Happy 70th Independence Day to India!!!

Hello dearies,

As you all know I was going to be on vacation from Aug 23rd onward and Gauri was going to post during my absence.

However, since the show is ending on Aug 25th, Gauri will be updating the blog on Thursday, Aug 24th and Friday, Aug 25th, 2017. 

If you want to continue any discussion, I will open a page called "KRPKAB Reloaded" where you can share, admire, appreciate, criticise or just generally talk about any scene/episode/characters you want to talk about.

What will I do in this blog once the show ends you ask?

Well, since I will be travelling, I will write my travel diaries with pictures from my trip. If you guys are still interested, feel free to check them out.

As for my co-writers, feel free to write anything you feel like writing or sharing. If you want to talk about any new show, go ahead.

Today is the day when Sonakshi and Ishwari become parents again.

Oh wait, you mean Sonakshi and Bhaiya become parents again?

Sorry, I got confused since Sonakshi and Ishwari are announcing the news to everyone.

Kuch Rang Confused Rishton ke Aise Bhi!!!



EPISODE: The episode starts with Sonakshi coming down the stairs and sees Bhaiya and Soha standing there.

She asks: What are you doing here?

Bhaiya asks: That's what we came to ask you, what are you doing here?

Sonakshi: I came here to complete office work with Saurabh dada. But you should have been sleeping. You also have school tomorrow. Why did you bring her here?

Bhaiya stammers: Actually... umm uhhh

Soha steps in: Mamma, Papa didn't bring me here. I forced him to bring me here. Besides we could not sleep and my birthday isn't over yet. So Papa couldn't say no to me. Let's go out somewhere. I don't want to go home now.

Sonakshi: But where will we go now? Besides you have to go to school tomorrow.

Bhaiya: Sorry, Suhaana. But this time I have to agree with your mother.

Soha: Papa, I took your side and you...

Sonakshi: Dev...

Bhaiya realises he is in trouble. He starts stammering: I was just saying that everything will be closed now. Nothing will be open so where will we go?

Soha: Everything can't be closed. I know that you two go to some secret place at midnight and no one knows about that place. I want to see that place. Papa, let's go. 

Me: Notice how Soha's requests are all directed to Bhaiya? Kids know a soft touch when they see one. 

And Bhaiya, we all know, between the two of you who was eager to run after Sonakshi. But since Sonakshi instructed you to stay with Soha, you grabbed her with you. 


Sonakshi tries a last time: Soha...

Soha: Mamma, please. My birthday hasn't ended yet. Please.

Sonakshi: Okay, we will go. But this secret should remain between the three of us. So promise?

Soha: Pinky promise.

They leave with Soha.

Me: What is this birthday condition? I have never heard of it. Where does it say all demands of birthday boy/girl has to be fulfilled? Yes, I have heard that birthday boy/girl should be treated with lots of love, hugs and kisses and may be no scolding or strict discipline. But where does this "genie in the bottle" wish fulfilment clause come from?


Sonakshi says to Bhaiya when they reach coffee shop: Soha also found out our secret. See?

Bhaiya looks at the back and sees Soha is sleeping: She is asleep. What should we do now?

Sonakshi: Now we have come all this way, then we will drink coffee and Soha's Papa will carry Soha. Okay.

Bhaiya: Okay, as you say Miss Bose.

Sonakshi: It's Mrs. Dixit for you.

They get out of the car with Soha in Bhaiya's lap sleeping.

Bhaiya carefully sits on the bench. Sonakshi smiles seeing him.

Bhaiya asks: What? Why are you laughing? Are we looking funny?

Sonakshi shakes her head: You are looking cute.

Bhaiya smiles and orders two coffee.

The waiter brings coffee. Sonakshi smells the coffee, but feels weird.

Bhaiya asks: What happened?

Sonakshi says: No, I just don't feel like drinking coffee.

Bhaiya says: You felt like drinking coffee that's why we came here. 

He sips his coffee: The flavour of coffee is also fine. Then what happened?

Sonakshi says: Actually before you guys came, I was feeling uneasy.

Bhaiya: Then why didn't you say anything?

Sonakshi: Actually, I ate too much ice cream. Two tubs of it.

Bhaiya jokes: Two tubs? You are Nutritionist or what?

Sonakshi: Shut up.

She gets up to take the cup back when she feels dizzy.

Bhaiya gets worried: What happened, Sonakshi? Are you okay?

She says: I am fine. I got up suddenly. That's why.

Bhaiya: Be careful.

Sonakshi: Yes.

She hands over the cup to the waiter and thinks: Why did I eat so much ice cream? I don't know when was the last time when I had such cravings...

Then she remembers when she was in Kolkata pregnant with Soha.

Flashback:

Sonakshi is working on her laptop in Kolkata.

Bijoy and Asha are looking at her from the door.

Bijoy says: Asha, look. Sonakshi is not in good mood now. See how seriously she is working. She already ate three tubs of ice cream. This is the fourth. Should I give it to her?

Asha: At least she is eating something after so many days. Give her whatever she is asking for. 

Bijoy: Okay, if Sonakshi's broken heart gets fixed with this, I can even get her ice cream from Everest.

Asha laughs: You are too much.

Sonakshi looks up and sees them: Maa, Baba...

Bijoy comes running with ice cream: Sona beta, here's your favourite ice cream. This will definitely fix your mood.

Sonakshi: My mood didn't get fixed even after so much ice cream. Besides I am feeling a little uneasy and I am feeling... One second...

She runs to washroom...

Bijoy is worried: Sona...

Flashback ends.

Then Sonakshi thinks of the time when Bhaiya and her pretended that she was pregnant in her office and what Soha said about bringing Ronita's baby to Dixit house.

Sonakshi smiles to herself.

Me: There you go. She has learned to connect the dots too. Now don't go announcing the news before confirmation and one more complaint we can cross out.


Next morning, Asha is trying to wake up Saurabh.

Bijoy wonders: He completed all these work within one night?

He shouts at Saurabh: Saurabh, did you complete all these work yourself?

Saurabh says: You don't like me sleeping, do you? 

Bijoy: One minute. You first tell me if you completed all these work by yourself?

Saurabh is still complaining: First I got woken up at night from sleep, now he is asking if I worked all night.

Bijoy: And...

Asha stops him: What and and? He said that he worked all night on these. 

Bijoy: Okay then, all matters are solved.

He leaves.

Saurabh asks Asha: Maa, why didn't you...

Asha says: Oho, if Sona was here, she'd have done the same. You don't get credit for so many things. If you take credit for one thing, you won't get fat.

She tries to organise the files when she sees two empty tubs of ice cream. 

She says: Saurabh, I will give you a smack with credit. 

Saurabh: Why?

Asha: Why what? You ate two tubs of ice cream?

Saurabh: Oh hello Maa. I just ate one bowl. Sona had the rest.

Asha is puzzled: Sona ate this much ice cream on her own?

She also connects the dots and comes up with the right answer.

Me: The great mother India. Even before actual parents realises, her antenna is always working on the right channel. Jai ho!!! (Hail mother)


At dining table, Radha is all loving to Bhaiya: Dev, beta. Give me your plate.

Me (splattering pepsi everywhere): Haila!!! Yeh kab hua bey?

Didn't she turn from "Mera Dev Mahaan" to "Tu akela beimaan"?

Then when did she went back to "Bhaiya Puran" agan?

(Haila!!! When did that happen? Didn't she turn from "My Dev Great" to "Dev, the demon"? Now when did she went back to "Bhaiya Anthem" again?)


Mamaji asks: Radharani, why are you feeding pizza at breakfast?

Radha says: Our red got investors for his business.

Me: Oh. That's why both Mama and Mami are back to buttering Bhaiya. He gave business to Vicky. As I said, the quickest way to Mama and Mami's affection are money and autonomous power in any form. Bloody moochers. Why don't they go to their red now that he got a business? I guess Bhaiya still has more money than Vicky.

And looking at Bhaiya's expressions, it seems that the investors also came from his direction.

What Bhaiya? Why do you keep supplying landing pad to Vicky? Let him fall on his face so that he values the free cushion you had been supplying to him. 


Mamaji: What? How did that happen? I mean how did you know?

Radha: I called him late last night. Do you know, he has already secured big investors. I always knew that my Vicky isn't less than anyone. I am very excited today.

Me: Wait, let me pick myself off the floor first where I was rolling with laughter.

Bhaiya handed him a business which is already established (no struggles of a start up), I can bet you the investors also came from him because Vicky's track record is not very reliable which investors need and Radha is boasting of her red's capability. Good heavens.


Ishwari says: Your son has made you proud. Party is a must.

Mamaji always nods on everything Ishwari says so he agrees.

Radha asks Bhaiya: Dev beta, where is Sonakshi? I want to tell her this news too.

Bhaiya says: Mamiji, Sonakshi...

They look at the door and sees Sonakshi walking like a zombie.

Mami says: Sonakshi beta (Me: *SNORT*), come here fast. I want to tell you something.

Ishwari asks: Sonakshi, where did you go so early in the morning without having breakfast?

Sonakshi is still walking like as if in daze.

Bhaiya is puzzled. He walks to Sonakshi. Sonakshi bumps into him walking like a brainless moron.

She puts her palm on her tummy as if to protect her baby.

But Ishwari and her eagle eyes. Even though the table is behind Bhaiya who should be blocking her view of Sonakshi, she still sees Sonakshi's instinctive reaction and also connects the right dots.

Me: As I said, all mothers are Goddesses, doctors, genie in the bottle in KRPKAB land. Jai ho!!! (Hail, mother)


Bhaiya asks: What happened, Sonakshi? Why aren't you listening to anyone?

Sonakshi stammers: Actually, I wasn't feeling well since yesterday. So I went to see a doctor today.

Bhaiya gets worried: Why didn't you tell me? I could have come with you.

Sonakshi says: I am fine.

Ishwari asks: Sonakshi beta, if you weren't feeling well, why did you go without informing anyone to see a doctor alone?

Me: Inform? Be grateful that she at least now bothers to text that she is going. She didn't even bother to do that before.


Sonakshi says: No, Maa. I am fine.

Radha says: Beta, if you are fine, then come here. I am very happy today. Today I am throwing this party. My Vicky is becoming big businessman like you and Dev. 

Me: Sureee, he did.... Except, both Bhaiya and Sonakshi made their business success on ther own without family backing and cushioning their way. 


Radha is full on buttering mode: I ordered your favourite pineapple pizza for you. You like it naa. Come here.

Sonakshi says: Thanks. But I can't have anything right now.

Ishwari: Why? Did you eat anything?

Sonakshi: No, Maa.

Ishwari says: Then come here and eat something. Dev, make her eat. I will also make something for you.

She goes to kitchen.

Radha asks her to come.

Bhaiya takes her to the table.

Sonakshi sits down where Ishwari was sitting.

Radha lovingly serves her pizza. 

Sonakshi picks out the pineapples.

Ishwari notices that: Sonakshi isn't eating her favourite pineapples? 

Her light bulm goes up and she paces around the kitchen thinking.

Then she puts something in the wok and says aloud: Dev, I am making urad dal (some kind of lentils) for you. Take it with you when you leave.

Sonakshi says: But Maa, you have put lemon juice and methi (fenugreek) on the stove. Are you making Kadi?

Me: Kadi is a yoghurt based dish. One of my favourites. I like the Punjabi kind more than the Gujrati kind just in case anyone wants to pay me in kind for writing long updates here. I am open to bribery.


Ishwari pretends to forget: Oh yes, look I am getting old and starting to forget everything how to make Kadi. You come and tell me.

Sonakshi excuses herself and goes to the kitchen.


Ishwari asks: Tell me, tell me naa.

Sonakshi says: What happened, Maa?

Ishwari says: Why am I feeling that you want to tell me something. You do, don't you?

Sonakshi smiles and nods.

Ishwari guesses it right: You are going to make me a grandma again? Sonakshi...

She hugs Sonakshi in happiness.

Me: As I said, the parents got the good news. Now only the others need to know and that includes Bhaiya.

But correct me if I am wrong, shouldn't this news be shared between husband and wife first when the wife first suspects of her being pregnant so that the husband who missed out her entire first pregnancy, can be with her from the time she gets the confirmation to the time their baby is born? 

I don't know, what do I know? I thought parents come before grandparents start guessing.


Sonakshi: But how did you know?

Ishwari: A smart person recognises which sea shell holds pearl (or some philosophical crap like that). I am your mother. How could I not know? World's biggest happiness, again... I don't understand how to handle this. When Dev will find out, he will go mad.

Sonakshi stops her: No, Maa. I want to tell you something.


Again flashback (but more recent):

Sonakshi is standing in doctor's office: Why is doctor taking so long? I am feeling that I should have brought Dev with me.

Me: Ya think? Badi meherbani ki bachhe ka baap yaad aa gaya.

(By God's grace, you remembered the father of your child)

She starts walking and sees a full size mirror.

Me: After all, every clinic must have a full size mirror. What do you mean your clinic doesn't have one? You are so deprived. Ask them to borrow one from a garment store.


She puts a pillow on her tummy and says: Soha, see. Mama has got so fat.

The doctor comes out then and puts her arm on her shoulder: Dr. Bose.

Sonakshi gets embarrassed: Sorry. Ummm... Doctor, reports?

The doctor says: Congratulations, you are pregnant.

Sonakshi is very happy: Thank you, thank you so much.

The doctor says: I can understand. There is no happier news for any woman. But tell me one thing, why were you looking at the mirror?

Sonakshi: Actually, first time, there was no one to make fun of my round shape. Now I have someone.

Flashback ends.


Ishwari says: You are worried about gaining weight? I will see who makes fun of your shape. You think, Dev will make fun of you or even let anyone make fun of you? You scared me for a moment. Come, we will tell everyone...

Sonakshi: Maa, actually, that's not it.

Ishwari asks: Then what is it?


Again flashback (yep, today is the flashback day):

Sonakshi to the doctor: Actually, I didn't tell anyone about this pregnancy so you can tell me whatever you want to say about pregnancy.

The doctor says: There are a few complications in pregnancy. It's important that I discuss them with you.

Sonakshi says: Actually, there were complications even the first time. But delivery was normal.

The doctor says: But this time, there are more complications and it's important for your family to know this.

Flashback ends...

Me: Gosh, doctor. You understand that her family, specially her husband has the right to know about her pregnancy and its complications. But Sonakshi doesn't get it. How strange, no?

Ishwari asks: So what did the doctor say? Tell me?

Sonakshi says: Maa, the doctor said that first three months are very critical. Anything can happen.

Ishwari is sad: Anything means?

Sonakshi: Means for the child, the first three months are very critical...

Ishwari thinks.

Just then Nikki calls: Maa, come here.

Ishwari says: Nikki, I am coming. I am busy now. Wait.

She tells Sonakshi: Beta, for every child the first three months are crucial. You are not alone. We are with you. We will take care of you. You know in old days, so many kids used to be born. Everything will be all right.

Sonakshi says: Maa, you are right. But all these complications... I mean, the doctor told me that...

Ishwari: What did doctor say?

Sonakshi: That if there is any complications, then this pregnancy have to be...

Ishwari gets it that the doctor said that pregnancy has to be terminated.

Sonakshi says: Maa, I don't understand what to do. I am very scared.

Me: First, tell Bhaiya. If you are pregnant, he has a right to know. If you are having complications, he has the right to know. If you might end up losing the bay, he still has the right to know. 

Ishwari comes later. Bhaiya needs to know first.

Even if you are scared, Bhaiya has the right to be scared with you. Come on, Sonakshi. Did you not learn absolutely anything? Seriously?


Ishwari consoles her: Sonakshi, don't loose your courage. Don't be scared. These days doctors say all these so that we take care of ourselves. This doctor isn't right. We will take you to the best doctor. You know, Dev. He will take you to the best doctor. You don't worry.

Sonakshi: Maa, you are right. But it's not that. If there was a treatment like that, I'd have known. But it's not about doctor or hospitals. Maa, the doctor I went to and she told me that...

Ishwari is worried: What did she say?

Me: She said that get your daughter-in-law a brain surgery first so that the newborn child isn't born in facepalm position like I seems to have when I see her. Idiots!!!


Just then Radha comes hopping: Jiji, you are here? I want to show you something. Vicky has sent picture of his office. I want to show them to you. Come with me. 

Ishwari: You go, I will come in two minutes.

Radha says: You in-laws can talk later. You are here. You come with me. 

She drags Ishwari out.

Sonakshi thinks.

Me: Now go and tell Bhaiya so that he can be with you. But of course, if you share information, how will you be Asha Bose's daughter, Dr. Sonakshi I-know-better-than-the-rest Bose?



PRECAP: Soha asks Ishwari why she gave her the Rakhi?

Ishwari asks her to tie it to her mother.

Bhaiya is puzzled because he is still in the dark. Poor soul.

Soha ties the Rakhi to her mother and asks her Dadi why she tied it to her mother.

Ishwari says that it's for the brother who is inside her mother.

Everyone is happy.

Me: Since Maiya decreed, it gotta be a boy. Even God can't change her decree. But poor Bhaiya got to know with the rest of the family. Such is his luck.
