Tia's Thread - Love vs. Liability!!!

Hi everyone,

Just a reminder that this Wednesday and Thursday I will not be able to open this post because I will be attending our summer event at work and I didn't find any volunteer to open them either.

I will try to do half update this Wednesday and complete it later in the night and I will write the Thursday's post over the weekend.

Our Indian mythology is filled with great stories with important lessons. One of them is Ramayana...


In Ramayana, Lord Ram asked Sita to give proof of her virtue by walking on fire. Not because he had any doubt on her, but to pacify other people or so he said.

She went through the fire and came out shining.

So he happily took her home with all honour and celebration.

Then again someone said something about Sita's character. Now he asked her to go to jungle. 

Only her, mind you. Not him. Never mind that when he was banished, she left her cushy life and went with him. 

In the jungle, she gave birth to their children. 

Eventually the children met their birth father who had abandoned his wife for others.

But people still had doubts. So Lord Rama, being the people pleaser he was asked if Sita could give another fire test, pretty please with cherry on top.

So Sita did what any woman with self-respect will do. She called up her mother, the Mother Earth and told her to take her home forever.

Ram cried buckets. But too little, too late.

But then Sita has some self-respect. 

Coming to Bhaiya. He is also sort of like Ram, but his issue is Love. 

He thinks that just because he makes the biggest noise and creates the biggest scene, his love is greater than all.

So unless Sonakshi creates the biggest scene and makes the loudest noise, it's perfectly okay for him to put her love to the test whenever he wants to.

For example, Sonakshi needs to prove her love by showing jealousy, flirting with another woman's fiance, breaking another woman's engagement, hopefully doing a cat fight with another woman, running behind a grown up man driving an auto, propose to him in the rain and still prove her love by letting him stalk her or besically run after him every time he feels he isn't getting enough attention and runs away.

Talk about lifelong liability in disguise of love. 




EPISODE: The episode starts with Ronita asking Sonakshi if everything is alright. Sonakshi shakes her head.

Bhaiya on the other hand is sitting on the couch and thinks: Today I am sitting here to be proved wrong. If you love me, you will definitely come here.

Me: Well, last time I checked Bhaiya, she screwed her fate with you again (despite my reservation). It's not as if she has left any options for her but to come back to your home. So I am sorry how you will be proved "wrong" by her coming there and will be proved "right" if she happens to stay at her parent's much more welcoming and peaceful presence?


Golu wants Bhaiya to play with them. Soha also says that he has to play with them.

Golu says if they don't get to go out, they will have fun at home.

Bhaiya scolds them: What is going on? Every ten seconds I am hearing the noise of your play time. Don't you have homework to do? I will come in ten minutes and check your homework. Okay?

The kids go away disappointed.

Bhaiya throws something and stares at the door.


Me: I can turn the statement for you as well, Bhaiya. What is this? Don't you have any work to do? I am hearing your whine every ten minutes. I will count to ten and you better stop your tantrums, okay?

Doesn't it fit rather well?


Ronita sweetly thanks Sonakshi for giving her so much of her time. She asks if she has to go somewhere.

Sonakshi says: Right now, I want to be by your side. Because pregnancy is a journey which you started. I remember when I was pregnant, no one was with me. But I promise, Dada, Baba, Maa, I - we will always be by your side.

Ronita hugs Sonakshi in happiness: Thank you so much, di. You know what? You are world's best sister-in-law.

Then nurse comes and calls Ronita in. Sonakshi gently takes Ronita inside.

Me: Now I got it why Sonakshi was feeling a little sad when she saw everyone was pampering Ronita. I was a little confused about that. 

When Sonakshi was pregnant, the family were going through financial crisis. So Saurabh and Bijoy must had been working hard to make a living and Asha must had been busy with every other house chores. So poor Sonakshi had to go through every appointment in her pregnancy alone. 

I hope next time she becomes pregnant (although with a lifelong spoiled brat like Bhaiya, she won't risk it if she has any sense), she gets full pampering from every member of both family and even Ronita returns the favour.


A courier guy comes to deliver something to Vicky. He tells him that he has a special delivery which he can only deliver to him.

He gives Vicky a phone.

Vicky is shocked to see that it's Thakkar.

Vicky is wondering why he is calling like that.

Thakkar says that Bhaiya fooled him. The software he gave to him was dummy.

Vicky can't believe it. He says that he himself took the software from Bhaiya's laptop.

Thakkar says that Dev must have got his doubts so he kept a dummy software in his laptop.

Vicky is shocked.

Thakkar threatens him that he wants the original software or else...

Vicky says that who is he to threaten him?

Thakkar says that he is someone who gave him Rs. 10 Crore. Either he has to return the money or he has to provide the software. Otherwise, he has just sent a trailer with the courier.

Vicky wonders what does he mean?

The courier guy takes the phone from him and slaps him hard. Vicky falls down.

Me: Ah, I felt so good to see Vicky get beaten up by Thakkar's goon. My heart is feeling happy happy today. 

Serves him right. 

Kab tak chupega kameena jhooth ki aad mein?

Kabhi to aayega bhindi bazaar mein.

(Those who dig a hole for others, fall in the hole themselves)


Sonakshi and Ronita come home.

Asha asks what did the doctor say?

Bijoy asks if everything is alright. Why are they quiet?

Sonakshi just walks to Saurabh and says: I know, Dada. You have struggled a lot. People taunted you, but you never gave up and for yourself you made a good life. Today, you are going to be a dad. 

She hugs Saurabh who has tears in his eyes.

Bijoy and Asha also get teary eyed.

Ronita says: Awww... Both grandparents became emotional? 

Sonakshi says to Saurabh: Don't cry like this. What will the baby think?

Ronita wipes Bijoy and Asha's tears: Don't cry like that.

Sonakshi jokes: How will an irresponsible man like Dada manage such a big responsibility?

Me: Just like your immature husband is managing, darling.


Bijay taunts: It's good that he is going to be a dad. He will get some intelligence.

Saurabh says: Baba, you always throw your comments every time you get a chance.

Sonakshi says: Dada, you will keep Ronita happy. If she is happy, then the baby will be happy. 

Then she tells Ronita: If Dada bothers you, then let me know. I will take care of him. And if I don't, then Soha definitely will.

Saurabh protests in mock fear: No no. Not Soha. You are enough.

Everyone laughs.

Saurabh hugs Sonakshi.

Me: Cute scene. Peaceful scene. No pressure, no demands, no jumping through hoops or bending over backwards... In short, normal happy family.


In the meanwhile, Bhaiya is working in laptop and is sulking while staring at the door.

Me: Although Bhaiya has his phone switched off. So even if Sonakshi has anything to share, he won't know.

But he certainly expects Sonakshi to send him information through mental telepathy.

After all, if lau doesn't yield magic, then what will?


At Bose house, Sonakshi is about to leave when Asha tells her: Sona, if you could have stayed, then it would have been nice. You could have ate something with us. I made Muri Ghanta.

Sonakshi says: Maa, I have to go. Dev must be waiting for me.

Bijoy says: So what? He knows naa that you are here. He will wait for you.

Sonakshi says: He has been waiting for a while. I should go.

Bijoy says: Arre, then he can't wait for one or two hours for you?

Asha says: Okay Sona, you go.

Sonakshi says bye.

Bijoy also waves her good bye.

Sonakshi leaves.

Bijoy asks Asha: What madness is this? I am telling her to stay. You are telling her to leave.

Asha says: You don't understand naa. Actually let it be. Men understand less.

Bijoy: I won't understand? Why won't I understand? I am a man, not a monkey.

Asha: Both are same thing, Bijoy. 

Bijoy is shocked. Asha walks away.

Me: Wow. Wow. I am shocked. No wait, in fact I am not shocked. This is exactly what I expect.

1. God forbid, if a married woman spends some extra time with her own family when they are celebrating a good news. It's a crime not be at your husband's beck and call when he is sulking. 

After all he has switched off the phone. So Lord and Master is angry. The slave better run.

2. However, the man not only expect to be with his family in every single celebration but also insists on being with his family at all times. After all, he is the loving son. He has hardly signed off his life and family the day he got married.

3. Of course, the woman's family also expects their daughter to jump the moment her master calls. If she doesn't jump at command, their upbringing is a gross failure.

4. If a man says, women won't understand something. There's no difference between a woman and a monkey's intelligence/comprehension skills, he is called a chauvinist pig.

If a woman says the same, then what should we call that woman? She is a such a great woman.

I don't hate Asha for no reason. She gave me plenty of reason to hate her.

5. But she is right. Bijoy won't get it. Why? Because he is a man who doesn't throw a snit if his wife doesn't jump through the hoops for him, he doesn't make her prove her love every time she insults him, let alone if she does something against his wishes. He doesn't sulk if his wife spends time with someone else.

So how will he, being who he is, get it? He won't.

In fact, even I don't get it. 

You call this love? I call this slavery if a woman dreads spending time with her family in fear of her husband's reaction. 

What if Bhaiya had run telling Ishwari that he has to go because Sonakshi is waiting for him. He doesn't have time to eat with her or celebrate with his family otherwise, his wife will throw a snit.

But guess what? This is a situation he will never face. Why? Because he is a man born in a patriarchal society.


Vicky is tensed. He says: Why did Dev bhai say in the morning as if he knows everything? He didn't even say anything. Not sure what's going on in his mind.

What if the dummy software was bugged? If that's the case, Thakkar will destroy me. What do I do now? What goes on Dev Dixit's head, only he knows.

There is something which I am not seeing. I can't even do anything sitting here like this. Think something. It's a do or die situation. What to do?


Me: Here's a suggestion, Vicky. First go to a brain surgeon. Then pay him to replace your existing brain with an elephant's brain. Then come back with good memory of past favours and good will plus better loyalty. Okay?



Golu says to Suhana: Why are you boring me, Suhana? We play everyday.

Soha says: No Golu, I am not in the mood. You play alone, please.

Golu says: Even if you want to play house, I will even play that with you please. 

Suhana says that she doesn't want to play.


Ishwari comes there. She says: Who is bothering my doll?

Golu says: Look Badi Dadi, Suhana isn't playing with me.

Ishwari says: Not playing? Why isn't she playing? You don't feel like playing?

Soha says: Dadi, husband and wife should talk to each other with love, no?

Ishwari says: Yes, but why are you saying this?

Soha says: I am showing it to you. 

She turns to Golu: Golu, you want to play with me naa? So we will first play the role of Mamma and Papa.

Golu is excited: Yes, it will be fun.

Mini Sonakshi aka Soha: Dev, I have a lot of thing to do at work. So I will be late.

Mini Bhaiya aka Golu: No problem, Sonakshi. You work as long as you want, I will manage house.

Ishwari laughs and caresses Golu and kisses him.

Soha says: But Mamma Papa aren't speaking like this, Dadi.

Ishwari is surprised: They aren't talking like this? Then how are they talking?

Mini Sonakshi aka Soha: Dev, I have a lot of thing to do at work. So I will be late.

Mini Bhaiya aka Golu: Then work from home, Sonakshi. What's the problem?

Mini Sonakshi aka Soha: Why don't you understand, Dev?


Mini Bhaiya aka Golu: You don't understand anything.

Soha then turns to Ishwari: Dadi, they talk like this. I think they are fighting.

Ishwari is surprised: No, beta. You don't know. 

Soha: No, I know, Dadi. I can see them clearly.

Golu laughs.

Soha asks why is he laughing?

Golu says: Then what can I do? You are so stupid.

Ishwari scolds Golu: Golu...

Golu says: But Dadi, if husband and wife fight then everything is okay. If they don't talk to each other, that means everything is not okay.

Soha says: But Dadi, is everything okay between Mamma Papa?

Ishwari is shocked.

Ishwari makes excuses: Arre, kids. You are so smart and asking your grandma? Husband and wife have these kind of tiffs.

Golu: Tiff means?

Ishwari says: Like you see on TV? Like cat and mouse show?

Golu: Like Tom and Jerry?

Ishwari says: Yes. Just like them, husband and wife are sometimes each other's best friends and sometimes they are each other's staunch enemy.

She hugs Soha and smiles at Golu. Golu also smiles.

Me: I can't believe this. Ishwari just made some bullshit excuse of husband and wife being like Tom and Jerry so that the kids think what they are seeing is normal. 

And these kids are probably the most unfortunate kids in the world.

Golu's normal is husband and wife at each other's throat like he has seen his parents.

Soha's normal was a supportive husband and wife from her experience with Bijoy and Asha. But today her normal is a husband who refuses to talk/listen/be considerate/be understanding to his wife while expecting all of the above from her.

*Slow clap* This is why I said, love is important in marriage. But compatibility is more important.

These kids will grow up with a twisted version of marriage as their new idea of a relationship.

I still don't know who did Bhaiya and Sonakshi's love benefit? No one if you ask me. 

They are happy one day, and unhappy next two weeks. 

Their children are getting a crash course in dysfunctional family and twisted idea of love and marriage.

The children are also being neglected and going the wrong way.

Then who did their relationship benefit except a socially acceptable status called marriage?


Bhaiya is still fuming when Sonakshi comes in.

She immediately starts with an explanation like all slaves do when they don't report on time to the Master: Dev, when you called me, I also tried to call you. But the call wasn't connecting. 

Bhaiya says: So what? You didn't even care naa. You didn't even think that I could be in trouble.

Sonakshi: I was with Ronita, Dev.

Bhaiya: Did I ask where were you?

Sonakshi: You didn't ask. But I didn't get any time to say anything either, Dev. Without asking anything, you raised so many questions on my integrity, my love, on my honesty. So many questions, Dev. You are testing my love? What do I have to prove to you? Tell me.

Bhaiya: I had to raise question, Sonakshi. You forced me to raise questions.

Sonakshi: No. Those are questions inside you, Dev. This is not fair to our relationship.

Bhaiya: Why? I have given so many tests for our relationship. I have done them in the past and will do them in future as well. Then why not you?

Sonakshi: Love doesn't need to be proved, Dev. It just is. And I never asked you to prove anything. I was calling you to tell you something. But no, that's not enough. I should come running to you to make you believe that I still love you.

Bhaiya: Nothing happened like that. Isn't it? Tell me? Because may be our love isn't equal. What I can do for you, you can't do for me. 

Me: Wow, I swear, Bhaiya sounds like typical selfish man who expects the whole world to revolve around him.

So today, his love is a business deal where he needs to make even profit. Great. I didn't know he made a deal before falling in love that Sonakshi has to provide equal and same quality love or the deal is invalid.

Well, Bhaiya. Sonakshi has left her family and came to live with your family. Can you do it? One week, and you were done. You never went back again.

Sonakshi is taking care of her business, your family, your tantrums all at once. What have you done?

Sonakshi took back a man who entered a hotel room with a strange woman and who has claimed to have past relationships with multiple woman while still being married. Can you take back her after watching the same scene and knowing the same facts?

So please, don't speak rubbish. What she can do for you silently, with all your shouts and claims, you can't do for her. 

You make big claims, but when it comes to delivering the action, you want the payment for service first.

By the way, Bhaiya, if she hadn't love you, there is literally zero motivation for any smart woman to tolerate a sample like you. You have no idea how much of a liability you are. It's like being responsible for a bratty toddler who will never grow up.



Sonakshi: Dev, there was a time, when I used to express my feelings freely. Then time changed and I had to grow up. Because I was a mother. I couldn't cry in front of Soha chanting your name naa? Who would have wiped her tears then?

Bhaiya: Don't bring Suhana between us.

Sonakshi: Suhana is in between us because we are her parents. She is a kid. We have no right to fight like kids like this. I still feel the same for you like I did before. But sometimes I have to hold back my emotions, Dev. But that doesn't mean that I don't feel for you.

Bhaiya: So that means that you will always hold back your emotions. Because you have changed. Are you taking revenge against me because you changed?

Me: What? Say what? Are you kidding me? If she had to take revenge against you, Bhaiya, all she had to do is spend a night with Jatin. You'd have killed yourself on that alone. Is this guy for real? He definitely needs a psychiatrist.


Sonakshi: I will hold back my emotions where I need to. I told you naa, I was with Ronita. If you had picked up your phone, then you would have known that she is pregnant and I took her to the doctor. Because I didn't want her to feel the gap that I felt. I wanted to give her so much love that I didn't get. And for that, if I have to hold back emotions then I will do it not once, but thousand times. Because I know you shut down your phone deliberately.

Bhaiya is shocked.

Sonakshi walks away.

Me: Seriously? Why are you shocked, Bhaiya? Did you think she is stupid? 

And didn't you yourself said how much she has changed over and over when you met her again? Now you are complaining that she has changed and you are unhappy that she didn't automatically turn into a 20 something Sonakshi the moment you turned into 20 something Dev? Are you kidding me?



Vicky comes home. Radha asks him why he came late the night before.

Vicky asks if Dev is here and if he was angry.

Radha asks why is he asking that. Did he create some other problem?

Vicky makes excuses.

Radha says Dev is here. He can talk himself.

Bhaiya walks in. He looks angry/upset.

Vicky is scared.

Bhaiya asks: Look at your face. You look like you haven't slept for days.

Vicky stammers out excuses that he was at a friend's party.

Bhaiya says: It looks as if you have stolen something from the party and ran away.

Vicky gets even more scared.

Me: Wow, he may not get his wife. But he definitely can read criminal minds by looking at faces.


Vicky says he has a lot of work.

Bhaiya says: That reminds me that I have to tell you something.

Radha says: Okay. You two talk, I will get you tea.

Radha leaves.

Vicky says: What is it?

Bhaiya says: You may have done a lot of mistakes. But I have always trusted you. So I want to tell you something. There isn't only data being stolen at work, there are also security breaches. And this is inside work.

Vicky is shocked that Bhaiya knows that. He stammers: What are you saying? Inside work?

Bhaiya says: Yes. It's good that I kept a dummy software in place of original one. He stole that one.

Vicky is worried: But why will an inside person do this?

Bhaiya says: Of course. Why won't he do this? If that thief sells this software in open market, then he will become billionaire overnight. So it's very important to keep this software safe. I want you to catch this thief as soon as possible. I agree that I don't share much about work with you. But I know that only you can catch this thief. Forget everything else and just catch this thief and bring him to me.

Bhaiya walks away.

Radha overhears and feels happy that Bhaiya trusts Vicky.

Me: Why do I have this feeling that Bhaiya already has doubt on Vicky and he just wants to catch him red-handed? The way he was watching Vicky, it seemed like so.


Elena tells Sonakshi: I think whatever you have done, was right. Dev bhai will at least think about this.

Just then Sonakshi gets a call from Asha who says that she doesn't want to talk to her.

Sonakshi is shocked: Huh? Then why did you call?

Asha: To say that I don't want to talk to you.

Sonakshi is wondering: What are you saying?

Asha says: Couldn't you come with Dev?

Sonakshi is surprised: Dev came there?

Asha says: Yes. He got the whole garden for Ronita in the morning. Such beautiful flowers. You should have seen them. Ronita and Saurabh are so happy. 

Sonakshi smiles to Elena. She signals to find out why Sonakshi is smiling huge.

Asha says: He was also a little angry why he got the news late. Otherwise he would have come to Ronita's appointment with you. He has said that he will come to Ronita's second appointment with you. I just kept looking at him, Sonakshi. I was thinking that only if he was there during your pregnancy. I wonder what he would have done. Totally crazy boy.

Sonakshi agrees: Totally crazy.

Elena asks what did Asha say.

Sonakshi says: Dev is totally unpredictable. He went to home with flowers for Dada and Ronita. Sometimes he does such things naa, which makes me angry. And then he does something cute, which takes away my anger.

Elena says: Dev bhai is like this. Totally crazy.

Sonakshi laughs.

Me: You know what, Sonakshi? This is why you are in this situation.

Let me see here,

What Bhaiya does: Spends a lot of money to buy Diwali gifts for in-laws, Brings a whole garden of bouquet to please expecting brother and sister-in-law.

What he doesn't do: Talk it out with you instead of ranting, listen to you, ask you questions on what you want and what he wants and try to find something you both can live with, behave like a matured adult with a wife who has more relationships than only a husband, be understanding and share his feelings.

Now, it all depends on which one of these are on your must have list and good to have list. If you ask me, Bhaiya is hitting all good to have lists and nor hitting a single must have list for a happy marriage.

You can live without the good to have list, but you can't live without must have list.


Vicky calls Thakkar and brags: You were wrong Thakkar. Dev Dixit doesn't doubt on me even worth a penny. In fact he has asked me to catch the thief. But what you did sending a courier. What do you think? You are the only buyer in the market? Now you just wait and see.

Thakkar tries to pacify Vicky by asking him to cool down and saying that the deal is still on.

But Vicky is in bragging mode. He says: You have no other option. Dev Dixit might be the king of business but there is only one man who can manipulate him and that is Vicky. Do you remember the news from seven years ago? Yes, that one. Dev Dixit got separated from his wife. Who did this? Me. When they fought, I took more advantage. I even made his wife believe that her family home was stolen by Dev when the poor guy was drunk and crying in the farm house. Yes, but his wife may have come back to him. But when she saw her family on the street, she broke her marriage.

Vicky turns and sees Sonakshi and Elena standing by the door. They heard everything.

Sonakshi is angry and Elena is shocked.

Sonakshi remembers the past.

Vicky stammers: You are here? No, what you heard wasn't true. I was just joking.

Sonakshi slaps Vicky.

Me: Great. You should have slapped when he talked to you with disrespect for the very first time. But you let him get away disrespecting you over and over again. And not only you paid the price for your so called Mahaan (saintly) attitude, but also Bhaiya, Soha and your entire family did. 

That's why one shouldn't tolerate wrong. When you tolerate wrong, you become an a part of that wrong.


Sonakshi holds her collar: You betrayed Dev and I so badly? You separated us from each other, I was his wife Vicky. 

She pushes him away and cries.

Vicky thinks: If I don't beg them to keep their mouth shut, then software plan will fail.

So he pretends to beg for forgiveness: Forgive me, Bhabhi. At that time I thought that whatever I am doing, I am doing it for you two. Your relationship had become hollow at that time. Everything was going wrong. Now see, after seven years, everything is fine, Bhabhi.

Sonakshi says: Don't call me Bhabhi. You are not worthy of calling me Bhabhi. And who are you to decide about Dev's life? You separated Dev and I? We were separated from each other for 7 years. Dev was separated from Soha for 7 years. Why did you do this? It was our life, okay?

Elena says: Vicky, I am ashamed to call you my husband. I didn't think you will fall so low.

Vicky pretends to be sorry: I made a mistake, Elena. I honestly didn't know what I was doing them.

Elena: Mistake? The reason why Sona was away from Dev bhai, you call that a mistake? How many times will you ask for forgiveness? And for how many mistakes? Tell me Vicky. Sona, you come with me. We will tell Dev bhai everything. He should know what Vicky had done. I want him to punish Vicky. The truth must come in front of everyone.

Vicky begs and pleads to punish him but not to tell Dev anything.

Elena says: You still want to hide the truth from Dev bhai? You could have learned at least something from this family. You should tell the truth yourself. He would have slapped you, punished you and forgiven you. You know why? Because he is Dev bhai and he has a big heart. But Vicky, I will never forgive you. The respect I had for you is over.

She tries to drag Sonakshi.

Vicky pleads but Elena drags her out.


Me: I felt so good today watching Vicky getting his due. I wish Sonakshi slapped a few more times. I just hope she doesn't turn Mother Teresa again thinking about Mamaji and Radha.

PRECAP: Sonakshi sees everyone in the garden is spending happy time along with Radha and Mamaji.

She wipes her tears and makes "U"-turn back inside.

Elena says: You have to tell Dev bhai everything. 

Bhaiya comes there, overhears that part and asks: What do you need to tell me, Elena?

Me: Predictable Mahaan atma, Sonakshi (great soul). Who would rather let her husband get betrayed again by hiding the truth about someone who didn't hesitate to insult her and backstab her family than tell the truth and let him decide if he can forgive the betrayer for the sake of his family.

I swear if Sonakshi keeps her mouth shut, then she will be equally responsible for Vicky stealing the software. Because her silence will give him the next opportunity just like before.
