it's strange that he sends emails to friends occasionally whom he doesn't meet often. But the woman he loves most in the world never got a love letter from him.

So I told him, would I love getting proper love letters with hearts and rainbows? Yes. They are romantic and it's always nice to know how much you are loved. But I get love notes from him everyday. So I am good.

He was taken aback. He said when did he ever wrote me love notes?

I said that even when he comes home tired, he gives me a back rub if he sees me in pain, that's my love note.

When he writes me a text in the middle of a busy day that he is thinking about me or the picture of me on his desk made him smile, that's my love note.

When he calls me every night he is on business trip whether he is away for a day or a week, no matter how late and tells me he misses me and can't wait to be home - that's my love note.

When he looks at me and his eyes get a gentle glow of love and wonder and adoration, that's my love note.

Love can be felt as powerfully as hate and I feel it always surrounding me when he is around me.

So I may have never got a proper love letter from him. But I am never in doubt that he loves me to pieces.

That of course made him very happy.

But I didn't say that just to make him happy. I never bullshit to anyone. I only say what I mean.

The reason I said it is because I was one of those women who thought grand gestures are the only way to express love thanks to my weakness for Bollywood movies. Huge heart drawn on the beach, rose petals on dinner table while a candle casts a warm glow, walking on the beach hand in hand as rosy sun sets over the water - these were my idea of romance and love.

But in 7 years that I had known my husband (and 5 years of marriage), I have realised that I can barely remember all the grand gestures he did for me.

But I remember all the little things he does every day.

So, two things I learned over our fairly long relationship which I am proud to say that has only got better with time,

1. When you make an effort for something or someone, that means you value them. No one makes an effort for things or people who don't matter. So the easiest way to make a person feel taken for granted is to let others do things for them on your behalf and the easiest way to tell you care is to do something for them that cost you time and personal effort.

A hand written personalised love note goes a long way than a quick greetings card purchased over the counter.

2. The efforts doesn't need to be a grand gesture like taking the blame of someone else's theft. The efforts can be showing little consideration like talking to them, listening to them, understanding them, being patient when they are not, doing things that they love or just sending a note or a call to say that they are appreciated and they are important in your life.

For example, being respectful to the people they love, doing little things to win their family over, making an effort to spend time with them goes a long way than swaggering in with attitude and expecting them to fall at your feet in worship because you did what you should be doing anyway.

Long after grand gestures are forgotten, the little caring touches carries away past hurt, broken heart and torn relationships.

And that is the love notes which strengthens a relationship and gives it the core of pure steel that nothing and no one can break.

If Bhaiya again sends Maiya to win Sona back, then I will have the same thing to say for him as I said for the duke in the play. What an useless wimp!!!

EPISODE: The episode starts with Ishwari seeing Golu struggling to carry plates off the dining table. She is about to go and help when Sonakshi steps in and helps him.

She smiles and steps back thinking about what Dev said about the reason for Sonakshi's comeback in Ishwari's life.

Elena, Aarti and Soha are also helping in cleaning up.

Ishwari looks at them and smiles.

Just then Mamaji comes. He says that it feels good to have dinner with everyone again.

Ishwari says that Dev said something very important to me today. He said that there is a difference between being a grown up and growing up. If one doesn't learn anything from our past experiences, then we stand where we were standing before.

Mamaji says that's why they say that people should move with time.

Ishwari says that it seems that her Dev has grown up more than her. In all these years he kept learning something or other and I just kept counting years.

Mamaji says that people say that there is no age limit of learning. So the years she kept counting, she should learn from them.

Ishwari smiles and says that she will try.

Me: Wow!!! I am really really impressed. By the way, is it my imagination or did I say this exact thing in my blog that only stupid people don't learn from the past? It seems that statement was ditto applied here.

In the garden, Sonakshi is clinging to the swing. Bhaiya comes there and clears her throat.

Sonakshi looks at him.

He says: Tell me who I am.

Sonakshi says: You are stupid, arrogant, obhodro...

Bhaiya stops her: Hello, are you done? Now tell me who I am.

He mimics Aarti: I love to go to temple and bang spoon on dholki. My biggest fan is my mother and Vicky's mother.

Sonakshi laughs.

Bhaiya asks: Now tell me.

Sonakshi says laughing: Mami's best friend's daughter, Aarti. You are so mean.

She swats at his arm.

Bhaiya is still mocking: I like Aarti ji.

Sonakshi smiles.

She says: You know, this was always my most favourite place in the house.

Bhaiya says: I know.

She says: You know I tried to make something like this in Kolkata. But I didn't get the same feelings.

Bhaiya asks: Why?

She says: Because I realised that I had no one to share it with.

Bhaiya looks at Behena. Behena looks at Bhaiya.

And Soha comes running: Mumma...

Soha says that she got hurt.

Dev bends down and checks her injury and asks Sona to get the fast aid box.

Sona already knows the location of the first aid box. She runs to get it.

Sona puts medicine on Soha's wound and says: Soha, you know what we do when we get hurt.

Dev doesn't know but makes up stuff: We say that air can forget to stop moving, the sun may forget to rise. But...

Sona says: But your dad can't forget to show off.

Dev says: But Suhana can't forget to smile.

Sona does Soha's fast aid: But now Suhana is crying...

Dev asks her to tell him who hurt her.

Soha points at the grass.

So Dev and Sona beat up the grass.

Me: It was a cute family scene except,

1. How can Suhana get hurt from the grass? She came running from inside. Sona and Dev were alone in the garden. Unless Suhana got hurt here, then she went inside, then Sona and Dev came there and had their funny talk and the moment Suhana saw them together she remembered her injury and came running.

2. Even if you rub the grass hard on your softest part of your body, at the most you will get green skid marks. There's no way you will get bleeding wound.

3. Suhana fell in front of Dev before he realised she was his daughter when he came to drop Golu in school. When Dev was very concerned over her wound, she said that she is fine and he doesn't need to worry. When Golu pushed Soha, she didn't cry then either. Now suddenly, mere grass skid marks is making her bleed and cry? How?

Anyhoo, Ishwari comes there and sees Sona and Dev beating up the grass. She smiles seeing them.

Bhaiya and Behena get awkward.

Bhaiya says: Suhana got injured so we are putting medicine on them.

Suhana says to tell her Dadi how they were doing dhishom dhishom.

Sona says sorry.

Ishwari says: No worries. You guys continue your dhishom dhishom and when the ground has learned his lesson, come inside.

She is about to leave when Bhaiya calls her.

He asks them to take a selfie.

Ishwari says no.

But Sona insists.

They all stand with Suhana on Bhaiya's lap, Ishwari in the middle and Sonakshi on the other side.

Bhaiya takes selfie but he sees that Ishwari was looking at Sona.

He says: Why are you looking at her? Look at the camera. Once more.

Sona says: Okay, then on count of three, we will all say family.

They all say family and Bhaiya takes the selfie.

Soha says that this is world's best selfie.

Then Bhaiya shows it to Ishwari.

Sona says that she also wants to see. So she goes around Ishwari beside Bhaiya to see it.

Ishwari stands there softly smiling at them.

Me: Again, a very cute family scene some bloopers notwithstanding. Now all I want Maataji, now that you have came to the light, stay there and let your son dig his way out. Please don't try to acquire Sonakshi for him. Before Sonakshi can even think about being your daughter-in-law again, she needs to know that your son is reliable. So let him prove himself to her.

Bechara kab se hero banne ke liye taras raha hain. Unko bhi ek mauka do hero giri dikhane ka. Hero wohi jo heroine ka dil khud jeete.

(Poor think is desperate to be a hero. Give him one chance to prove his mettle. Hero is the one who wins over heroine on his own)

Ishwari comes in and bumps into Bijoy.

He says: You won't scream ghost again, would you?

Ishwari says very politely: No. It was dark, suddenly you were on front of me so I got scared. I am sorry. And I could not say it to you before, but I am really happy that you came with your whole family. Thank you for coming.

Bijoy says: I had to come. I am worried about my daughter. I don't want to see her hurt again. As it is I am more worried since coming back from Kolkata.

Ishwari says: You are Sonakshi's dad so your worry is justified. Sonakshi is very...

Bijoy interrupts: Very sweet and nice and also strong. But I don't want her to fall for these useless emotions again and get hurt.

Ishwari says: Don't worry. Your daughter is very intelligent. She will do what is right.

Then she looks at Radha, Ronita, Saurabh and Elena teasing each other. She says: I am very happy to meet your daughter-in-law, Ronita. She is very sweet. It doesn't feel that I am meeting her for the first time. She is very jolly.

Bijoy says: Because she is our daughter-in-law later and friend first. That's why she is comfortable with us. Sometimes we feel that Saurabh is our son-in-law and Ronita is our daughter.

Ishwari's expression indicates that she realises that this is the way a daughter-in-law should be treated.

Bijoy says: There is only one thing I don't like about Ronita. Her husband.

Then he starts laughing at his own joke until he realises who he is laughing with and walks away from there.

Ishwari says to herself: You can say it like this because you have understood that the name of relationships aren't more important than people.

Me: Aaj to kamaal ho gaya. Sab ek ek kar ke line mein aa rahe hain. Ishwari ki batti kya jali, poora jahan mein ujala ho gaya.

(Today is a miracle day. Everyone is coming into their place. Ishwari got so enlightened that everything is lit up everywhere)

Radha sees the mother-daughter duo is sitting in a room.

Radha says that she had been looking for them.

What's-her-name-lady says that did Radha call them to insult them? She had promised that today Ishwari will talk about her son's marriage and they will finalise something.

Radha assures them that something will happen.

The lady says how? There's something else going on here. No one is talking about Aarti and Dev. And that girl is here with her whole family. Then why did she call them?

Radha says that this is not marriage alliance of just anyone. This is Dev Dixit's alliance. So stay calm.

Me: Yes aunty, you can sit down and dream about future bank balance which you will never see in a lifetime.

But the lady says: Pot calling the kettle black. First you call us here to insult us and now asking us to keep cool? You should be ashamed of yourself.

She drags her daughter out.

Me: May I say that I am enjoying Radha's insult way more than I should?

Radha says: If this Bangalan wasn't here, then I'd have...

She goes after then.

In the meanwhile, Golu bumps into Aarti and spills juice on her dress.

Aarti comes into her real self: Idiot, what have you done?

Golu stammers in fear: Aunty, I am sorry.

Aarti says: Sorry, my foot.

Golu stammers some more: Aunty, it was a mistake...

Aarti is now in kill bill mode since Bhaiya didn't sing her kirtan (religious songs in annoying sound pollution level) grabs Golu: Shut up. If you say anything else, I will...

Sorry, she said she will do something with chilli. I don't know what is that.

Sonakshi sees Aarti talking to Golu like that. She comes running.

She holds Golu and tells him: It's okay Golu. This aunty doesn't know how to talk with kids. We will teach her, what say Golu?

Golu nods.

Sonakshi says: Come on, tell aunty how to talk.

Aarti says: Do you think this is a joke? His brain got fat by eating too much.

Everyone, except Ishwari and Radha, comes there and hears Aarti's speech.

Me: Ab to Aarti ki aarti hogi, chappal se, aur wo bhi high heels wali.

(Now Aarti will get grand welcome, with shoes and that too of high heels variety)

Sonakshi says sarcastically: Wow, isn't your vocabulary a little unique? I think I will have to buy Maata's chawki volume 32. Anyway, you two are guests here. And a child of this home made a mistake. I am also saying sorry.

Aarti: Who are you to say sorry? You are also a guest here. Do you know the price of the dress he ruined?

Golu says: Bigchi, aunty is just screaming. I said sorry to her so many times.

Sonakshi consoles Golu: I know, I know.

She then turns to Aarti: Actually Golu and me, in fact we all, don't ask a lady her age, her weight and the price of her outfit. But we can send your dress for dry cleaning. That much we can do.

The mother, what's-her-name: How dare you talk to my daughter like this?

Sonakshi responds: Auntyji, I didn't even raise my voice. She was talking to Golu so rudely that I could not tolerate. We don't talk to kids like that in our home.

The mother says: What do you know about kids? You could not even save your marriage.

Me: What's that got to do with the price of apple? What rubbish excuse is that you idiot woman? Just because her marriage didn't work out, does it makes her automatically ignorant about kids? Then I can also say that just because your daughter wears blue suit, she can't peel banana. There. It has exact same logic as your statement. Duffer woman.

Honestly, Radha's choice of people is as bad as her English.

But Sonakshi becomes quiet.

Me: Ronita ki mummy ko to lecture de diya tha. Ab saanp sung gaya kya?

(You gave a long lecture to Ronita's mother. Now what happened?)

Bhaiya is also about to move a muscle but stops. He just got fed so must be feeling like taking a nap.

Me: Haan Bhaiya. Aap to so jao. Waise bhi aap kisi kaam ke to ho nehin. Nalayak kahike. Maata ki akal raaste pe aayee. Lekin aapki akal kab line pe aayegi?

(Yes Bhaiya. You go take a nap. You are of no use to anyone anyway. Useless creature. Maata got her brain on track. God knows when your brain will start functioning properly).

Bijoy gets pissed off and is about to charge on the lady when Asha pulls him back.

Finally Ishwari steps in. She first caresses Golu and says: Golu, don't worry child.

Then she turns to the lady: I don't think you met Suhana (she brings Suhana in the front). She is Dev and Sona's daughter. Anyone who meets her falls in love with her. This is how her mother, Sonakshi has raised her. And that too alone. No one could see Suhana and guess that this child never even met her father or his family for 7 years. Whatever Suhana is is because of Sonakshi. I don't think anyone can be more talented and responsible than Suhana.

But still, I apologise for my mistake. Because I had just invited my own today. I should have told you that you have no place here in this dinner tonight.

Bhaiya smiles.

Me: I swear Bhaiya again pissed me off today.

Today there were three Mama bear protecting their own and three useless creature who should not have had any kids.

Mama Bears: Sona, Bijoy, Ishwari

Useless Creatures: Dev, Asha, Elena

Bhaiya keeps claiming that Golu is like his son. But what did he do for Golu tonight? Nothing.

When Sonakshi got insulted due to defending Golu, what did he do? Nothing.

What use is he of anyone? Nothing.

Elena claims she is Golu's mother. But I doubt that. Someone is behaving rudely to her child. Her sister is defending her son and she is nodding in the back instead of giving them a proper answer.

Asha is another useless woman. I still haven't seen her ever protecting her daughter. She just stands there like a statue as if saying that yes, I have given birth to the whipping post for anyone to take potshots at her.

The point is not if anyone can protect out loved ones or themselves can protect themselves. The point is standing by them and protecting them not because they need it. But because we love them.

My 6'2" massively built husband doesn't need my protection. But let anyone say anything insulting to him, I will rip them into tiny pieces. My husband says that I am like a kitten in regular life - always hungry, totally lazy, love cuddles and warm weather. But when anyone looks at my own sideways, I am like Royal Bengal Tigress - on attack mode and out for blood.

The lady gets angry at Radha for inviting her and leaves with her daughter.

Me: Good riddance.

Bhaiya announces: The most important part of dinner is waiting for us - dessert. Let's go.

Me: Haan, tu butler hi ban ke reh. Gadha kahika.

(Yes, you just be a butler, duffer)

Everyone starts to leave.

Bijoy whispers to Asha wondering why suddenly Ishwari is defending Sona and being so nice to her. What is going on? His brain has gone twisted.

Asha says that she doesn't know and walks away.

Me: And Bijoy, don't forget to ask her to learn from Ishwari how to protect one's own children. I doubt she has ever learned it. It's time she also learns something good considering Ishwari is beating Asha on motherhood score tonight.

Sona turns Golu around and asks if he is okay.

He says: Thank you Bigchi for saving me from the scary aunty.

Sona says: How could I have not saved you? Because my Golu is the best.

Golu says: You are the best.

Sona says: You are the best.

They bicker and walk away.

Ishwari smiles watching them.

Radha says: What have you done? I agree that by mistake Kalpana (Me: Uh right Kalpana. Well who the heck cares?) and Aarti became angry birds. But we could have made her a locked bird in a cage after marriage.

Me: I wish one day you enjoy the same privilege. In jail. Then you can chirp there.

Ishwari says: No Bhabhi. Now I have learned right from wrong just now. I can't make any mistakes with Dev. But Bhabhi, everything happened, happened in front of you. It's good naa that their thinking came in front of us. You don't worry about finding anyone for Dev. I will find Dev's bride on my own.

Radha: That means that you...

Ishwari: Yes.

Me: And the bride she has in mind is going to put you in real tight bind.

So if you have any brain cells of your own, then pack your bags and leave the town.

I am so happy that Ishwari stopped Radha's interference. Today she is hitting every ball out of the park.

Everyone is enjoying dessert. Soha is feeding Golu and Dev is feeding Suhana. And even Bijoy is chatting with Mamaji.

Ishwari smiles.

Sona says to Golu: Do you know Golu? Your BigCha used to look very good clean-shaven. Like gentleman types.

Bhaiya's vanity gets hurt: What do you mean? How do I look now?

Sona hugs Golu and answers honestly: Like loafers.

Ishwari smiles.

Me: Wow, finally Behena you said it. Now Bhaiya will appear clean shaven. Because we all know he has only one asset to offer. So gotta take care of that asset, no?

Then Ishwari notices that Golu and Soha both are hiding their bowls.

She asks: What's going on? Why did you two hid your ice cream seeing me?

Golu responds: Then you will ask for ice cream, no?

Soha points at Golu (Or Sona?)

Ishwari asks what is she pointing at?

Golu says: Ex-Bigchi said not to have ice cream in front of you. You will feel bad if we will eat ice cream in front of you. Then you will feel like having it and you are not allowed to have ice cream.

Sona shushes him: I told you to hide it, not to say it.

Ishwari laughs.

Golu says: Sorry Bigchi.

Sona says: It's okay. No need to say sorry. It's not your fault. It's that loafer's fault.

Bhaiya protests: What did I do?

Sona says: Arre? Why did you bring this ice cream? Couldn't you have got sugar free ice cream?

Suddenly she looks up and sees Bijoy quietly eating ice cream.

She gets up and snatches Bijoy's bowl: See, how Baba is enjoying ice cream. He even finished it. Didn't doctor said not to have sugar?

Me: Really? So what about your mother? Didn't she have diabetes? She is still holding the bowl she ate from? Last time her birthday couldn't be celebrated because she had diabetes and needed sugar free cake.

Then Bhaiya had to wake up a chef, baby sit his totally nuisance kids to get the cake to you inducing collective Awwwww from the fandom.

Now what? Let mummy die since she is as useless as a goat wearing a tie?

Bijoy says: Arre? Then what will I have? Bitter gourd?

Saurabh says: I will get it right away.

Bijoy glares at him and everyone laughs.

Sonakshi offers to make something for both of them.

Radha retorts: No need. (Then fixes her tone to saccharine sweet) I mean Jassi must have cleaned the kitchen already.

Sonakshi asks: Does that mean these two won't get anything?

Mamaji chimes in: Yes, if Radha gets her way then no one will get anything.

Sonakshi asks: Will you eat auntyji?

Ishwari says: See, I have always followed all instructions of my nutrition. Whatever she gave, I ate. Why won't I eat today then?

Sonakshi asks Bijoy: Will you eat too?

Before Bijoy could say anything, Ishwari says: Please eat whatever your daughter gives. Whatever she gives us will be good for us anyway.

Bijoy is pleased and Dev is too.

Sonakshi says: Okay, I will make something.

She leaves.

Bijoy is still trying to process everything.

Asha looks at him and shakes her head.

Later Sonakshi brings something that looks like Kheer or like Bengali Payesh which is quite similar to Payasam.

Ishwari says: Arre so fast?

Sonakshi gives both Ishwari and Bijoy their treat and says: Yes, I did some experiment with milk and made it. Taste it and tell me how it is.

They both eat the dessert.

Radha is fuming at Sonakshi (as usual). She thinks that two days back Ishwari wasn't even taking medicine from Sonakshi and now look at her.

Me: Good point. CVs, kindly shed light on that. Because right now, we are also confused like Bijoy.

Ishwari says: This is really delicious.

Bijoy says: It's good.

Sonakshi says: Okay, then return it.

Bijoy grabs the bowl and says: No no, I was just joking.

Soha says: Mummy makes everything best. So no kidding from now on.

Bijoy says: Hummm... See, I said something to Mummy and the daughter got angry.

Asha says: She is Mummy's tail, naa.

Me: Did you guys notice that when Bijoy saw that Sonakshi is given her due respect, his mood uplifted? There is only one way to this guys heart and it's through his family's happiness. When his family is happy, he is happy. When he perceives danger to his family, he gets instantly on protective mode. How can anyone blame a person for that?

I honestly adore Bijoy Bose with all his cranky and rude behaviour.

Sona notices that Golu is sleepy. She asks: Are you tired? Then let's go to bed.

Elena is about to get up: Should I come too?

Sonakshi says: No no. I will get them to bed.

She takes the kids.

Ishwari says: They had a lot of fun today.

Me: Elena, why do you do drama? Since when you went to get Golu to bed? Let it be.

Mamaji is in his room where Ishwari comes.

He asks what's the matter.

Ishwari says: It seems my life has taught me a big lesson. But I am still not understanding something which may be you can explain to me.

Mamaji asks what?

Ishwari says: When Sonakshi came in this home as my nutrition, I needed time, but I gave myself to her and I got better. But Sonakshi didn't just stop there. She started improving everyone's life. She always thought of others before herself. I used to like Sonakshi very much at that time.

Mamaji asks: You USED to like her?

Ishwari says: I still like her now.

Mamaji asks: You still like her now when she is no one to you. You have no relationship with her now.

Ishwari says: That's what I want to ask. Is it all relationship's fault?

Mamaji says: Do you know how difficult to maintain relationships? Because we put so much burden of expectations on others, they can't keep carrying them.

Ishwari asks: That's what I did, no? When I was Ishwari, I liked Sonakshi very much. But when I saw her as Dev's mother, I got scared. But why, Bhaiya?

Mamaji says: Now that you have reached to the question. You will also get the answer.

Ishwari says: We love our children so much, no? When Dev grew up then he didn't need me as much. So I got scared. Dev used to do everything holding my hand. Then how would he will now do everything holding someone else's hand - Sonakshi's hand? I started to get scared that if that happens then somehow I will be left behind. Because of this fear, I used to ignore all goodness of Sonakshi. She was Dev's love. I have done very bad with Sonakshi, isn't it Bhaiya? And now that I am feeling bad, am I feeling like this because Sonakshi did a favour on me or this is in reality?

Mamaji: Ishwari, I have seen you supporting Sonakshi with my own eyes. As much as you like her, she also likes you. She doesn't just think about Dev, Soha and her own family. She also thinks about you and your family.

Ishwari: When she can do so much for our family, can't I make a little place in my heart for her?

Mamaji: That's the reality Ishwari. If you like Sonakshi because she is good.

Ishwari: That's the lesson I learned. My Dev's happiness is not because of just Soha. His happiness is also because of Sona.

Mamaji shushes her: Before you think this, also think that there are walls between Dev and Sona which they could not breach. Your thinking this is not going to be easy.

Ishwari thinks.

Me: I loved loved loved this scene. For the first time Ishwari came to listen, understand and work on herself. And for the first time Mamaji didn't bullshit her to pacify her. He spoke the truth.

You can't talk sense to someone who has their mind closed. For a successful discussion and conversation, both sides need to have their ear and mind open.

Today that finally happened.

I also loved that Mamaji reigned Ishwari back from charging ahead. It's something Dev and Sona have to do. She should just stand back and be supportive.

It's about time Bhaiya takes the lead in his own life instead of playing supporting role while others lead.

PRECAP: Sonakshi tells Bhaiya: Now even I feel that the anger between the two families will go down. So thank you Mr. Dev Dixit. You didn't give up hope.

Ishwari thinks: Even though my family is here, they are not together. Now I will fill colours in this painting.

Me: No no no... Maata, really? Didn't you learn from the past? Let your son do something for a change. Sona ko aap se thodi shaadi karni hain? Kaun nithalla aadmi se shaadi karta hain?

(Sona is not going to marry you. Who marries useless man?)

How will Sona rely on your son when you do everything for him? Read my little blurb in the beginning and let him make his personal effort. Personal as in, by his own person. Not your person. Get it?

NO RULES!!! YAY!!!

  1. Soumya here...Tia, I loved what you wrote here...for matter of fact...I love whatever you write :P

I agree on what you say...you dont need long love letters...candle night dinners...expensive gifts...to know if the other person loves you or not...its the simple things that matter...a good morning smile....a hug after a long day...sitting beside you when you are tired...a small msg in the middle of your day...they do it...and being there with you for you...

  2. Awwww... Seriously don't be creeped out but if you were my wife and you said those things I would have fallen in love with you all over again. I bet he did too. I so agree...It's not about man or woman. I believe when you are in love and want to have someone in life, you need to gather all courage and do it yourself . Asking out, proposing, whatever the stage of relationship you have. And once you have then on your life you cherish them each day by small and big things. Just to let them know they are very specific to us and we love them every moment we live.

As for the episode, the major plus of this show has always been the cast. The lead actors have always done justice with their acting, no matter how bad the track is. Today after a long time I sat through the whole episode and actually watched ishwari's scenes.

Agreed I still have a lot of complaints with no redemption track, ishwari being goddess, dev being a jerk, Sonakshi doormat, asha and saurav hypocrisy. I was even as befuddled as bijoy with ishwari's behavior, yet today's episode was kind of soothing, had a calmness to it. I even liked ishwari-mamaji convo, which I usually never do. I guess this is the reason, we viewers still are attached to this show.

    2. Since you mentioned the acting capabilities of the leads there was this one scene today when sona was defending golu and ishwari came over there. In that scene I loved the way supriya ji acted she was able to convey in a split second a myriad of emotions like assessing the issue and a sense of understanding and determination to solve it. It takes a great degree of talent to pull such a scene off. She is the kind of actress who was missed out by the film world.

    3. Thank you. Yes, as confused I am about the episode, I am still enjoying them due to things being addressed. Today Bijoy and Ishwari's conversation was long overdue with Ronita as the proof. Also Mamaji and Ishwari's conversation was also overdue because finally Ishwari is listening without being defensive.

  6. Today's highlight for he was bijoy-ishwari conversation. Liked the way how calmly he pointed out why ronita is so comfortable with his family, the core problem of ishwari with Sonakshi. In fact, his comment about what he dint like about ronita, her husband was actually funny to me. He's a straightforward guy, he respects others and expects just that from others. Like this character even my re today.

Dev - was, is and will always be useless. I don't expect him to defend Sonakshi, he is a lost cause there. At least he could have opened his mouth for golu' sake. That poor kid loves him unconditionally, some stranger is treating the kid badly, yet this guy won't even stand up for the kid. Worthless piece of shit really. Elena is just a prop, so I don't expect anything from her.

    1. Absolutely. I always felt that Ishwari can get annoyed with Bijoy but he is a straight shooter. What he says is exactly what's on his mind. So she knows where she stands with him.

If anyone could bring Ishwari's attention to how a daughter-in-law should be treated, it would have been Bijoy because Asha will never say anything.

I think that the reason Ishwari approached Mamaji for that talk because of the discussion with Bijoy and her realization how an in-laws relationship should be.

  7. Tia wonderful write up as usual. Yes indeed the little gestures indeed matter more than the pretentious ones. I once asked my grandmother who has been married to my grandfather for since forever if he ever told her I love you and she gave me a simple answer no but he always puts my medicine into my hands on time and he brings me glass of water along with it. He is 94 and she close to 80. He still does it. I guess that's indeed love ❤️

In that story, this duke who is crazy in love with a lady, keeps sending his minions to woo her on his behalf.

In the end, the lady falls in love with one of the minions he sent to impress the lady.

i so agree ppl should do perfectly not send a mediator like dev does i think sona should reject dev on his face when ish try to unite them lets hope makers will show that ....
no offense tia i had zero interest to watch todays episode because i know only ott is stored this week ....
i totally agree and i loved the topic about love letter u mentioned about u and ur hubby share ..i totally agree even i don't like fancy gifts a long walk and peaceful talks in enough to please me same with my hubby ...week days we hardly get time to talk because of work but saturday and sunday is our day ...sunday is like lazy day but saturday a long drive is a must thats when we get to talk ...no offense we both believe in valentine /birthday because we feel everyday is special ...on valentine only a simple single red rose is enough to put a smile on my face and his fav dish prepared by me is enough to bring a smile because he is foodie thats enough for life we dont fancy big high gifts we laugh about seeing others do so or when we see it onscreen we feel its showoff ...the respect is enough to tag it love and without saying a word seeing each others face is enough for us to know what is happening ...call it magic if his voice is low i will get to know he too will guess it ...thats our secret love letter ...tia ....
i must say today u wrote beautifully the first paragraph is the best beautiful lines ever ......
coming to the show omg i dont know how to react i feel next week is the turning point either sona in dixits or out of dixits ....till now its not clear is the show ending or not ....craving to see a sensible end from the makers i want it to end gracefully ....

The thing is though that I want Ishwari to not do anything this time. But of course she will. But I don't want her to.

The reason is that if Behena and Bhaiya can't figure out each other's importance without outside push, then how will they survive if Ishwari dies and when Soha gets married?

Something should be done by us. Those are the things we can't delegate. Like righting a wrong or fixing a damaged relationship or mending a broken trust.

It's about time Bhaiya did something on his own.

  12. The Ishwari-Mama scene is good if you watch as a stand alone, if you watch as a series, this scene seems flat because Ishwari and Mama had a similar conversation in S1 but that didn't help Ishwari realize anything.

I'd like Durjoy to use the blog post he has promised to address the sudden change in Ishwari (i.e. what happened in mere hours that didn't happen in years), as well to address why there was so much bitterness (the comment on Sonakshi's parenting, the lying to Dev about Sona marrying Jatin, mission Suhana Dixit, calling Sonakshi "baharwale" before she had her fake heart attack, not taking meds/water from the Boses) in S2 if this was how they were going to purify Ishwari.

I'd also like to understand from Durjoy why Ishwari was such a cold-hearted bitch to Sonakshi during the infertility track especially when Dev told her that it was his fault for faking the pregnancy and Sonakshi also just found out she wasn't pregnant. Ishwari's behaviour at that point had very little to do with her insecurities or even the separation, it was pure evilness. She had made the same realizations about Sonakshi's goodness then as well (she said that Sonakshi always tried to keep the family together etc). Also, why did she turn Sonakshi away when she came to see the Dixits with baby Suhana. I know she said she didn't want Sonakshi to see Dev, but what had stopped her from seeing Sonakshi herself, out of respect for the good person Sonakshi was?

It is insulting that the writers have taking this route to please Devakshi fans, after all that krpkab fans endured after first break up to this sudden realization of Ishwari. It feels like the writers didn't have a clear plan of how the story would unfold in S2 and just "winged it" hoping that the romance of Devakshi will continue to pull eyeballs and the audience will forget that there really wasn't a solid story. I guess they were right, and I'm the loser to expecting a good story instead of fawning over nonsensical romance (which would have come organically with a good story).

TL; DR;: Durjoy Datta, please tell us why you made Ishwari so evil in S2 if this is how you planned to redeem her. Also why was the infertility track so bitter if it didn't contribute to the story (because Suhana's birth doesn't justify the track since Dev and Sonakshi were married and were sexually active at the time of the separation ... the hickey scene was proof of this)

    1. Didn't they have to have the story set ahead of time since Shaheer was going to be flying back and forth to complete his movie? That's why the holes in S2 make no sense, they should have figured out the main plot ahead of time at least, how did they mess it up so badly?

    2. That's exactly it. Every episode of this week is good as standalone but they don't connect with this season's previous scenes or last season's scenes. Of course it doesn't help that they are making Bhaiya seem utterly dumb and in need of therapy.

But the questions you asked here are all valid questions. You should tweet the CVs them and ask for an explanation.

    3. There are lot of flaws in the script/story telling. The biggest example is all boses are ok with dixits after the eviction. Nobody remembers.

And recently in the hospital eshwari don't wanted to water or medicine from boses. All of a sudden she is showing redeemed.

I think they are testing on script. They write day to day basis. No continuation.

Btw, Twelfth night is one of my favorites from Shakespeare's writings alongwith Hamlet.

Tia, you are blessed to have a husband who takes care of the little things. Little things though not visible leave a much bigger impact in our hearts than the grand things.

Sonakshi's little things in love is also example of this which overshadowed Dev's explicit show of affection behind doors.

    1. Thanks BH. Yes, I remember Lavanya using that term. I agree with you. Those are two of my favourite scenes too. In fact I think the conversation Bijoy had with Ishwari opened up her reflecting on the past and her role in breaking up Dev and Sona's marriage which led her conversation with Mamaji. Until now, she was almost refusing to think about the past and even when she did it was always to blame Sonakshi. But after Bijoy showed their relationship with Ronita, that served as eye-opener for her.

Thank you. Yes, I know I am very lucky to have such a wonderful man in my life. I hope everyone a person like that in their life because we all deserve to be loved and to be happy.

    2. spot on analysis.... Ishwari realization although seems forced but all she had to was accept that she had been a bad mother since it was the main thing driving her guilt. The premise used for accepting her guilt was utter BS but it opened gates for her to drive away her narcissism. After that, she became a human being who was able to perceive things with the Goddess syndrome. She understood that Sonakshi was not trying to snatch away Dev like lavanya mentioned in her post but was the actual binder between the two. And Bijoy's words helped her in accepting this thought of hers that it was her insecurities which ruined the relationship as Bijoy had treated her daughter in law like a daughter and not caretaker of his son.

Wishing you infinite blissful and full of merriment years of marriage with your husband. And its definitely the love from your side as well who adores the little things done by him. You are definitely lucky. and he's lucky to have you as well :)

  14. OMG, love Bujoy and Ishwari convo today. Wow Bujoy Ishwari trusts your daughter more than you, she tells him that his daughter is mature and sensible and won't fall in emotional blackmail as he thinks/worried. So much positivity, my heart is overwhelming and bit of difficulty in digesting Ishwari's behaviour but never mind. It's beautiful.

    1. I think Bijoy trusts Sonakshi. But he doesn't trust her tendency to get influenced by Dev and Ishwari. Ishwari on the other hand has no desire to manipulate Sonakshi for her son. So she believes that Sonakshi will take the right decision. Another good thing that came out of that conversation was that it opened up Ishwari's eyes to her treatment of Sonakshi. Which led to my next favourite scene of the day - the conversation between Mamaji and Ishwari. Until now Ishwari was only talking about her guilt from theft and Sonakshi saving her. But now she focused on her failure as a mother-in-law when Bijoy pointed out how comfortable Ronita is with them in such a short time despite this being an arranged marriage and them never spending time with Ronita before to build prior relationship.

  18. Like someone said on forum, the only saving grace would be if Sona refuses to remarry.

It is season 1 all over again. The episode was good-- for SoIsh shippers... Not DevAkshi shippers TBH. We wanted Dev to stand up, him to redeem, him to fight. Not Ishwari. Today when Sona was accused, it was Ishwari who stood up. Like WTF? Now again Ishwari will get them closer and propose on Dev's behalf. Here we go again.

We are Indian TV janta and apart from our high expectations from this show, we are used to villain saas thing. That was never the problem. The main problem we had was with Dev. And the problem is not even shown in limelight, let alone solved. What are we suppose to feel by knowing that Dev had always known his mother and still kept loving them separately.

Dude, you never loved Sona properly. Just admit it.

For heaven's sake, we knew the whole time that you knew what was wrong yet couldn't do anything about it. Admitting that and introspection is sort of progress, yes... But sorry, it doesn't really make a difference until you rectify the mistake, not just acknowledge it.

I mean who was he waiting for when his one sets of guests in his home is insulting the other sets of guests and the supposedly son like nephew? I mean he blew a gasket when Bijoy scolded Golu for ruining Ronita's wedding outfit and here he is watching this strange woman insult the same nephew, his guest and supposedly love of his life. Great. That's why I said, he is good as show piece or fake prop that is literally useless in day to day life.

  19. It is a lot more subtle this time... But it is the same as S1. A reunion requires Ishwari's consent. She would first approve, then take steps, apologise and guarantee the Boses of her daughter's happiness. (All the things Dev is supposed to do). Meanwhile, Dev realises that it was his fault all along and speaks about it, goes steady then gets tired and gives up. Doesn't this remind you of the drama post 12th September 2016 phase of KRPKAB???

Exactly guys, exactly. The only difference is that Ishwari is (58.69% chance) genuine this time.

    1. Precisely. That's why I am wondering why should Bijoy or Sona consider Dev for re-marry? It seems more likely that Sona can offer to marry Ishwari since she is genuinely shown to make personal effort to get her back. Bhaiya is just letting others clear his way just like in season one.

  20. Loved your love notes, Tia. Absolutely true, these little gestures out of love on a regular basis are much more valuable than once in a life, grand gestures. I remember when Sona & Soha were supposed to go to Bose family, Bijoy had brought patishapta(sweet dish) for Sona. It was a different thing Soha did not come and Sona also got late as she was solving Khatri case. That shows Bijoy love, care, concern. Similarly, today when Ishwari came during dishum dishum with grass, Dev invited his Mom for a selfie. These gestures are borne out of love. Hope Dev exhibits these gestures for Sona too!

It is a milestone kind of an episode regarding Ishwari's realization! As a person, Ishwari liked Sona but as a MIL she did not like her. It took 300+ episodes for her to realize this. Of course Raunita's example and Bijoy's talk drilled some sense to this lady. Bijoy's quirky joke, "I don't like one thing about Raunita... her husband" was too good. I adore this guy.

Today, it was good chance for Dev to defend Sona, and make a good impression on Bijoy but alas Ishwari took it. I really hope she does not do matchmaking again as per the promo and let Dev do the needful. How many episodes do we have to wait for Dev to do that, I wonder!

    2. Thank you, Jas. That's exactly what's my problem with Bhaiya. He does no effort for Behena. He arranged for dinner party, expected his mother to cook as in make the effort. He wanted Behena back, but let his mother defend her honour. He wants to be the best friend, but he is no where around standing by Sona when she is insulted. Then what use is he of anyone? None.

I always liked Bijoy for his honesty. He only has one weakness and that's his family. When his family is treated well, he is happy and cheerful. When his family is threatened, he is cranky and in attack mode.

Ishwari is treating Sonakshi well, so he is talking politely to her. Forgiveness will come with consistent efforts on Ishwari's part. But if he sees that she is making an effort, he will forgive her.

That's also exactly why he can't forgive Dev because he does not see him doing anything for his family. The theft incident he does not know. And Bhaiya had a tendency to talk big and deliver none. So he can't respect that.

If Bhaiya is to redeem himself, he will have to prove to Bijoy that he is making personal effort for his daughter. He does not need flattering himself. He just wants his daughter's happiness and he has valid reason to believe the it does not lie with Dev based on past experiences.

  21. Good story about this whimp. I haven't heard or read before.

In krpkab our dev babu still not realised he has to think about Sonakshi. The day he starts thinking about Sonakshi as a guardian.. .He will realise how he is unfit for her. Now also he is thinking about himself, his mother n his daughter. But the day he starts thinking for sona..what she went through and what is best for her would bring redemption in him. But I highly doubt about that track.

    1. Pramila, Twelfth Night is one of Shakespeare's comedies. I would say that his tragedies are way better than his comedies except The Taming of the Shrew and A Midsummer Night's Dream. But it is a decent comedy (of errors as in mistaken identity). I am sure there is some free copy available on the net if you are interested.

I agree. I wanted him to stop thinking about him as in why Sonakshi is useful for him and for once start thinking about Sonakshi as in why should she let him in her life again. If he thinks about that, he will know that Sonakshi does not need him. That's where the personal efforts come in. Because when you make personal efforts, you may convince her that she may not need you, but she may want you. Buy without any efforts, he might as well be a show piece. He does not much else use in Sonakshi's life except one more liability to take care of. And Sona needs more responsibility as much as she needs a bullet in her head.

    e) WINNING OVER bijoy!
    f) Sona taking only baby steps!

I'd like Ish to be the foil giving Sona more comfort through it - but staying OUT OF IT!

    1. Great ideas. Someone tweet them to CVs before they again make Ishwari the mastermind behind their re-union.

    2. Oops... Too late. They already made Ishwari the mastermind.

  25. It has become so blissful to watch the show after a long time, nice to see so much positivity in the episodes. Loved the episodes of the last week especially Friday. Keep rocking KRPKAB.

    1. Yes, true. Even though the flow was affected, it was much of a relief to watch the story moving forward. If none of the main character had changed, the story would have stagnated.

  26. I don't know but I feel that Dev will still be a mamma's boy? Why do I have negative feeling? I am not able to completely trust dev yet even so I can imagine how Bujoy and Sona feel.

    1. We will have to see if there's any improvement in Bhaiya and his exam papers have been set. Check this out. https://youtu.be/EihOG7VYiBw It seems Ishwari is back in trying to arrange Behena for Bhaiya. Now the question is if he will stand up and refuse to dance to her tunes or again do as per his mother's wish.

    2. Oh ok interesting. Iss Ishwari ka kya kare? Why everything has to happen according to her wish? Break up for her and get back together for her. I hope these idiot two love birds doesn't fall in the manipulative Ishwari especially Dev. Can't trust this fellow. Few days ago he came to Sona to discuss his mom's wish and decided to marry someone even though reluctantly and now mom wants only Sona. Is he capable of taking any decisions for himself? Anyway why break my head now let's see what happens.

  27. Hi tia and co! finally caught up with krpkab and WADDA PUURFORMANCE! last month ki episode mein, according to sona- dev ne 7 saal k pyaar ki kami 7 din mein soha ko de diya...by winning a made up trophy given by insignificant ppl declaring him papa of the year...because as we all know winning sports day medals and taking their children to orphanages is the only responsibility of a father. who the hell cares about the small stuff like being there everyday and putting your child's responsibility over your own self-indulgent angst- thats for sissies like bijoy and jotin. similarly it took Dev 7 din of Khatri se khatra to get over his trust issues and insecurities and angst that had built up over the last 7 years and see sona for the good person she is. ofcourse her contributions to neha growing some life skills and ria not marrying that asshole didnt matter, nor the excellent upbringing of his sperm sample- he needed validation from khatri to see sona for what she has always been. lol. ofcourse that begs the question of why did he ever love her in the first place but since we are ignoring all sense, then why not this as well? sona toh apparently had no issues at all. she completely trusted dev (dont believe me? watch ep 301-2 ish), had full confidence in him as a dad and had no issues with his family or him calling her characterless machi consuming bengalan or any other insult under the sky- this ofcourse begs the question of why she'd then divorced him in the first place but whatever- we'll ignore this as we ignore everything else. and Ishwari toh was the fastest in the speed lane of realizations! 7 saal ka karwapan 7 ghante mein! wah bhai wah! kya speed hain! i used to say, this serial should get some sense of reality. its not that divorced couples never get back together. but its a longterm work in progress. the trust that takes 7 days to build, once broken, takes 7 years to repair. my parents got married just months after i was born, after being with each other for 4 years, stayed married for 3 years happily before the disappointments, distrust and miscommunications started to pile up, they divorced at the 5 year mark, my father met my brother almost 2 years later- it took my brother till he was in college to get over his abandonment issues and my parents 20 years (through hatred, jealousy, begrudging co-parenting, friendship, being each other's confidantes and support system through good times and bad) to get back together. Its a long process of constantly being there for each other in some form to re-instill confidence that it will be different this time. and even after getting back together you have to work every day to ensure each other and dress the old insecurities that resurface. It takes patience and understanding. Its not a decision that can be void of love and practicality. you need to possess both in infinite amounts for each other to go through this process. otherwise, it is absolutely bound to end quickly in blazing glory making old wounds worse. But clearly i was wrong, its the real humanbeings that need to learn from this serial how to get selective amnesia to fix a long bittered relationship over seconds. if this was the case, marriages would last much longer than divorces. anyways, clearly dev is incapable of introspection, thats why he needs ishwari to do it for him. it is a parent's responsibility to fix her grown ass son's phailaued raita.

    1. i have always maintained that it was a love story between sona and ishwari and left to their own devices, these two would do very well together. Dev with his own incapabilities ruins it all, because both women scatter to molly coddle him. sad really but so far ishwari's flash forward to redemption despite being the quickest is actually the most in depth. she actually is kind of awesome when she isnt ho ho ho-ing. her son remains useless and sona remains an idiot for still being confused as to whether she wants to raise soha and dev or if she wants to raise soha with dev. btw guys i was thinking of doing a little take of the last month on my blog, would you guys be interested in reading it?

    2. btw tia that story was so incredible! i completely agree, love isnt in the big ring and thousand bouquets proposals, its when ive worked till 1am on Friday night and i sleep past my 9am alarm on saturday, wake up at 12 and find my favourite breakfast at the table and my children in the park for sports day with their father, despite him having taken a 14 hour flight from mumbai to nyc the previous day. its that 4 hours extra sleep, then 4 hours of me time that he knows i need- without me asking or expecting.

    3. Hey Tej. Yes, sure. You can post your blog link here after you make your post. Remember, no rules here? Lol... And yes, that's exactly is my problem. Why would Sona marry Dev? If anything, Dev should get lost and let Sonakshi manage both families since that's all she wants. Now even Ishwari is defending and protecting Sona and actively making a genuine effort to include her in her life. What is Bhaiya doing? There is no difference between him and corner table, honestly. Both are there as show piece. I was shocked to see Bhaiya standing there as statue while some strange woman insulted mother of his daughter. His Mummy had to come and defend her. Seriously? And he expects Sona to marry him. I'd have said to him go eff yourself. I don't need more liabilities.

  28. God knows why even if I post it becomes invisible
Travelling to London with kiddo will miss the show waiting for Tia to update
@Tej very well written link to your blog please
    Sony tweets #bringbackdevakshi
    Twitterati mad for sharing
I'm watching for the lead s so at this point not giving any thot
There is no reality in the show now if Ishwari overcame her insecurity in a few hours over one family dinner.
    So why even bother
I only love Bijoy Bose and Sona
