Tia's Thread - Priorities!!!

These days episodes are very much saccharine sweet. But I don't have complaints because at least the story is moving forward.

However,  just so we all don't collectively get diabetes, may I suggest some spicy passion to jazz up the show? 

But just to be clear, by passion, I don't mean Sonakshi's passion to "fix" things or Ishwari's new found passion for independence. 

I mean passion as in intimacy between husband and wife.

On the day, Sonakshi expressed her desire to move back in with Bhaiya, she said and I quote, "Dev, I don't want to live apart from you even a single moment."

I can count on my one hand the no. of moments she has actually spent with Bhaiya since then.

So how about them scooting off to somewhere and do what comes naturally between husband and wife, huh?

Is that too much to ask for Sonakshi to live up to her claim that Bhaiya is her man, her partner and priorities?

Because she seems to have a lot of priorities, but actually spending time with Bhaiya comes first if you count from the bottom of the list.

On a completely different tangent, yesterday I had proof that my husband only pays attention when wifey goofs up.

What came out of my mouth was, "Nenshi said that Canadians should show Canadian spirit and do Canadian stuff".

Okay okay so I realised the ridiculous statement I actually blurted out. And I really tried to stop it in the middle. 

Usually I think them, but don't say them out aloud. But before my brain could catch up to my mouth two-thirds portion was already out. So, I decided to roll with it to not feel awkward at leaving the sentence incomplete.

I was hoping that like most of the time my husband will ignore my blabbering and he will let it pass as well. But nope. Trust him to pay attention when I am talking nonsense.


And what followed was him laughing and making fun of me all the way home. 

Gosh darn it!!!

EPISODE: The episode starts with Ishwari getting a call from Raman who tells her that Lakshya wants to meet her tomorrow. Ishwari agrees to be there, but gets worried. 

She turns and sees Bhaiya is standing there. Now she wonders if Bhaiya has heard anything. But he didn't.

He asks why is she looking worried. Ishwari denies being tensed. 

He asks if her new friend is on phone.

Ishwari thinks that she doesn't want to lie to Bhaiya. But if she tells him now then he won't let her work.

So she stammers.

Bhaiya asks her to invite her friend at home so that he can meet her too.

Ishwari makes excuses and runs to get his dinner.

Bhaiya is confused but he doesn't say anything.

Me: I hope Ishwari comes clean in front of Sonakshi first. Bhaiya is unpredictable.


At Bhaiya's room, Sonakshi is looking for something on the bed. 

Bhaiya comes there and sees her looking for something.

He asks what is going on.

Sonakshi says nothing. She is fine.

Bhaiya offers to help, but Sonakshi says she doesn't need help.

Bhaiya says: In spite of all this you will say that you're fine?

Sonakshi says: Means what?

Bhaiya says: I mean you are having so much hair fall. It's not normal. You can even go bald.

Sonakshi asks: How did you know?

Bhaiya says: What do you mean how I know? I am Dev, your husband. I find your hair everywhere - on pillows, on the bed, sometimes in my mouth.
Sonakshi sits by him: You saw it, you noticed it too. But never told me.

Bhaiya: I thought it was normal at first. Then you kept having more hair loss. So I thought I will collect them and then glue them on your head at night.

Sonakshi: Keep your Mr. Obhodro types ideas to yourself. And so much hair fall is not normal. When it will happen to you, you will know.

Bhaiya says: Hello. It can't happen to me.

Sonakshi: Yes, it won't happen. You are still increasing your paunch eating Maa's cooking.

Bhaiya gets self-conscious. He runs to the mirror: Paunch? Where is paunch? 

Sonakshi points out: Look, there...

Bhaiya: Where is the paunch? There's no paunch.

Sonakshi hides his smiles.

Me: I had watched High School Musical when I was in my early twenties. Those teenager had more romantic bones in their body than these two. 

Ab bas snakes and ladders hi khelne baaki hain bedroom mein.

Inse jyada romance to mere Nana Nani karte the.

(They are only left to play snakes and ladders in the bedroom. My grandparents were more romantic than them)


At Bose house, Bijoy comes charging to Asha who was sitting in the living room with Dida and Saurabh.

Bijoy: I read the whole book. Why do I feel this is not the right book?

Asha: Look, in my entire life, I only wrote one book. Why do you think this is not the same book? It's the same book.

Bijoy: Then why it has no mention of your neighbour, your boyfriend, your ex-lover? Because of whom I was reading this book.

Asha: Bijoy, I had no ex-lover in my life. Whoever I had is standing right in front of me. 

Bijoy: Don't lie, Asha.

Me: So my guess was right. Asha wanted Bijoy to read the book, that's why she invented that lover. Bijoy, you are just too straight and narrow



Saurabh says: Baba, you are feeling bad because Maa has no mention of her ex-lover in this book. That's why you wanted to read the book.

Bijoy: You shut up. You all asked me to read the book. And you all talked about the guy. And that day, the publisher said that too.

Asha: What did the publisher say? He said that I had a neighbour who used to be a peeping Tom and used to follow me. And later became my friend. That's it.

Bijoy: Then why didn't you say it to me before?

Saurabh starts laughing. Asha and Dida laugh too.

Bijoy asks why are they laughing? 

Dida says that because they all knew that there is no ex-lover in this book. Saurabh was just inciting him.

Bijoy to Saurabh: Don't you feel ashamed to make fun of your father?

Saurabh: Yes, I felt ashamed. But I had fun too.

Bijoy: You made fun of head of the family. Did you know how worried I was? And Asha, you too?

Asha: Arre, I was just happy thinking that I got to see your possessive side.

Bijoy: I am not possessive.

Dida: And you are also not head of the family. I am still alive. Got it?

Bijoy: You will pay for this joke. I will also write a book now and my girlfriends. Bijoy and his 101 girlfriends.

Saurabh hands him a pen.

Dida: Yes go. First show us by making a girlfriend.

Asha laughs. 

Bijoy stomps off.

Saurabh says: I am having fun thinking that Baba read the whole book.

Saurabh and Asha hi five. 

Me: Hummm... Don't be too sure of that. Bijoy Bose is adorable. Who knows some hot aunty might find him irresistible? He is so cute even at an old age.


At night, Bhaiya is saying: It's better to be paunchy husband than baldy wife.

Sonakshi gets mad and starts beating him with a pillow: Oh really? If you say that word one more time, I will show you if it's better to sleep in the bedroom or in the garden? 

Me: Pillow fight? What is this? Slumber party? Now what next? Painting each other's toe nails and braiding each other's gaye hair?


Bhaiya: Sorry sorry. I was joking.

Sonakshi stops beating him: You are not sorry. You just saying it to avoid sleeping in the garden. I know, if my hair falls off, you will leave me.

Me: PK ho ka, hain? Bhaiya and will leave you? He had golden opportunity last seven years, yet sang the same tune. Now that he finally got his copyright back on the music, he will hand it over to someone else? 


Bhaiya: Arre baba. I won't go anywhere. I will be fine with you even without hair.

Sonakshi makes faces and lies down. 

Bhaiya: What are you doing?

Sonakshi: Going to sleep. If I don't sleep well, my hair will fall more.

Bhaiya: That's the limit, man.

Me: Me too. Huh? Say what?

Sonakshi: There's no limit. Neither my hair will fall nor your paunch will come out. I don't want to be old so soon and neither I want to see you old. So I will take appointment first thing in the morning and you will resume your gym. Okay?

Bhaiya is baffled but nods as he always does.

Sonakshi: I don't know about you. But I had fallen in love with a handsome man, not a paunchy man. 

She lies down again.

Bhaiya whispers to himself: Paunchy?

Sonakshi says: Go to bed, Dev. Good night.

Bhaiya lies down and goes to sleep.

Me: One minute. Let me clarify something to Sonakshi here.

Sonakshi, it does not matter whether you "look" old or not. But you certainly behave like a 95 years old cranky woman whose one foot is in the grave. 

No really. Handsome aadmi ka aap karogi kya? Aachar dalogi? Kyunki aur kuch to aap daal nehin rahee ho. Namely chocolate sauce, Nutella etc etc. 

(What will you do with a handsome man? Will you pickle him up for future use? Because you are totally wasting him as of now by not utilizing chocolate sauce, Nutella etc etc)

To kya farq padta hain ki Bhaiya handsome hain ya Tinu Anand ki carbon copy? Aapka reaction to same to same hi hain.

(Who cares if Bhaiya is handsome or carbon copy of Tinu Anand? Your reaction is the same)


Next morning, Ishwari comes to work early tensed.

Raju sees her and asks why is she early?

Ishwari says that Lakshya asked her to come early today.

Raju says: He asked you to come earlier than others? That means firing will happen. Did you screw up?

Ishwari says: Yes, I messed up.

Raju says: Oh. Please sit here.

Ishwari sits worried.

Just then Lakshya comes.

He is drinking coffee. He sits down at his desk across from Ishwari.

Ishwari says: Last night, Ramanji called me. He says you want to meet me.

Lakshya smiles.

Ishwari notices three cups. She says: My goodness. Three cups of coffee...

Then she checks herself: I am sorry. Coffee is not good for health.

Lakshya says: Now what can I do? Yesterday what you did, I could not sleep all night. So coffees are...

Ishwari feel bad. She is about to say something when Lakshya asks her if she wants something. If not coffee, then tea?

Ishwari says no. She says: Look the mistake I made yesterday...

Lakshya interrupts her: Yes, because of that we got some calls from personal clients and also got emails.

Ishwari looks worried.

Lakshya smiles and says: They are all very happy. What have you done? They said that this invitation had personal touch which was not there before. You wrote all of them? 

Ishwari nods surprisingly.

Lakshya: They liked the language too. They are so happy I can't tell you. They can trust in this app now, invest in it. And all this was possible because of your old world touch in your letters. You have done a very good job.

Lakshya holds his hand to shake.

Ishwari is very happy. She shakes his hand and says thank you.

Lakshya gives her a pen: This is my favourite pen. You will use it from now on. Take it.

Ishwari takes it. 

Lakshya says: From now on, all the invitations that go from here won't leave without your approval, language and hand writing.

Ishwari says: Thank you very much. I thought you were going to fire me today...

Lakshya says: No no. Nothing of that sort will happen. You know that this office has a lot of young and enthusiastic people. But we lacked mature, sensible thinking which you got. So how could we let you go? NIL is really happy to have you, ma'am. 

Ishwari smiles. Lakshya shows her two thumbs up. 


Me: You know, in this show son-in-law and mother-in-law bonding is amazing. Asha and Dev get along like house on fire and now Lakshya and Ishwari are bonding. I am now almost 98% sure that Lakshya is a good guy. But knowing CVs, I am leaving 2% doubt in place.


Anyhoo, Nikki is going somewhere.

Bhaiya stops his car beside her.

Nikki asks if he is following her.

Bhaiya says that nothing like that. He saw her walking so thought to give her a lift.

Nikki says that she can go on her own.

Bhaiya: Don't be silly, Nikki. I am offering a lift. I am not kidnapping you.

Nikki says: Oh. So now you have started to do your types of things?

Bhaiya: What my type of things?

Nikki: I should be happy. The great Mr. Dixit is following me around himself. Now tell me whom you have appointed to follow Lakshya?

Bhaiya: You think I will do this?

Nikki: Not think, I am sure of it. Because I know you hate Lakshya. Neither you like him, nor you like that we are in a live in relationship. Tell me naa, Bhaiya.

Bhaiya: Okay fine. I don't like Lakshya. And neither do I like you being in a live in relationship. But that's not the reason.

Nikki: Then what?

Bhaiya: I have not told you before, but you know that you are my favourite. You love him and you are in a live-in relationship. Will that make me angry? Yes. I will get angry like I always do. Like when you showed me Shahrukh Khan's picture and said, Look, he is so cute. I got angry then too. That's my job. But I am not blind. You love him and in a committed relationship with him. I understand that. I understand that love makes you helpless. And you won't come back to me just because I said so. 

If we remove last past years, then you used to talk to me so much. You used to share everything with me. Now that you found someone to be with, you forgot your brother. 

Nikki feels sad. 

Bhaiya: It was such a big deal for you to fall in love. But you did not think to share it with your brother?

Nikki: If I had told you, then...

Bhaiya: What? I'd have got angry? Shouted at you? That's my job as a brother. And your job is to make me understand that you love Lakshya. You should make me realise that you love Lakshya and why he is right for you. If you had made me understand, then I would have understood that what kind of man he is.

Nikki: Bhaiya, now you know naa. I love him. I can live with him even if I am away from everyone else. But after realising this what will change? Will you start liking Lakshya? And Maa? Will you be able to tell her this? And Maa? She won't even understand this and nor she will accept us. Lakshya and I are together and very happy.

Bhaiya has no answer to that.

She leaves.


Me: Here both brother and sister showed the same escapist nature. 

Nikki, just because someone won't understand your relationship, it does not mean you are doing your relationship a favour by hiding it like a guilty secret. If you truly love Lakshya and you don't think that you are doing anything wrong, then stand with your held high and tell your mother the truth. At the most she will reject you. But at least you will know and can decide for yourself at that point.

You are right now hiding behind excuses because you think that you are going against your upbringing and doing something wrong. This devil may care attitude is a facade. So stop running and face the reality. You claim to be adult, then behave like one and take responsibility for your decision.

Bhaiya, why did you get stumped when Nikki asked if you will be able to tell your mother the truth? You should have told Nikki that it was not your truth to tell. It was hers to tell. You can support her, but you can't do her job. You should have told her to come with you and tell your mother herself. But as usual she dumped the responsibility on you and you can't do it. 

Why don't you ever speak sense when you need to? 


At NIL, Ishwari is listening to something on the headphones and writing a letter. Lakshya comes there and looks at her writing.

Ishwari notices him and gets up in a hurry. 
Lakshya gestures her to sit.

Ishwari says sorry for not noticing him sooner. She was listening to religious songs and was working. When she came to NIL, she saw all kids puts headphones on and work. Then she asked Raju and he said that it's good for concentration. So she thought she'd do it too. And she has realized that listening to one's favourite music helps with their work.

Lakshya says: That means you have learned something in this office.

Ishwari smiles and says: Yes.

Lakshya says: Then you will have to teach me something too.

Ishwari says: Me?

Lakshya says: You will have to teach me this handwriting. How do you write so well?

Ishwari laughs: No. I mean I will try. But I don't think it will work now.

Lakshya says: Why?

Ishwari: Because handwriting can only be improved in childhood. I also had very bad handwriting as a child. Then Maa gave me couple of slaps and I learned. There is no better teacher than a mother slap.

Lakshya says: You have experience of life. So no one can do this job better than you.

Ishwari eagerly says: I will do it. Tell me what to do?

Lakshya points at a desk: You have to make that desk special. 

Ishwari: Sure. Is someone special coming?

Lakshya says: Very special.

Ishwari agrees.

Lakshya asks her to continue her work and leaves.

Ishwari gets back to work.

Me: Oh dear. I think that's going to be Nikki's desk.


Someone called Saanchi who is pregnant comes to the office. Everyone asks her how she is and about her pregnancy.

Ishwari is decorating her desk (Not Nikki's desk like I thought). 

Shivani brings Saanchi to her desk.

Raman says that their new Intern Aunty has decorated everything.

Saanchi wonders about Ishwari. They introduce Ishwari to her. 

Ishwari says that she will take care of her.

Everyone leaves.

Ishwari carefully makes Saanchi sit and gives her hot water bag for her back.

Then she says that she will can her husband.

Saanchi is surprised: Husband?

Ishwari says: Lakshya.

Saanchi laughs and says that he is her boss just like he is Ishwari's boss.

Ishwari says the way Lakshya says that someone special was coming, she thought that she must be his wife.

Saanchi says that Lakshya is like that. He takes care of everyone like this. All these must be his idea.

Ishwari nods.

Saanchi says that he will now come out and pretend that he did nothing. She had been working with him for two years but she has never seen someone like him.

Ishwari gets impressed.

Me: Awww... Nikki's truth may not be as difficult to digest for Ishwari as they thought it would be. In a way it was good that she met Lakshya on her own without any preconceived notions. So she won't be able to deny his good nature just because he is in a live in relationship with Nikki like Bhaiya is doing. 

If Bhaiya had spent some time with Lakshya, he would probably like him more than Riya's husband. I think both being self-made men, they have more in common.


Ishwari shares her news with Asha. Asha tells her that she deserves it.

Ishwari is happy that because of her, her company had success. Something good happened because of her. Otherwise she had forgotten the pleasure of achieving something.

Asha says that she must be the first intern who achieved so much on the first day. Now no one can still stop her. She just needs to keep going.

Ishwari says that she hopes so too.

Asha asks when would she tell about this job to Bhaiya and Sonakshi.

Ishwari says very soon. But she fears that they might misunderstand him.

Me: You should tell it to Sonakshi first. Once she digests that, she can handle your unpredictable and stubborn son. Sonakshi is lot more predictable.


At Bose house, Saurabh comes down and sees Bijoy is practicing boxing in the living room. He asks why is he doing that.

Bijoy says: Because I love boxing. I was boxing champion in my time.

Saurabh says: That's fine. But why now?

Bijoy says: Some romeos are following Asha. I am warming up for them.

Saurabh laughs: But that was about the book naa. Now you know that Maa had no boyfriend. 

Bijoy: I am not talking about that.

Saurabh: Then what? 

Bijoy asks him to take off his boxing gloves. Then he gets his cell phone and says that people are following Asha on social media, liking her page and commenting on it.

Saurabh says: Baba, there is difference in following in tram and following in social media. Now Maa is public figure. So people will like her page and follow her.

Bijoy says: That's fine. They can follow and like her page. But look what are they commenting. "Very pretty", "Beautiful", "Very hot"... I will show them. I will beat them so hard. I won't spare anyone.

He puts on boxing gloves again.

Saurabh controls his laughter: Baba, you can just poke people in social media. You can't knock them out. "Pretty", "Beautiful", "Hot"...

Bijoy gets angry: I will beat them up going inside social media.

Saurabh runs away.

Me: This show won't last until we see how older Bhaiya will be. See Bijoy Bose to see older Dev Dixit. Just like Bijoy, he will dance to his wife's tunes and will forever think that his wife is the best thing since sliced bread. 

And just like Asha, Sonakshi will have time for everyone except her husband. Oh wait, that's now. Not 30 years in future.


Bhaiya is pacing in the room. Sonakshi says: So what did she say wrong? She is right. Besides she will hardly listen to us just because we said so. We will have to talk to Maa. Then only she will believe that we have accepted her. 

Bhaiya says: I know. She still thinks that we are her enemy.

Sonakshi says: But Dev, we should not wait too long. Before Maa finds out from someone else, we have to tell her.

Bhaiya: We have no other way left. We have to tell Maa. But how? What will we tell Maa? We will have to think of something. We have to tell her this carefully.

Me: One second. Sonakshi keeps lecturing everyone about responsibility and accountability. Why doesn't she tell Nikki that she should behave like an adult and if she doesn't think that she did anything wrong, she should tell Ishwari the truth? 

I mean, even if the worse happens and Ishwari rejects her, Nikki won't be in any different situation than she is now. 

Sonakshi and Bhaiya can support her and back her up. But they can't do her job. 

She kept telling Bhaiya to make the personal effort himself, then why not Nikki? 

Are all her lectures only limited to her husband and child like Asha because they are under her control?


In Ishwari's room, she is wondering how to tell about her job to Bhaiya and Sona.  
She talks to herself: Sonakshi will understand. But Dev? He will scold me and won't let me do this job. I want to say it, but don't know how to say it.

Me: Jab se Maiya ki man ki aankhen khuli, unko kya sab kuch sahi dikhta hain, nehin?

(Since Ishwari opened her mind's eye, she sees everything so clearly, no?)

And to think, I paid so much money for laser surgery.

Ishwari, Bhaiya is not your daddy. You are his mother. How will be stop you? So go ahead and come clean.

Just then Golu and Soha come. Golu asks: What has to be said and to whom Badi Dadi?

Soha asks: Won't you tell us, Dadi?

Ishwari smiles big, opens her arms for hugs and says: Come my children.

The kids run to her for hugs. 

Ishwari asks them how much do they love her?

They say lots. Ishwari says she also loves them a lot. Will they do something for her?

Golu says yes. He asks what do they have to do?

Ishwari says they will play a game where Soha will be Sonakshi and Golu will be Dev.

Then she will tell them something and Soha has to react like Sonakshi and Golu has to react like his Bigcha.

Soha says: Of course, Dadi.

Golu copies Bhaiya: Okay Maa. I will do as you say.

Ishwari says: Hawww... Naughty boy. So shall we start?

They nod.

Ishwari: Dev, Sonakshi. I didn't want to hide anything. But I could not understand how to say this.

Golu still mimicking Bhaiya: What are you saying, Maa?

Soha mimics Sonakshi: Maa, whatever you want to say, say it please.

Ishwari continues: Dev, Sonakshi. I want to do job again. I went for an interview somewhere. I got the job and I have been working there for a few days.

Soha is happy: Really? Wow, good job. That's cool.

Golu is angry: If you go for job, who will play with Soha and I? Everyone is busy here. You stay at home naa. Please...

Ishwari is dismayed.

Soha says: Golu... 

Golu gets up:I don't like this stupid game. My mood is off now. I am going.

Soha stops Golu: Golu wait. What is there to get mood off? Dadi wants to work. This is such a good thing. 

Golu: I don't know. I am a kid. I am not understanding anything so I am going.

Soha calls after him but he leaves. Soha goes after Golu.

Ishwari scratches her head: Dev will react exactly like Golu did. 

Me: Yep. I thought so and said it in my post when I saw how Soha and Golu reacted hearing about Ishwari's past job. Soha grew up with a healthy respect for work, independence and productivity thanks to Sonakshi and Bose house.

And Golu grew up with possessiveness of relationship thanks to Bhaiya who wants to keep all his loved ones right in front of his eyes, preferably tucked in his pocket. 

So Sonakshi and Bhaiya will definitely mimic Soha and Golu.


Then she gets happy: Arre, the kids gave me such a great idea. 

Here, Sonakshi tells Bhaiya that they will take Maa for dinner and talk to her.

Bhaiya says that Maa won't come because she doesn't eat outside food.

Sonakshi says that Ishwari met her at a restaurant. She has changed.

Bhaiya says that even if she agrees to come, how will she tell her there?

Just then Ishwari comes there: What do you want to tell me, Dev?

Bhaiya and Sonakshi gets worried.

Me: Sonakshi is right. Ishwari has changed. But Bhaiya has a point too. How will they tell this to Ishwari in a public place? They are better off telling them at home in their bedroom.

P.S. The door was as usual open. Why am I not surprised?

P.P.S. Sonakshi is finally wearing a decent outfit.



PRECAP: Ishwari tells Sonakshi that she had been doing a job for last two days.

Sonakshi is shocked but pleased': What? You had been working in a job for two days and didn't tell us?

Just then Bhaiya arrives and asks what's going on?

Sonakshi tells him that Ishwari was working for last two days.

Bhaiya looks at Ishwari as if she confessed of recreating past crimes.

Me: Bhaiya, you didn't even look at Maiya like that when you thought that she robbed a family and caused them to starve on the street. But now that she did actually something good, you are looking as if Sonakshi just profile matches Maiya with India's most wanted list. Seriously?
