KRPKAB RELOADED!!!

Hello all,

Reporting from Edinburgh, Scotland severely jetlagged. So Kuch Rang Pyaar Ke Aise Bhi has ended. As promised, here's KRPKAB Reloaded. A show which was as realistic in the beginning as fresh dew in the morning and as absurd in the end as pigs taking flight.

However, the first 150 episodes of the show were television classics. I keep watching them on repeat even today.

I created this thread so that you guys can admire, appreciate, discuss, criticise or just generally talk about any scene/episode/characters you want to talk about.

I will start with mine...

My favourite scenes of this show (or any show for that matter) -

1. Every Bose house scene in season one before break up. I even liked Asha then.

2. Dev and Sonakshi's first meeting

3. Nikki and Sonakshi's bonding scenes

4. Dev getting sugarless cake for Asha on her birthday and for the first time experiencing Bose madhouse

5. Sonakshi's accident and Dev saving her life

6. Sonakshi and Dev's budding friendship

7. Dev's realisation of love (Best.Scene.EVER)

8. Dev's proposal to Sonakshi (Also, Best.Scene.EVER)

9. Their meetings in secret including gift giving and car driving (New name for Sonakshi - Miss Khargosh)

10. Pretty much all Dev and Sona scenes in Neha's wedding

11. Sonakshi showing Ishwari and Radha mirror post break-up when she came to pick up her anklet

12. Dev breaking down in pain when Sonakshi brought him home on her engagement day

13. Drunk Dev plus Drunk Bijoy = Best duo ever both in season one and in season two. Mussoorie ki madam.

14. Dev's accusation to Ishwari after pre-nup came out and he broke up with Sonakshi.

15. Dev meeting Soha for the first time

16. Dev saving Sonakshi from Earth Quake

17. Sonakshi saving Bhaiya from Vicky Baba's goons which no one except Radha ever knew that Vicky sent.

18. Any and all scenes with Jatin. Loved that character

19. Sonakshi putting Ishwari in place in front of Dev revealing her lies

20. Dev finding out that Soha is his daughter

21. Golu and Soha bonding and becoming friends

22. Ronita with Boses scenes (She is adorable)

23. Dev finding out about Ishwari's past

24. Dev eavesdropping on Sonakshi and Asha

25. Dev spilling out his guts in front of Sonakshi thanks to Radha's drug effect

26. Dev spying on Radha and Ishwari and relaying information to Sonakshi

27. Ishwari realising her mistakes

28. Ishwari and Sonakshi bonding

29. Sister reunion

30. Ishwari wants a career

31. Lakshya and Ishwari bonding

32. Nikki and Lakshya - modern couple goals

33. Vicky's truth out and he gets kicked out

34. Bhaiya finally being the best husband including cleaning up after his pregnant wife

35. Ishwari being the best mother and mother-in-law to both Bhaiya and Sonakshi, letting go every past prejudices. She is a mother for whom her children comes first over anything and everything and that includes Sonakshi.

My LEAST favourite scenes of this show (or any show for that matter) -

1. Any scenes with Ho Ho background score and/or Besan ka Halwa

2. Bhaiya breaking up with Sonakshi in impulse (first time)

3. Bhaiya not letting her move on even though he doesn't have the guts to claim her back

4. Dadi Bua track - HATED HER

5. Ishwari's behaviour post wedding (includes fainting and frequent emotional blackmail)

6. Any scenes with Radha and Vicky

7. Infertility track - I hated how callously they handled it

8. Dev's silence when it comes to his mother

9. Dev's slap to Bijoy and the actions before

10. Dev accusing Sonakshi of being a gold digger and taunting her womanhood.

11. Dev being a jerk post break up

12. Dev being a jerk even after finding out that it was his mother who was responsible for Suhaana being separated from him.

13. Dev trying to sneak out Soha without Sonakshi's permission

14. His stalking

15. His pointing finger at Sonakshi's character when it was him whose character should be questioned

16. His disrespectful behaviour to Bijoy while expecting respect for his mother

17. His disrespectful behaviour to Jatin who never treated him with anything but utmost respect.

18. Pretty much every Asha's scenes post Dev moving in Bose house

19. Dev and Ishwari's manipulation to get Sonakshi back and using innocent women for their purpose specially since he was never divorced. (That also gives me icky feeling about his girlfriends since that was adultery)

20. Asha and Soha's manipulation to force Sonakshi in Dev's life

21. Sonakshi suddenly running like crazy woman on the street to get Dev back. (Totally ridiculous and cringe worthy including dialogues)

22. Sonakshi's Ms. Fix it attitude

23. Sonakshi's "I know best, better than the rest" attitude inherited from Asha.

24. Dev's unpredictable and uncontrollable impulses

25. Bhaiya going behind Sonakshi's back and interfering in her business

26. Elena, the ungrateful woman/sister in season two

27. Vicky who got away scot free with huge load of money. All criminal expect to be rewarded this way

28. Radha who got forgiven automatically for no reason whatsoever

29. Soha's constant lies and manipulation

30. Soha and Vicky = Eyesore

31. Soha manipulating her parents for Vicky on her birthday while being fine with her mother's family walk away

32. Ishwari's grandson mania plus Asha's don't care attitude towards Sonakshi's health

33. Asha's constant disrespect to Bijoy

34. Asha refusing to take her pregnant daughter home because her mother-in-law may not like it. After all, now she is someone else's property.

35. The moochers - Vicky and Elena returned after finding out that they have zero capability to be successful because they lack dedication, desire to do any work and qualification to sustain their wealth. So they opened their old unlimited credit account by pretending to value family.

So this is my list.

Feel free to share yours down below.

Love,

  2. Thanks Tia for being here till the end. Didn't watch, show was dead to me long back so it really ending doesn't matter. But you has been here from the start, gave us "bashers" a safe place to discuss, even moved from IF cause of this show. We are bound by fandom mess now 😂😂😂😋 I really really hope you find a show you like and start reviewing again. Lots of love and enjoy your vacation.

    1. You are most welcome and thank you for sticking up with me. We are definitely now official outlaws of fandom. Lol. Rebel with a cause so to speak. I am hoping to find a good show when I come back. Send me some suggestions when you find one.

  3. Hi Tia,

I din feel the last episode was that much special for an iconic show.

Well I din like the dev ish scene. Was a bit repetitive for me. Supriya did keep the strings tight on the script and made sure she is highlighted. I don't have much respect for her for doing that.

The dev ish scenes have become overwhelming. Glorification of ish in any scene is not to my liking. I mean she has struggled a lot. But I can see only selfishness there. But from Dev's perspective she's Providence. Bit if u look at a 360 degree angle she is less than perfect. The true parent hero is actually bijoy. That's how a parent should be. Sonakshi, this constant goading on her typical bahu skills gets on my nerves. The Vicky realization was drastic and all that was typical Indian drama.

Sonakshi started of with great sass but then became another typical bahu. There is nothing great abt her.

Even with all her redemption u would never want Ishwari as a mother in law. She's too self centered and obsessive when it comes to love. I believe in sharing in love.

    1. I agree with you. The last episodes I felt was rushed and didn't do justice to the epic episodes in the beginning. Well, since they had very limited time, they wanted to tie up everyone even if that means choking out the emotions.

  4. Hi Tia!!!
I absolutely love your posts, I started reading them only in S2 and KRPKAB would remind me of your posts forever.

I'm yet to watch the last few episodes, I couldn't push myself to do it as I found it so ridiculous that they are being so careless about Sona's lfe (she herself included) and their behaviour with the drs.

My favouite characters in the show are Bijoy, Jatin and Lakshya. I like guys who are a bit cool. For a certain period of time I went back to watch the show only for them. I'm thinking of compiling all scenes of Lakshya separately, its a great character.

The characters which I consistently disliked the most are Asha, Neha. I dislike these characters as they aren't shown as bad and get justified for their actions unlike Vicky and Radha who are portrayed as real negative characters.

I despised the way this show dealt with the characters of children, misbehaving, disrespectful in the name of being cute, lying, cheating, getting things done their way with emotional blackmail.

    1. I forgot to mention something. How did Ishwari who's an illiterate become a tech-savvy at a jet speed!! I find this plot of the show mind-boggling as its so unrealistic.

    2. I totally agree with you. My favourite characters are also Bijoy, Jatin and Lakshya. I just adored these three exemplary gentlemen. They are protective but they are not destructive to others in name of family. They are also extremely loyal, loving and supportive.

Like you Asha is my least favourite character. And because Sonakshi showing all the traits of Asha, she became my least favourite character too.

Regarding pregnancy, I think the way they treated infertility and complications in pregnancy shoes women in very poor value. As if the only value they have is when they give birth (I mean let's face it, Bhaiya made no attempt to find out if Sonakshi is alive or dead until he found about Soha) and later in this pregnancy, despite them finding out that this baby could kill Sonakshi, after modest protest from Bhaiya, no one bothered to open their mouth and tell Sonakshi that they value her more than any baby despite three doctors warning the it's dangerous.

And Asha? Her reaction to that news was even more heartless. Let my daughter die in the process but if her owner (her in-laws) want her to breed, she will breed. I found that to be not only in bad taste but it was grossly insensitive.

Anyhoo, the show has ended. I will keep the great memories and wipe out the bad ones. As far as I am concerned, the show ended when Bhaiya and Sonakshi got married in season one.

    3. And yes, Ishwari's rapid character change and technical advances put Apple to shame.

  5. I think 1.5 yrs is enough run time for a show with so many flaws.

    1. I totally agree with that, given that it started out as a finite show the audience are lucky that it din't turn out to be an infinite show turning crappier by each episode.

      Delete
    2. Agreed. Sony only does finite shows well. As long as they keep it within the projected timeline, the story remains tight. The moment it crosses that timeline, the screenplay suffers.

    1. Ha ha. Let them waste their time if they want to. It's their prerogative. Shaheer is off to Indonesia and no one else is interested to restart the show. Only Erica showed total dedication to the show. She showed up everyday and did her job sincerely without unreasonable demands or other distractions.

      Delete
    2. Oh is he in Indonesia. Yeah only erica showed dedication minus the tantrums. The others were just their to make the screenplay about themselves.

      Delete
    3. Considering the fact that this was her first show, obviously the production house wouldn't give Erica as much importance as they would give Shaheer or Supriya and hence though the show was projected as a love story the script always revolved around the mother son duo. Even in the last episode they made sure their was one such conversation to remind us the essence of the show. Personally I always loved the Dev-Bijoy scenes more than the Dev-Ishwari ones—must be because their personalities are so similar.

    4. Yeah yesterday I watched the last episode yesterday. During ishwaris last monologue, except for shaheer the other cast including erica looked bored. I mean they were like phir se. It was good in the beginning, after that the mother son scenes got too overwhelming. And their relationship was very 70s for me. I din find the aww factor in it.

    5. No ... Until now he has not arrived in Indonesia. Yesterday there is a pic Shaheer was in office Beyond

    6. Well, the show has ended and I don't think it's gonna resume anytime soon. So I will stick to re-runs of the first 150 episodes. Those were my favourites.
