Checkmate!!!

So the new spoiler is that Nisha breaks the engagement because Bhaiya was staring at Sonakshi while on his engagement to Nisha. Good for her!!!

So I thought I will write the screenplay here. I know this is not how CVs will show it. But I hope in real life this is how things work out. Enjoy!!!


The engagement is in full swing. Sonakshi comes there. Bhaiya is staring at her.

The Bhaiya squad is praying Sonakshi to humiliate Nisha's family by getting into a cat fight with Nisha over Bhaiya. But Sonakshi is silent.

The engagement ceremony begins. Bhaiya squad is panicking. Bijoy is happy though.

Bhaiya asks Nisha to dance. He keeps stealing glances at Sonakshi. Nisha notices it.

Sonakshi is sad but she always wanted Dev to be happy. So she stays silent.

Finally the dance ends. 

Soha and Golu dance hoping that Sonakshi will get jealous seeing them happy. But Sonakshi still doesn't say anything.

Finally the time comes for engagement.

Radha: Dev beta. Put engagement ring on Nisha.

Bhaiya is going to put the engagement ring on Nisha looking at Sonakshi. He misses her finger and in typical TV show fashion, the ring roles over to Sonakshi. She brings the ring back to Dev. 

Dev is now getting worried. 

But he has to do the engagement now. So he again tries to put the ring on Nisha.

Nisha says: Stop.

Bhaiya coming out of his daze: Sorry, what?

Nisha: What are you doing? 

Bhaiya confused: Getting engaged.

Nisha: To whom? 

Bhaiya stammers: You.

Nisha: Then why are you ogling your ex the whole time?

Bhaiya keeps stammering.

Nisha: Shut up. I asked both of you if you wanted to get back together. You both said no and lied to me. If you think that I will marry a jerk who stares at another woman over my shoulder, you are kidding yourself.

Then she turns to Sonakshi: And you. Do you even have a little shame? You are having eye sex with my fiance after you came to my wedding as a guest. Seriously, I have never met a classless woman like you.

Bhaiya finally remembers his voice: You can't talk to Sonakshi like that. I was the one who made this plan so that Sonakshi confesses her feelings. I didn't want to force her. I wanted her to come back to me with her own free will.

Nisha laughs: Say what? You didn't want to force her and that's why you tried to manipulate her to be jealous? It's like saying that I don't want to force you to do as I say. But I will just torture you if you don't do as I say. But it's your free will. That's not a frigging free will.

She turns to Sonakshi: A man who does not think twice before playing with two women for his agenda, a man who does not care whom he hurts as long as he gets his way, a man who drools over one woman while being with another - can't be a man I can respect or spend the rest of my life with. He is all yours. Enjoy!!!

Bhaiya squad is happy that Nisha herself backed off. They didn't have much faith in Bhaiya knowing how useless he is. But they hope now Sonakshi will pick up the leftover.

Nisha was about to leave when Sonakshi says: Please stop.

Nisha looks at her. 

Sonakshi: You are right. I was a fool.

Bhaiya: Sonakshi, what are you saying? Now you can have me. 

Sonakshi: But I don't want you. 

Asha: What? Are you crazy? You have to want him. He is your fairy tale.

Sonakshi: Yes Maa. He is my fairy tale. But he is not the hero of my story. I am. I am the author, director and producer of my own life story - my own fairy tale. Someone who decides to write my life story as per their version can't be my prince charming.

Elena: But Sona, you love him.

Sonakshi: I do. And this game of yours reminded me what I had lost - my innocence, my trust in human kindness, my belief in love, my faith in commitment. I was sad for that woman who once loved without fear, without worrying about the consequences. But today I realized that to truly love someone, you have to love yourself first. And I haven't loved myself for a very long time. 

Nisha, thank you for reminding me who Sonakshi was. She was not weak and pathetic pawn to be played with using her feelings. I became one today because I let it happen. People whom I trusted played with my feelings as if I am a toy with no emotions, someone who does not feel pain. I was the fool. But no longer.

Soha: Mumma, Papa loves you. Why are you not marrying him? You love him too.

Sona: Soha, just because Papa loves me, it does not mean I have to marry him whether I am ready or not. I may love him because he was my first love and the father of my child. But I don't trust or respect him. And love is not enough to spend whole life together. Without trust and respect, even love fades away. 

And if I don't make you understand this, you will grow up thinking that you should live your life as per what others want regardless of what you want. I want you to understand that if any man uses one woman against you, you shouldn't feel flattered. Instead you should wonder what it says about his character. You should walk away and refuse to hurt another person. So I will fulfill the duties of a mother and lead by example.

Bijoy smiles: I am proud of you, beta.

Sonakshi smiles: Thanks Baba. For a while I lost my way. But I got it now. I won't be anyone's pawn anymore.

Bhaiya is angry: He was always against us. He never wanted me in your life.

Sonakshi: Shut up. He liked you until you screwed it up. He can't give you endless chances when you failed every time.

Just because now your mother likes me, you are all over me. But where was your so-called love when she didn't like me? And where will it go if she doesn't like me again? Where was your love when did not even tried to find out if I lived or died? 

You haven't given my father any reason to like you. You played games with my emotions and never stood by me. Which father will like such a man for his daughter? I can't marry a man who plays games with me and can hurt me to get what he wants. I was stupid before. But Nisha has opened my eyes.

She turns to Nisha: And I am sorry for the hurt I have caused you. We were both played by Dev. He used your emotions to play with mine. 

Nisha smiles: I forgive you. You were deceived too. So you are as much of a victim as I was.

Sonakshi extends her hand to Nisha: Friends?

Nisha smiles: Friends.

Sonakshi: I know this great coffee shop. Wanna have a cup?

Nisha: OMG. I can kill for caffeine.

Sonakshi: Okay then. Let me call another friend and we can hang around. 

She calls Jatin and asks him to meet at the coffee shop. He agrees.

Sonakshi: Shall we?

Nisha: Yes. Let's go.

They leave hand in hand while everyone watches the rarest of rare moment when two women decided to be friends instead of choosing to hate each other because of a man.

One instance when Pati, Patni aur Woh turned into Friends against a player.
