Tia's Thread - Unreasonable Demands!!!

Hi everyone,

Just a reminder, Gauri will open the thread next Thursday, Aug 3rd, Friday, Aug 4th and Monday, Aug 7th. So please join me to give her a huge thanks and squishy hugs.

I will be back on Tuesday, Aug 8th.

Thanks

One thing seemed really hilarious to me yesterday is how Bhaiya expected Sonakshi to behave like his mother. It also reminded me of how Ishwari had the same expectations from Sonakshi.

She herself admitted after her personality transformation that she expected Sonakshi to be like her but it was not necessary. Sonakshi is Sonakshi and Ishwari is Ishwari.

But the difference is that Bhaiya wants a mother in his wife. As weird as it sounds, Bhaiya's expectation isn't unusual though.

Many men who were treated like little princes by their mother who bends over backward to make them feel as if the world revolve around their little finger have the same expectations from their wives.

In their eyes, their mother and them have the best relationship because their mother fulfil their every demand so why won't their wives.

It's kind of same idiocy as when some men ask their wives, "How come you can't make <insert favourite food> like my mother".

I wonder how they would react if their wives ask back, "How come you can't be like my father/brother/any other male role model in their life?"

One thing any married person need to understand that your relationship with your spouse won't be the same as your relationship with your parents or for that matter like any other relative.

Simply because these two relationship have two different kinds of duties/responsibilities and two different kinds of rights.

The first one is pre-installed. You come to the world tied to that relationship. Whether you got a great sets of parents or a shitty one, you can't pick your parents.

The other is something we form out of our own personal preferences. If your boyfriend/girlfriend/fiance is not someone you connect with, you can pick another.

But keep in mind, just like you, your parents have no choice in their offspring. Whoever is born is the one they are stuck with (unless you are adopted).

But your boyfriend/girlfriend/fiance also has the same choice you do. If they find that you are not compatible with them, they can choose to marry another.

But that's the basic difference.

Now responsibilities -

Parents have the responsibilities to raise their children to the best of their abilities. But once the children are adults, their responsibility ends. That point onward, they are more adviser and less guardian of their children.

But the responsibility of one spouse to another is lifelong. This is the only relationship which is supposed to be by you for the rest of your life (unless death or shitty behaviour do you apart).

No other relationship is going to be by your side forever, not parents, nor kids, nor siblings. That's why when people define families, they define husband and wife and young children. Not husband, wife, adult offspring.

But why do some men get such unreasonable expectations of their spouse playing the role of their mother (not their children's mother). Well, because their mother treated them as little prince on whose whim they live and breathe.

For example, when Bhaiya showed displeasure to Ishwari's working, she was willing to give up her work because if Bhaiya isn't happy, she can't be happy.

Sonakshi told her to not do so and that she has the right to decide what she'd like to do in her life.

But Ishwari wasn't happy and didn't go to work until Bhaiya nodded his head.

So Bhaiya thinks that his decision is absolute. And that's why he is questioning Sonakshi that why she can't be like Ishwari whose every decision needs Bhaiya's stamp of approval?

Well, Sonakshi needs to tell him that just because his mother spoiled him to the extent that now he thinks that he is the king of the household who decides the fate of every family member, she certainly doesn't think so and that she can take her own decisions on her own and no, she doesn't need his approval to proceed.

Well, that is I hope she does. But with this Sonakshi, it doesn't seem very likely. Her history doesn't have examples of her using her brain when dealing with Bhaiya. So the same old vicious repetitive cycle continues!!!

Kuch Rang Stupidity Ke Aise Bhi!!!

EPISODE: The episode starts with Bhaiya bringing a group of people in Dixit house.

He thanks them for coming and says: I am sure Sonakshi will be very happy to see you guys. Please have a sit.

Me: Ummm... Who are these people? Are they Sonakshi's employees? Did Bhaiya again went behind Sonakshi's back and gave orders to her employees?

If he did, then today is the day Bhaiya's goose is going to get cooked. So all non-vegetarians out there, grab your forks and knives.

They sit down.

Sonakshi comes down in the red dress. She even took the time to curl her hair.

Me: See? She keeps giving mixed messages. If she is really completely, totally against Bhaiya going behind her back, then stop giving him an inch. Trust me, for men like Bhaiya, that's an open invitation to book the next 20 miles.

Bhaiya is happy to see her. But Sonakshi saw those people and gets angry.

Me: Yep. Those are her employees. I can recognise the girl who rescheduled all appointments and just now got scolded.

Bhaiya is looking at Sonakshi awestruck. Sonakshi is looking as if she'd like to strike him on his face.

Bhaiya: New day, fresh start. You are looking beautiful.

Me (facepalm): God save me from clueless men. Bhaiya, does it look like Sonakshi is smiling/happy/in any way in the mood to make a fresh start beyond making fresh chutney out of you?

So why not keep your mouth shut and duck for cover? The missiles are getting prepped to launch. There is no need for you to strike a matchstick beside a keg of dynamite. Don't worry. You will get your due. What's the hurry?

Sonakshi turns to the hapless employees caught between her and her husband's incompatibility and game playing: I clearly said that there will be no meeting in my home. All meetings will be at work. Then which part of it didn't you understand?

One of the colleague mumbles: But ma'am, Dev sir said...

Sonakshi: One more thing I told you. Who is your boss? Dev sir or I? Go to office right now. If you make another mistake like this, then you will see.

Bhaiya says: Sonakshi...

Sonakshi is still talking to her employees: What happened? Didn't you get what I said? Go.

They leave.

Me: Seriously, it's unnecessary hassle for Sonakshi's employees. Sonakshi, here's the deal. Again plain talk is in order. You should have clearly said to all of your employees that no matter what orders they get from Bhaiya, they need to verify that order with you before executing it. He has no right to give them any orders and they will only answer to you.

But instead you are taking out your anger on Bhaiya on those poor people who are caught between you and your marital issues. If you were that concerned with your personal and professional life being separate, then make it clear for all your employees and also to Bhaiya that he has no right to go behind your back and give orders to your employees.

But your problem is that you can't decide whether you want to lick his feet when he romances you or kick his head when he goes behind your back. First you decide what you want in your life, then give instructions to others.

As of now, you are giving mixed signals to everyone including me.

Ishwari comes to Suhana and says: Suhana, I found out everything.

Suhana gets scared.

Ishwari says: What did you think that I won't know that my little birdie is sitting here?

Suhana gets relieved.

Ishwari: Beta, you should have food also along with studies naa. You didn't eat anything. Come on, eat.

Suhana says: Dadi, I was doing my homework.

Ishwari says: Okay. Eat first, then do your homework.

Suhana says: I am not hungry, Dadi.

Ishwari asks: How come?

Suhana stammers: My friend had birthday today so I had double lunch, so I am not hungry.

Ishwari believes her. But asks: Why is your face looking so dull?

Suhana says that she is fine.

Ishwari says: Okay, I am taking this food with me. But when you get hungry, tell me.

Suhana thinks: Sorry Dadi, I lied to you. It was not my friend's birthday. I went out with Golu and Vicky Chachu.

Me: Suhana has started to tell lies on even little things. She is not aware why Vicky went out (it's not as if Vicky used to be around all that much when he was here in the house anyway) and Golu had been told that Vicky is working from elsewhere, then she had no reason not to tell Ishwari that she went out with Golu and Vicky. Yet, she said a lie even when she had no known reason for it.

While her conscience/previous upbringing still makes her hesitate, but now she is slowly starting to suppress her conscience and wipe out her previous upbringing.

This was the girl who once said, "I never lie" and now she says nothing but lies.

Sonakshi tells Dev: Dev, I don't understand why we keep coming back to the same matter after going circles around it.

Me: Because you keep giving mixed signals. Why else, Sonakshi?

You are like that girlfriend, who dumps her clingy, over possessive boyfriend, but keeps accepting that said boyfriend's gifts giving him hope that it will only be a matter of time until she is back in his control. Don't complaint if you are not willing to put your foot down.

Dev: Sonakshi, I don't understand that why you can't understand this simple thing? That I love you, Sonakshi.

Sonakshi: Dev, and I love you too. I also love you and I am not insulting your love, Dev. Your way of love is different and I love your way of loving. But Dev, we need to have some space in our relationship.

Bhaiya: Space?

He drags Sonakshi to the middle of living room...

Sonakshi: What are you doing?

Bhaiya: How much more space do you need?

Sonakshi: Dev, I love you. Do I love you or not? But I never interfered in your work, in your business using my love. I never poked my nose in there.

Bhaiya: So I interfered in your work? That's what you are trying to say? Come on, Sonakshi. I told you before. I want to see you become successful and you become a great role model for Soha. In fact, the best role model for her. I have no problem with that. This is good. Where is interference in there?

Sonakshi: Really? Then calling my stuff home, calling my clients to change meeting location, calling them yourself, is it not interference?

Bhaiya gets into defensive: Sonakshi, don't make mountain of a molehill. These are little things...

Sonakshi: These are not little things. It's important to me.

Bhaiya: Sonakshi, just because the location changed for your job, the work doesn't change.

Sonakshi: It matters, Dev. You and I both know very well that working as a boss is different. There is a decorum in office. I don't want my stuff to take me lightly. Dev, just like this family is a part of me, the same way, my work is also a part of my individuality, my identity.

Me (Facepalm #2): Sonakshi, you are still not talking on point. It doesn't matter if the work space has a specific decorum or whether your stuff treat you like boss or not. That's not the point. The point is Bhaiya has absolutely no right to decide where you should work and whether it makes a difference in your productivity or not. It's not his place to dictate.

You know, this is why you keep coming back to this same topic over and over again. Because you don't finish it once and for all.

Home > His Rights, Work - He has no right.

So he is not allowed to call/text/email/send pigeon mail/snail mail/airmail to anyone related to your work and that includes but not limited to your employees, your clients, your cleaning stuff, your gatekeeper, your partners until such time when he has proven that he understands professional boundary.

Topic closed. See, how easy that was?

Bhaiya: Identity? Every time I call you Miss Bose, you correct me and say Mrs. Dixit. Right? Then what's the problem, Sonakshi? I am not stopping you from any achievement. I just want to make one thing clear, Sonakshi. Your being Mrs. Dixit won't take away anything from you being Dr. Sonakshi Boss.

Me: Wait a minute. What's that got to do with her work? I didn't know that her being Mrs. Dixit means that she has to let you do whatever you want? I didn't know that Mrs. Dixit title comes with letting you take over her business?

Sonakshi: Your love is becoming too controlling. I feel like as if I lost my freedom.

Me: Oh good Lord, one issue at a time, you moron. First sort out the professional boundary and then proceed to personal. It seems like he is talking in one topic and you are about another and you are both jumping from one topic to another without coming to an agreement on any.

Your biggest complaint is that he is controlling your moves, then stick to that. Once that's sorted, your work situation will get sorted too.

If you decide to sort your work situation, then let's sort that one first since it's hampering your business and your reputation, then move on to your personal life.

But don't play hopscotch with different topics. They might be pointing at the exact same issue, but Bhaiya presented them differently.

Bhaiya: Freedom? What kind of freedom do you want?

Sonakshi: The freedom to take my own decisions. You have to stop right here.

Ishwari stops hearing their argument.

Bhaiya: Sonakshi, as much as I love you, I love Suhana and my mother just as much. I also love this home just as much. And I am very sure that every member of this family will agree that love is like this.

Me: Great, good to know. But Sonakshi is also equally sure that if you ask any sane person out there, they will agree that love is definitely not like this. Then tell me Bhaiya, would you change the way you love because it matches other people's opinion of love?

Sonakshi is exasperated: The way you love Maa and Maa loves you, there will be some difference between that and our love, naa? I, for whatever reason, am different and want to stay different. And you can't expect from me to be like you because I didn;t expect this from you. That's why our relationship can't be like your and Maa's relationship.

Bhaiya looks frustrated. He looks up and sees Ishwari standing there.

They both get shocked.

Me: I seriously don't get these two. They are talking in normal voice in the living room. Yes, in the frigging living room. And they get shocked seeing someone (anyone) overheard their conversation. WTF!!!

Anyhoo, Bhaiya finds an ally: Maa, did you hear what she said? Maa, you always taught me naa that love has no colour. It's like water. People are different, their ways are different, but love ties them together. You tell her. Tell her who is wrong and who is right? If I want to take care of her, keep her in front of my eyes, is that wrong? You tell me, naa Maa. Who is right and who is wrong between us?

Ishwari looks petrified. But she doesn't say anything.

So Bhaiya gets mad and storms off. Sonakshi also leaves from there in anger.

Ishwari is worried.

Me: Quite obviously. She is stuck between a rock and hard place.

But Bhaiya, seriously? You went whining to your mother to tell your buddy to play your choice of game? And when his mother didn't go to his buddy and scold her for not playing his choice of game, he sulked off.

I don't even know if you should be allowed to be married considering your mental age being that of a toddler.

Bhaiya is in his room and ranting: Why aren't you understanding my worry, my love? Why aren't you understanding? The way my Maa taught me to love, is that wrong? No, it can't be wrong. Then why aren't you understanding? Why are you thinking that my love is tying you up? Why, Sonakshi? Why aren't you being able to understand?

Me: No, no. Your mother's way of love can't be wrong. I mean it broke your marriage and broke you inside, but that can't be wrong. It's only Sonakshi's brain which is screwed in a wrong way because she has objection on your calling up her clients and undermining her credibility in front of her employees. I mean seriously, how dare she has an opinion which doesn't match the Dev Dixit's opinion?

You know what? You should have better trained her before bringing her back in your life. Then she at least could have got a warning... errr... I mean a demo of what to expect when you are expecting Dev Dixit to behave like an adult.

Golu got a new role model. Yep, it's Vicky because he smashed all video game record in the arcade and got him a lot of gifts. Such glory, such achievement.

He is telling all about it to Radha who is very happy.

Golu says that he couldn't bring those gifts home. But he will meet his dad everyday after school.

Me: Only until you dig a tunnel for him to slither in, my dear. After that you will be back in the neglect bin starving for attention.

Radha says: Really? You had so much fun with your Papa?

Golu says: Yes Dadi, we three had a lot of fun and did you know I have almost defeated him in one of the games. Papa has promised that we will also go to watch movie.

Radha: That's great. You keep meeting your Papa like this. Your Papa also loves you very much.

Golu says: Papa said the same thing to me.

Radha kisses him.

Me: Oh, that's why his Papa got a poisonous snake in the same summer camp where Golu was also participating and you and Vicky ran away leaving Golu behind before finding out whether someone caught the snake or not. Such love, such care!!!

Golu says: But we lied to Badi Dadi.

Radha asks: What did you say, Golu?

Golu: We said that we had extra class. I didn't say it. But Soha said it.

Radha: Soha lied to Jiji?

Golu: But she was a little scared. But I am here naa? I will teach her. Then she will also become an expert lier like me.

Radha: No beta. Lying is not a good thing. Good kids don't lie. Promise me that you will never lie again. Not even to your Dadi.

Golu says: I promise, I will never lie to you.

Elena comes there: You won't lie to your Dadi, will you lie to your mother?

Golu: Promise, I won't lie to you either.

Elena asks: So did you finish your homework?

Golu stutters: Today we didn't get any homework from school.

Radha laughs.

Elena: Sure?

Golu: Promise.

Elena: Golu, if you lie again about your studies, then I will not spare you. Your homework is posted in parents' group. Why did you lie?

Radha says: Golu beta, you didn't finish your homework. Bad thing. What did Dadi tell you just now? Good kids don't lie. Now go and finish your homework.

Golu leaves.

Me: Isn't it funny? Golu had learned to lie since he was a child. Now even though he was taught to tell the truth, his first instinct is to lie.

But Soha learned to say the truth since she was a kid. But even though she just learned how to lie, she had been only saying lie since she learned how to say it.

It just shows that while good habits take time to form, bad habits catches on quickly and much more difficult to shed. That's why children should not be allowed to develop or get away with bad habits.

Radha asks Elena: Did you talk to Vicky?

She says: No, Mummy.

Radha feels disappointed.

Elena: Mummy, I also miss Vicky a lot. But I want that when he comes back, he comes back a changed man, after winning everyone's trust.

Radha holds her hand and agrees with her.

Me: I can't still get over Radha's 180 degree turn around. I mean Sonakshi had done favour on her before. But nothing changed her mind about her.

And regarding Elena, darling you will be waiting forever if Vicky is to win everyone's trust. Because to win someone's trust, one has to show sincere repentance which is yet to happen in Vicky's case. Sincerity shows.

Sonakshi is standing in the garden where Ishwari comes.

Me: Okay, this red dress is supposedly one of her new outfit.

The good news is that we now have verified that Sonakshi got both legs (until now she could be standing on bamboo for all we knew). The red dress shows about three inches from her ankle.

Incidentally, that was how high our skirts were allowed in school. But our measurement were from the knee.

Sonakshi says: I am sorry, Maa. You are dragged in between us over and over again.

Ishwari: That's what I came to talk to you about. Sonakshi beta, this is not the first time you fought and nor this is the first time I came between you two. But this time is different. I didn't come to tell you my decision. I came to understand you. I want to understand something and only you can make me understand.

Sonakshi: How can I make you understand, Maa? I am not understanding myself.

They sit down.

Ishwari: Sonakshi, Dev was speaking the truth. I was the one who taught him in childhood that people are different - some soft, some hard. But love is like water. It fills every corner, every gap and fills them. But you told Dev that your and Dev's relationship can't be like your and Dev's relationship. The way I love Dev, you don't want the same love from him. Means what's wrong did I do? I am not understanding.

Sonakshi: Maa, don't get me wrong. But since last few days, Dev is comparing your relationship and our relationship.

Ishwari: But what's wrong in that? He loves you a lot. He is doing all this to keep you close to him.

Sonakshi: I also don't want to get away from him.

Ishwari: Didn't I told you, I made you understand that his way of love is this?

Sonakshi: Maa, the way I love Golu and Soha, I can't love Dev like that, naa?

Ishwari: Means?

Sonakshi: Means a mother and child's relationship is different and a husband and wife's relationship is different. There are a lot of complications, a lot of confusion in there. You said it yourself that love is like water. Every colour blends in there. But when every colour blends in, then the water become black naa?

Me: Ummm... No. First of all, being a science person you should know Sonakshi, that all colours together becomes white and absence of every colour is black.

You used the right example. But interpreted it wrong.

When in a relationship, every colour of rainbow blends in, then it becomes white as in pure.

But when a relationship becomes colourless, then it turns black or dark.

Possessiveness is not a colour of love. It's a colour of ownership. You feel possessive about your things, your room, your toys. But true love gives people the confidence to set your love free. Because you trust is one of the most important colour of love and possessiveness is the lack of trust. It's that suction, which drains every other colour from love.

Husband and wife's relationship won't have any complication or confusion if two people are willing to communicate, respect and work together.

You two have complications and confusions because none of you are willing to speak plain, respect each other's space and work together.

And Sonakshi, if you are still confused, then no wonder you are stuck in the same situation. Because you don't even know what you are fighting against and what you are fighting for.

Sonakshi continues: Maa, I respect your and Dev's relationship. And I also want in future, Soha and I have the same relationship. (Me: Say what?) But Maa, I can't expect this from Dev, naa? What is wrong in that Maa? That's why Dev has to decide, he has to choose, how he wants to love me.

Sonakshi walks away. Ishwari thinks.

Me: Sonakshi is a moron. She never speaks on point. Well, we can all blame the dialogue writers for this. No wonder Ishwari looks confused.

Sonakshi, it's not what you can expect from Bhaiya. But what you can accept from Bhaiya. See the difference?

You can expect exactly how Bhaiya is behaving. But is that behaviour acceptable, that's the question.

You should have told Ishwari that the way you love Soha now, will change when she becomes an adult because then you won't need to make her decisions. You will always love her, but as an adult, it's her life to live. But Bhaiya is your husband and you are both adult. Just like you can't make decisions on his behalf, he can't make decisions on your behalf either.

But instead you went round and round and reached nowhere. Where is that Sonakshi who came to her ex after breaking up and showed a shiny mirror to his mother and Radha? She used to be such an eloquent and smart lady. She got her point across with minimum words and more impact.

But this lady speaks a lot but makes zero sense.

Asha is showing baby clothes to Ronita. She says holding a baby sweater: See this? This was sent by Elena's mother, my sister. She knit this with her own hands.

Ronita smiles: Really? It's so cute.

Asha picks up a frock that looks like Soha's more recent size: And see this? Saurabh got this from Gariahut market when we were in Kolkata. We were so surprised.

Ronita: Why? You didn't like his choice?

Asha says: We liked it, that's why we were so surprised.

They laugh.

Asha then picks another frock which is again baby size: And then Bijoy copied Saurabh and bought this.

Me: CVs, seriously? Saurabh brought a little girl's frock and Bijoy bought a newborn baby's frock. They couldn't possibly have bought them in the same timeline. So Bijoy couldn't have copied Saurabh. No really. Just watch it and tell me. Do those two outfit looks like that they could be bought at the same time for the same kid?

Ronita says: How cute.

Asha says: What cute? Soha didn't like this dress at all. Whenever we used to make her wear this, she'd start crying. She never wore it. And if Soha likes something, then oh God...

Ronita smiles: She is a child, naa.

Bijoy comes there and asks: Asha, why did you take out these old clothes?

Asha is about to say it but Bijoy interrupts: One minute. If Sona has asked for these clothes back, then they won't go anywhere. These will stay here.

Me: Bijoy is milder version of Bhaiya minus the eff-ed up upbringing.

Saurabh also says: Yes, Maa. They are very cute.

Bijoy: One minute. This is not just clothes. This is our Soha's memories. They will get lost in that big house.

Asha: You two father and son start speaking even before hearing the whole thing.

Ronita: Yes, we just took them out to wash them. They can be used in a few months, naa?

Saurabh: That means you are saying that our child will wear these old clothes.

Asha says: Yes, why?

Saurabh: No, Maa. I will bring new clothes for him/her naa.

Asha: Arre? Kids are more comfortable in old clothes.

Saurabh: So I will bring new clothes which are comfortable.

Asha: Kids outgrow their clothes before the clothes get old.

Saurabh: Maa, it's Soha's outfit. Like Baba said, these has our memories. Then it will be unfair to both kids naa?

Bijoy asks: What's unfair in this?

Saurabh stammers: I am going to make new wardrobe for my new baby, I am telling you. That's it.

He leaves.

Bijoy says: This football has gone mad.

Asha says: He takes after his father, naa. That's why.

Ronita and Asha laugh.

Me: Filler scene. Moving on.

Bhaiya is fuming in the room. Ishwari comes there.

Then she hesitates and goes out.

Mamaji stops her outside his room: Ishwari, this is not the time to leave turning your back. Don't you think you should talk to Dev?

Ishwari says: How can I say...

Mamaji: It means, whatever is going on, we let it continue?

Ishwari: Bhaiya, this is husband and wife's matter. Whatever needs to be done, they have to do it. I am also worried for them. But I don't want to interfere between them again and create more problem. I can also see what's happening. But then what can I do? What can I tell him? Tell him that what he is doing is...

Mamaji: Is wrong? That means you also agree that whatever Dev is doing is wrong. Look Ishwari, a husband can put anklet on his wife's feet with love, but he can't put shackles on her feet. You know everything. But because the person doing the wrong is Dev, you won't say anything?

Me: Mamaji, finally you spoke on point.

Ishwari, had you truly stayed out of the matter and stayed completely neutral, then I'd say that yes. You are right. You should not speak between husband and wife.

But you didn't. You didn't think that this is a matter between husband and wife when you went to ask Sonakshi to understand Dev. Then what's stopping you from saying the same thing to Dev?

If you can talk to one, then why not the other? In fact, people say, a mother scolds her child first. Then why a mother-in-law won't do the same for her son first?

If you decide to stay out, then stay out completely. If you interfere, then don't interfere one sided.

Mamaji has hit the nail on the head. You are silent with Bhaiya because he is Bhaiya. You were not silent with Sonakshi.

Ishwari says: Bhaiya, at least you don't put that blame on me. What do I say to Dev? How can I say that he is wrong? When I know that he is doing what he saw me doing.

Mamaji: You are his Maa. It's your responsibility to protect him from the world. But Dev is Sonakshi's husband, not her father. You smack him and tell him that he should not do what he is doing.

Me: Even if he was her father, after children grow up and become adult, parents need to back off and let them protect themselves. They are always there to help, but not there to fight their battles. Every adult needs to learn how to survive on their own because parents don't live forever even though we hope otherwise.

Ishwari: That means I should interfere in their life again?

Me: But you already did Ishwari. Didn't you think you were interfering when you tried to make Sonakshi understand Bhaiya's point of view with hope that she will also let him have his way without protest?

Mamaji: Ishwari, once their relationship broke because of our interference. This time, if we don't intervene, their relationship will again break because of Dev's mistakes. Save your son and stop him from making this mistake.

Me: Well said, Mamaji. If she has already interfered, then might as well go all the way and show Bhaiya the mirror. One sided interference is more dangerous than not doing anything.

Ishwari is in the kitchen. Bhaiya comes there.

Ishwari remembers the past where Bhaiya blamed her for his marriage breaking down.

Bhaiya calls her name: Maa, why are you looking at me as if I am a ghost?

Ishwari says: Sometimes old memories flash back in front of our eyes.

Bhaiya asks: Maa, what are you thinking?

Ishwari says: Dev, I... Sonakshi.

Bhaiya: Maa, if this is about Sonakshi, then I don't want to talk about her. She thinks that I am wrong, my love is wrong. But I know that I am right.

Me: I thought you didn't want to talk about her? Oh you mean, you don't want to talk if someone agrees with her. You only want to talk about you and only want to validate that you are right.

Bhaiya: The truth is that she doesn't value my love.

Ishwari: No, Dev, no. Even you know it's not true.

Bhaiya: You tell me, Maa. What do you think? Am I tying her up? Am I suffocating her?

Ishwari thinks of Sonakshi who told her that: All I know is that he can't get my love by locking me up. My love has never tied him up. Then why is he doing to me?

Ishwari says: It's not like that. Husband and wife can see the same thing in two different ways. In every relationship, there are ups and downs. It's not necessary that everyone should be right all the time. It's not necessary that you two like everything about each other. But you can't harm your relationship like this naa. I know that my Sonakshi's every happiness is from my son. From you, son.

So now if you bother my daughter, I will come and pull your ears.

Dev: But I don't want to bother her. I also want to see her happy. All the love that I couldn't give her, couldn't take care of her, in the past years, I want to give her that.

Me: Bhaiya, that's a noble thought. But let me ask you. If Sonakshi asks you to eat for all the missing anniversary, birthday, special occasion cakes in one sitting, will you be able to do that? Will you be able to eat 7 years worth of cakes in one go without killing yourself?

Just like that, you may want to make up for 7 years in one go. But Sonakshi isn't able to take it. So if you really want her to be happy, then do little things in moderation over a period of time and make it up to her. Although since she got back to you, I was under the impression, that you are beginning with a clean slate. But guess not.

Ishwari: I know. You want to give her a lot of love. I know that. Look, if you want to make her happy, then do something new. Do something which changes the atmosphere. And by atmosphere I don't mean you again cut your hair.

Bhaiya: You don't even like my hair.

Ishwari jokes: No, I like it. But it looks like rat took this side's hair.

Me (*SNORT*): Exactly!!! I am so glad you said it. I thought CVs were going to blow a fan and make you say that it's the best haircut ever like they made Sonakshi behave like dumb bimbo.

Bhaiya says: Maa...

Ishwari: Look, home, family, responsibilities keep a daughter-in-law connected to the home, keeps her busy. But her satisfaction, connection, her every happiness is with her husband. If you are happy, then she will stay happy. You understand me, naa?

Bhaiya thinks.

Me: Good advice. So Bhaiya, stop running like headless chicken and relax. Sonakshi ain't going anywhere. After all, you can only claim mistakes so many times.

And also cut the crap about going behind people's back. It's annoying and disrespectful.

PRECAP: Sonakshi is standing on the rain. Bhaiya comes there with his car.

He takes out an umbrella and holding over Sonakshi. She takes off the umbrella from his hand and throws it away.

Sonakshi: I have a surprise for you.

Bhaiya with dil mein laddo phooting expression on his face (suppressed excited expression): What?

Sonakshi: Mr. Dixit, will you go out on a date with me?

Me: Neki aur pooch pooch (you gotta ask)? Bhaiya to ready since forever.

Finally normal husband and wife time. Aaj khush to bahut honge twitterwale, hain!!! Kalka TRP to pakka hain. But Sonakshi, problem solve karne ke baad rain dance karna haan? Warna pata chala, date ke baad hi, Bhaiya ne darwaze pe padlock laga diya.

(Today, twitter people will be very happy. Tomorrow's TRP is guatanteed. But Sonakshi, solve the problem before dancing in the rain, haan? Otherwise, you might find out that right after date, Bhaiya has put a padlock on the door.)

NO RULES!!! YAY!!!

  1. On a different note. I have a query. Has anybody read Adam Bede here. It such a wonderful book which has a story heroine and a wonderful love story. Its my favourite book. But for a silent movie adaptation and a BBC movie. It was never made in to a mainstream commercial movie. I cant understandì why.

  2. Overall, I liked the epi.
Sonakshi, for sticking to her side of argument after getting all those dresses yday from Dev.
Ishwari looked sensible and not completely biased.
Dev, as usual, as his possessive best.
One remark on his haircut...true tht...LOL. His haircut looks improvised now, after all those feedbacks....he resembles S1 dev and checks r gone too..:D
I loved them both lookwise, when they were fighting....happy to see the precap.

The dialogue writer never gives good dialogues to Sonakshi...when Ishwari asked her the qs on relationships, she kind of didnt make sense...vague answer, I didnt understand a thing how wud Ishwari...but Ish's qs was to the point. The PH never gives good dialogues to Sona.

RR 180 turn is good to see but I doubt Vicky.
Bcoz of Vicky, Dev had to secretly go and meet Soha in her school. As karma strikes back, he is seeing his son in his school secretly.

    1. I agree. Sonakshi took a stand, good.

She made no sense to anyone and even confused herself, bad.

Bhaiya stood and talked as opposed to rant and run, good.

Bhaiya heard everything, listened to nothing, bad.

Ishwari tried to make sense, good.

But expected initially for Sonakshi to give in to Bhaiya's demands like she does, bad.

      Mamaji's lecture, on point today.

Golu and Soha are together going down the drain. Before there was only one neglected child, now there's two.

  3. Exactly. Which is why his mistakes are repeated every single time. He never learns because he doesn't need to learn anything.

  4. Tomorrows scene will only make sense if they sort out the issue before going for a date or at least they r willing to talk to each other openly abt that. But I seriously have a doubt on that. I guess bhaiya has taken Ishwaris advice in a wrong way. He thinks by gifting her new clothes and being romantic with Sonakshi he can get his way. Abhi tak to Sonakshi hasn't budged but knowing her moronic behaviour anything can happen

    1. Exactly. I hope Sonakshi won't repeat the mistake of brushing serious problems under the carpet just to romance Bhaiya like in season one. But I am not sure of her. I haven't seen her as someone who learns her lessons.

  5. The show is just patchy. I thot Atleast this issue which was kind f out of the blue, would be treated Ina good way. But no we had to have Ishwari in the center giving cliche dialogues which were really vague today. Mama ji was good but I din like him saying that a mother has the right to obsess and interfere but a husband does not have. Seriously what is this serial propagating. They always try to keep their legs on both the boats.

    1. You have hit the nail on the head. They always want to please everyone but actually pleases no one. That's why the story and characters seem inconsistent.

    2. Read ur post now Tia. U express bhaiya desperation in the most funny manner. Tbh when thus track started ppl were like why are they fighting blah blah blah. It's not like they are an interesting couple when they are not. They hav zilch passion when they are not. So I liked them fighting, it made me believe they had some emotion in them. But know they hav to request, beg the team to end the track in the most abrupt manner, put in some mushy scenes which don't interest me any more. It's kind of getting repetitive for me.
