La La Land!!!
No blurb today either. Instead, I will sing a song for CVs.
Oye oye ghanchakkar babu
Tere chakkar hain bekabu
Hua bheja tal ke saabudana re...
(Oye oye twisty turner
Your twists are chrming no longer...
My brain is overworked and warmer thanks to you)

We are going on a rant for you)
Oh lutiye, oh khatiye, oh lungi
Continous thookam-patti
(Oh crazy, oh twisty, oh useless...
Delivering garbage slapstick)
I am super busy today (again). So update will be slow and late.
EPISODE: The episode starts with Bhaiya opened his own school in his garden.
Me (*SNORT*): Apparently it's that easy.
All you need is teacher's experience.
Wait, he doesn't have one.
Okay, you just need the board's approval for exam.
Wait, he doesn't got that either.
But as long as the students follow a curriculum...
Oh but he is rebelling against that. So that is missing as well.
So exactly how the parents relied on him to be a teacher again? Did he promise to give job to each of these kids? I mean no other employer will hire students from a fictional school.
He asks: All present?
All the children chorus: All present sir.
Me: Yes, as if the absent students will call out that they are absent. Never mind. Continue on.
Radha, Ishwari, Elena and Sonakshi watch along with the parents.
One of the kids say: What will we study today?
Bhaiya says: Today we won't study anything.
The parents get worried.
Me: Seriously? You bloody morons handed over your kids' education to another kid's dad who has no background in teaching. I am worried for your intellect.
Golu jumps up in joy: Yay... Did you see? We got so lucky.
He then sits down again.
One of the kids ask: But why?
Bhaiya: Because today we will talk a lot. Talk about the past, thousands of years ago.
Kid: Of dinosours?
Bhaiya: Yes, and more.
Then Bhaiya starts talking and the kids listen.
The parents watch too.
Me: No study aid, no picture, no memory aid. The kids can listen to their heart's content. But how many of them will retain the knowledge? Unless they have auditory memory, I will bet - none!!!
Ishwari laughs. Radha says: Jiji, it looks like we got school opened in our house.
Ishwari: Yes bhabhi. See. I mean Dev will teach them very well. You know how good he was in studies. And he just didn't like books but also had interest in current affairs around the world. He used to ask me so many question which I could not answer. We just have to see how well this process will work for kids.
Radha: You are speaking the truth. But I think that school is best for education.
Ishwari also looks worried.
Me: For once, Radha is right. Syllabus may or may not work for all. But the discipline and structure school gives along with access to exam board, home schooling can't provide.
The thing is Ishwari, that just because one is a good student, it doesn't automatically translate into them being a good teacher. Otherwise, there won't be a course called B.Ed. People could start teaching with their existing degree.
But that doesn't happen. It's not enough to know about the topic to be a teacher. A teacher should also know how the kids learn, how they retain knowledge, how to make sure no child is being shortchanged due to his/her teaching method etc.
Bhaiya just giving lectures as professors do in university. How will these kids retain this knowledge?
The kids wiggle and have fun.
One of the parents say: Mrs. Dixit, it's not looking class like atmosphere.
Another asks Sona: You just see how much the children are having fun.
Bhaiya says: Ladies, a wise man has said that all work and no play makes Jack a dull boy. So we just don't study. We also have fun.
Sonakshi, Elena, Ishwari and Radha worry.
Me: Oh don't ask her. It was you morons who decided to put your kids in Bhaiya's hands. If you think they are going to get job in Bhaiya's company, you are kidding yourselves. You might as well go and look for another school for your kids. Oh and also get an assessment done about their learning style so that you can help them learn at home.
Bhaiya: And if the kids start to enjoy a subject like history, what's wrong in that?
Sonakshi: But Dev, more than half of these kids are paying attention to the fun portion.
Bhaiya: It's okay Sonakshi. I know. But you come and see later. It's a process. You come back later to see how everyone gets involved.
So the parents and Elena and Sonakshi leave.
The kids cheer.
Me: Oh dear. Bhaiya has a new toy now. It's called children's future. And not just his own children who has his money to fall back on.
At Bose house, Sourabh is trying to quiet his daughter: Mishti, Papa is here. He is playing with you. Mishti, please be quiet. Papa has to go to office too. Shhh...
Ronita: Sourabh, if you make noise like that, she will pee. She won't get quiet.
Sourabh: Then what should we do for her? So that she smiles.
Ronita: If you make such weird faces, do you think she will smile?
Sourabh: But she should do something.
Ronita: Do one thing. You sing a Bengali song.
Sourabh: Yes?
Ronita: Yes, then my princess will smile hearing her Papa's song.
Sourabh sings: I am Kolkata's Rashogolla (in a horrible accent and tone)
Ronita starts laughing.
Sourabh stops singing.
Ronita: Sourabh if you sing so horribly, she will get scared and cry even more.
Sourabh: Since you have better judgement, you sing.
Ronita: Okay I will try. What does Baba say Mishti? Ekla chalo, ekla chalo, ekla chalo re.
Sourabh laughs: Thank you for making me laugh.
Ronita gets mad.
Me: Filler scene. Not sure why this was needed. Moving on.
Bhaiya teaches kids about King Ashoka. He enacts the story. Kids enjoy the story.
One of the kids say: Golu, I didn't know about this.
Golu says: You just wait and see what else BigCha teaches you.
Me: That's the biggest regret.
At Bose house, Ronita says: Look how she is crying. Make her stop.
Sourabh: Now I will do something that will even make your father laugh.
Ronita says: Okay start. Get set go.
Sourabh and Ronita dance around with soft toy.
They turn around and sees Bijoy staring at them angrily.
They stop dancing and gets scared.
Bijoy: I saw what you are teaching Mishti. I thought I will teach her Bengali song, Bengali literature. Show her Bengali films. You take picture.
He walks away.
Sourabh says: Mishti, because of you Papa got scolded.
Ronita says: Mamma too.
Me: Talk about filler. But seriously Bijoy? Mishti will hardly start reading Tagore at her age. Get over your Bong obsession. It's good to know one's culture. but it's never good to be obsessed with it.
At Dixit house, Bhaiya moved onto photosynthesis.
Then he says: That's why we should plant more trees. So kids, today's class is over.
The kids cheer and dance.
The parents come back.
A kid says: Mummy, we had a lot of fun today.
Another kid says: This is the best classroom.
Bhaiya smiles.
He asks the kids: So what's today's progress card? King Ashoka was from which dynasty?
The kids shout: Maurya.
He asks the kids: What's the name of King Ashoka's grandfather?
The kids shout: Chandragupta Maurya.
He asks the kids: What's the name of the capital of King Ashoka's empire?
The kids shout: Patliputra
Elena gets impressed. Sonakshi smiles.
Bhaiya says: You guys are amazing. Good job.
One of the parents say: Mr. Dixit. We are very impressed with your teaching process.
Bhaiya says: Okay. Bye kids. See you tomorrow.
The kids run from there.
The parents with Sonakshi and Elena come to Bhaiya.
One of the parents ask: But Mr. Dixit, how do we talk to the school? Because you saw that they are not cooperating at all.
Sonakshi says: Let's talk to the trustees. May be they will understand us.
The parent says: She is right.
Bhaiya says: I will try to meet the trustees.
Sonakshi says: I will come with you.
Bhaiya says: No, Sonakshi. You stay at home. If there's any problem, I will call you.
Bhaiya walks away.
The parents also leave and Elena leaves too.
Me: You idiots. The school or trustees can't go against the board. Either approach the board or come out with a new board.
Like St. Xaviers College in Kolkata wanted their own system. They got out of Calcutta University board and created their own board where they teach their own curriculum unique to them. It took them more than a decade to get their curriculum recognised as equal to other boards. As Pramila rightly said, this doesn't happen overnight.
Sonakshi stands there and thinks of the past.
Flashback: Soha saying how her friends ask about her father. She had no answer to the questions. She says that everyone's parents will be in PTA meeting. She also wanted a father.
Sonakshi is about to answer when Soha replied that she shouldn't worry. She promised that she won't ask her questions.
Sonakshi said that Soha is so understanding.
Next flashback is Asha telling Sonakshi about people asking Soha questions about her father.
Sonakshi had said that she can't give any hope to Soha when even Bhaiya didn't know about his daughter. She just knew that she won't let Soha miss her father.
Asha had said that she can give Soha both parents' love, but she can't take her father's place. As she grows older, her questions will increase. She can hide the truth but can't run from it.
Sonakshi had said that if anyone can do anything, it's only Bhaiya. But she didn't know if that time will ever come.
Flashback ends.
Me: You know what Sonakshi reminds me off? She reminds me of Batman from the movie Batman Vs. Superman. Yes, that shit movie DC dished out. Well, do you remember (if you have watched it. But if you didn't, please don't watch it. It's a waste of time and money) how Batman frequently keep going back to the past as flashbacks?
But then his life sucked so it made sense for him to keep going back to the past happiness and sad events.
But why does Sonakshi gets into a trance when her life is just fine and dandy? She didn't go into a trance nearly as often before she got back together with Bhaiya. It would make more sense then than now.
And also, CVs had showed as if Soha never even asked about her dad in the initial episodes of second season. It didn't even cross her mind. Despite Sonakshi's repeated offers, she refused to meet her dad.
Now suddenly, CVs are showing that Soha wanted to meet her dad. Sonakshi didn't let her. And now on top of that, she thought that it was all in Bhaiya's hands to fix the situation? What? What would he do when he didn't even know his daughter existed?
CVs, are you smoking pots these days? Because that will explain the schizophrenic script.
Bhaiya is at school in trustee meeting including parents, principal and the teachers.
He says: We don't want to create problem for the school. We are just worried for our children. Here's the points in our proposal. That's why I wanted to meet you.
One of the trustees says: Mr. Dixit, your concern is valid. But our school is an international school. And the rules that are followed here, are the same as other schools across the world.
Bhaiya: You will have to consider our points. There are other parents with us. And if we protest together, then tomorrow media will question you, Govt. will question you. May be even school gets closed.
Me: Ummm no. It won't get closed. Because all you have is students from one class (may be only one division). The rest of the classes and division are still in the school. The only think the school has to show is that they are following proper recognised curriculum which you are challenging. So I'd think your position is way weaker than the school in front of media and Govt.
But then, this is Bhaiya land. So CVs might end up showing that Bhaiya way is the right way.
Statutory Warning: Please don't attempt at home.
One of the trustees says: Mr. Dixit, we want to support you. But for that, we need time. We also have to talk to the international board.
Bhaiya: You are forgetting that I am one of the trustees.
The lady says: You are not understanding in spite of being one of the trustees.
Bhaiya: You are forcing me to do what I don't want to do.
Bhaiya takes out his phone and is about to make a call when one of the trustees stop him: Mr. Dixit, please stop. We can understand what you are saying. Please give us one minute.
They talk to each other and then say: Mr. Dixit, we agree to your proposal. We will also talk to the principal and other teachers. We will teach the way you want us to.
The parents get happy. Bhaiya says thank you.
Me: Did I just see that? I mean what the effff? So the trustees are willing to go and talk to the board. Bhaiya threatens and refuses to give them time. So suddenly the trustees decide that they can run the school as per Bhaiya's whims. And Bhaiya becomes hero who bullied his way through.
Great...
Sonakshi is playing with Shubh: Why do you give only Papa so much attention? Mummy also misses you naa. She loves you very much.
Sonakshi gets a call.
She tells Shubh: I wish I could switch off this phone and I could play with you. All this happened because of your Papa. He said I should go to office and he will manage Shubh. Now see. I am getting so many calls.
Sonakshi picks up the phone and it's one of the parents. She says: Yes, Mrs. Whatever. I know what happened in the school.
She hangs the phone and tells Shubh: Look, look. How many calls are coming? This is also because of your dad. Everyone found out that your dad is super dad. He does so much things, different things. But we are very lucky naa that Papa is in our lives. He loves everyone very much. But he loves you the most. Now come and play with Mamma.
Sonakshi picks up Shubh.
She cuddles him and puts him in his cot.
Me: Erica really gets along with Vidvan very well. It shows in their comfort level with each other.
Bhaiya comes there.
He says: Hero went to sleep?
Sonakshi says: Yes, he went to sleep just now. By the way, congratulations.
Bhaiya: Congratulations to you too, Mrs. Dixit. Didn't I say there will be a little struggle, but it will happen. The trustees are ready to consider our proposal.
Sonakshi: I am sure they'd have accepted your proposal. You must have convinced them so lovingly.
Me: I am not sure if she is saying it sarcastically. I am guessing she is.
Bhaiya: The way I proposed to you and you could not say no.
Sonakshi makes faces.
Bhaiya says: Today is not romance day. But I can make some changes.
Sonakshi laughs.
They stare at each other.
Me: What? Itne mein itnaich milenga. Aage bado re baba.
(You will get this much only. Get going.)
Bhaiya comes to the kitchen: I told DK to soak kidney beans.
He finds the bowl: Okay, so this is it. I also told him to soak nuts. Looks like he forgot it. They only remember half of the chores.
He starts to do it himself.
Ishwari also comes into the kitchen: Dev, DK remembers only half of his chores, but at least he remembers. But you, you even forgot to sleep.
Bhaiya: Maa, I sleep on time naa?
Ishwari: You don't sleep on time. Look, if you are well, you will stay healthy. And that's when you can take care of everyone.
Bhaiya: Maa, it's nothing like that. I am well and take care of my health.
Ishwari: You won't listen to me naa? I will make you turmeric milk. You will sleep well.
Bhaiya: No, I don't want anything.
Ishwari makes faces: You won't listen.
Me: This reminds me of my grandma. If I don't eat what she is trying to get me to eat, she gets into instant emotional mode on how she is old and she will die one day and she won't be there to hound me for food then etc etc etc.
So I end up eating what she wants me to eat anyway. Even my husband could not say no to her. Although that could be because they are each other's biggest fans.
Bhaiya keeps staring at her.
Ishwari asks: What are you looking at?
Bhaiya: Not staring Maa, trying to understand. The word Maa is so beautiful. The word is so difficult to understand. The sacrifices behind the word is so difficult to understand.
Sonakshi was passing through. She stops to listen.
Bhaiya: Today when I am managing the house and kids, I realised what you had done for us. You listened to so many taunts for people, your self-respect might have got hurt so much, but you still didn't complaint. You just took care of us. You kept fighting against the world for us. You kept working hard. Mothers are so selfless. She takes care of her children forgetting the rest of the world and never asks for anything in return.
Ishwari: There are very few people in the world who understands this. But the truth is that when a child comes into a mother's life, her life changes. He makes her feel motherhood which you gave to me, your sisters gave to me. So this becomes a mother's responsibility to love her children as a child her whole life, take care of her children as a child her whole life. A mother becomes mother through her children.
Me: Aaarrgghhh... No, Ishwari. A mother should love her children, take care of them but not as a child their whole life. You can't give Bhaiya a bath now. Why? Because he can now take his own bath. You can't change Riya's diaper or wipe Nikki's bum. Why? Because they no longer need it from you.
Then how can a mother continue to love her children like a child? What mother can do is as her children grows up, she can become their friend, adviser, guide all rolled into one. She is still loving them and taking care of them. But now no longer raising them. That's the difference.
Bhaiya says: I love you Maa. I really love you.
Ishwari says: I love you too.
Sonakshi smiles.
Me: This portion was fine. CVs need to watch out for the dialogues. They are deteriorating with time.
Soha and Golu are in bed.
Soha gets restless. So she keeps turning sides.
Sonakshi comes to check on the kids when she sees that Soha is feeling uncomfortable.
She asks: What happened? You can't sleep?
Soha says: No Mamma.
Sonakshi asks: Do you have tummy ache?
Soha doesn't say anything.
Sonakshi asks: Did you take your medicine?
Soha says: Papa gave me medicine.
Sonakshi: Then why aren't you sleeping?
Soha says: I don't know Mamma. Could you hum the petting lullaby? I will fall asleep if you do.
Sonakshi says: Okay. Lie down.
Soha lies down and Sonakshi pats her head and hums the lullaby.
Then she goes into her past not-so-perfect trance again.
Flashback:
Sourabh runs after Soha to feed her medicine. He says that if she doesn't take her medicine, her mother will eat him up.
Sonakshi comes there and asks: What happened? Why would I eat you up?
Sourabh says: She is not taking her medicine.
Soha says: Soha ma'am won't take her medicine.
Sonakshi says: Come here. This is glucose. You can drink this naa?
Soha asks: This is with flavour naa?
Sonakshi: Of course. Come on. Drink it fast.
Soha drinks it and makes faces: Ewww... This has no flavour.
Sonakshi says: But this glucose will take care of your coughing and headache. Come on drink it.
Soha asks: Glucose has sugar in it, naa? Then where did that go?
Sonakshi looks at Sourabh and says: Oh so she wants the glucose with sugar.
She then bends down and kisses Soha's cheek: See, didn't you get glucose with sugar? Now drink it up. Come on.
Flashback ends.
Sonakshi falls asleep hugging Soha.
Me: I am not sure how the lullaby request triggered glucose trance. Where is the connection.
I also don't know why Sonakshi is so obsessed with her past single life that she keeps tele-transporting herself to there. Generally people don't think about sad past when they are happy.
Next morning, Bhaiya asks the kids: Come on kids. Tell me your favourite dishes.
Soha says: Pasta & Chat.
Golu says: Pizza and Burger.
Bhaiya is taking notes: Uh-huh. And?
Soha and Golu are all to happy to oblige.
Bhaiya says: Okay. Fine.
Ishwari says: Soha, what's going on? Why aren't you taking rest? What did the doctor say?
Soha says: Dadi, the doctor gave more medicines.
Ishwari gets worried: Why? Why did he give more medicines?
Bhaiya says: Suhaana, say the whole thing.
He tells Ishwari: Actually, he gave multi-vitamins. Her infection got better. But she needs multi-vitamins.
Ishwari: But why did he give so much?
Bhaiya: The doctor says that kids these days don't eat healthy. They eat unhealthy food outside, that's why it's necessary.
Ishwari says: And you. What are you doing here? What are you telling them? What they should eat? I am warning you Dev. They should not eat outside food.
Bhaiya: Oh this list? I am making this list so that I never give them these foods again.
Soha and Golu get mad. They protest.
Me: They should. What Bhaiya? What kind of psychological torture is this? First you ask their favourite food and then tell them that they won't ever get it? What are you? Sadist?
I am a foodie and this sounds like abuse to me. In this case, child abuse.
Golu shakes him and says: BigCha, this is cheating.
Bhaiya says: One second. Sit quietly.
Golu protests: BigCha, this is cheating.
Soha says: Please Papa, we like these foods.
Golu is slightly over melodramatic (In short, like me): I won't even be able to survive.
Bhaiya: Shut up.
Ishwari: Arre Dev, these are kids. They will ask for those foods. Besides Sonakshi takes care of their nutrition very well. If once or twice they eat out, at good restaurants, then it's not a big deal.
Golu jumps on it: Yes BigCha. If we eat out once in a while, what can go wrong?
Ishwari smiles.
Bhaiya also smiles and says: Shut up, you two. Nothing will go wrong and I won't let anything go wrong.
Ishwari smiles.
Me: I don't know if Bhaiya just played reverse psychology on the kids or on Ishwari.
PRECAP: Bhaiya says to Shubh: Are you ready?
Then he does his massage and puts diaper on him.
Ishwari watches him and takes video. She sends it to Sonakshi.
Sonakshi receives the video at work. She sees the video and smiles.
She says: I miss them.
Me: Now that's like a supportive mother. Good job, Ishwari. You are coming along better than Asha. And CVs had portrayed her as a better mother in season one. Since then you have improved leaps and bounds while she has stagnated as a mother.
NO RULES!!! YAY!!!

NO RULES!!! YAY!!!
The song sums up today's episode. They are revolutionizing education. Agar story nahi toh graceful end karo
ReplyDeleteI swear to God, the script is totally illogical.
Deleteit is soo stupid and "some" fans are going crazy like its some kind of revolution
ReplyDeleteit is crazy
I am happy for them to find joy in this crap. But I honestly can't digest illogical crap. Which is why I am really glad that this is temporary.
DeleteSonakshi's attitude that dev is forcing her to work is showing her in a very bad light. She is in a service based career line. If every doctor in India thinks like sonakshi it would be extremely bad.
ReplyDeleteI agree. However, if he is forcing her, then why is she taking credit for being an inspiration? She is no one's inspiration if she is doing her work under duress.
DeleteGiven that she is a doctor and she is doing something so noble, but her saying like Dev forced her is actually making her seem very shallow.
ReplyDeleteEven if we take out the noble deed in question, then also, Sonakshi is taking credit from her employees and accepting award for doing this work. What she should have done is politely decline and say that she is doing this only because her husband is making her do it. The credit should go to him for thinking of other underprivileged children as well as his own children.
DeleteI had thought initially that if Sonakshi and Bhaiya could adopt in season one. But now I realised that God forbid she fell pregnant after adopting a child, she'd have neglected the adopted child after having her own baby. I mean look at today. She was saying to Shubh that Bhaiya loves him the most. And that she was missing her.
He also has Soha and Golu. Why would Bhaiya love Shubh the most when he has two children and Golu whom he loves like his own son?
Why didn't she miss Soha when she was young? She went to work just fine. No one forced her then except her circumstances.
But the way she is behaving as if this is the first time she is working after being a mother.
She can miss Shubh thats fine. Maybe she missed Soha too. But yeah why would Dev love Soha less than Shubh? He anyways dying to have a baby girl. Also I come from a school thought were spouse should love each other the most as they have the babies because of eachother.
DeleteI completely agree with you. Spouse should love each other the most. And yes, how would Soha feel if she hears that her mother saying to her father loves her baby brother the most? Won't she feel that her father loves her less because he was not with her when she was a baby? I was really upset by that statement. And does Bhaiya love Golu any less? The boy whom he also raised as his own?
DeleteKrpkab is one show where love 's a competition. Why does anybody need to b loved the most. Why always the superlative in everything. Sona a a dumb case. Actually all female characters are pathetic.
DeleteIt's ridiculous man. Sonakshi is a huge let down in the name of a woman. Cvs just use her as a prop for dev and Ishwari. She does not have any personality of her own. I haven't seen a more uninspired and insipid character on screen. Elias heroines with all their lectures and solve it all attitude have more vigor.
ReplyDeleteExactly. She had a personality in season one. But since she got married to Bhaiya, her personality deteriorated to that of a moron.
DeleteDixits have this tradition of prioritizing their male child. Ish especially have now started thinking as having some exclusive rights on shubh, whereas soha is just another grandchild for her. And to see a smart and educated woman like sona OK with all this nonsense is when her credibility comes into question.
ReplyDeleteSonakshi pretends to be a modern, liberal woman. But she is very much like her regressive mother. Do you remember how easily Asha told her to hand over her company to her brother which she had worked hard to make into a success and sit at home with her kids? How much you are willing to bet that Soha will get a similar advice in future from if not Sonakshi, then at least her grandmother with full support from her mother?
Delete
