Tia's Thread - The Return of the Freeloaders!!!

Hello dearies,

As you all know I was going to be on vacation from Aug 23rd onward and Gauri was going to post during my absence.

However, since the show is ending on Aug 25th, Gauri will be updating the blog on Thursday, Aug 24th and Friday, Aug 25th, 2017. If the show continues, then Gauri will post until I return on Sep 9, 2017.

If you want to continue any discussion, I will open a page called "KRPKAB Reloaded" where you can share, admire, appreciate, criticise or just generally talk about any scene/episode/characters you want to talk about.

What will I do in this blog once the show ends you ask?

Well, since I will be travelling, I will write my travel diaries with pictures from my trip. If you guys are still interested, feel free to check them out.

As for my co-writers, feel free to write anything you feel like writing or sharing. If you want to talk about any new show, go ahead.

The title says it all. 

Today, thanks to Soha, the spoiled brat, her parents' biggest enemy and his hanger on return to her house to ruin her parents' life.

That's why I had said that one should not let children dictate adult decisions. 

I objected when Soha pulled the strings to get Bhaiya and Sonakshi together. I am objecting now as well when she did the same to get Vicky and Elena home. 

Now they decided to be parents again without actually being any sort of decent parent to Soha first. A good parent correct their children's mistakes and discipline them when they are wrong. They don't indulge them in their mistakes nor they dance to their children's tunes.

If tomorrow she uses the same threats to ask Bhaiya and Sonakshi to get rid of her little sibling because she is not willing to share the attention of her parents, what will they do? How long and how far will they dance to a little girl's tunes?

Where is the end to this manipulation?


EPISODE: The episode starts with Vicky plotting in the driving seat of a car: You threw me out of the house, Dev Dixit. I will kick you out of your daughter's life. Even my son cares for you more than me. Now wait and watch, you won't be even able to celebrate your daughter's birthday.

He gets out of the car and swaggers into the party.

Me: Wait a minute. If he is in the driving seat of a car, then that means he can afford a car with restaurant manager's salary. He can't be too poor if he can afford a car, can he? The way Mami and Elena were behaving as if he was starving on the street. I guess they got too used to luxury so that car wasn't big enough to suit their taste. Bloody moochers.

I am gritting my teeth watching Vicky swaggering into the party all because of Soha, the manipulator. My dentist is going to be very happy.


Golu comes running to Vicky.

Vicky greets him.

Golu says: Come fast so that we can get Soha to cut the cake.

Vicky says: Let's go.

Golu says: One minute, Papa. 

Vicky says: What?

Golu says: Wear this birthday hat.

Vicky denies.

Golu says: Everyone has to wear it or BigChi will scold me. She said that this is my duty.

Vicky let's Golu put the birthday hat on him.

Vicky walks in thinking: Sorry, Dev. The cake will be cut. But you won't be there.

He walks in where the kids are chanting for Soha to cut the cake.

He calls Soha's name.

Radha gets happy seeing him.

Soha hugs him: Yay, Vicky Chachu.

Vicky wishes Soha happy birthday.

Soha says: How did you get so late? Papa has come back a while ago. There he is.

Vicky is shocked to see Bhaiya and Sonakshi walking in hand in hand.

Me: Wait, let me think what happened. So if I have to guess, Vicky went out another way thinking Bhaiya is still waiting for him. But Bhaiya had already left so he reached early. Does it seem right?

But isn't it funny that Vicky is so confident in Soha's disloyal nature that he believes that Soha will cut the cake even if Bhaiya is not there. 


Bhaiya and Sonakshi look at Vicky smugly.

Suhana asks: What happened, Vicky Chachu? Aren't you happy to be here?

Bhaiya mocks: Yes, what happened Vicky Chachu? You are looking very upset?

Vicky is still shocked.

Sonakshi says: I am glad you came Vicky. When Dev came alone, I thought you declined to come. But then Dev said that you are coming because you love Soha a lot. Now come on, we have to cut the cake, don't we or do you have some other plan?

Me: Finally!!! Sonakshi got her brain back. So happy!!! I hope this time her brain came with one way ticket.


Vicky pretends: What plan could I have, Bhabhi?

Sonakshi smirks.

Soha drags Vicky and then comes to the cake.

Ishwari asks: What happened, Soha? Now your Vicky Chachu is also here.

Radha is all toothy smiles.

Soha says: I know, Dadi. Shall I say something? 

Ishwari says yes.

Soha: I am the luckiest girl in the world, Dadi. A lot my wishes came true, not just one. 

She says to Bhaiya: I am sorry, Papa. I was angry at you. But you still kept such a big party for me and brought Vicky Chachu with you. Papa, can I say something to you?

Bhaiya is all smiles. He says yes.

Soha: This birthday is the luckiest for me because you two are with me.

Bhaiya and Sonakshi smile at each other.

Vicky is upset.

Me: Soha, you forgot darling. They were in your birthday the whole day. But you didn't give a damn about them. Your birthday is the best because your best friend, best chachu, best person Vicky Chachu was with you. So much so that you didn't want to cut the cake without him, but you are fine letting your grandparents and uncle and aunt leave without cutting the cake.

Sorry, now no matter what Soha says, the stink of manipulation is not leaving my nose.



Soha says: Mamma Papa, I have another wish.

Bhaiya says: One more wish? What now?

Me: Poor Bhaiya is scared to hear more wishes. I think he has been manipulated enough.

Soha: You have to cut cake with me.

Everyone smiles.

Bhaiya and Sonakshi cut cake with Suhana.

Everyone sings Happy Birthday.

Ishwari blesses her.

Sonakshi says: Now feed cake to Vicky Chachu as well. He has to go out of town for work for a few days.

Soha says: Vicky Chachu, why do you have to go so soon?

Vicky stammers: No, beta. I have work to do. I have to leave.

He storms off the venue 

Me: Good riddance.


Bhaiya stops him: Vicky, you are always in a hurry to leave naa? That's why you left me outside your home.

Flashback: 

Sonakshi called him and asked: Dev: Where are you? I had been calling you for so long.

Bhaiya: Sonakshi, listen to me carefully. Do you love me?

Sonakshi: More than anything.

Bhaiya: Do you trust me?

Sonakshi: More than myself.

Bhaiya: Vicky is playing a big game. He is pretending to have changed. But he is playing games and trying to turn Suhana against us. Do you remember Suhana also lied to us because of him?

Sonakshi: Dev, you just tell me what I have to do.

Bhaiya: Listen to me carefully, Sonakshi.

He tells her some plans.

Sonakshi says: Okay.

She calls Golu: Golu, you love your sister, naa?

Golu: Very much.

Sonakshi: Then you have to take care of something, okay?

Golu nods.

Sonakshi: Whoever comes to the party, has to wear a birthday cap. It doesn't matter if they are little or big. When your father comes, then you have to make him wear a cap too. No one is allowed without a cap.

Golu says: Yes. Golu never breaks his promise.

Sonakshi says: Awww... Soha has the best brother in the world. Thank you.

Golu smiles and runs to do his part.

Flashback ends.

Me: I don't get it. Honestly. What difference did that cap made? Soha said that her father had been back for a long time. It didn't take that long to get Vicky to wear the hat. I am confused. Did anyone get it?


Sonakshi is also standing with Bhaiya.

Vicky stammers: Bhaiya, I thought you will come on your own.

Bhaiya hands him some papers: Take this. 

Sonakshi is smirking.

Vicky: What is this?

Bhaiya says: This is what you wanted for so long. Today keep it as return gift on my daughter's birthday.

Vicky says: I didn't get it.

Me: Me neither. OMG, it is arrest warrant for frauds? No, he won't want it. Then what? 


Bhaiya: You always wanted your own company. You wanted to be like me, naa? But Vicky, the truth is that not like me, you could have been better than me. But you never wanted to work for it. You wanted everything to happen on its own. This company I started when Golu was born to secure your and Golu's future. This company is in your name. I thought I will give it to you when you become a responsible man. But you never became a responsible man. So I am handing over this company to you. Do what you want with it. But from now on, from this day, this moment, you have no brother. Your brother is dead for you.

Vicky is shocked.

Bhaiya: I never thought you will stoop so low, fall so low. From today onward, you won't even come in the vicinity of my daughter. I am giving a suggestion with all these at least be someone in the eyes of your parents, your wife and your son. Come on, Sonakshi.


Me (Clapping hard): Amazing... Great going Bhaiya. Now Vicky can screw his family's life along with Elena. Golu will always have a place with you. But Elena can now starve on the street when Vicky blows through this money as well. Then she won't be able to whine unfairness with her husband nor she will be able to claim that you had used Vicky. It will serve her right.

But how do you propose to keep Vicky away from Soha since these days she is singing Vicky chant?


Sonakshi comes to Bhaiya and holds her ears: Dev, I am sorry. I should have listened to you before.

Bhaiya: What kind of Batman are you? Take your hands down. Don't say sorry like this again. 

Sonakshi: I made a mistake. So I will say sorry, naa?

Bhaiya: You look so cute when you say sorry that...

Sonakshi: That?

Bhaiya: I can give you a lot more chances to say sorry.

Sonakshi: Tumi ekdom...

Bhaiya: Obhodro?

Sonakshi laughs and they hug.

Me: Everything is coming on track. Now just Sonakshi learn to inform what she is up to before and not after and we are all set.


At night, Sonakshi is putting on moisturiser and Bhaiya is tadofying (staring) over his cup of whatever.

She asks: Why are staring like this?

Bhaiya: Just like that. I have nothing else to do. So I am staring at you.

Me: Who are you kidding? Even when you have stuff to do, you still ogle her. That's your hobby, Bhaiya.


Sonakshi: Really? That's why you are staring?

Bhaiya: Hummm...

Sonakshi: Dev... 

Bhaiya: What?

Sonakshi walks away (probably to the washroom).

Bhaiya looks up and sees Suhana standing with a pillow.

Bhaiya asks: Suhaana? What are you doing there? Come here. What happened? You can't sleep?

Suhaana asks: Papa, can I sleep with you here? Please?

Bhaiya: Of course. We will send your Mummy to your room and you can sleep here. Okay?

Suhaana: I know, you won't do this.

Bhaiya: Why won't I do that?

Suhaana: Because you are world's best Papa.

Me: Hain? Makes no sense whatsoever. I thought Suhaana will say because you love Mummy. Bhaiya is not Sonakshi's Papa.


Soha says: Papa, you celebrated my birthday so well. What do you want as a return gift?

Me: Sweety, could you stop manipulating your parents? I am sure that would be the best return gift. Oh and also stop lying. That actually not a good trait to have.


Bhaiya: I want my daughter, Suhaana to stay just like this. You are the world's best daughter. That's why I am the world's best papa. 

Me: Oh boy. What a sucker. No wonder he gets manipulated. 


Soha gets sad. She is about to leave when Bhaiya stops her: What happened? Where are you going?

Soha says: Papa, I am not world's best daughter.

Bhaiya: Why are you saying this?

Soha: Because I lied to all of you. I bunked class and failed in exam.

Sonakshi comes out of the washroom.

Bhaiya: You admitted your mistake. That's why you are world's best daughter. You will never lie to your Mummy again. Okay? Now about failing, it's okay. I am fine with it. But your Mamma is the studious, specsy kind. She is studious so she wants to make you studious.

Me (Facepalm): Sahi jaa rahe the, Bhaiya. Phir teda Donkey Dixit bahaar aa gaya. Aap ka kuch nehin ho sakta.

(You were going in the right direction. But again twisty Donkey Dixit came out. You are hopeless)


Sonakshi: Dev?

Bhaiya starts stammering: Sonakshi, I was just telling her that...

Sonakshi: What? Tell me?

Soha: Mamma, Papa called your studious and specsy.

Bhaiya: Suhaana?

Soha: But Papa, if I lie, how will I become World's best daughter?

Bhaiya's mouth shut.

Sonakshi: Now what? Tell me, Papa? No need to teach my daughter wrong stuff. Okay?

Bhaiya gives in: Okay.

Sonakshi: Marks are important and Soha will get good marks because she is a bright student. Isn't it, Soha?

Bhaiya: Okay, I have two studious and specsy ladies, okay? (He tells Soha) You also wear specs.

Soha giggles.

Sonakshi also comes to bed and they all lie down.

Soha says: I wish Golu was also with us. We would have made him sleep with us. Papa, I am missing Golu a lot.

Bhaiya: Me too, Suhana.

Soha says: When Ronita Mami's little baby comes, I will sneak him in here and take care of him.

Bhaiya and Sonakshi laugh.

Bhaiya says: Okay, fine. Now go to sleep.

They all sleep.

Me: Bhaiya, you might as well buy a bigger bed. Soha has decided to bring all her cousins on the same bed. So of course, even King size won't be big enough.



Sonakshi is not sleeping. She thinks of Bhaiya and Vicky and what went on.

That makes her think of Saurabh.

She gets up and picks up her phone.

Then she gets up from the bed.

Saurabh and Ronita are sleeping when he gets a call.

He picks up the phone and it's Sonakshi.

But he cuts the call since Ronita is sleeping.

Sonakshi says: Dada, please pick up the phone.

It looks like she is standing outside the Bose house main door.

Then Sonakshi knocks on his bedroom door.

Saurabh wakes up and opens the door.

It's Sonakshi.

Saurabh asks: Why are you here at this time of the night?

Sonakshi says: By car.

Saurabh says: I didn't hear the doorbell. How did you enter?

Sonakshi: You are forgetting, naa? This is still my house. I have spare key.

Saurabh: What do you want?

Sonakshi: Come outside. I want to talk.

Saurabh comes out.



At Dixit house, Bhaiya wakes up in the middle of the night to see Suhana sitting up.

Bhaiya asks: Suhaana, why are you up?

Suhaana says: I didn't get up on my own, Papa. 

Bhaiya: Then who woke you up?

Suhaana: You.

Bhaiya: Me? But I was sleeping.

Suhaana: Yes, but you were talking in your sleep. I am not Obhodro, you are Obhodro.

Bhaiya laughs.

Suhaana: I woke up.

Bhaiya: Really? I am sorry. I didn't realise when I was talking in my sleep.

Suhaana: It's okay, Papa.

Bhaiya: Okay, now you go to sleep. I promise, I won't talk.

He is about to make Suhaana go to sleep when he notices that Sonakshi is not in her place.

He wonders: Where did Sonakshi go?

He gets a message just then. He reads: I am going out with the driver. Will return shortly. You stay with Suhaana.

Bhaiya mutters: Fine, Miss Bose. You won this time.

Me: That's an improvement for Sonakshi. She has finally learned the convenience of text messages. At least now Bhaiya knows that she didn't disappear in thin air. Bhaiya, aapke to bhaag khul gaye.

(Bhaiya, you got lucky finally)


Bhaiya looks at Suhaana who is looking at him.

He asks: What happened Suhaana? You didn't sleep yet?

Suhaana: Papa, you were talking again.

Bhaiya: Okay, sorry. Your Mummy is the problem. Now none of us will fall asleep.

They say in chorus: Mummy, is naa....

They smile at each other.

Bhaiya smack Suhaana with a pillow.

Me: These two with their excuses. The truth is that none of them can fall asleep without Sonakshi. 

This reminds me of my husband and his excuses when I went to India alone in January, 2016. I had taken Qatar from Toronto to Montral, Montreal to Qatar and then Qatar to Kolkata. 

My husband told me before I leave that when I go, he will sleep like a starfish in the centre of our King size bed and enjoy peace and quiet.

I didn't even reach Montreal which was less than an hour flight from Toronto and I got 5 messages with missing you, come back soon, love you with various emojis. 

I was in a hurry to board the next flight so I didn't have a chance to call him back.

When I landed in Kolkata, my mother told me that he has already called her multiple times and asked if I landed and to make me call him when I do. 

So I know how "honest" these excuses are. I have heard them before.



At Bose house, Sonakshi plops a bunch of files in front of Saurabh. 

Saurabh asks: What is all these?

Sonakshi says: Dada, you remember we used to have a chemistry teacher? What did she used to say? That "Chemistry is not a joke"...

Saurabh: Is this time to crack jokes? 

Sonakshi: She dropped my project with her saree but you fought with her for me. 

Saurabh: I didn't fight for you. My board exam was over and I passed. So I fought. Had I not passed already, I won't have fought with her.

Sonakshi: Lies. You are telling lies. You did it for me. I need your help.

Saurabh: Where were you? When your Dada was calling you, texting you and you were ignoring me.

Sonakshi holds her ears: Sorry. I made a mistake by mistake. Dada, when I didn't start this company on my own, how will I solve this issue on my own? And you remember naa, how many times I saved you from Baba's scolding in childhood?

Saurabh: You always bring Baba between us and...

Sonakshi points out to the files.

Saurabh: I can't work all night like this. Will you have ice cream?

Sonakshi laughs.

Saurabh: I will get it.

They eat ice cream and work together.

Saurabh falls asleep.

Sonakshi yawns but finally completes all work: This is also done. Tomorrow all payments will be released. Everything is solved. 

Me: This was a cute scene. I am glad that instead of Sonakshi single-handedly fixing everything, Sonakshi and Saurabh worked together to solve the problem. I really hate all rounder TV bahus. Teamwork is more realistic.



Then Sonakshi feels rumbly in her tumbly: I ate too much ice cream because of Dada. I am feeling weird in my tummy.

She feels nausea and runs to the washroom.

Me: Well, there you go. Baby 2 is on the way.


Sonakshi comes and sits on the bed where Ronita was sleeping.

She wakes up and sees Sonakshi: Arre, di...

She gets up.

Sonakshi says: Why did you get up? You need rest.

Ronita says: Sorry, di. I could not wait in the party. I was feeling very uncomfortable.

Sonakshi: There's no need to say sorry. You should take care of yourself. 

Ronita: Actually the smells I was getting there...

Sonakshi: Actually our senses become alert in pregnancy, specially nose. You go to bed. I am going. Okay?

Ronita: Where is Saurabh?

Sonakshi: He fell asleep downstairs while working. And you know what? We finished the entire tub of ice cream.

Ronita: The entire tub of ice cream? 

Sonakshi: Yes, but don't worry. It will get refilled tomorrow. Now you go to sleep.

Ronita gets back to sleep.

Sonakshi notices the baby swing in a corner of the room and baby clothes inside.

She hugs the baby clothes and holds the baby shoes.

Then gently puts them back and leaves.

Me: Awww... That was cute. She is going to get her own baby soon.


She comes downstairs and Bhaiya is standing with neutral expression there.

She says: Dev?

Me: Uh oh... What made me think that Bhaiya will stay put at home? Let's hope he won't go bonkers again. His expression is not giving any indication on what's going on in his head. 


PRECAP: Sonakshi is at a clinic. She looks herself in a full length mirror (Me: Where did that come from in a clinic? This is a clinic, not a clothing store), picks up a pillow and holds it against her like a belly and says: Look, Mummy got so fat?

The doctor comes there and says: Dr. Bose.

Sonakshi gets embarrassed: Sorry. 

The doctor says: Congratulations. The reports are positive.

Sonakshi becomes happy.

Me: Great news. Bhaiya will be very happy. He finally will get a chance to relive her pregnancy from beginning to end. I hope they tell the news to all the family member together.
