Probability!!!

Hi everyone,

Due to my injury I was away from work. I just joined back today and my colleague didn't come today.  So I am completely swamped. I will update the episode tonight Toronto time.

Until then, feel free to continue your discussions here.

P.S. Just came home. Updating in 10.

Shit shit shit. I typed half the episode and the page refreshed.

I can't do this again right now. I will write tomorrow tomorrow's episode and will do this one over the weekend. Sorry about that. I should have just hit publish.

EPISODE: The episode starts with Sonakshi pacing in the garden and thinking: Dev, whether anyone supports you or not, I will support you. You are sacrificing so much for me. What Dad had said in the past which we thought was a joke, you even made that come true.

Me: Hallelujah!!! Sonakshi's tubelight finally lit up. I had totally given up hope.

Flashback starts:

Sona is in her old house in Kolkata.

Sourav comes to Sona angrily and says: Sona, what are you doing here?

Sona: Dada, Soha was being stubborn. She insisted I stay back and help her with homework.

Sourav: Sona, you know how important that meeting was?

Sona: But Dada, I could not come naa.

Sourav: You could have also done it at night.

Asha: Why are you getting so angry? Can't you see? What else would she handle - office, Soha... You can handle it too naa.

Sourav: Maa, it was very important for her to be in the meeting.

Me: Funny, isn't it? Sourav could also have gone on his dinner date at night. But he didn't postpone his date for any reason.

But everytime Sonakshi picks her personal life, Sourav behaves as if the sky has fallen.

In mathematical term, Sourav > Business.

But Business > Sonakshi

So in short, Sourav > Sonakshi

Bijoy says: Hummm... I think had Dev been with Sonakshi, all these would have been handled easily.

Asha, Sourav and Sonakshi are stunned.

Bijoy: Why are you staring at me like that? What wrong did I say? If Dev was with Sona, then situation would have been different.

Asha: How it would have been different?

Sonakshi: And Baba, how did Dev come up in the middle? You think Dev would have left everything to help me with Soha? You are just saying anything.

Bijoy: Whatever I am saying, I am saying after thinking about it. Where has it been written that the responsibility of children and home only belongs to wife? Husband can also do this.

Asha: You are speaking rubbish.

Bijoy: That's the problem. No one wants to think about it. I hate Dev. But I know that he can do this.

Asha and Sourav look at each other and laugh.

Bijoy: What's your problem? Why can't a husband do his wife's work? Why can't they change their roles?

Sourav makes excuses and leaves: I have work at office. I am leaving.

Asha says: I have work in kitchen.

Sonakshi also leaves: Soha?

Bijoy says: That's the problem. If I say any inspirational, everyone runs away.

Me: Bijoy, Bijoy, Bijoy... You know if you play flute in front of an Ox what will happen? You will waste your time, and the Ox won't appreciate it. Now when next time you talk about equality and gender biased, talk to people who has the capability to take it. Don't expect it from your regressive wife and the two mindless puppet she raised.

Later Sona writes her email to Bhaiya: Did you know what Dad said today? He said that if you were with me, you could have stayed at home and help me with Soha and I could have gone to office. The talk is inspiring. But may be he forgot that our society will never accept it. But I want to believe him. Because I know that you play by your rules and not society's rules. I am right, aren't I, Dev?

Me: Sonakshi, you, with your mother and brother mocked your father. And now you are writing that your society won't accept a man taking care of children and a woman going to work. May be not. But what is the acceptance rate of single, divorced mothers living with her parents in your society? So should I assume that you should be mocked and ridiculed also for challenging social acceptance?

Flashback ends.

Sonakshi smiles at present.

Sourav and Ronita are out on a date with their baby.

Me: Ummm... Whatever for? Couldn't they leave the baby with Bijoy and Asha? They have cell phones. They could have called them if they needed them. What was the need to bring the baby?

Ronita says: Finally we are out for dinner.

Sourav says: Ronita, I want to tell you something.

Ronita says: Tell me.

Sourav: We didn't have time for a while now. Everyone was there and Mishti too, so I couldn't tell you.

Ronita: Sourav, tell me fast. You are scaring me.

Sourav: I wanted to tell you thank you. Thank you so much.

Ronita: Why thank you?

Sourav: For giving me the best gift of my life. For making me perfect, all because of you...

He looks at Mishti.

Ronita: And?

Sourav: I have become more efficient.

Ronita: And?

Sourav: You will also learn eventually.

He laughs.

Ronita gets angry: I will learn.

Sourav: Yes.

Ronita: That means I can't do anything.

Sourav: No, I didn't say that.

Ronita: That means I have to learn, isn't it?

Sourav: No. I was just teasing you.

Ronita: No, you weren't teasing me. You have pointed this out before. What do you think, I just pass my time sitting at home?

Me: Be honest, Ronita. Really, be honest. What do you do at home? Most of the time you are lazing around or whining about a cranky baby.

Sourav tries to control the damage: Ronita, I am sorry. I didn't mean it like that.

Ronita: That's exactly what you meant. You think that I can't take care of her.

Sourav keeps protesting: No.

Ronita: You are mature, you are perfect, you are expert.

Sourav: Neither I am expert nor you. I mean neither of us are perfect.

Ronita: Don't talk about both of us. You talk about yourself. I know what I can or can not do.

Me: You know it, Ronita? Then why not put your money where your claims are? Prove it by action.

Do you know, why how such tiny joke became such a serious argument? That only happens when you know your short comings and are sensitive about it.

I mean if anyone calls Sonakshi lazy, she will know it's a joke. So she won't mind.

But if someone calls you the same, you know that's true. That's why you took offence to the harmless teasing.

Sourav: I just wanted to tell you thank you for Mishti. There had been a lot of changes in our lives, I wanted to talk to you about that. That's why I took time off work and brought you here.

Ronita: That's why you brought me here, isn't it? To say all this. Otherwise you should have left me home. If you wanted to insult me, then you could have done it at home. Who insults their wife at dinner date?

Sourav: Why are you taking this talk to there? Try to understand.

Ronita: Sourabh, talk in a low voice. Everyone is listening.

Me: Hain? Seriously? Until now she was shouting. Suddenly everyone is listening just now when Sourav lost his temper?

Sourav speaks in a lower voice: Ronita look, I didn't want to say anything like you thought I did. I just wanted to tell you thank you from the bottom of my heart.

Ronita says loudly: If this is thank you, then thank you Mr. Sourav. You ruined my whole mood.

She throws her fork on the table.

Me: And here she was embarrassed that people were listening. Talk about pot calling the kettle black. Not to mention, their own little baby is hearing her parents argue in public like couple of fishwives. Forget rest of the restaurant, they should behave for their own child. But then, that is may be too much to expect from these two.

Sourav also gets mad. He slaps the table and says: We should have stayed at home. We should not have come here.

Ronita: Yes. I should stay at home so that you can enjoy yourself outside.

They look at each other and fume.

Mishti looks scared and she is also looking at her parents.

Me: And these two were judging Bhaiya's parenting. Talk about audacity.

At Dixit house, in the garden, Sonakshi and Bhaiya are drinking coffee.

Sonakshi says: We are drinking coffee together sitting here after such a long time, naa?

Bhaiya smiles.

Sonakshi: I know what you are thinking.

Bhaiya: Sonakshi, we must be doing something wrong that people are getting chance to point finger at our parenting.

Me: Bhaiya, trust me. Considering the sample of parents around you, there's not a single valid finger pointing at you. I am not talking about people who point fingers at others to hide their lack of skill. I am talking about people who are good parents and want to help out another parent. There is not a single finger like that which has been raised to your parenting.

Sonakshi: Who is pointing finger? Elena and Vicky are Golu's parents. So they will always worry about him.

Me: Sorry to butt in here. But Sonakshi, Elena and Vicky can easily take over Golu's responsibility. Why just worry that someone else is not doing a good job? Take over and do a better job. They are in no position to point finger at anyone considering they don't want the responsibility but want the credit of being Golu's parents if Bhaiya turns him into an excellent individual.

However, they put zero effort, zero contribution and zero hard work in raising Golu.

Sonakshi continues: Now you tell me one thing. If you had gone to office and I had stayed at home, wouldn't you have helped me in my work?

Bhaiya: Why not? I'd have definitely done it. But that doesn't prove that you don't help me.

Sonakshi: I do help you. But I can help you a little bit more, easily.

Bhaiya: Sonakshi, I will manage.

Sonakshi: I know you will manage. Now see, in the office, we work and our staffs work. Why? So that we can work effectively and efficiently and also faster. And we will also have to do parenting like this. Dev, that's how it will work out.

Bhaiya is not convinced.

Sonakshi: Look we are different. In some things, you are better than me and in some things, I am better than you. Correct? If we do parenting together, then may be we can do parenting perfectly too. Isn't it?

Bhaiya thinks.

Me: Bhaiya, it's a no brainer. Who wants to take all the responsibilities when you can share them?

Here's an easy example.

Say you have to paint a picture. If someone tells you to only paint with one colour and only paint the background because someone else is painting the actual picture, at some point of time it will get tedious.

But say if someone hands you a palate of colours and tells you that you and another person will paint one picture together. So that the portion you don't want to do right now or when you are busy doing another area, the other person can cover that section and the picture will get completed faster.

Doesn't the second scenario sounds more fun and less stressful?

At Bose house, Asha says: Bijoy, it's good that these two went out tonight without us. Now they will know how to handle a baby outside.

Bijoy: Asha, I think these two are not ready yet.

Asha: No no. They are learning everything fast. Besides, everyone has some problems initially, isn't it?

Just then someone knocks on the door.

Asha: Who is it now?

Bijoy says: I will see.

He opens the door and Ronita comes in.

Asha is surprised: Arre? Ronita? Where is Sourav?

Bijoy asks: You came so early?

Just then Sourav comes: Ronita, what is this? Why do you get angry so fast?

Me: Ummm... Where is the baby? Don't tell me they left her in the car.

Asha asks: Arre, what happened?

Bijoy: What happened, tell me.

Me: Guys, the baby is missing. Ask them if they left her in the car. How did everyone forget the baby here?

Ronita: Maa, it's not my fault. Everything is Sourav's fault. He ruined my entire dinner date.

Asha: But why are you arguing?

Ronita says: He thinks that I can't do parenting. If that's the case naa Sourav, then leave your work and stay at home.

Sourav: Huh?

Ronita: Yes, sit at home and manage the baby.

Me: Where is the effing baby? Why is no one asking that? I am feeling agitated.

Sourav: It's nothing like that. Don't make mountain out of a molehill, okay? Fine. If you think that, ask Maa and Baba right now who can do better parenting between us. Maa, Baba, tell us who can do better parenting between us.

Ronita: Baba, you tell me.

Bijoy: Shut up you two. First tell me where is Sounita?

Me: Finally someone bothered to remember the baby.

Sourav: With Ronita.

Ronita says: With Sourav.

Me: Say what? Did they think that the baby is Mr. India? If the baby was with the other, won't she be in the living room somewhere? Did they really leave the baby in the car? If they have locked the car, it can get heat up and the baby can get sick in closed dead air.

They finally realise that the baby is not here.

Asha worriedly asks: Where is Mishti?

Sourav gets scared.

Ronita says: Maa, Baba, we forgot the baby in the restaurant.

Asha and Bijoy scream: What?

Asha says: Oh God.

Me: Whaaaaaaatttttt? I gave them way too much credit before to think they must have left the baby in the car. These are even worse parents than that. They left the baby in the damn restaurant.

And what was Sourav saying to Sonakshi? Bhaiya should not have taken the responsibility which he can't manage. In that logical sense, he should just let someone else adopt their baby because these two are effing unsuitable to be parents.

These two should permanently shut his mouth where other people's parenting are concerned.

Sonakshi is still trying to convince Bhaiya: If we work as a team, we will be able to do everything well. And Dev, there's no work pressure as such so everything will be fine. That is if you allow me, then.

Bhaiya: Allow? What is that? Of course.

Sonakshi: Are you sure.

Bhaiya says nothing.

Sonakshi: Okay, now that we have decided this, we have to make a plan.

Bhaiya: Plan?

Sonakshi: Yes, plan. I mean there should be no confusion in what you will do and what I will do. I will drop the kids to school in the morning because I leave for work then. Okay?

Bhaiya: And I will pack their lunch. I will do that myself.

Sonakshi: Okay fine. I will get Soha ready so that Soha's plaits don't look uneven.

Bhaiya: And I will get Golu ready because he doesn't have plaits.

Sonakshi: Okay. So I will get them to bed at night.

Bhaiya: And I will wake them up in the morning on time.

Sonakshi: Okay, done. What else is left? Yes, I will teach them Science. Every other subject is your responsibility.

Bhaiya: The rest of the subjects are my responsibility? Why?

Sonakshi: If you are weak in any subject, then let me know.

Bhaiya looks stunned.

Then she laughs: What happened? I was joking.

Bhaiya: I know. But I remembered the subject I am best at.

Sonakshi looks suspiciously: What?

Bhaiya leans closer and says flirtatiously: This is the chance to revise my favourite subject.

Bhaiya holds Sonakshi's hands.

They look at each other and Sonakshi's hair blows.

Me: Because it's body doubles, only hair will blow. Everything else will have to remain in place.

Sonakshi: Oh, so your favourite subject is romance.

Bhaiya: Do you remember Sonakshi how we used to drink coffee on the roadside stall and how we used to dance in the rain?

Sonakshi remembers and smiles: And you always used to top in that subject.

Bhaiya: And the teacher was you.

Sonakshi smiles.

Bhaiya keeps staring at her.

Me: I wish there was a hug or dance or such things. But that's not possible with body doubles. It looks very awkward to watch them talking lovey dovey while maintaining one feet distance.

Asha is shouting at Sourav and Ronita: How can you two leave Sounita at the restaurant?

Bijoy: Have you sold your brains?

Me: Bijoy, people sell what they own. How can they sell what they don't have?

I mean just look at them. They are still standing here when they should run to the restaurant first to check on their baby and frantically call the restaurant to keep an eye on the baby until they arrive.

I mean that's what a concerned parents would do. Common sense, you see. But these two are still standing here.

Sourav: Baba, this happened because of Ronita. She started fighting there.

Ronita: Arre, I started fighting there? You are such a lier. Who told you to give your expert comments?

Sourav: I left from there naa. You were still there. Couldn't you have checked?

Ronita: I left before you, not after.

Bijoy: Shut up. You don't deserve to be called parents.

Me: Absolutely correct.

Sourav: Baba, we left in different cabs. May be that's why we got confused.

Me: Seriously? That's the excuse? Well, why didn't you check the table before leaving anyway? Just in case. A baby on a baby chair is not a dollar bill which one can't see if it falls on the floor. You may not have known that the other person didn't have the baby. But you knew that you at least don't have the baby with you, didn't you?

Asha: If something happens to my Sounita, then...

She tells Bijoy: Come on. Let's go to the restaurant right now.

Bijoy: Come on, get the car out.

They are about to leave when they stop stunned.

Me: None of them has any common sense. Make a damn call to the restaurant. Don't they have smartphones and google?

And if they had car, why the eff they went to restaurant on a cab? Won't they have taken their car?

I mean logical things are honestly beyond these people.

Ronita's mother walks in with the baby.

Ronita: Maa, you are here?

She runs to get her baby: Sounita is with you...

Ronita's mother stops her: Coincidentally, today (she said: that day. But I am guessing she meant today) I was in the same restaurant where you two were having dinner. I thought I'll surprise you. But you two surprised me instead. You left your daughter in the restaurant? The one you were fighting over like kids, you forgot to bring her home? Is this the way to manage a baby? How can you make such a big mistake?

Ronita cries: No, Maa. This is the first time. We take care of Sounita very well.

Ronita's mother: I have seen how much you take care of your baby.

Asha chimes in: No. They do take care of the baby.

Sourav: This mistake won't happen again.

Ronita: Yes Maa, lessons learned for life.

Ronita's mother: Don't say sorry to me. Say sorry to your daughter. If I wasn't there, then what would have happened? Huh?

Ronita takes the baby and says sorry.

Bijoy: If this happens again, then you will see.

Ronita: No Baba, this won't happen again.

Sourav and Ronita hug the baby.

Ronita's mother says: Happy Anniversary.

Sourav, Bijoy and Ronita's mother smile. Asha and Ronita still look scared.

Me: *SNORT* They will never forget this anniversary for sure.

Ronita's mother: After seeing all this, I have decided that I will stay here for a few days. Until I am convinced that you two can take the responsibility of being parents, I am not going from here.

Everyone looks worried except Ronita.

Me: I can understand others. But why is Ronita worried that her mother is coming to stay with us? She keeps asking for help from Sourav who also has work to do. Then why not take her mother's help? She also has the right to spend time with her daughter and granddaughter.

Next morning, Sonakshi wakes up. Soha is still sleeping.

She sees Bhaiya is trying to get Shubh to sleep: Please go to sleep Shubh. Papa has a lot of work to do.

Sonakshi wakes up Soha: Soha, wake up. You have to go to school. You will be late. Get up.

Soha says: Mamma, I am up.

Sonakshi: Good girl. Now get up and get ready or you will be late for school.

Bhaiya: Look Shubh, your Didi is up.

Soha says: Good morning, Papa.

She walks up to the baby: Good morning, Shubh. I love you. I am going to get ready.

Bhaiya says: Okay.

Bhaiya says to himself: Nothing will go wrong today.

Shubh is staring at Bhaiya.

He looks at him and kisses him: Absolutely not.

Sonakshi smiles.

Me: This was an adorable scene. And because no body double was used, this looked more intimate and endearing than the garden scene of the night before.

This looked more natural.

Golu is putting his cell phone in his bag.

Bhaiya brings his lunch: Golu, did you pack your bag?

Golu says: Yes.

Bhaiya: Okay, give me your bag. I will pack your lunch.

Golu says: No no, BigCha. I will do it.

Bhaiya: What happened to you suddenly?

Golu makes excuses: You help everyone. I will help you.

Bhaiya: Okay.

Golu smiles.

Just then Sonakshi comes with Soha's lunch. She says: Give me your bag.

She sees all her stuff lying around: What is all this, Soha?

Bhaiya fixes Golu's tie. Sonakshi fixes Soha's hair.

Then Sonakshi says: Dev, hurry up. I will be late for office. Let's go.

Bhaiya and Sonakshi usher the kids to the car.

Me: This is a more harmonious way to parent. They each picked a task and are working like a well-oiled machine. What an incredible teamwork.

On the way to school, Sonakshi is doing something on her cell phone. Soha and Golu are feeling bored.

Me: So Bhaiya didn't confisticate Sonakshi's phone.

Bhaiya asks: What is it, kids? Are you feeling bored?

They say: Yes Papa.

Bhaiya says: Okay. Quiz time.

Soha cheers: Yay!!!

Golu is not happy.

Bhaiya: Okay, first question. Who was the first prime minister of India?

They both think. But Soha answers: Jawaharlal Nehru.

Bhaiya: Yes, correct. Good girl. Second question. What is capital of India?

Soha says: New Delhi?

Sonakshi: Oh wow.

Bhaiya: Very good.

Me: Seriously? They are 9 years old who live in New Delhi. They have to be living under the rock to not know the capital of India while they all live in the capital of India.

And the fact that Golu didn't even know that makes it highly improbable.

Bhaiya: Golu, come on buddy. You didn't even answer one of them. Now only he will answer the next question. Ready?

Golu: Yes.

Bhaiya: Okay, then tell me how does clouds form?

Golu thinks about it. He makes excuses: BigCha, I am remembering... It's just coming to me.

Soha answers: By vapours, idiot.

Golu says: You idiot. I was remembering naa.

Soha: You keep remembering and I will win.

Me: Now point to be noted here.

This was the exact same question Golu's teacher asked to the class which they could not answer, but Golu could thanks to his unique education from the lab assistant.

According to Bhaiya, kids learn more roaming around the school than in the class.

Because of which he overhauled the whole curriculum of one class in one school.

He claimed that this education will be better retained by the kids.

However, bring back one game and Golu forgot everything.

So that means, he only retained the knowledge in the short time by memorising without really understanding the concept.

But in the long run, he can no longer recall his temporary memory (or which in our language we call ratta maar) because he was like Chatur from 3 idiots and not Rancho.

Which also means that he will promptly forget all these knowledge the moment he enters the next grade. How is that education useful?

Now if CVs suddenly show that the education system was really a success, then they also have to show that just one game can't wipe out well learned lessons overnight.

We all know that when you know the concept, you can derive the answers from logical steps.

For example, my teacher taught me the total area of a cylinder using a rectangular copy.

He held the rectangular copy to me and asked me what is the total area of the rectangle?

I answered length X width.

Then he rolled the rectangular copy and said: Now it's a cylinder. But the total area didn't change for the object because the object is the same.

Tell me what will be the formula of this one?

So the width became two circles. One on top and another on the bottom. The area of the circle is 2πR. Because there are two circles, it will be 2 X 2πR and then multiplied by length. So the formula of a cylinder's total area is 2 X 2πR X Length.

I haven't forgotten that formula even today. Because the concept was so clear in my head. It has been almost 20 years since I learned it.

Bhaiya: Come on, Golu. Didn't I tell you to learn this yesterday? But you didn't study anything. You didn't even answer one question?

Sonakshi: Don't worry. Tonight when Golu comes home, he will study everything and you will see how fast he answers tomorrow. Isn't it, Golu?

Golu: Yes.

Sonakshi: We will revise together, okay?

Golu: Okay.

Me: And that's the right approach.

Bhaiya, tips about kids. You don't just ask them to study. You sit with them and make sure they studies. Soha is still more responsible and she also likes to study. But for a child like Golu, you need to sit on his head to make him study. Just telling him to study isn't enough.

At school, Golu tells Soha: I almost got caught today. BigCha had almost seen the phone.

Soha: Golu, because of you, even I'd have been scolded. Why don't you stop playing this game? Because of you, even I get disturbed when I study.

Golu: It's just a game. I will study at the same time.

Soha: You didn't even know how clouds are formed when you answered that in the class a few days ago. Now I won't support you. Now you will have to listen to me.

Golu: Yes, and now I don't even need your support.

Soha: Why?

Golu shows his phone: This is the exam paper which the game admin sent so that we don't fail.

Me: Hold on a minute.

This is not a board exam whose paper a game admin can hack. This is a exam paper set in school by school teachers. Also, how will the game admin keep track of each and every exam happening in so many schools in the city? Unless they are only targeting this school.

But if that's the case, how will this news be published in the newspaper for Bijoy to read, but the name of the school won't be revealed?

So there can only be two scenario.

1. Someone from the school is the game admin and they stole the paper, hence mimicking the actual game maker about whom Bijoy read in the newspaper or

2. This is a completely illogical plot.

Soha snatches his phone: Golu, how did they get our question paper? This is absolutely wrong.

Golu: Because we know the answer beforehand, that's how we will top.

Soha: This is cheating naa, Golu. And we won't top by cheating.

Golu gets mad at Soha.

Me: Hold on a damn minute. I mean what the eff?

Okay, so let's say the game admin went through the trouble of locating this question paper. But how will Golu top just by getting the question paper when he doesn't know any answer as proved in the quiz?

You at least have to study enough to write the answer to the questions, even if you know which questions will be in the paper.

Now the Game admin could very well also send the answers. But even then 1. Golu will have to at least memorize the answer which he didn't AND

2. Since other kids are playing too, they will all write IDENTICAL answers and will get caught by the teacher.

The game admin will hardly write different version of answer of every questions. Who has the effing time to do that? And for what reason?

See this is why this plot is not working for me. So many illogical loopholes.

Bhaiya calls Sonakshi at work. She says: So you won't let me work naa?

Bhaiya looks like is in the office. He is walking with Shubh: I love you.

Sonakshi: Dev...

Bhaiya: You don't reply Dev to I love you. Come on, I love you.

Sonakshi: Hummm...

Bhaiya: This was even worse than the previous answer. Sonakshi, answer me quickly.

Sonakshi: Dev, I am at work.

Bhaiya: So what? If you don't answer me, then I will have to come to the office.

Sonakshi: Arre? You will come to the office to get this answer? Are you mad?

Bhaiya: Yes, why not? Now you do so much drama, I have no other option.

Sonakshi: Really? And who will take care of my son?

Bhaiya: Oh, is that it? Okay, then your son and I can come together.

Sonakshi: Dev, if your fun is over, can I get back to my work?

Bhaiya: Look, I will have to come to hear my answer. Or you may think, I am already here.

Sonakshi looks up and sees Bhaiya: Dev?

She signals her employee to leave.

Bhaiya puts Shubh's carrier on the desk and sits down.

Sonakshi: You were calling from here?

Bhaiya: Of course. I knew that you won't answer easily. So I came here.

Sonakshi whispers: I love you too.

Her employees overhear. They giggle.

Sonakshi feels shy. She tells her employee to shift the meeting for later.

They smile and leave.

Me: Cute scene. I am tired of whining about professionalism. So moving on.

At Bose house, Ronita's mother scolds Sourav who is doing something in the kitchen: Arre, what are you doing?

Sourav says: Sorry sorry.

Ronita's mother says: If you want to learn how to manage baby, then you will have to learn from the basic.

Sourav says: I can boil milk. It's just it spilled a bit.

Just then Asha comes there: Arre, Sourav? What are you doing in the kitchen? Didn't you go to the office?

Sourav says: Mishti was being cranky since morning and Ronita is handling her. So mother-in-law said that...

Ronita's mother cuts in: That's why I requested Sourav that he should take the time off from work today so that I can teach him how to handle Saunita.

Sourav says: You ordered me very well...

Ronita's mother says: Huh?

Sourav: I mean, very nicely requested Maa. That's why I am doing this.

Asha: Didi, you want to teach Sourav this, it's very good. But why does he need to learn how to handle kitchen? I manage kitchen myself. In fact, I also help Ronita in the kitchen. And as for Sounita, they should do it together. That's how they will learn how to raise kids.

Me: Asha, Asha, Asha, you regressive queen.

Here's some facts, honey. You are not immortal vampire. One day, someday soon, you will grow old and die. It's a fact of life. Then who will manage kitchen and help Ronita if Sourav doesn't learn?

At least Ronita's mother is trying to help your son learn what you should have taught him.

Also, she is teaching him how to boil milk for the baby, not how to make Rasmalai. So according to you, since Sounita's work should be share by the two of them, why are you even talking here? Let her teach Sourav how to carry out his part of the duty.

Would you have said the same thing if this was Ishwari who was training Soha?

And by the way, this is why no one detects your tactics. You start with saccharine sweet voice and start with a positive note. And then let your regressive statements come out in polite voice. This is a trick politician's use. Have you ever considered a career in politics, Asha? Your talent of manipulation could have shined there.

Ronita's mother: Ashaji, what do you mean? My Ronita does everything. She manages Saunita. Now it's time Sourav also should learn everything. That's why from today onwards, Sourav's training starts. Isn't it Sourav?

Sourav reluctantly agrees. Asha looks upset.

Ronita's mother says: Come on. Now learn how to clean up. Shut this first.

Asha leaves.

Ronita's mother urges Sourav: Come on, clean up. Lots more left to do.

She teaches him how to take the hot milk off the stove.

Me: Hold on a moment, aunty. Ronita does everything? Since when? I mean she does most of the whining. But everything else is done by others. So why not train them together?

However, since Ronita already knows kitchen work, I guess it makes sense for her to train Sourav to bring her to Ronita' level.

At school, the teacher reads out the marks.

Soha got 19 out of 20 and Golu got 20 out of 20.

Soha and every other kid is shocked including the kid who was actually playing the game longer and incited Golu to play it.

Me: Funnily enough, that kid is shocked by Golu's marks. I mean why? He also plays the game and he must have got the question paper too.

Then he should also top and should already know why Golu topped. Then why is he shocked?

Also, just by looking at the question paper, without studying anything, Golu scored full marks.

But all the kids who were also playing the game and a lot longer than Golu didn't top as well.

How is that possible?

Golu cheers and goes to collect the paper.

The teacher says: One minute. Did I check correctly?

She calls Suhaana: Come here for a minute.

She checks both their copies.

Soha thinks how Golu said that he got question paper early.

The teacher says: Golu, you have got such good marks for the first time.

Golu says: Last time I scored so low, so I studied hard this time.

The teacher says: Good.

Golu says: And Suhaana too.

The teacher says: If you keep studying like this, you will score very well.

Golu: You please call and tell our parents that we scored full marks.

The teacher agrees.

Me: Golu really knows how to play it to the max. He is making sure that the family doesn't worry about him and thus play less attention to his activities.

At office, Bhaiya gets a call.

It's the teacher.

Bhaiya says: Thank you so much. You gave very good news.

He hangs up the phone and tells Sonakshi: Both got highest marks.

Sonakshi: Wow.

Me: Yes wow. How come even with question paper, the other kids could not beat Soha or at least match her score?

Bhaiya: Now you have a little confidence in me, don't you?

Sonakshi: The confidence never left. But I am relieved. Now we know that when kids score well, parents feel so good.

Bhaiya: Our kids are just like that, the best.

Sonakshi smiles.

Me: One of them certainly is. And the other could be too if he hadn't inherit his dad's talent to lie.

PRECAP: Ishwari says: It's Dev's phone.

Sonakshi asks her to pick it up.

Bhaiya says presentation went well.

Ishwari chirps: See Dev, when you manage work and Sonakshi manages Shubh, how everything turns out well?

Then she, Bhaiya and Sonakshi all feel awkward.

Me: Read my thoughts in the next post.

NO RULES!!! YAY!!!

  1. Even In today's episode bijoy gave some sensible and much needed advice. Cvs have kept him intact. Asha as usual just ridiculed him. Does this woman ever get rid of her sanctimonious self.

    1. Agreed. Bijoy always spoke sense (except when he gets on his high horse). But Asha thinks she is the only sensible person under the sun. Worse, she has convinced her kids that she speaks sense but not their father.

    2. Ironical isn't it. One would expect ppl to listen to the logical one. But here the sensible one is ridiculed and the pseudo progressive, regressive mama is revered. It's a sad state of affairs.

    3. Yep. Unfortunately, Asha has brainwashed her children to think of their father as a fool and her as all-knowing woman. So that's exactly how they treat him.

Didn't you see when a father brainwashes his kids to ridicule their mother, that's exactly how kids behave?

It's not as glaringly obvious because a woman is doing this, not a man.

    1. Sorry hun. I will do it over the weekend and post a note for everyone. I promise. I watched the episode though. And it was one of the better ones in terms of writing materials.

    2. Thank you for the write up.

  3. Tia,

I have always found sona's flashbacks ridiculous. I mean in the beginning she was this cold, no nonsense business woman who totally hated him, that she was totally indifferent to him. But now they are showing us her writing these wistful mails as if they separated by fate and not due to choice.

  4. Tia, your write up is very funny. :) Probably by the end of the series, Dev will open a free school, become the teacher there. Sonakshi will be the nutritionist of that school. And the other 2 parents who cannot take care of their children will give their children to these 2 to bring them up. :) :)

    1. Thank you. Exactly. I mean why the heck are they responsible for all the kids in the nearby area? When will Elena and Vicky take their damn responsibilities? And don't even get me started on Sourav and Ronita. Those two are absolute worse as proven today and hypocrite too. They judge Bhaiya when these two suck as parents. Seriously?

    2. Don’t take me wrong, but Elena, Vickky, Saurabh and Ronita will not take responsibility as long as Dev and Sonakshi start treating these people as adults. As long as Dev and Sonakshi cover for this quarter, why will they take responsibility. These 2 should stop being the crutches or training wheels for the other 2 couple. Dev should just hand over Golu to Elena and Vickky and say he is your headache. Good or bad, it is your responsibility. Sonakshi should do the same with Saurabh. Say you take care of your family and I will take care of my family. Only when those 4 are let to make their own mistakes and learn from it, they will not learn.

      Just my pov.

    3. I agree with that. The reason Sonakshi and Dev have no personal life is because they are taking everyone's responsibility. They should let people carry their own weight.

Vicky and Elena show up with complaints all the time, they can show that they can do a better job by taking over Golu's responsibility. But they are not even around in the morning at school time or in the evening except to show their faces at dining table.

Sourav is quick to point out when Sonakshi is not attending business or how Bhaiya should raise kids. Sonakshi should tell Sourav that it's not just her business, but his too. So he can take over one area and she will take over another. She won't interfere in her area and he won't interfere in hers. Also, she should tell him to mind his family before he judge hers.

But I doubt they will ever do that. Because they are the Ram-Sita of Kalyug who has to carry the world over their head even if they are juggling multiple priorities on skateboard.

  5. Tia, Although blue whale targets all kids and lot of kids in his school are playing, I am thinking Golu is a specific target. The game maker might have targeted both Golu and Soha, but only Golu fell in the trap. Previously Vickky had shady dealings with a good number of people. Of that Mr. Takkar was someone who got burned quite badly when he believed Vickky and Dev released the software before than planned.

Mr. Takkar is a business rival to Dev who would have been very happy if Dev lost everything. He is also a person who has the means in terms of technology and money to pull it off. The other kids playing the game are collateral damage. It also helps him to cover his tracks.

Even though it is a school test, the trustees still mentioned a board. Also the test was not a surprise one. So the teacher had created the question paper and stored it on the server. Mr. Takkar could have easily hacked it and sent it to Golu including the answers. He is someone who would definitely want revenge on Vickky for his loss.

    1. Hummm... I suppose that's a possibility. However, how'd the game admin know that the other kids will put peer pressure on Golu? Soha didn't fall for it. How would he know that Golu will fall for it? It doesn't make sense.

Also, why would then he target other kids and convince them to die so that this gets published in the newspaper? Won't that alert authorities about his shady intentions?

      Delete
    2. Tia, it is like fishing or hunting . :) . He set the trap and waited for one of them (either Golu or Soha or both) to fall for it. He took a chance and waited for the right opportunity. Once Golu started playing it, I guess it was not hard for Takkar to make sure Golu never left the game.

Regarding it coming in the paper and police, there is always corruption and underground networks. He might have given the contract to a gang and asked them to give him progress reports. He might be monitoring while it is someone else who is doing the dirty work. Like Vickky asking his friend to do something so that Dev didn’t come to office during the goon attack. The newspaper just published that the kids died because of that game, but didn’t name who the game maker was. So police as of now are not aware of Mr. Takkar’s involvement in this matter.
