UK Trip - Day 8
Today was a hit and miss day for us. We started our day late. We really needed some rest so we slept in.
We started today with a trip to Fairy Pools which is a beautiful waterfall in gorgeous settings.
But when we got there it was raining hard. On top of that, we had to park our car and hike for over 30 mins to get there. It was beyond my capabilities specially in such awful weather. So we ditched that plan and decided to try our luck at Talisker whiskey distillery.
We were initially told that you have to pre-book the tours. But we got lucky to get a tour within one hour of arriving. Great!!! That gave us time to have lunch.
After lunch we went on to the tour and whiskey testing. I just took once sniff and my nose and eyes stared burning. So I poured mine into Greg's little glass.
Our next stop was Dunvegan Castle, home to the MacLeod clan. The castle itself is not spectacular, but the garden was incredible.
After our tour of the castle, we decided to check out the Coral Beach.
Boy!!! That was some experience.
Coral Beach is gorgeous and it's shore is made by crushed coral and sea shells. So there's no doubt that it's worth a visit.
But, first what I thought was a flat ground walk of one mile turned out to be part walk/part hike of 2 miles.
Secondly, thanks to said information and it being a hot day, I didn't wear my socks. Hence got two blisters on my feet.
Thirdly, I lost my hairband.
But we wrote G ❤️ T, Scotland 2017 with the back of my selfie stick and took some good pictures before heading over to dinner.
But this area only has two restaurants and you need reservation which we didn't have. We reached there at 8, they said that they can seat us at 9:30. Since the choice was limited, we waited one and a half hour for dinner.
However, the good news is that Greg and I tried Haggis and we liked it. But decided that it's much better in smaller quantities. The rest of the food was also good.
Then we drove back to our place at 11. Tomorrow we head over to Inverness.
