Tia's Thread: Mummy Knows Best!!!

Hello dearies,

As you all know I was going to be on vacation from Aug 23rd onward and Gauri was going to post during my absence.

However, since the show is ending on Aug 25th, Gauri will be updating the blog on Thursday, Aug 24th and Friday, Aug 25th, 2017. 

If you want to continue any discussion, I will open a page called "KRPKAB Reloaded" where you can share, admire, appreciate, criticise or just generally talk about any scene/episode/characters you want to talk about.

What will I do in this blog once the show ends you ask?

Well, since I will be travelling, I will write my travel diaries with pictures from my trip. If you guys are still interested, feel free to check them out.

As for my co-writers, feel free to write anything you feel like writing or sharing. If you want to talk about any new show, go ahead.

When Bhaiya and Sonakshi got back together, he only had one grief. That he couldn't be a part of Suhaana from beginning 'till end. His grief and guilt were so much that he flew all the way to Kolkata to relive those moments. He even gave Sonakshi's staff a day off so that he could play pregnant with Sonakshi at her work place. Sonakshi knew all that.

Sonakshi can't bring back past. But she could change the present and the future. But looks like, with wife like Sonakshi, he will forever be the last one to get invited to the party and always the guest at his own celebration!!! 

But Sonakshi knows best 'cause Asha trained her as wife who knows better than the rest. Jai ho Mahaan Atma!!!  (Hail, great women)



EPISODE: The episode starts with Ishwari praying in front of God: You gave me so much happiness. What else can I wish for? Just give Sonakshi courage. I couldn't be with Sonakshi last time, but this time, I will be with her all the way. Sonakshi is scared. She thinks that may be even before the baby is born, he will... Don't let her lose her courage, God. 

Soha and Golu come there. Soha is complaining: Golu, you bother me a lot.

Golu: Me? No...

Soha: You bother me a lot and you are very bad.

She complaints to Ishwari: Dadi, see Golu is saying the he won't let me tie the Rakhi first, he will let Arohi tie the Rakhi first.

Golu: She is also my sister, naa?

Soha: But I am elder, naa?

Golu teases her: So what? It's my wish... 

He makes faces to Soha.

Soha: Dadi, scold Golu naa.

Golu runs while Ishwari calls after him.

Soha says: Dadi, Golu bothers me a lot. I want a little brother. 

Me: There you go. Even Soha knows who can get her a baby brother. Nope, not her parents. Only her Dadi can grant her wish. After all, Ishwari is Goddess who can even make her daughter-in-law pregnant. Jai ho!!!

Golu wants to let Arohi tie the Rakhi first so Soha wants another brother. Just like when her father wasn't hovering over her showering his attention, she wanted Vicky and when Sonakshi was not jumping through hoops to please her, she wanted Bhaiya.

In short, every time she doesn't get the attention she wants, she wants someone new. Hopefully her husband will be the lapdog type, or she will want a new husband or a boyfriend.


Ishwari hugs Soha overwhelmed: May God grant your every wish. 

Then she makes her seat: Soha, don't get angry with Golu. He is just teasing you. Brothers are like this. They tease, make you cry, but they also protect their sisters. God gives His blessings in the form of brothers. If God will, then maybe along with Golu, you will...

She hugs Soha.

Me: I am surprised that Soha didn't modify her demand to a sister. Oh wait, she doesn't like competition for anyone's attention. What if a sister takes away attention from her? Better to have a brother instead since Goddess Ishwari wants a grandson.

If you think I am being too harsh on Soha, go blame CVs for showing her as a brat. I liked Soha better than Golu in the initial episodes of season two. For that matter, I also liked Sonakshi in the initial episodes of season two until CVs turned her into a hypocrite like Asha.


Ishwari is putting oil in Nikki's hair. 

Riya is complaining: Maa, you have spoiled Nikki. You don't let her do any of her work herself.

Nikki says: Why are you complaining? If you are worried so much, you come and do the work.

Riya calls Ishwari, but she is distracted. 

Sonakshi comes there. Riya smiles at her.

She notices that Ishwari is looking at Sonakshi weirdly and she is looking at Ishwari too. So, she says: What happened? Did something happen? Why are you two looking so lost?

Ishwari says: No, nothing happened. I was just thinking that tomorrow's preparation are not done yet.

Riya says: But how will they get done? When you waste your whole time oiling her hair?

Ishwari says: Shall I oil your hair too? Come.

Riya says: I know she is your favourite.

Ishwari says: It's not like that Riya. For me, you are all equal. I am just used to worrying for Nikki from before.

Riya complaints to Sonakshi: See? Didn't I say that she is her favourite?

Ishwari says: Listen to me first. Nikki was born in 7th month and she was born very weak. So weak that people were saying may be she won't survive. But I never gave up hope.

She looks at Sonakshi: I always thought that everything will be fine. God listens to a mother's request first. Everyone warned me. But I didn't listen to anyone. I just thought that God has given me this baby. So God will take care of her.

Me (Facepalming hard): So Ishwari, God listened to kids and mothers. The rest of the population obviously in the bottom picking order in God's hierarchy according to you. No wonder women without children don't get anyone to hear their pain. God is busy with kids and mother.

Oh and by the way, even after four kids you think God gave you a baby? Don't you think that's taking the immaculate conception concept a bit too far?


Nikki says: Mom, you are very sweet.

Ishwari kisses her forehead.

Sonakshi says: Don't you guys want to eat? Go, the food has been served for a while now. Go go.

Riya nods: I am very hungry. Come on, Nikki.

Nikki leaves with her.

Ishwari is about to get up when Sonakshi stops her: Where are you going? I want to talk to you.

Ishwari says: You kids can take your own decisions. There's no point in talking about it. 

Sonakshi says: No, Maa. It's not like that. I also want this baby. I didn't take any decision.

Ishwari is happy: I thought you... You won't do any such thing, naa? 

Sonakshi shakes her head.

Ishwari hugs her happily.

She wipes Sonakshi's tears: Don't cry. No more tears. Whatever you have thought is absolutely right. Now you just think how you will tell this to Dev. Did you think anything?

Sonakshi nods: I have thought of something.


Me: Emotional manipulation is back. Here's a few things I will have to say here.

First of all, this is why you should not tell these things to your mother-in-law before you tell your husband. What decision should be taken for a child, should only be decided by its parents. Not influenced by anyone else.

Secondly, Sonakshi doesn't want to get rid of the baby. She wants the baby. But even if the doctor recommends termination now for her or the baby's sake, she won't be able to do it thanks to Ishwari. 

Doctors don't suggest termination for fun specially when the mother wants the baby. They only suggest termination when there's a fatal risk to the mother of the possibility of the child being born with a birth defect which will impact their quality of life and dignity (like brain not being formed or missing limbs/body parts etc.). And no one takes these decisions lightly. But when you involve family members and they add their expectations and wishes, it's hard to take the right decisions for the baby and mother. That's why I wanted her to tell Bhaiya first even if Ishwari had guessed it right. 


At night, Sonakshi is standing in front of the mirror and Bhaiya is sitting on the bed doing his work probably.

Ishwari is peeking into their bedroom.

Me: No kidding. Seriously!!! I mean Bhaiya could want to kiss his wife or spend some time alone with her after getting the news. But nope. Maataji is the third wheel again. It was not enough that she found out first. Now she has to peek in their bedroom. 

Sonakshi nods at Ishwari. She nods back.

Sonakshi calls Bhaiya. But he responds distractedly.

So she walks over to Bhaiya and says: Dev, am I looking a bit...

Bhaiya looks up: Looking fat?

Sonakshi nods.

Bhaiya: What happened to you? You can't look fat ever.

Sonakshi and Ishwari look at each other disappointed.

Then Sonakshi tries again: Am I looking pregnant in this?

Bhaiya: Looks like you need glasses again. Where are you looking pregnant? Whatever...

Sonakshi and Ishwari look at each other again.

Ishwari is more disappointed than Sonakshi.

Me: Sorry, it looked like Ishwari got Sonakshi pregnant and she is breaking the news to her father-in-law to whom she can't say that she is pregnant in a more direct manner out of respect. 

Do you feel this weird or was it just me?


Anyhoo, Sonakshi and Bhaiya are playing Scrabble while Ishwari and Mamaji are watching them play and the kids are cheering for them.

Golu cheers for Bhaiya: Come on, BigCha. Come on.

Soha is cheering for Sonakshi.

Sonakshi makes the word baby.

Golu asks Bhaiya to make a big word.

Bhaiya says: We are losing because we are looking for big words. She is winning using many small words. 

Soha announces that Sonakshi won.

Bhaiya still don't get it.

Ishwari looks at Sonakshi and Sonakshi is looking at Ishwari.

Soha reads out the words which are all baby related.

But Bhaiya doesn't get it. He says: It's okay. She won only once. We will see her next time. Okay, you guys play. I have work to do.

He leaves.

Ishwari makes faces. 

Me: If I didn't know this news, I won't have got it either. Sorry, how difficult is it to say "I am pregnant" to the man who got you pregnant. And if you can't say it, then write it down or buy a baby t-shirt with "I am a little brother" written on it or something. Honestly!!!



Mamaji ushers the kids away for bed.

Sonakshi gets up and sits by Ishwari. They both start laughing.

Sonakshi: Your son is so stupid. He is not getting it.

Ishwari says: Not my son. Your husband is a moron. 

Sonakshi laugh.

Ishwari says: Until we tell Dev, we can't tell it to anyone else, naa?
Sonakshi says: Then fine. I will just say it directly to him.

Ishwari stops her: No. Since we waited for this long, let's wait for a bit more. You leave it to me. Tomorrow is Rakhi. I will do something.

Sonakshi: But what will you do?

Ishwari thinks.

Me: What??????? Are you frigging kidding me? This is not a news a mother should share with her son. This is a news which a wife shares with her husband. Since a husband and wife are involved in the process. Why the eff would Ishwari tell it to Bhaiya? I mean CVs have to insert Ishwari in everything. I can't believe this. 


At Vicky's house, Vicky is getting ready.

Golu comes there and says: Papa, you are looking very very smart. Like you used to look before fight.

Vicky laughs: There will be no fights now. And I will get ready like this everyday.

Elena calls Golu. She comes there with his food and asks him to eat.

Golu says that she wants to eat bread with jam, but Elena always feeds him bread with vegetables.

Elena tells him to eat what he is served.

Golu is still complaining.

Vicky says: Golu, you will be healthy if you eat this. At least eat one bread. 

Golu starts eating. 

Elena asks Vicky: Vicky, everything is happening so fast. You didn't tell me how you got such big investors?

Vicky says: Don't worry about that. You just understand that no one can stop me now. You just tell me how I am looking? 

Elena smiles and gives his ego a boost by calling him handsome.

Vicky is pleased. He says that their luck is now with them. Now I will prove that I can make it on my own. I have already started. Today is Rakhi. I will go in front of my sisters and prove what I can do. 

Me: How can he say that he is making on his own with a straight face is beyond me. Shameless people.


Vicky goes to Golu.

Elena thinks: But I know Vicky, how all these happened.

Me: So Elena has this much confidence in Vicky's capabilities? Well, as they say, no one knows a man better than his wife. Elena sees him for who he is. She just prefers to pretend otherwise.


Vicky tells Golu: You also go and get your sisters to tie your Rakhi. I will send the gifts. 

Golu says: You are talking like BigCha.

Me: Not only talk, sweety. The money he is bragging about is also BigCha's money and hard work. Pretty much everything about your dad is borrowed from your BigCha.


Ishwari is preparing for Rakhi. She calls Soha to show her something.

Soha comes running.

Ishwari shows her Rakhi: See, how is it?

Soha says: But I have already got Rakhi for Golu.

Ishwari says: It's not for Golu.

Soha asks: Then who is it for?

Ishwari smiles and says: You will find out soon. How is it?

Soha says: Very pretty. I will take it to show Golu and then come back.

Ishwari agrees.

Soha runs away with the Rakhi.

Sonakshi comes there: Maa, you had been working since morning. Now let it be. I will do this.

Ishwari makes her sit: No. You just have to sit and rest. If you don't do it, then...

Sonakshi says: Pull my ears and scold me.

Ishwari laughs: Yes.

Just then Aru and Riya comes.

Ishwari greets them happily but complaints that they are late.

Riya says sorry and says that it was not their fault. Mami had kidnapped them.

Just then Mami comes with Elena and Golu.

Ishwari and Sonakshi are pleasantly surprised.

Me: I am not. Bhaiya had made payments. So she showed up. The moment he stops the payment, she will again call Bhaiya an user who used Vicky. 

Funny how people can't see their own reality.

Ishwari says: Elena, I was thinking about you. 

Elena says: Buaji, I had to come today naa.

Me: Yep. Today Bhaiya shells out gifts to the sisters. So of course she wants her share.


Ishwari asks Radha where she took Riya. 

Radha says: I took her to see Vicky's office. He can't come here, so...

She tells Ishwari excitedly: Jiji, his office is very grand. I even took the picture of his office. Do you want to see?

She shows the pictures to Ishwari.

She says: It's very grand, Bhabhi.

Radha is happy.

Me: You know, I can't tolerate people who shows off with someone else's money. That includes children with rich parents who flaunt their parents' wealth without earning a penny and moocher relatives like Radha. So you can imagine how much my blood was burning seeing this scene.


Just then Bhaiya comes with Soha and greets Riya: You are finally here? You came so soon. Where were you?

Riya says: Don't ask Bhaiya. It's a long story.

She hugs Bhaiya.

Soha also greets Riya. 

Riya also greets her.

Golu says hi to Soha.

Soha says hi but notices many Rakhis on Golu's both wrists. 

She pouts and complaints to Ishwari: Dadi see, Golu has so many Rakhis tied on his wrist.

Ishwari says: No worries, beta. The best Rakhi is still to come.

Soha says: I won't tie Rakhi to Golu. He didn't listen to me.

Golu teases her: Don't tie Rakhi then. I have lots of Rakhi. All girls in my area have tied Rakhi to me.

Everyone laughs.

Bhaiya facepalms: Golu, you wasted all my efforts of all these years. What have you done?

Riya giggles.

Sonakshi says: He is not like you.

Bhaiya complaints: All girls in his area tied Rakhi to him.

Sonakshi says: He is the most decent boy. You are my favourite, okay Golu?

Golu says: No, you are my favourite.

Me: It's sweet to see Golu and Sonakshi's bond. I wish Elena and Vicky dumped him here like before. Frankly, they are just using Golu to keep the Bhaiya brand unlimited credit account open.


Ishwari ushers them for Rakhi. She tells Riya to get Nikki. She had send Neha before but she hasn't returned either.

Riya says: It's her favourite thing to do - to get ready.

She goes to get Nikki.

Nikki comes and says: Bhaiya, I took two how to get ready. So I will go first.

Riya says: Did we tell you to take two hours to get ready? 

Neha also says: Yes, did we force you?

Everyone laughs.

Mamaji says: The specialty of this festival is that it doesn't get complete until sisters fight between themselves to decide who should go first. 

Sonakshi says: Okay, you guys fight and decide, until then Maa, you go and tie the Rakhi to Mamaji.

Mamaji says: You are absolutely right. Come on, Kachori.

So Ishwari ties Rakhi first to Mamaji.

They both wish each other long life. 

Mamaji gives hot Kachori to his Kachori.


Then Neha, Riya and Nikki tie Rakhi to Bhaiya and they each gets gifts from him. 

Sonakshi starts to feel hot flushes.

Then Elena comes and ties Rakhi. She thinks about how she treated Bhaiya. 

Bhaiya says: I have no gift for you.

Elena says: No worries, Bhai. You already gave me such a huge gift. 

Bhaiya looks at Elena.

Me: Yep, and her gift to her useless, ungrateful husband just keeps on giving. She didn't come here for free. Her payments have been sent to her beforehand.

In comparison, his real sisters got much less.



Bhaiya says: Wait, I have gift for you.

He hands over a gift.

Me: I must say, even though Elena showed attitude that she will not return until Vicky returns, Bhaiya still predicted that she will come and got her a gift. Bhaiya, these people don't deserve your generosity. Keep them for your family.


Ishwari is using her pallu to fan Sonakshi despite her protests.

Mamaji says: Look, look. How Ishwari takes care of her daughter-in-law. It's not hot at all. But still she is blowing air in her.

Ishwari says: So what? My wish. My daughter-in-law.

Me: And her baby. Who Bhaiya?


Just then Bose family comes.

Mamaji greets them.

Sonakshi comes to them and asks Ronita how she is feeling.

She says she is good.

Then she asks Saurabh: Where's my gift?

Saurabh takes out a gift and gives it to her.

Bijoy says: This is nothing. He already gave you the biggest gift.
Sonakshi wonders which one.

Bijoy says: He stayed up all night and sorted out the legal matters of the company.

Sonakshi doesn't reveal anything. She hugs Saurabh and says: That's the best gift ever. 

Me: Bijoy is a fair man. He always wanted both of his children to pull their weights. Until now, Sonakshi was the only one who did everything for her family. So he used to praise her. When he thought that Saurabh did something for Sonakshi for a change, he praised him too. He is not gender conscience. He believes in praising where praise is due. He doesn't speak platitudes. I will miss this amazing character the most. He is not without a flaw, but he is one of the best character in this show other than Golu.


Mamaji tells her to tie the Rakhi to her brother.

Sonakshi is about to bend to tie the Rakhi.

Ishwari tells her to sit and tie the Rakhi.

Sonakshi sits down and completes the ritual.

Then Elena ties the Rakhi.

Ishwari keeps fussing around Sonakshi.

Sonakshi then asks kids to tie Rakhi.

Soha says: No, Mamma. I won't tie Rakhi to Golu.

Golu says: I don't want to either.

Bhaiya says: Arre, Golu. What are you doing? Everyone is insisting. Get Rakhi tied, naa.

Golu says: No one is insisting.

Bhaiya tells everyone: Come on, insist to him.

So everyone says: Please Golu.

Bhaiya also tickles him and tells him please.

Golu giggles and agrees.

So Soha ties the Rakhi and then Aru ties Rakhi.



Then Soha asks: Why did you give me this Rakhi, Dadi? Who should I tie this to? 

Ishwari says: I am telling you. You have to tie this Rakhi to your Mamma.

Soha asks: Why Mamma?

Bhaiya also wonders: Maa?

But Asha doesn't look shocked. In fact she looks smug as if she knows everything.

Me: Of course she does. She is Mrs. Know-it-all Bose senior, mother of Ms. Know-it-all Bose junior.


Ishwari asks Golu to move and makes Sonakshi sit down.

Soha ties the Rakhi to her.

Sonakshi looks at Asha who smiles huge.

After tying the Rakhi, Soha asks: But Dadi, why did I tie this Rakhi to Mamma?

Ishwari says: You didn't tie Rakhi to your Mamma. You tied Rakhi to your little brother who is inside your Mamma.

Bhaiya is shocked.

Everyone is happy.

Me: Welcome to your party, Bhaiya. You are the host and half of the reason of this party, yet you are made to be the guest in your own party. You found out with everyone else who has nothing to do with the reason of this celebration. 

I am really feeling pity for you.


PRECAP: Bhaiya and Sonakshi are standing in the garden with the rest of the family. 

Mamaji is saying: May be this house was waiting for this news for a long time.

Bijoy says: We should capture this happy moment in camera.

Everyone agrees. 

Nikki takes a selfie.

Sonakshi feels worried.

Ishwari notices that.

Me: Sonakshi should have announced this news in private along with the news of complications. So that they could have waited for the first semester to pass before sharing this news with others. But of course, what Ishwari says, goes.

Sonakshi literally learned absolutely nothing from the past.
