UK Trip Blog - The Travel and the Chaos of Day 1!!!

Mr. O and I had been planning a trip to Scotland and London for a while now.

This year is our 5th marriage anniversary. So this is our anniversary gift to us.

The day we were supposed to leave, we had full day of work and then flight at 11:45 p.m. We figured that it's good. We will come home, shower, dress, have dinner and then go.

So far so good.

We got to the airport, took the requisite selfies and then boarded the flight.

We flew Air Transat (Because it's cheap) but we compromised on paying for extra leg room. Mr. O chose the emergency row window seat. He figured that he will be able to stretch out his long legs.

But what we didn't realise is that what they gave in terms of leg room, they took out in terms of seat space.

The flight is curved in such a way that a chunk of seat is missing on the corner.

So Mr. O ended up on the aisle seat in the middle row deprived of extra leg room despite paying for it.

I, on the other hand, didn't pay for extra leg room because I hate emergency row seats. I was on a window seat one row behind Mr. O.

There was another lady on the aisle seat and no one in the middle. That means, while I didn't get extensions leg space which I don't need anyway, I got extra room to stretch out with my stuff which I do need. I chatted with the Canadian Scot lady on the aisle seat all the way to Glasgow and had a great flight.

We landed in Glasgow with severe jetlag because Mr. O could not sleep and I wasted my sleep watching Beauty and the Beast and chatting with the lady.

We got a cab and went to the Paisley station to pick up our tickets to Edinburgh. After we picked up our tickets, we were hungry. So we found this little restaurant by the station which had the best Mac 'n Cheese ever. It was so delicious, we could have licked the plate clean. We also ordered a Lasagna and shared the food.

Then we made it to the station. While we were waiting for the train, a bird pooped on Greg's backpack which was on top of his suitcase, so also on the suitcase.

Great!!! If that's an indication of how the vacation is going to be...

We boarded the train and reached Edinburgh. We took a taxi to the AirBnB we had booked.

This was our first experience at AirBnB. So I left Mr. O with the bags while I went to get the guy from whom we were renting the place.

When we came back to get the luggage, Mr. O was fuming. Why?

Well, the neighborhood lady took her dog out without a leash and the dog loved my carry on suitcase so much that he peed on it.

Wow!!! Talk about bad luck. Our luggage got peed and pooed on the same day by animal kingdom.

Trust us to have that kind of experience. One thing for sure, our life is never boring.

Anyhoo, since we just reached that day, we were super tired. We went for dinner at a Mexican restaurant nearby. They served freshly made Guacamole (Yum) and we had burritos for dinner.

Then we came home and went to bed. We have a busy day tomorrow.

    1. Lol... Tell me about it. I was thinking that what kind of luck do we have to find two species of animals thinking that our luggage makes handy potty? Ha ha... Thanks.
