Tia's Thread - Perspectives!!!

The upbringing we get, the environment we grow up in, the religion we follow (or don't follow), the society we live in - all of these creates our perspectives on how we view life and people around us.

Someone who has grown up with a certain perspectives, it's hard for them to relate to people who have different perspective in life.

What we need to remember is that our perspectives on things only applies to us. It doesn't apply to anyone else.

Even parents shouldn't impose their own perspectives on their children just like they shouldn't impose their perspectives on their parents.

Of course I am not speaking of anything criminal. I am speaking of lifestyle choices, choice of life partner, profession etc.

Parents do raise kids with a lot of love and care. But those children are not an extension to the parents. They are their own person. Their lives are different, choices are different because the environment they are growing up in is different.

In my opinion, it's futile to expect the kids to pay parents back by living their life as per the parents' command. In fact, in my opinion, it's also unfair. Because who gets a bonus life to live so that they can live this life as per their parents and the next one will be all theirs?

I am not saying that Ishwari is completely wrong. She grew up at a time when there were a lot of taboos on women. But considering she is breaking one of the taboos herself as a working woman, she has to also let Nikki make the right decision for her, not the right decision for Ishwari.

Because after all, what does a parent want more than a child's happiness? If they are with a life partner (or even single) but happy and living in a content, respectful and peaceful home, then what does it matter whether they have society's stamp of approval or not?

I had met a couple who had been living together happily for 20 years which is a lot more than some people last in a marriage. Then there are also the statistics of marriage lasting forever and live in situation didn't work out that long.

When a relationship breaks, it doesn't matter whether there was a marriage license or not. It hurts equally all around. The only difference is that it's easier to cut the ties in a live in relationship. But when two people don't want to be together, how good is a marriage license other than forcing them together?

It's not the relationship status that determines stable relationship. It's the people who are in the relationship who determines how strong or weak the relationship is.

I hope today Lakshya makes Ishwari understand this. After all, neither Bhaiya nor Neha's first marriage lasted for even an year, let alone two years like their relationship.

And I hope Ishwari keeps an open mind and listens.

EPISODE: The episode starts with Bhaiya trying to convince Ishwari.

He says that if they don't support Lakshya and Nikki now, the situation will get worse.

Ishwari says: So does it mean because of this fear, I ignore Nikki's mistakes?

Bhaiya says: No, Maa. I am not saying this. All I am saying is that right now we should not think about anything else except Nikki. Don't think about what will people say. We had our marriage like that naa, with proper rituals? Neha got married to Ranveer and Riya was going to be married to Ayan. Everything we did as per our specification but those relationships didn't survive. Why? Because there was no truth in those relationships. There was no love. But they have those in there relationship. I have seen it, Maa. They have a lot of understanding and love between them.

You had said that parents and kids' relationship never breaks. Then don't let this break either. You want naa that Nikki should come back here. If we don't accept her relationship, then she won't come back.

Ishwari thinks. But she walks away. Bhaiya is sad and worried.

Me: Bhaiya, bulls eye. You said exactly what I said. Rituals don't make a relationship, nor a piece of Govt. approved paper can keep two people together. Only the two people in the relationship can make or break them. If they have the strength to last, they will last regardless of piece of paper or rituals. If they don't have the strength to last, a month of constant wedding celebrations won't keep them together.

At Nikki's home, Nikki is crying.

Lakshya is telling her: I am thinking about the incident that happened today. I think you had all the answers.

Nikki asks: I had all the answers means what?

Lakshya says: I mean who is going to ask you what, what reaction they will have. You knew all these. You already had answers prepared in your head.  That's why even though your brother tried to stop you from going there, you still went. Do you know why?

Nikki says: Lakshya please. I don't need to hear your philosophical talks right now.

Lakshya says: Okay. It's fine. You sit. I will go.

Nikki stops him.

He sits back down. He says in a soothing tone: You are right. Your family is mad. When you were going to your home with me, he called you and said not to come. This is really rude. Your sister-in-law didn't say anything. She just stood there and didn't get into the conversation. And your mom... She pretends to be very cool and modern in office. Now that it's her daughter's matter, she has become everyone's father. She had neglected you...

Nikki gets angry: Stop it. Maa isn't wrong.

Then she notices Lakshya has a smile in his face.

She says: You were saying all these deliberately?

He holds Nikki's hand and says: Come...

Nikki says: My family isn't mad...

Lakshya says: They are a little bit. Just like everyone's family is. But when you were crying hugging your brother, there was love. I saw it.

Nikki says: Why are you saying this? You know naa...

Lakshya: Exactly. I know you and I know you love them very much. You miss them. And I think you should go back to them.

Nikki gets irritated: What? Are you mad? Don't say just anything. You are my family and this is my home.

Lakshya says: Not more than that home and not more than that family. You really love them Nikki.

Nikki thinks.

Me: Lakshya seems to me a very sorted and intelligent boy. He understands Nikki inside out and he only wants Nikki to be happy even if that happiness doesn't include him. I am liking this guy more and more everyday.

At Dixit house, Vicky is as usual on his ranting mode. But Radha is crying by the window.

Vicky: Family photo. Pffffttt... Got us dressed for no reason. Now Bua learned her lesson? She used to be so proud of her kids. We used to call little chilli, big chilli. Now our little chilli got us in a bind. Now whole life Bua and Dev bhai will have to tolerate it.

Elena gets up from the bed in anger and walks to Vicky. She says: Nikki is your sister too. Why are you making a joke out of this matter?

Vicky: Joke? I am making a joke? Mummy, make her understand...

Elena: What are you saying? We are also part of this family.

Vicky: Family? Just by carrying burden, someone doesn't become family. You just get hurt by this. And when burdens bump into one another, they just make noise. And this house is a burden and whoever lives here is dead weights. And there is only one captain of this house and that's Dev Dixit. You can kick out commentator, coach. But no one can do anything to him.

Me: Question to you, jerk. If you take out Dev Dixit, then what will you have left? No really. Tell me. What are you without Dev Dixit's company and wealth? Nothing. That's what. So think before you plan to take our Dev Dixit. Because those little chillies will be fine since big chilli is also rich on her own right. She will also take care of her new favourite person and her family. But you and your family? You will be outside Delhi gate selling cheap trinkets.

Elena: Shut up, Vicky. You can never support your family like Dev bhai.

Vicky gets mad: You shut up. No need to sing praises of Dev bhai. He isn't some great soul nor did some great deed. He is just a middle part of this house and everyone is circling him. This is not a home. This is Dev orbit.

Elena ignores him.

Vicky comes back: And no need to jump all over to support them. You will turn into dust. Because their the end is in my hands. Be careful.

Elena doesn't say anything nor Radha says anything.

Everyone is sad in both homes.

Me: You know Vicky makes me laugh these days. That idiot knows only how to spend money. He doesn't know how to make money. Even if Bhaiya hands over his entire wealth to him, he will blow them away in a matter of few years. Then what? Bhaiya will go and earn her wealth back while his rich wife takes care of the daily bills.

But Vicky would have already bitten off the hand that used to feed him and he will have no other option but to starve. Which of course he deserves.

Next morning, Bhaiya and Sona come down for breakfast.

Sonakshi comes forward: Maa, it's okay. I can serve.

Ishwari says: Everything is done. Sit. You eat too.

She walks away.

Sonakshi stares at her back but sits down.

Radha says: Sonakshi, let it be. I have already tried.

Sonakshi and Bhaiya sit down.

Ishwari serves Vicky. He whines: Bua, you gave me pumpkin. I don't want to eat it. You eat it.

He exchanges his plate with Elena.

Ishwari says: You have grown up, but your tantrum hasn't changed. Whatever everyone is eating, you eat too.

Bhaiya says: Wow, paratha is very tasty. You aren't packing your lunch today? Don't worry. We won't eat all of it. Take it for your colleagues too. They will like these as well.

Sonakshi says: Maa, you haven't wore your watch today. Isn't it working?

Bhaiya says: Yes, Sonakshi. Finish your breakfast fast. Then we will have to drop Maa to office. We will see Maa's office too.

Ishwari says: I am not going anywhere. I have resigned from my job.

Everyone is shocked.

She walks away.

Bhaiya runs after her: Maa, maa. Maa, I am talking to you. Talk to me. Talk to me about Nikki and Lakshya.

Ishwari: What is left there to talk about Nikki and Lakshya?

Bhaiya: Then talk to me about your office. How could you resign in one day? The work you used to do, because of which you even fought with me, how could you leave it like that?

Ishwari: What's the point of staying for the work I don't want to do?

Bhaiya: You didn't resign from your job. You resigned from being Nikki's mother.

Me: OMG... Today is Bhaiya's sixer days. He is hitting every ball out of the park. That's exactly the point.

Ishwari gets upset: Dev...

Bhaiya says: What else? You are saying that you don't accept Nikki and Lakshya's relationship by leaving this job, right?

Ishwari: You can't accept someone who never been apart from you. Nikki is my daughter, she is part of me and she will always remain the same.

Bhaiya: And Lakshya? Their relationship...

Ishwari: No. Whatever they have between them, don't call it relationship. Nikki is my child and this house will always wait for her. I will always wait for her.

Bhaiya: Okay Maa, you have decided. So I won't say anything. But before making any decision, see how she spent last two years. She had been living with Lakshya for last two years. Lakshya gave her everything - love, respect. Everything that I gave Sonakshi. Everything that Papa used to do for you. And you also like Lakshya naa? And now don't think in your mind that you used to like Lakshya in the past. Lakshya is a good boy and you know it. Give your daughter a chance. After that whatever you say, I will accept.

Ishwari thinks.

Me: Bhaiya, you are turning out to be a great defender and you are exactly speaking on point. It can't be denied that Lakshya kept Nikki happy for two years. Just any good husband keeps his wife. Then how is their relationship any less than any other married couple's relationship?

Now Ishwari will be forced to think.

At Nikki's home, Lakshya says that he will come home early because he doesn't have a lot of work to do.

Nikki says bye to him distractedly while watching tv.

Lakshya sees her distraction and turns off the tv.

Nikki asks: What are you doing?

Lakshya says: You are wasting electricity. If you aren't watching tv, then why do you have it turned on?

Nikki says: I am watching tv.

Lakshya: You are not watching tv. You are pretending to watch tv. If you don't want to stay, then tell me naa.

Nikki: I am not pretending and you don't give me lecture.

Lakshya: Okay. I won't. In fact I should have advised you to never live with your family. I never got love from my family. Then I saw you with your family and realised that you love your family a lot and they love you too. I think that you should talk to them at least once.

Nikki: You saw Maa's reaction naa. She walked away. She didn't even turn back even once.

Lakshya says: Yes. Sit here. I know she walked away and didn't even turn once. I will deduct her salary. Let the salary time come.

Nikki says: Shush. Shut up yaar.

Lakshya says: You please don't get mad. Fix your mood. How will we pack?

Nikki asks: Packing?

Lakshya: Landlord's daughter is coming in our home. We have to leave.

Nikki: Oh shit. I completely forgot. But she is not coming today.

Lakshya: Yes. She is coming day after tomorrow. We have lots of time.

Nikki is shocked: Day after tomorrow? Arre, how will everything happen so soon?

Lakshya: Everything will be fine. I am here naa?

Nikki says: We have really less time.

Lakshya: I am going to work. I will see you. Bye.

Nikki says: Listen. You are the boss. If you meet Maa, don't act like one. Okay?

Lakshya laughs and salutes: Yes boss. I am just boss in name. You are the real boss.

He says bye and leaves.

Me: I don't know about you guys. But honestly, I find their relationship absolutely adorable. They have a good balance and open communication in their relationship. Nikki doesn't try to do everything nor Lakshya does. They work as an equal team and deal with their problems together.

Their losing their home might be a blessing in disguise. May be they can stay with Dixits or Boses (if Ishwari objects). Lakshya will love Bose family. Poor guy only has Nikki.

Lakshya reaches work and sees a letter sitting on his desk which is Ishwari's resignation letter. He is shocked.

He looks at Ishwari's desk and thinks.

Ishwari is in front of her temple when Lakshya comes. He calls: Intern Aunty.

Ishwari is shocked.

Lakshya says: Don't be tensed. I have come today as your boss. I got your resignation letter and I brought the acceptance letter for your resignation.

Ishwari takes it.

She asks him to come in for politeness' sake.

Lakshya says: No, I am fine here. I accepted your decision. I just came here to say something. Do you know when you first came to my office and I saw you for the first time, I thought will she be able to work? Will she be able to accept my way of working? But you did a great job as an intern. You were enjoying your job. You wanted to learn something new. Why are you affecting your work because of personal things? Please don't stop working. That's all I have to say. Look, I think that you have that strength which separates you from others. Don't let it go to waste. Wherever you work and whoever works with you, will be very lucky. That's all I wanted to say to you. All the best for your future, Intern Au... Mrs. Ishwari Dixit.

He is about to leave when he says: I forgot to give you something.

He hands over a stack of envelopes.

Ishwari is shocked to see them.

Lakshya says: Final call is mine to make since it's my company. But my company is as much mine as my employees'. So I accepted your resignation, but everyone else rejected it. No one wants you to leave our company. They are missing you a lot.

He leaves leaving Ishwari shell shocked.

Me: Wow!!! Lakshya is impressing me day by day. He didn't put pressure on Ishwari nor he brought Nikki into the conversation.

He came as her boss and kept the conversation professional, encouraging, uplifting and thought provoking. Everyone should have a boss like this. He will be a great leader someday.

Golu is complaining to Elena: Why did the party end so soon? I wanted to play with Aru some more.

Elena says: Actually Riya bua had to leave with Aru. But we will call them again and have another big party. First homework...

Golu asks: But why Badi Dadi get upset?

Elena stammers.

But Vicky comes there and says: Arre, Golu. Was that a party? Who parties with such boring people? So don't think about party now.

Golu says: Mummy said that we will party again.

Vicky: Mummy said and you believed her? Forget about party. Nothing will happen. No one will come back.

Golu says: BigCha said that we will take a family picture. That's why I wore my favourite shirt.

Vicky: Okay. Let's take a selfie. Dad and son together.

Golu: No. I don't want this picture. I want that picture.

Vicky: Don't you get it Golu? Everyone left. No one will come back. That means there will be no family photo. Forget about it now.

Golu: You just wait and see Papa. If BigCha said that there will be a family photo, then there will be a family photo. What he says, he does. He is not like you.

Vicky calls after Golu but he runs away.

Vicky gets angry and stomps away.

Me: Golu is the most loyal person in Tripathy household. I wonder how so many disloyal people produced such loyal kid. He must have channelled Elena's family genes.

At Bose house, Dida is fighting over someone on the phone: Pom, you are saying as if we had a lot of fun in the wedding in your house.

Pom: But my Babai's wedding got completed. Your Bijoy's wedding wasn't complete because the rounds around the fire was incomplete.

Dida says: Humm... Nothing like that happened. You are telling me this to make me angry.

Pom: No, that's what happened. I am telling you.

Dida: Okay fine. Whatever it may be, I don't care.

Asha, Saurabh and Ronita see Dida coming down the stairs.

Bijoy gets a paper and sits down: It's great to read newspaper in leasure after so many days. I think my good times have arrived.

Asha: Hummm... Rest of the days people disturb you, naa. You are always stuck in newspaper. You don't pay attention to anything else.

Bijoy: Asha, do you have to speak in everything?

Asha: Yes.

Me: Very true.

Dida sits down and says: I should never have called Pom. She always ruins my mood.

Bijoy: Oh ho, Maa. I think you again fought with Promita mashi. But everytime you go and call her.

Dida says: Then what else can I do? I only have that one sister. I have to tolerate her.

Saurabh: You look so hot in anger.

Dida says: Saurabh...

Saurabh laughs: But tell us what did you fight about?

Dida says: She said that the wedding in her house was the best. And I said that Bijoy's wedding was the best.

Asha hides her smile.

Dida says: Did you know what else she said?

Asha asks: What did she say?

Dida says: She said that the rounds around the fire wasn't complete. Just six rounds happened not seven. So the wedding wasn't complete.

Asha is shocked.

Bijoy: Maa, whose words are you paying attention to?

Dida says: Pom can fight. But she never lies.

Ronita says: But Dadi, how can that be? No one paid attention?

Dida: Arre, during that time people were making so much noise so may be counting went wrong.

Asha is shocked: That means we didn't get married?

Bijoy says: Arre, nothing like that happened. What rubbish is this, Maa?

Asha: What do you mean nothing like this? One round didn't happen. What nonsense is this?

Bijoy: Asha, don't take it seriously.

Asha: Bijoy, we have to take all seven rounds completely.

Bijoy: What madness is this, Asha?

Asha looks at Dida: Maa?

Dida laughs: We call Hoogly river by its name. But it comes from the Ganges river, no? When you two are one in heart, what does it matter what's the name of your relationship? You two love each other. The talk ends there. Wedding, seven rounds are rituals. That doesn't matter in relationships.

Asha is still worried.

Me: Very well said, Dida. All it matters is if they are truly committed to this relationship. Nothing else matters. Rituals don't define relationships. Commitment does.

At the office, Sonakshi brings tea/coffee to Bhaiya.

Bhaiya thanks her.

Sonakshi says: It's not just me who brings coffee for her love in this office. There are a lot of people like me who aren't even married. They bring coffee for each other.

Bhaiya is confused: What are you saying?

Sonakshi says: I am trying to understand what difference does marriage make in our life. Us married people do exactly what unmarried people do. We care about each other, take care of each other. Then what difference does wedding make?

Bhaiya says: Okay. We make our relationship strong by getting married. We know that we have to be with each other for a lifetime. And that's why we don't take stupid decisions in a hurry.

Sonakshi nods: But seeing Nikki and Lakshya together, it seems that their relationship is very strong. And we also had taken stupid decisions after wedding, no?

Sonakshi smiles.

Bhaiya nods: Yes. And who knows it better than us.

Sonakshi says: I think wedding is just one day when all the rituals happen, a lot of food are there. That day, the girl is a queen and the guy is a king.

Bhaiya: That means wedding is just a party.

Sonakshi: There is celebration, no?

Me: She is speaking on point. In English, we have two words signifying two things.

Wedding and Marriage. What's the difference between the two?

Wedding is the celebration, the party.

Marriage is the joining of two lives.

Marriage is important, not the wedding.

In English, Marriage means joining. It doesn't mean a legal paper with Govt. approved relationship status.

Like marriage of two cultures, marriage of two religion, marriage of two communities... etc. So marriage means joining.

When two people decides to merge their lives together and agree to be committed to each other, it's also a marriage. Not a socially and Govt. approved one. But it is a marriage.

But in our language, we don't have separate words for wedding and marriage.

Bhaiya gets up from his chair: But, if we hadn't been married, then in spite of all these differences, would we have been together?

Sonakshi thinks: Hummm... Point. Actually wedding is not just between two people. It's also between two families. That's why through wedding both relationship and family grow. We got married, and that's why we had Soha. And Soha is the main reason why we got back together.

Me: I was with you until now Sonakshi, but this is where I don't agree. Is Soha really the reason you two are together? Then what you are saying is that two things are holding you two together.

1. That you were married and

2. The main reason is Soha.

But what if you didn't have Soha? There were no possibility of her existence. Would you still be with Bhaiya then?

If you won't, then Lakshya and Nikki's relationship is stronger than yours. Because the only reason they are together is because they love each other. Nothing and no one else is holding them together.

Bhaiya says: Actually, responsibilities grow after wedding. And relationships grow so those has to be maintained. That's why love gets a little divided after marriage.

Sonakshi says: You maintain relationships so love grows.

Bhaiya: So the conclusion to this decision is that this problem has no solution. Both has pros and cons.

Sonakshi: No. I am getting it somewhat. Wedding is like believing in God. Those who want to do, they do it. Those who don't want to do it, they don't.

Bhaiya is impressed.

Me: I am too. That's absolutely correct. To each its own. For some people marriage is the only way, for others, it's not. Just like no married couple want an unmarried couple to look at them and judge their relationship as being boring and unromantic, the same way no unmarried couple want a married couple look at them and judge their relationship as being wrong or a sin.

Every human being should live their life on their own terms.

PRECAP: Bhaiya in new half haircut is telling Sonakshi that Ishwari's phone isn't connecting. It's unreachable.

Sonakshi asks: Means?

Bhaiya says: Means that she is not at home.

Sonakshi says: That means...

Bhaiya says: Nikki's home?

Just then Ishwari arrives.

Bhaiya says: Maa.

Behind Ishwari, Nikki and Lakshya come in with their stuff.

Bhaiya and Sonakshi are surprised.

Me: First of all, let me just say, that hairstyle may suit Shaheer, but it doesn't go with the character Dev Dixit. The makers should have kept a wig for Bhaiya to wear like Erica wore in season one to match her character.

Erica is looking hot.

Now coming back to the topic, looks like Nikki and Lakshya are now in Dixit house.

I hope Ishwari doesn't start season one with Lakshya being the new Sonakshi.

NO RULES!!! YAY!!!

  4. I m kinda liking this whole Ishu Nikki Lakshya track. It shows difference of opinions but is handled in a mature way. No over the top drama by mamaji or anyone else. And really Lakshya seem to be a very matured boy unlike bhaiya(few months back). But now I guess they are giving some sensible dialogues to Dev also. Hope he again becomes like season 1 Dev

    1. I agree. Lakshya seems to me a younger version of Bhaiya in season one initial episodes. He is sorted, matured and sensitive. But the difference is that he never had a good family. Just like Bijoy could have taken the empty place of a father in Bhaiya's life, Ishwari can take the empty place of a mother in Lakshya's life. I hope Ishwari gives him a chance without prejudices.

Dev-Sona convo except the Soha part. Personally dont think a marriage shud survive bcoz of their child...its unfair to both.
    Dev-Ish convo.
Eri looked beautiful...finally a good dress.
Loved Lakshya a lot..he showed quite some maturity

Precap: Sona looked hot for sure...Dev..hmmm I still cant digest that Dev , the character has this haircut...doesnot go down well with his persona of THE DEV DIXIT.

    1. I agree. Other than that Soha part, everything else I could agree with. Loved Dev-Ishwari and Lakshya-Ishwari conversation. Both of them were well said and well executed. Both left Ishwari with food for thought.

Erica looked beautiful in a modern looking outfit finally.

But yes, Bhaiya's hairstyle might suit a young actor. But that is not the hairstyle of a CEO. Unless he is planning to hand over his company to Vicky like Sonakshi handed over her home to Radha.

Lakshya looks more of a CEO than Bhaiya frankly thanks to his hairstyle.
