The Fortress of Louisburg, Nova Scotia, Canada
One of the very few active fortress still existing in the world...
Very few people know the difference between the fort and fortress. I didn't know either until we went to Louisburg. Fort and Fortress both protect a city or town. But when the city or town is located outside, it's a fort. When the city or town in located inside the walls, it's a fortress. Golkonda in Hyderabad is a Fort. People lived outside. Louisburg was a fortress. The town was inside.
Louisburg is a working fortress, but no longer a living one. People make handicraft items there, Louisburg Rum is famous, they build boats, make their own flour and baked goods from them, they also dress up in period costume and serve French food from 17th century which doesn't had any root vegetables (like potato or carrots) because at that time French people thought they were poisonous since they grow underground. But no one any longer live there overnight.
Guess who? Yep, that's what my husband does when I am not looking...
Cabot Trail, Nova Scotia - one of the most beautiful trail in the world!!! No wonder Scots immigrated here and never left. I didn't want to leave either. Gorgeous winding road went around the mountain by the Atlantic. Lush green wavy valley and gorgeous view of Atlantic and romantic waterfalls makes it one of the most gorgeous road in the world.
Peggy's Cove, Nova Scotia - One of the most photographed place in the world!!! The only time it's tourist free is at 6 a.m. when we went... The sunrise over Atlantic was a sight I will never forget...
Little Fishing Village, Nova Scotia
This is a school. Can you believe it?
Gorgeous Nova Scotia...
Montmorency Falls, Quebec
