UK Trip - Day 13

Right after I finished uploading my blog yesterday, my husband came running and asked me if I have seen his phone.

"No, I didn't", I replied.

Turned out when we were out taking pictures last night, he was using his cell phone (Yes, his LG G4 very recently UNLOCKED smartphone), to balance the camera lens on a monument corner which I noticed and thought it was odd. But then forgot about it.

Tickled pink with the picture he took, off he walks to the sunset leaving his phone on the monument.

Fortunately, a very sweet Italian girl found it and sent us messages asking us how she can return it.

We met her this morning for a coffee and to get our phone back.

That's how our day started today.

Yesterday might have ended in panic, but today started on a positive note.

So today's agenda is Stirling Castle. That's the only thing on our list and if time permits, may be Stirling Bridge (which didn't happen).

And when we come back, we will meet Greg's cousin Tricia (who just started her trip to Scotland) for dinner. So full day ahead.

We left for Stirling later than we expected. We left around 11:30 and reached there sometimes after noon.

The castle sits atop Castle Hill and is surrounded on three sides by steep cliffs, giving it a strong defensive position.

This is the most elaborate and most richly decorated castles we have seen in Scotland. Which means this was probably the richest too. Every room, particularly the Queen's chamber is richly decorated.

The Fleur De Lis in the decoration states the French Queen's connection to her home while the Unicorn symbolizing Purity was the King's insignia.

Greg hadn't bought anything until now. But there was a tapestry we both liked which showed Tree of Life with beautiful flowers and vines around it, Greg bought that one.

By the time we finished touring the palace and shopping, it was already 5 p.m. We left Stirling and went back to the hotel.

After dropping the car off and freshening up, Greg and I headed over to The City Marchant for dinner with family.

The dinner was delicious and the company was fantastic. We couldn't have ended the last night in Scotland better.

We'd definitely recommend this restaurant if you are looking for seafood in Marchant City, Glasgow.

Tomorrow we drive to Edinburgh to return the car and then take the train to London. So we have to wake up really early.
